going to talk about this case that's taking over the True Crime world right now and that is the Miss Switzerland finalist and her husband she is now deceased but her husband is accused of some pretty graphic crimes we're going to talk about this in a minute and then there today there was a shooting in Dallas as well and so we got a bunch of different things to talk about you know uh yeah James MTA first so they keep searching that I don't know what they're looking for I don't know if they think they missed something or but I'm going to show you here they updated this on the 12th and it says and I quote hey guys how are you uh it says search for M cleb forensic experts scale familyes Manasses Park home and it says authori searched the the home of Nares Bart Thursday as their investigation of disapperance of M wait is this the same one hold on guys is this my old link hold on let me go back here hold on yeah it's the wrong one sorry about that I have too many links on her yeah there we go they said here we found evidence we believe is connected search continues for M sorry about that I've literally got like a thousand links and I have to search by name and when I search this one the wrong one popped up uh so it says here they found evidence we believe is connected what does that mean it says on Wednesday police searched a small area near the home uh that they shared together and lived in for close to a year they said searches for Mom a 28-year-old mother and nurse have not eased up the the uh Chief says we've done several searches not only here in Manasses Park and in Manasses Prince William County we've done them in Lowden County and Fairfax County uh Chief Lugo confirmed to wusa9 that investigator searched a small area behind the home where she and her husband NES lived for the past year see you remember when they searched the home originally and I even mentioned to you it was very strange that they didn't check that huge grass area out the back of their home and I was like I never saw anyone out there I didn't see any forensic people they didn't rope it off they didn't you know put up any TPS or lights or anything like that and I thought that was really odd because like where's the first place you check uh the house and then probably somewhere in the ground right so I was like hm it's a little odd but now it looks like they have gone back they said we found evidence we believe is connected to the case the missing knives maybe they said this update came less than 24 hours after a post on the Department's Facebook page where they wrote we recently had an individual come forward with information that was helpful in the case the police department is requesting anyone who had contact with or spoke to narash between July 28th and August 5th to please contact the police department on 703 361 11136 we are seeking individuals that have not been interviewed or contacted by detectives already interesting they said here regarding the helpful tip he wouldn't go into details they he did say the person came in and reported anonymously to us so I don't want to disclose that but we are looking into what he provided to us and seeing if it's connected to the case or not I find that fascinating that they would even say it was a guy they didn't say it was them or they or you know a person they said it was a a man and I find that H that sounds like something they wanted to get out there that there was a guy a guy came to us and was like Hey look over here uh says NES was arrested on August 2 second in charge with concealing a dead body he REM remains behind bars right now on no bond Lugo told wusa9 that they will be continued to be searching for M as they receive records they've been requesting things like phone records that we've been hitting off Towers places he might go for financials you know you look into that what restaurants stores he may visit visited so those type of things that's what we're looking into and that's what he told the Press here explained that the records give them Clues as to where they need to search so as the records show where we need to search or if we think this is an area we've been doing that any evidence that we've collected we have to verify that it's connected so that takes some time on Wednesday night a group gathered outside the Manasses Park police they said we're here to keep her name in the news the chief has specifically said that he appreciates the community support and he feels like the more we keep her story out there the more likely Ood that tips are going to come in and help forward the case and that was Holly she's she's fantastic she's done a great job uh advocating for MTA they said here she and others held up justice for MTA signs and wore Justice for M pins on their clothing over the weekend they held a vigil for her they said the support from the community has been nonstop for her family especially M's young daughter we put out an Amazon wish list with some susic uh susic specific needs and within 3 hours everything on that wish list was bought for the family so the outpouring of Love is truly overwhelming that's really nice to hear that the community so badly wanted to help the M's child and they didn't have really have a way because the child had to go through um children's court and you know custody uh type situation because her father's been arrested and her mother is missing so the child had to be put into protective sort of like protective custody um but now that her family made it to the USA they now have uh you know they now have her and I think we're not supposed to use her name so we're just calling her baby and yeah it's really nice that the community wants to help baby and give her you know whatever she needs very evidence to examine Katie lell has been leading our coverage on this story Katie I know you spoke with the Manasses Park police chief just a few hours ago what did he tell you yeah so he told me