I've been enjoying the footy silently because my teams haven't been winning but now I got to jump on and support the boys so thanks for having me on again ah nice yeah good episode of you and uh s and Bobby um when I was away as well so um yeah good to have you back on board hopefully s joins us later on as well um he's on the night Chef on M gr so fing in for him tonight guys thanks ni um how you been anyway yeah good man I've got um got a new baby almost three months now so not getting much sleep and also trying to you know I've been stepping back a bit for the podcast trying to do help out the family and stuff so I can only jump on when I can but yeah now been good man yourself how you been ah yeah good bro yeah yeah just um same me just busy of work so it's been good to try and just be try and keep these on keep the see can jump on so good to have different voices different opinions too yep um always better over a few more though so um hopefully if the boys jump on um they can come with their views uh as you mentioned it's been a been a hard few weeks for for us Warriors fans I see you been sporting your New South Wales year lately so got a final winner recently um let's get straight into it man round 25 any three more rounds of the regular season um man season's come right at the end already so trying to enjoy these last few few weeks now we're down to the last couple of months and I know how quiet it gets on the weekends as soon like just kind of there's so much sport on come so many games and then it all gets pulled away and then you're kind of totl in your thums waiting for the next season so uh yeah these next few weeks will be full on so I'm going to try and enjoy them as much as I can try fre out my weekend calendar so can get in front of some of these games too y um especially this last week bro let's just quickly um Round 24 Awards go to our is C Awards our All Eyes award for your player of the week who stood out to the over the weekend from the games you watched BR yeah not too much a player there was all eyes on me moment that I really liked so I'll give my award to um Miko from the the paramedic eels so there was this moment um quite late on in the game between the the roosters and the eels and I think the score was 38-8 so the game was already gone at that point but you know Tedy he catches this attacking bomb and he starts sprinting for the Trine and you see mik AO he Sprints across from the opposite wing and he makes this tackle and he holds Teddy up in goal yes yeah now in the context of the game it didn't matter and you'd sort of forgive a guy for giving up on that that type of play as the game was effectively over but you know SEO he's been criticized in the past for his effort areas and spent some time in reserve grade because of it so him to make those efforts um you know he came off the bench in that game and I can see in the team list this week you know he's been named to start and I think that effort play from him that earned him a recall to the starting lineup so those little 1 percenters I'll give him a all eyes on me this week that's a nice call out to Michaela because yeah just not seeing him for a few weeks and um almost like a shadow of what he used to be um kind of coming in late to the game too kind of forgotten that he was part of that uh that eels framework so yeah that's a nice mention also for your uh All Eyes um shouting out to yeah the E don't get a lot of love too on this podcast and I know we got some e supporters who are part of the um are part of our Network as well so give them one one little glimmer of hope there nice so did you see that about um like there's like some fan must be like popular fan on online but he like called out GTH and then Jo replied to him and he's like well stop supporting us oh what people H how's it going yourie IO bro bit late mate you just finished training yeah sorry man we kicked off all good all good yeah tigy yeah it looks like it isy one win one win put on the game so we do live oh second you man hello man nice to be here yeah we just kicked off man we we only just got in through our introductions um you're just saying how poor your efforts are coming this late but it's all right um we just finished doing all lies so um I'll go to mine give you a bit of bit of time to settle in um so my all lies for the weekend probably um more so just his effort and bouncing back um and also with the announcement of him moving over to the dragons Valentine homes um he was horrible against the Broncos so it was nice to see him find some form um yeah and just just some of the things he did in that game that catch of kind of a weird Crossfield kick that he that he picked up on the Fly um just some real good moments from Valentine in that game so my All Eyes goes to to him after yeah the game against Broncos last week um how about you Alie what you got there man yeah bro um first of all Stace this is not a taret this is I'm ripping The Crushers Union here so uh shout out to them dolphins dolphins Feer Titans but um I don't know bro I had um I don't know what what you see taste but did anyone mention um that hammer versus um Fox race the chase down yeah that'll be my uh eyes um all eyes on me play the week award man just like two three years ago Fox probably SC there day bro but um just how cool you know we've been talking about the this idea bring racing um but um yeah yeah fox looks a bit built and muscled up now away these days and he looked like he was carrying a he's had an injury plague season but [ __ ] the ham I gave him it looked like a h start like [ __ ] but he last five meters man he just caught up just shifted into fifth gear man that was a mean try saving tickle man especially when you watch the highlights but like that when you when it's happening live and even the camera angles it was just like sit on Ed you just usually that's like watching him score from like way out like oh man and when they change angles Hammer come across like ohly it was like that try he scored um taking the bomb right on near his try line bro and he just [ __ ] burned everyone