Crew He particularly enjoyed Reg Western hip hop and R&B calyo and the list goes on over the years Mr Brad Charles would furnish him with flash drives of Music compiled with his selections of various songs to keep him company when we were out on vacation it would be remiss of me not to share as well that he was a huge football fan especially of Brazil for that reason he would be visibly seen as he always paraded the school wearing the bright yellow green and orange jerseys and polos I pause now to share a quote that resonates we don't miss people by accident they are meant to cross our path for a reason in sep December 1997 St Katherine and I first met at the vfor comprehensive secondary campus a new dark Road view in my opinion he was a respectful simple trustworthy individual and had the highest of regard for me my advice concern love and care develops between us a friendship for a lifetime during his bfcs campus a and bcss experiences Mr St caffine or stew or daddy stew exhibited kindness with his individualized brand of dedication his unwavering support touched every student and staff member with his personality and colored clothing he made our school a bright cleaner and happier place his genuine warmth and cheerful Spirit which he tried to hide at times will forever be cherished and remembered who was butan St cathery according to his colleagues past and present despite his turbor ways he was an extremely helpful individual especially for assembly time time he was a pleasant colleague he had a good working relationship with Mr ivn but the sist caretaker Mr DM and Mr Francis at campus a and at bcss it was Mr Vivian poot Mr Raymond benoa Mr Desy mle and of course Mr Lionel and Mr Alan Augustine always willing to assist he did not condone discrimination he he was empathetic and was a good listener always ready to have a little social was jovial and enjoyed laughter he had a very good sense of humor always in High Spirits an easygoing calm friendly good person always wore a smile never saw him angry he radiated Simplicity and humidity according to the students past and present had a good rapport with the majority of students in and out of school he would accompany them to the baraba when they were sent to get a haircut he would get lunch orders go to the doctor with them even accompanied them to the police station when on suspension time he was a confident to students they would share things they couldn't share with other staff members I must also make special mention of some of his Darlings Miss Sabina Braille Miss Jasmine Alexander now Mrs Peters along with Miss poina and Miss who would be in his company at the lunch table in the campus days Miss urania Miss petrona under the Gazebo and Mrs asso and Miss Avery Alexander Miss Fel and Miss Dundas who will all miss you among the many more of the extended staff thank you all for loving St Catherine no more e e no more SNS no more pican lives no more sfish Sparrow was his greatest lover no more I hear you no more yeah right no more cool and easy as the wind blows no more girly girl no more angelical and the many more phrases which uplifted US daily to his remaining four siblings his brother and three sisters including Lita St Catherine his aunt Mara rals who had him his darling nie love of his life Tiffany Victor the Smith family his many relatives and Friends The approached all given task with a heart full of empathy and a spirit committed to service I honor you Mr St Catherine as the respectful individual you will your willingness to go beyond the Call of Lord Jesus Christ most time as human beings we don't take much time to acknowledge and appreciate and treat others as human beings sometimes we take advantage of these persons and we treat them as nothing we tend to look down on people around us at every interval we have an added advantage over them we treat them as nobody it is important for us to know that when people begin to treat you like that don't forget remember that we have a single calling and the only calling we have is for us to understand that we are all the children of God the Sons and Daughters of God so somebody look at you and treat you as a nobody don't fight back welcome that person's treatment in faith and move on because at the end it will not be you who will be fighting with that person at the end but God who has created us and has given each and every one of us that dignity that we deserve will take charge of that situation but if you turn around to fight it you will be missing the point and the blessing that should have come your way by this I am not saying we should act stupid in the presence of other person I not saying we should submit ourself sheepishly for the bad treatment coming from people when you notice it is not going well with you to take some steps back and stay away from that kind of environment because if you insist on it it will destroy you we look at people and we categorize people based on where they come from what achieved in life which is what the society has made up to believe in today if you are rich person no matter what you do we take it and swallow it and keep quiet but if you're not rich that the little things you have been doing the contribution you are giving to the society the moment you are not able to do it people will begin to Grumble and make noise about you and that is how we have be made by the society to accept what is going on in the in life people might treat you as bad as anything but don't treat them bad if you have opportunity to treat them good treat them good and that is why Jesus in The Gospel actually specifically sites in my own teaching to you in the Old Testament you were Tau that when somebody slap you on the right cheek you you should slap that person back when somebody ask you to go one mile you should resist that kind of treatment but in my new teaching to you when somebody slap you on the right cheek turn the left one for that person to slap you when somebody ask you to go one mile go two miles with that person when somebody will borrow from you without paying back give the person without asking this is a new teaching that has an implication that requires so the grace of God for us to be able to understand what Jesus is talking about now looking at the personality of our brother who served us well I was a student myself and you know as teachers you might not know this but some of you might not have opportunity to know this but the student are so quick in giving names to teachers it depends on the first their face encounter with you they will give you the name based on that and as students they are so smart if you are not so careful as a teacher you are there with them they'll be talking about you you think they talking about somebody else for the student to accept who you are completely and give you 100% you are such an exceptional person and this our brother lying in that piece of wood based on my the testimony that I have gathered so far from students and some of the staff members and the people in the community the students gave him 100% And the scripture actually specifically SP it it says that whatever we agree here on Earth if we tie it down here it is considered tied in heaven if we loose it here it considered Loos in heaven so the testimony of humanity here created the