that tonight they actually conducted a search today not far from mta's home this update coming less than 24 hours after the chief posted on Facebook that they'd received a helpful tip from the community and that they wanted to hear from anyone who had spoken to nesbot M's husband between July 28th and August 5th we are actively investigating this and it's not going this is not going Cold Case Manassa Park police chief Mario Lugo says the search for Mom to kabad is far from over serly I had one that said Thank You CH Wednesday night a group gathered outside the police department as they have been for weeks now calling for justice for MTA the more that we keep her story story out there the more likelihood that tips are going to come in they're going to help forward the case Tuesday night the department posted on Facebook that they had received a helpful tip this person came in and reported anonymously to us so I don't want to disclose that but um we are looking into what he provided us and to see if it's connect us in a case or not which is why he says they also posted asking for anyone who had any interactions with mta's husband nesbot between July 28th and August 5th to contact the police department last week police conducted several searches in Manassa park Chief Lugo says they've done more since not only here in Manasses Park Manasses Prince Will County we've done them in lden FS County we did one today real small one just an area we searched that small area he says near mta's home he said while they didn't find anything Wednesday previous searches have led to some findings we found evidence that we believe it's connected to the case yet he wouldn't get into detail but says there will be more searches as they continue to get more records it's all like phone records you know Hitting off Towers um places he might go for financials you know you look into that see if was stores restaurants or anything he visited over the weekend a vigil was held for MTA by a all the pieces together on this case and bring Justice for Manta now manta's husband nesbot has been behind bars on no bonds since he was arrested on August 22nd and charged with concealing a dead body his next court date is on Friday so the investigation moves on and I think everyone would like to have a resolution by now but they've just got to keep trudging along and keep scaring places and knocking them off the list until they get to the place where allegedly well we all know he did it um where he put her cuz ain't no one else going to abduct this woman she doesn't have any other title here she's a Swiss woman she is a finalist in you know the beauty competition which is Miss Switzerland and the details of her alleged murder are I don't know if I've ever heard of anything like this before I mean I've heard of people being killed I've heard of DV I've heard of people dismembering people or something like that I have never heard of someone going to this extreme outside of our classic type serial killers like the ones we all know about from like the 60s the 70s the 80s like the ones who killed like 50 people and did some crazy type of you know stuff that that gets him into the uh folklore of crimes but this one is is very odd so they're saying here and you got to remember this is being translated from Swiss into English so it says here on the 13th of February this year a homicide occurred the alleged perpetrator is said to have strangled his wife and then chopped up the body the suspect was arrested but he applied for release from custody which he took to the federal court and they have now rejected that an appeal by the alleged perpetrator in the judgment just published further Brut brutal details of the crime have come to light according to the current status of the investigation there are concrete indications of mental illness in the case of the perpetrator according to the federal Court's ruling the man had already been turned down by the coercive measures court and the cantonal court with a request for release from custody or an appeal against a negative decision the federal court is now supporting the decision of the lower court and referring to the investigation carried out today the federal court ruling shows that the accused had already admitted to killing his wife during a crime reconstruction in March of this year this was allegedly because she had previously attacked him with a knife according to the ruling however the man had claimed at a detention Hearing in February that he had found his wife dead and he dismembered her in the laundry room in a panic however the medical for report contradicts his claim that he was acting in self-defense according to the report the woman was strangled according to the autopsy report the body was dismembered in the laundry room with a jigsaw knife and garden shears several body parts were then chopped up with a hand blender pureed and dissolved in a chemical his entire behavior on February 13th 2024 suggests that the complainant was extremely violent partly with a sadistic sociopathic traits according to the investigation so far the suspected perpetrator displayed a noticeably high level of criminal energy lack of empathy cold-bloodedness after killing his wife and attempting to cover up the crime the public prosecutor's office also revealed that the man had been violent even before the killing he is said to have grabbed a former partner by the neck with his hand hit her and pushed her up against a wall the wife had also been strangled several times during their relationship the couple had two children together and that is the article from their local news over there I had it translated uh into English uh from from Swiss so that we could uh read it properly but some words don't fully translate properly but most of them uh D the ones that didn't I just applied the correct English uh gramar for it so yeah he just found her right and then in a panic