it was like that that kind of moment but on defense and plus that 101 man I don't know um Fox not 100% but both Hy I'd like to see yeah man [ __ ] um he's so smooth hey he looks real natural when he runs he looks like he's like stor in second third gear man but when he turns on that um [ __ ] puts it down to Top Gear man got that acceleration speed just um I put my money on him if if the Dolphins I I don't know I'm not I wouldn't pick them for Grand Final bro but the F lines up he'll take my money F yeah we last week it stes um as I don't know if you're allowed to take the uh Speech the champion of the par side of the family but uh not anymore did you hear that trailer bro come out and um rubbishing it and he's got like Sab and a couple other athletes um 30 trains he was like oh none of my boys would be taking P this but what a s guy he like come on he just the Traer manican sub would be as a sprinter any incentives for guys to line up yeah yeah see the hammer though shars he makes you think hey if he turned around and chase braon best in origin they might have won the series but it's could be asked so yeah it doesn't thing even turbo like I don't know if Turbo's got speed anymore like if he's yeah too scared to try and push put your on both Us in I'd go sa Sab in in 100 he's he's said L yeah I like his um catch up on the second half of the race his I think it was tweet or something Mr John line was like I won't be rushing I'll be I'll be um I'll be playing on that day is the reserve grade team going not be H all right let's jump over to your uh k k Awards St anyone uh any team or person stand out to you this week yeah I got a bit of a different one but um man I'm going to have to give it to myselfie [ __ ] I was watching my wife she had some family stuff so she took off down the line and for a couple of days to the kids so I had to work so I stayed back up here in Oakland and had the house to myself so I thought I'll uh have a few beers watch some empty out the clip on YouTube and stuff and after that our first episode of the 12540 show for the year came on after and me new tons man quite bullish for the season after the Warriors performance in 2023 Simon mate you not you full of Hope yeah full of Hope for the Broncos for this year but my preseason prediction was Warriors Broncos Grand Final and that is over before it even started I'm like [ __ ] give myself award just for that guy a prediction can't come on a podcast do a league podcast you gu predictions like that epode round and season you and the [Laughter] Warriors and yeah had to turn it off I was getting sick an embarrassment watching that [ __ ] I was like all right so who you uh Who you calling out for your k k award this week and then I'd hope to do this because you know I don't want to be one of those officials again but they get they get one for that game bro this loing call that the knights got screwed on but then U they had footage um of what's his name missing that shot P that they did close up and wasn't even over but you know in the first half of the um extra time B got the ball boom and then those two Defenders they weren't really even doing anything buto they're just standing right there um but one they they play it back they missed the offside they're like [ __ ] a meter in front of the referee everyone is his referees [ __ ] too scared chicken [ __ ] to call out offside so wi to play the ball um but yeah man they missed there and um I don't know bro I don't know if that's blocking you know what I mean like with these guys they're they're not um going out as long as you're not running out of your line to stop someone but if you're there you don't have to move for anyone to get around you know I just thought they missed a couple of penalties they could have blew up there like I seen they're offside and um that could be U the chances [ __ ] the knights screwing their season eh well yeah yeah I think that was why so crucial that was a season defining game for them um and you think they were on side as well they they behind the hooker so you could make an argument that their potential is the potential for them to receive the yeah yeah playing a short ball so you know I don't what's the difference between a decoy Runner and a a blocker particularly if they don't interfere with the play like you mentioned s well they there option to run so where Go Can't Stop teams playing rugby league men they're in support particular if they could make the argument I was really to cat the ball over there as the option which iers and dumy halfes they're chicken [ __ ] bro but you can see A and B Defender flying out the line man have a dummy have a go man yeah right and especially if those guys aren't there the half back there it's obvious that it's going you got you know another thing it gets a bit boring bro it's your time is just set up for goal and um can dve yeah yeah just have the T yeah good call there nice um M K we're going to go outside of the uh rounds of rugby league actually I was looking around um we're actually going to go over to Vanuatu to uh Nan nio uh bowling his three no balls and six sixes um for yeah for the s in the T20 to pick up a record score in T20 um unfortunate for the uh got to National yeah it was a great effort from him but I don't know how you bowled such a horrible over oh was that T versus vanu yeah yeah the one where the kid got for T20 39 cuz he six balls he must have like no balls cuz six sixes and maximum if you hit sixes on every ball and over it's 36 right yeah well the record yeah that's guy threw three three no balls but that's the thing so there was one dot ball in the over even he had a do Ball but then he had three no balls and one of those got smacked for a six and came seven off so fortunately that b is my guill of the week all right let's head to uh quick Shaun Johnson Stadium headlines um firstly the uh naming of the stadium for tomorrow night's encounter for the Warriors versus the Broncos uh it'll be a sendoff for sha Johnson's retirement the renaming giio Stadium have given nameing rights to Shan Johnson Stadium uh your