image and likeness of God stand there on behalf of our brother as we have gathered here to celebrate his life it is important that our brother live a life that reflects the gospel we have just heard this afternoon taking from The Gospel Matthew 25 from verse 31-46 Jesus's uh experience of us human beings he did not hide it away from us he told us right from time that will be judgment and on the last day of judgment I am not going to use things use things so abstract to judge you I am going to use things that you negr to do them your day-to-day living the activities that you have come encounter with every day in your life these are the common things that you refuse to carry out that I am going to use them on the last day to treat you and if you are qualified to go into my father's Kingdom then you will Merit that but if you are not qualified you deserve the punishment and you go to where those who have been punished supposed to go and Jesus specifically says the treatment that we give to others is something that will be used on the last day to judge us if you treat somebody well then on the last day that will be the the the the mark of qualification for you to enter into God's kingdom and that is one thing that our brother did sitting at that gate at the school there he was able to treat the students both those who came from poor families and those who came from Rich families he treated them equally he did not SE separate any child he did not treat any child based on oh I know your father coming from shanty town or I know your father coming from the V from the town or I know I know your father coming from this area I I know you or I know this persons he treated all of us who went into who who had encounter with him in that institution equally if by any chance he took it for granted and treated any of you the way you were not looking out for that is Being Human none of us is perfect but our testimony this afternoon should stand to qualify our brother to be able bble to see the kingdom of God as poorly as sometimes we evaluate people let us also understand that no matter what people do to us we should remember our beautiful existence our beautiful calling and the beauty of our calling is that we are all Sons and Daughters of God so when you look at a human being and treat that person in a nasty way automatically you are actually treating God in a nasty way when you look at another a human whole human being and treat that person well fine you are treating God in a very beautiful way and that is why Jesus in The Gospel says that on the last day he is going to put it before us I was hungry you refused to give me food I came several time on that gate asking who is here to open the gate for me you refuse to open it for me or I came there on several occasion trying to taste you I went in I did not do anything drove out of the the compound without doing anything and every time I came on that gate you open the gate for me with a smile on your face so therefore the key of the kingom is right here take it and open it and go in with a smile on your face some of us as it is every opportunity we have in every area we we exist so we we try to take advantage of on others and that is why any small opportunity we have we exercise our powers on others he had every opportunity to exercise his powers on that gate or and in that school locking the school uh the the classrooms and having the keys in his pocket and walking away without contacting anybody he would have been able to do that when others will arrive there and will be confused he would have he had the opportunity to treat everybody that school bad may he never did it and that is one thing one Legacy that he's Left Behind for us starting with us the the the staff members down to the students and most of us who had encounter with him let us emulate this quality that our brother left behind for us it doesn't take so much to do something good to somebody just little things matters in life sometimes you are just passing by and you see somebody and you just say to that person good morning or good afternoon or good evening that alone means a lot to that person you don't know the battle that that person might have been going through at that moment that you greeted him or her you actually took that person away from that battle and brought that person back to life may if only you pass and you look at that person and you say why you looking so disgusting I have nothing concerning you so even my greetings are not going to GRE with you so you walk past you allow the person to go and wallow in that that difficulties and die in it automatically you do not hear that person so it doesn't take so much to do good to somebody just greet him alone and I I always remind people is the smile on your face will bring a lot of changes in the lives of others and everything you do and every assignment God give you on Earth to carry out carry it out wholeheartedly don't do it grudgingly as if you are being forc and being compared to do it do it with happiness and that happiness you and the Z you put into that automatically will change the moods and the situation of other persons who we have encounter with you at that moment today most of us are in this church we do not know him personally some of us heard about the story about him some of us just saw him in that school and some of us had a personal encounter with him but had they been those encounter were nasty encounters it would have none of us would have been here just once it takes one single person to father we too might live in the newness of what life it is important for us to understand that with the baptism that we receive the purification of the original sins took away the the the hindrance for for you not to enter into the kingdom of God so if you do anything little you only using that as a stepping stone to inherit that Kingdom today as we pray for the soul of our brother to rest in peace let us take this let me take this time to also console the family members I will begin with you the family members and also the staff members and basically the students who at different intervals might have taken the story of our brother share with their parents at home how he they came late to the school but he treated them so well in entering into that school how some of the parents actually came to the school there but he actually took his time to welcome them at the gates he became a a a a the water that could actually quench the fire that some parents would use at the gate to coming into that school to actually buring down that school but with him at that gate he became the water that will quench that fire by this I mean sometimes maybe a decision is taken in the school that the parents are not so happy about it coming with that fire and anger to P it on the principal and the staff members meeting him at the gates he had the capacity to do what to quench that fire with his presence so it was that he left here on Earth and now there's a vacuum that has been created in that place the question now is who is going to take that place who is going to live that kind of life that our brother live until death we pray that God our Father will console you and through our prayers he will grant him Eternal rest into his kingdom through Christ Our Lord amen for