instead of calling 911 or whatever the number is over there he decided right let me grab the garden chears and a hand blender and let me dissolve her remains in chemicals I mean that's a that's a totally don't find out for ages and it's sort of what's Happening Here only small details have sort of leaked out and the only reason we have the ones from today is because of this uh rejection of the opportunity to appeal or downgrade his original um like conviction cuz he wants to get out of jail and I I want to all right let's play a little game for a second you're you've done this this is your crime okay you've been caught by the police they have a fairly good idea how you've done it and they know that you're most likely responsible for killing your loved one and then you try and say oh oh I found her and then I chopped her up cuz I was scared that people were going to say I killed her but then later on you change your story and you say no no I actually did do that because she tried to stab me with a knife now you say well hold on I want to revert to the original thing again uh the first thing I said and I want to get out of jail because I don't like it here it's kind of scary I don't get to go on walks outside with my children I don't go get to go to the park every day this weird guy keeps looking at me in my cell I think he wants something from me and you know you're asking the court to throw out your conviction or your original verdict I I I don't know how you do that so if you have an idea in the chat of how that works let me know because I don't I don't understand how you go to after all that and then try to be like excuse me you know I'd love to get out of here you think you can help me out I I I think that's bizarre Brazen lack of insight and understanding into your offending which courts are very much hate they hate when you can't understand what your offending has done or they don't like when you can't take responsibility for the crimes that you have in this very tragic and horrible way like when you when you think about it this woman was quite accomplished she' competed at the highest level in some of these beauty pageant type events and had worked some TV shows and stuff like that and then to have what she is known for is the way she left this world I think to me that's part of the biggest insult and part of the biggest crime is that her like Legacy has been tarnished in the way that she was taken from the earth Siana says my mind doesn't work that way so I can't come up with a reason what he was thinking besides he's really sick well in their judgment the justices did say that they believe there is a mental illness Factor here but uh as to what degree or as to what part of culpability could be applied to the mental illness when it friends there hold on there was a shooting down in Dallas today an ISD student among three injured in a high-rise building shooting in DFW so let's uh let's have a look at that if it'll load come on tonight we are learning more about shots fired inside of a high-rise apartment building this afternoon in Downtown Dallas we know that three people were shot including a Dallas ISD student all of this happened at the Continental at mertile Place building and our nbc5 Sophia bosle is live there right on Commerce Street with the latest Sophia Britney lots of unanswered questions tonight about what exactly happened here police aren't saying much as of right now but we spoke with people who were inside and they told us what they saw this was the scene outside a high-rise apartment building in Downtown Dallas Thursday afternoon yeah I'm I'm still like kind of like what's going on after reports of multiple people shot inside it don't make no sense that people are shoot other people dpd says the call came in around 12:15 p.m. for a shooting at the Continental building I just heard bang bang and then he jumped up and started barking but I went downstairs and I see police coming up with rifles and stuff I think I heard like three the preliminary investigation determined three people were shot at the location as neighbors waited outside while police investigated the situation residents talked about what they heard and saw and I se a guy run out the building while I was coming CL for this morning and I was trying to see if he's okay he said I'm shot so I was trying to see if he was okay but he ran out of my eyesight so I went inside the building to see if anyone and I I see the blood officers say the three victims were taken to local hospitals for their injuries but did not give an update on how they're doing in a statement from Dallas ISD the district says one of the victims is a student and is expected to make a full recovery as for the suspect police say there's no information at this time and Dallas Police didn't elaborate too much or answer any questions during a brief news conference saying it's because it's still an active investigation and Britney this evening we're still waiting on more details about about who the shooter is as well as who are the people who were involved in this incident as soon as we learn anything we will let you building in Downtown Dallas Thursday afternoon according to police and school officials there is no information from police on who pulled the trigger or if that person has been located according to the police they gave a brief statement Thursday afternoon and confirmed officers were called to the Continental at mertile Place apartment building at 1801 commer Street about 12:15 p.m. Thursday they only had limited information to share and confirmed what sources had already reported to NBC that three people had been shot and were hospitalized in unknown conditions they later confirmed in the afternoon that one of the victims was a student at Dallas ISD the district confirmed a student was hospitalized and is expected to recover but they shared no information about the students age or which school