thoughts on that side great honor for the man oh that's awesome bro and um if I'm corrected that's the last game of the season e at home yeah yeah last home game as well yeah no man fully deserved bro he's a legend man well I don't know he's up he's up there with Stacy but in terms of number s i sty Jones just a little bit above them you know I think like uh Grand Final EJ just didn't get over the line it's coming the the faith is coming but um it's just reward bro like I see he deserve it man he's he's a real it's cool it's called who they got Dolphins doggies doggies oh surely aome bro [Music] STW R last week hope they do I hope they do for those and uh Sean Johnson has a big one will be smiling smiling down on that yeah Stace your thoughts on the stadium yeah I like it it's a nice touch you know sj's always been a bit of a rod for criticism when it comes to his time with the Warriors but if you look back in his career he's in the top five best ever Warriors in my opinion I probably think he's the third best warrior with everad so I'm glad he gets a who's your top five I've got Stacy Jones's number one and I've got Simon maning number two so I'll put uh ESTJ third probably after those two in terms of their things but um it's a nice touch that Stadium I like it there's this thing we talked about this s b where um in the The Warriors supporters Facebook page in the seventh minute they want to do a standing evation for him where you know to honor him as number seven just for a whole minute we're sort of laughing hope they're not doing what everyone's cheering while AR cars are getting run in [Laughter] the get get him off yeah so it's always been HJ he's always when they're going well he gets a lot of the credit and when he they going poor gets a lot of the flame but I yeah I think he's the third best just my own personal opinion our third best ever player yeah true yeah that's fair Stacy and then um mening he was a soldier man they done something like this previously for anyone going out I'm not sure it's a good question they're doing a lot more now I feels like than they used to do but um which is good cuz you know people put their hard and soul into the Jersey so good to see have some Legends he should have been a one Club guy I think as well I don't know what happened that time with the sharks how that all unfolded was pretty pretty stin but yeah he wasn't getting yeah yeah but um you know I think he played what 200 game or games just in the Warriors colors so he deserves a send off I hope they get a win for him too Changing Points System ni all right you spoke about it earlier so just with the those calls that are kind of cut through for the games um because Roth threw it around um concept of maybe changing the scoring system so that these teams you know they work hard um and they get nothing out of it well like some of the guys thought they was Merit in it your thoughts what do you mean soring system like um four drop goals uh no no like just in terms of like you you only get two points or one for a draw or nothing for a loss he's there needs to be something when it gets th close for these teams um I don't know I don't know bro I don't know how that changes the point scoring but uh I thought about it um when they uh what's his name Wayne Bennett interview been and he's like a fan just scrapping the whole [ __ ] thing no but I get it from perspective it's um the excit it's excitement and when it comes down to the competition like you can't split a Premiership you got to go find a winner but um it's just it's just a really it's just a to coin E bro whether it's whether you get you know can come down to a mistake but um set for set if you can get in range you got a decent kicker man it's um most teams um I don't know bro yeah I was just uh there was a lot of sit on the fence answer bro but uh maybe or just split if there's no if you after five minutes each way just split the one point yeah that's that'll be fair yeah I don't know St St what she'll take on that I I do get where he's coming from cuz we probably do some reviews but you think that um the Cowboys won by 40 they get two points and then we're talking about that um you bought up that game earlier s that kns that nights uh Sharks game you know these guys slogging it out for 85 minutes a one point win after all that and they get two points as well it feels like some two points is a bit more harder than others so I think there might be some Merit to it I part of doesn't like it because you know you think about Super Rugby I've seen teams with more wins not make it because another team got more bonus points yeah and that's where it sort of gets a bit Mooky I would hate to see that type of thing unfold because it should ultimately boil down to wins and losses not all these other extraits and Bobs that you want to cheuck in there yeah yeah you're right yeah because I think that's something that um Super Rugby I was so confused like how Canterbury had such a horrible season yet right that's a good example right there right at the end and I'm like oh did I miss some games with they suddenly got good but yeah no it was just the way the the MTH worked and the way the comp ran right so yeah I get it I I probably understand why he thinks that but yeah just those the things that roll off from it probably get a bit too difficult later on people understand um the latest Immortal Ron C I don't know Immortals vs Hall Of Fame much about him uh probably a bit before my time probably playing you're in your 20s St so you probably have a bit more context to him but your thoughts on the announcement last night come you stay I don't know if youve yeah a bit before my time but I think he was part of there was that dragons team that won like 11 strike this is pre NRL pre- Winfield cup and I think he was a big part of that team so his record really Stacks up and we sort of I heard the argument that you know we're getting to the point where running out of people who have seen these guys play so everyone everyone's always like yeah sweet put cam Smith in or whoever you want local guys cuz