they attended during the brief remarks they said no information about the shooter or and did not say whether anyone was in custody said the investigation into the shooting was ongoing and shared nothing about a motive or where the shootings took place uh very odd right so three people are shot we can't tell you anything uh we can't tell you who did it we can't tell you why they did it we can't tell you if we know who did it where they are or if we have them in custody we just can't tell you anything oh Gambler says he's getting groceries okay oh I had that um brisket like last night barbecue brisket it was very good I plan to make more on the weekend to get my protein up um over the winter my calories dropped to like 1,000 calories a day total and that's not good when you're uh trying to put on uh more bulk and muscle it's actually worse because you're you're exercising and burning calories and you're almost like calorie deficient so that not good so get some good food Gambler get some good food actually people want to know what's in the box that I got before I told you it's some protein powder but it's not the type of protein powder that you think I have protein powder over there in a big tub I buy it in like a 2 kilo tub but this one is like if you're not Australian you won't know what a golden gay time is but uh this is gay time which sounds like a funny word gay time flavored uh protein custard it's pretty good tastes pretty good so make that up in the afternoon instead of eating junk food have that as something sweet it's pretty good stuff cake you give me a cake I'm not going to not eat it you can give me a whole cake I'll eat it I'll eat it but I just don't put any weight from it never I could eat a whole cheesecake right now I won't put on any weight I've done that my whole life I don't know why I'm 40 now I can still do it it's bizarre can eat a whole cheesecake today and won won't affect me that much it's a weird it's a weird ability it's a strange uh superpower but it makes it Troublesome when you're trying to bulk up and and actually and actually put on muscle because it's hard to do when you don't absorb calories suspicions they say KPRC 2's Bryce Newberry is live in The Newsroom tonight with everything we need to know about these cases Bryce yeah Keith 61-year-old Karen miles has been missing from Missouri City for three weeks now investigators found skeletal remains during the search for her on Monday but tonight court documents reveal the man investigators found driving her car who has been named a person of interest is also of interest in Two October cases of different stolen cars and missing people since last October 40-year-old Dustin Henderson has been missing from his North Harris County apartment my brother was a excellent brother excellent son a excellent father it's been a long nine months for his mother my heart Ms and hurts so badly I had nervous break down still desperate to know what happened to him but suspicious of someone he had recently met when my brother disappeared he disappeared he was nowhere to be found 28-year-old Devonte Clark and Henderson became friends family says Henderson sometimes stayed with Clark including two nights before he disappeared how long did your son know Devonte Clark before he disappeared they weren a couple they were getting know each other like I say they were Associates for about three weeks Henderson is still missing and months later Clark has been named a person of interest in The Disappearance of 61-year-old Missouri City mother Karen miles last heard from 3 weeks ago detectives found yet to be identified skeletal remains in this wooded area after parland police arrested Clark in Miles car with stolen Arkansas plates on it Henderson's car also disappeared when heated in October but family members say it was found in March new court records reveal Texas equa search contacted Missouri City detectives last week they referenced two Harris County cases naming Clark as a person of interest and a pair of stolen vehicle cases where the victims were never located one of them from October 24th the same day Henderson disappeared I just want to bring my baby home all I want to do is find my baby and bring him home and Clark remains in the Brazoria County Jail not charged in any of these cases tonight Texas Equis search is not commenting and law enforcement has not confirmed Devonte Clark's connection to the October disappearance of Dustin Henderson we also don't have any information on the other stolen vehicle and missing person case investigators say Clark may be connected to but tonight the Harris County Sheriff's Office office confirms it is investigating to establish any links talk about bizar you got missing Vehicles missing people possibly connected they they're probably murdered like I don't this is very strange right Rachel says this guy needs to talk sounds like he might have done something to these people definitely so I'm going to take you over here Missouri City fresh details from a search warrant filed by the Missouri City Police Department a shedding light on The Disappearance of Karen miles Karen chill 61 was reported missing by her son John on August 29th she was last seen driving her gray Ford Explorer with a Texas license plate surveillance footage from the 22nd shows her vehicle on Texas Parkway the plot thickens with the August 28 traffic stop in Pearland where police pulled over a gray Ford Explorer with Arkansas license plate the driver initially identified as mcavan Harris turned out to be Devonte Kenyata Clark 28 here's a photo of him from Brazoria County Jail Clark was charged with using a fake license plate carrying a weapon he claimed he rented the car from someone else named Joshua Marx but says uh but Mark says he hasn't been in touch with Clark at all recently adding to the concern Karen didn't show for work at FEMA on August 22nd which is out of character for her her family and friends are worried noting that her disappearance is unusual records from te uh Texas equ equisearch also show that Clark has been linked to stolen vehicle cases in the past now investigators are hoping to track Karen's last known location by reviewing her phone record Recs to find out if she was in contact with anyone before her vehicle went missing these new details from the search War underscore the urgency of the search for Karen miles and reveal possible connections to previous cases in involving Devonte Clark I find that bizarre is he carjacking people and taking their vehicle and then getting rid of them is very concerning I mean I can get why the family is so worried there's a photo of the alleged person who might be uh connected now KP kprc2 or click to Houston released another video just in the last hour and that one is a friend of the family is sharing a last known conversation with Karen and what she said so I'm going to play that here KPRC 2's courtly appeal continues to follow the investigation Into The Disappearance of a Missouri City woman Karen miles the 61-year-old was last seen and heard from three weeks ago and only on two a woman shares the last time she spoke with miles before she vanished detectives found remains during a search for Karen miles on Monday but they have not been identified yet a person of interest is in custody kprc2 reporter corle Peele joins us live once again from the Missouri City Police Department with what Karen miles's friend is saying about the last time they spoke corle Karen miles was passionate about volunteering and her friend tells me they were both devoted to helping women in demestic violence situation she says that conversation that they had might have been one of the last ones she had with her before she disappeared but she is hoping she can get answers for her friend she had a big personality she was full of life she was as we all call her the social butterfly three weeks ago Dr KY Terell sent her friend Karen miles a text reminding her about their volunteer meeting on Zoom did you ever think that would be the last time you would hear from her no that was August 21st Terell says the meeting ended around 9:35 p.m. she text me right after and she had been late getting on and she said hey I'm late uh but I'm going to contact the gay event director darel tomorrow and make sure you know me so I do my part make sure I know what I what you need and I said okay thank you so much love you bye Terrell says miles was at her apartment she posted on Facebook around 10:35 that night but no one has heard from her since did anything seem off about her demeanor out of character nope not at all miles never showed up for work the next day 3 days later police arrested 26-year-old Devonte Clark after he was found in her car with stolen license taxs he was arrested on unrelated charges but considered a person of interest during their search for Miles detectives found skeletal remains in this wooded area on Monday more than four miles away from Karen miles apartment I'll leave it there the rest of the video is not of any interest if this guy really is going around and somehow carjacking people or stealing their vehicle while they're well it has to be a car jack because they're in the vehicle and they're missing too why not just boot them out the vehicle why do you have to kill them to get the vehicle that is very strange I really don't get it um yeah I it's it's odd it's odd why you go go to those extremes to just get a vehicle you can car jack a vehicle all the time you could steal a vehicle in about 2 seconds with a uh skeleton key or an RF recorder then it's not hard to do and there must be something else here unless this person is just deranged they said here they said right right now Clark has not been charged in connection with mil's death the Fort Ben County Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy which will identify the remains they found and hopefully a cause of death they said yeah the family's just confused why he would be driving her car with different license plates and then if he is connected to the other men uh the male they went missing you got this guy who might have been wandering around Texas and Arkansas and who knows where else abducting people in their Vehicles very very odd uh Angela says it might be the guy remains I think it more it'd be more like using the person he murdered cars you recog that it or do you think he wants the cars or do you think he's a murderer who gets the cars as a bonus it's odd though he's been he's been associated with previous stolen vehicles so I almost want to say he's a he's a booster he's a car booster and for some reason he now feels like he first video which is here the investigation into what happened to a Missouri Missouri City woman continues a day after remains believed to be hers were found in a field four miles from her home uh but they're saying here 3 days before the police were notified about her disappearance 28-year-old Clark was arrested by perland police he was found to be driving miles's car bearing a stolen license plate from Arkansas and then they said he was arrested on charges related to the stolen vehicle but not her disappearance the email stated the agency had two investigations dated October 24th 2023 October 26 2023 where a subject with the same name and same address was a person of interest in a pair of stolen vehicle cases where the victims were never located that is interesting ABC 13 is working to learn more about the missing person cases and where they stand today we heard a little bit about one but there could be a couple more this guy might may have been operating for [Music] when he was shot it happened just outside a house in rural Jefferson County in the 23,000 block of pleasant Park Road in Conifer your reporter Alan J visited that house today and Allen that teenager is alive but the suspect is not being charged with attempted murder well that is true right now Karen first of all the 17-year-old let's talk about him he is still in a hospital tonight and he has serious injuries while the man accused of shooting him 38-year-old Brent Mets is already out of jail on a $5,000 Bond the charges first deegree of assault felony menacing as well as illegal discharge of a firearm there is no doubt it is beautiful property Scenic land with a pond a home and an out building that attracted the 17-year-old and a 15-year-old friend so they sought permission to take homecoming photos there was there neighbors like Lee and Ness are stunned by what happened oh I can't believe it I can't believe it I did hear The Gunshot Kathleen cucher is still trying to understand jolting it's a still a strange story that doesn't seem to make a lot of sense so it just has everybody um uneasy including the Sheriff's office there doesn't appear to be any malicious intent whatsoever these two kids were driving around trying to find a great spot to take pictures for homecoming they did go over the fence where there are no trespassing signs and up to the house to ask for permission but no one was home on cameras the homeowners spotted them and called the sheriff so they turned around and left they went straight back to their car and they started to write a note to the homeowners to ask for permission they were going to leave it behind sitting in an Audi by the road on public property when homeowner Brent Mets showed up says Jackie Kelly of the Sheriff's Office did the homeowner believe they were robbing them there was no indication of that Mets an elected member of the Town Council of Mountain View came out of his truck unholstered a gun and fired through the windshield says an arrest affidavit did the kid say anything to him to agitate him no there was no conversation nothing no in the affidavit the uninjured teenager says Mets swore and said his gun went off but investigators have problems with metz's action believing at this point that he was not under threat they're really difficult circumstances for all of us to understand now metch would tell deputies nothing about the shooting instead asking for a lawyer the Sheriff's Office underscores that he was not on his own property at the time and besides says the Sheriff's Office you were not allowed to use under Colorado law deadly force to defend property only are you allowed to use deadly force if you believe there is a chance of harm to you or someone else you know this one reminds me very much of do you remember there was a a case where a woman drove into a man's driveway and he shot and killed her and uh he said it was self-defense because someone was coming to get him and he was a paranoid old cook and he was like ah you know I have a right to defend me property and they were like bro she was doing a U-turn like she she wasn't doing anything she was literally trying to turn her car around to get away if you'd waited two seconds she would have driven away from your home and he end up being done with it so this sort of reminds me of the same thing although this is a uh like an authoritarian figure like a a cop I find that disturbing that someone would be so free and loose with their with their service weapon that they're just like oh let me let me shoot a teenager who's doing like prom stuff like it's ridiculous they said here a homeowner is facing serious allegations of shooting a teenager through the windshield of a car parked on a road outside of the homeowner's Colorado property on Tuesday the teenage boy was taken to hospital where he remained Wednesday evening with serious injuries 38-year-old Brent Mets a town council member in tiny Mountain View in Jefferson County is charged with first-degree assault a legal discharge of a firearm two count each of felony menacing and reckless endangerment a misdemeanor here's his photo here um you're looking awfully red Buddy says here the 17-year-old and a 15-year-old friend had been on the homeowner's property seeking permission do you see this word here seeking permission they were doing the right thing if you want to be on someone's property what do you do you knock on their door and kindly ask hey do you mind if I do X Y and Z so that is very sweet that they they they were brought up the right way they were trying to do the right thing and respect the man's property that's what they were actually doing they were respecting his home and this guy decided like hey let me shoot you in the face uh the teenagers told the deputies they stopped outside of property in the 23,000 block of pleasant Park Road around 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday they jumped over the fence and tried to locate the homeowner to ask if they could take High School homecoming photos at their property when no one answered they told authorities they walked to an out building where they heard music and found no one some Mountain residents with livestock leave music playing to scare away Predators when they couldn't find anyone they assumed no one was home and returned to their car the sheriff's office said seeing the teenagers on camera one of the residents called law enforcement saying the teens were trespassing Jefferson County spokesperson Jackie Kelly said there was no indication from the caller that they were being robbed we were headed up there on an unwanted party on the property investigators say the teen shared that they were in their Audi parked along the road writing a note to the homeowners to ask for permission when a pickup driven by Mets pulled up at an angle blocking their departure that's very important and will be important during the CT case the fact that he denied them a way to escape that's not self-defense and that's not protection of your property that is actually uh now you are the position of power and you are now blocking the exit from your area you will never ever ever get self-defense for that ever because you're now flipping that power imbalance onto your side and you're actually showing that now you are detaining them so any kind of Defense you have for like hey I was just defending X Y and Z you'll never get it you'll I've seen a few cases where people tried to claim that and absolutely got rolled at court for it where you when you flip that power Dynamic all bets are off and you are no longer protected unless for some reason you're in a state where they have some castle doctrine where you can defend for it's normally under threat of life or something like that or Breakin or something like that not for kids coming over to ask if they could take prom photos like they weren't they weren't armed they didn't have weapons they didn't have bats they didn't have guns this guy just seems like a hotthead uh in the process of writing that note yep that person is identified by the sheriff's office as met sorry I thought he was a cop I don't know why he's not a cop he's a council member or whatever what is he he's a he's a some sort of something for the city council oh he's a yeah Town council member so he works for the city there we go um they said investigators say the teen Shar that they were in their Aldi they got blocked in the person is identified as Mets there was no conversation between the two parties according to police Mets did not explain why the teenager were shot to deputies but insisted on talking to a lawyer of course an arrest affid David indicates that the 17-year-old victim says he did not think met shot him intentionally hold on guys e sorry it's far too early down here I don't normally do my show quite this early so I'm getting all my morning packages uh they saying here he the teenager heard hold on let's go back to here in the affidavit the 17-year-old victim says he did not think met shot him intentionally his 15-year-old friend told authorities he heard the gun go off and saw the windshield glass shatter before he ducked down he heard me say oh s my gun went off uh-huh that that always happens right the 15-year-old took off his shirt and ran around to his friend to render Aid applying pressure to his friend's wounds he told authorities Mets tried to assist in rendering aid but he pushed him away and asked why he had shot his friend they said there is nothing so far that we have learned that would cause us to believe that this was that there was any intent to commit crimes and that they were doing anything that would be malicious or criminal other than St across the fence she pointed out that under Colorado law it is not legal to use deadly force in defense of property uh only if there is reason to believe that there will be harm to oneself or others addressing a specific question about charges against Mets if the gun went off accidentally Kelly noted that Mets was not charged with attempted first-degree murder he was booked into Jefferson County Sheriff's Office on a $5,000 Bond our office requested a cash only Bond but the courts gave Mets a PR Bond uh that type of bond means a defendant signature acts as a promise to appear in court he bonded out Wednesday so basically yeah he can just sign himself out uh Mets was sworn in last year as a town council member in Mountain View his term runs until 2027 Mountain View's mayor declined to comment on the investigation referring questions to the town's administrator who did not respond for comment Mets his due back in court on Monday he did not return a phone call from CBS asking about the incident I wouldn't I wouldn't ask about or reply about the incident either if I was him uh I would I'm very concerned about how he would like to defend this yeah please wait until we get to the uh aliens uh Tia says I would not give him Bond fortunately no one died and it wasn't they only charged him with a misdemeanor so Rachel says I just don't understand these people we had an older gentleman a few weeks done with a higher one you can get done for 48 years in prison and a fine of $55,000 to $1 million so it has a wide ranging penalty unit system that you can get done with I wouldn't expect a 40-year sentence for this but it is multiple years uh medical bills will be high that's a civil unless they want to push it through where some sort of damage is but um they may have to go through a civil case things he's done um but as a pure True Crime kind of content type of thing I love his press conferences I think he uh takes it from very there's so many people who do press conferences in True Crime that are so boring they literally sit there and they talk like this so on Thursday we went you know we excavated a place it was about 7:20 in the morning we found a bone and I called the medical examiner you know they came took about 5 hours and then we took that for testing we we had to wait like 5 weeks for that and then we got the results we were looking for but I can't tell you any more than that at least he makes it sort of entertaining there's some people who cannot public speak for the life of them can't add any emotion into their uh speaking like they couldn't hold the crowd if they tried but hey that's not their job their job is to find criminals and solve cases so I know people people wanted me to when I when I left webu people were saying you should open a comedy channel not a true crime Channel and I was like uh all my jokes that I normally do are just really filthy and really dirty and I was like I don't think anyone want to subscribe for that I don't think anyone wants to hear like I don't think anyone wants to hear like Nicki min lyrics but as jokes from a white guy I don't think anyone wants that I don't think I don't think anyone's going to pay for that they might pay Nicki Minaj for that but they a't going to pay me for that so you just get a little bit of it throughout my uh live shows uh Laura says yeah leave comments for her hey I'm going to wind