people have watched them but guys like Ron C none of us watched them I think he played in the 60s and early 70s yeah so you know it's starting to get hard to put some of these older players in just because we don't have people who W were alive to watch them so I actually don't mind just honoring some more of those older players because you think you like Ron C he was the 60s and C but they have there was no one else who was nominated who was before that you think about all the gun players who there would have been heaps who played before that who no one really remembers so I like the idea of honoring the past and then giving before giving some of these new guys ago so from that perspective even though I couldn't really comment on us playing I'm happy they did that yes sir you know much about the guy yeah bro n just what's um you know just what's written about him and um um what uh J have said he he's a bunnies Legend bro he's uh played for the South bunnies and um the Eastern suburbs um in the 60s and 70s so it's cool because these people are these are my these are the what they call Boomers bro you know the generation still around and it's really cool and I think it's good that if you're starting this well they did they did the other way around right they did the murals and now they got the Hall of Fame but once you start they start getting a whole pool of Hall of Fame Hall of fam is it's got this extra another competition not competition but level for the modals and um yeah I think then you might start seeing um players from the the 80s and 90s cuz even the ' 80s for me there's plenty more you can put in bro hey like sterlo it'd be a favorite for mine to be ni Immortal um Alfie but um yeah bro no it's just good it's just good for if you look at the um his record and what he's done um I guess he was you know you don't have much footage out of those guys probably none at all yeah like probably not not getting too technical of how the actual thing works what do you think um separates a Hall of Famer from an immortal yeah I don't know and good to know um I heard something about um the process where um but then and John's come out and say him M and Wally who are in the c um they don't get any say or no on touch base with them about what you know their their thoughts would be who should be the next one kind of thing no it's kind of like you know you start building this Hall of Fame and now and it's a mixture too of media and and it's weird how they just put Andrew John straight in there long after he retired but um you know what the process around that would be it's it's interesting like who who uh gets to say like is it it seems just random me the errors they got M was the last one but does that mean is his is his era now and Wally and all that that's done and start looking forward to the lock and and 2000s yeah guess that's the thing any time you would think yeah do you know much on the context this like how what how they differentiate what what makes someone become an immortal well I think the Immortals is at this stage at least only players okay so the Hall of Fame we had Wayne Bennett was um inducted I think they've had some other guys who were like you know 50 years of media coverage I think RBS might be in there the Hall of Fame I'm talking about but there sort of like levels as well so there's um you know Hall of Fame means you were you probably you know very good but Immortal means you're like one of the greatest players who's ever lived so there's only 14 what El the 14th Immortal and 120 odd years of rugby league so you look at some of the records of these guys particularly those early guys I think um R brought up one of the guys um Frank Purge or something in his record it's like defies belief when you read his stat so yeah these are the best of the best okay yeah so sort of the the Hall of Fame and then the guys in the Hall of Fame become an immortal so yeah in the Hall of Fame was kind of your your contribution to the game you don't have to be kind of one of the best wordss yeah it's your contribution to the game and it a lot of it's um what happens on the field and all the rest of it not just not really you know you're if you're a good person I know that there was some criticism I think lesz voy he got inducted recently just in this recent intake he spent a year on the sideline suspended for yeah that's right yeah about someone and ended someone's career yeah that's right one of the other guys came out saying you know how can this guy get ducted yes it's a bit um I don't know if that should come into it like you know he served his time his record's still pretty awesome and he is one of the best but [ __ ] a year suspension for ending a guy's career I don't know yeah I was just wondering like guys like Sunny Bill do they kind of make a you know kind of so yeah I was sort of a bit surprised um cuz they they they look a bit um unfavorably on guys who um you know jump codes so I was surprised that they put him as a rugby league Immortal no I would just as uh ability skill level not not not for his contributions mean Hall of Fame they W enough something different yeah maybe a Hall of Fame but you know I don't know how many games he played cuz he spent you know 10 years in Union yeah so career this play his whole career in leag and either way of other end of union he started leag came back uh to the Brewsters won another one I don't think he played it long enough in leag in NL so for that reason I just him the of in the Hall of Fame yep he was inducted this this time around I think you got to be retired for x amount of years before your thing and that's why a lot of these guys was the best guys so the modern guys cam Smith Billy Slater cooperon and Greek English and obviously bji as well same lot of years of pain from those guys you just run those names run run off your tongue man yeah it's like you're doing the commentary all right nice uh any other headlines boys anything else that You' seen uh throughout the week that's stood out to you not straight into our rep what about some uh shout out to um the Richmond Rovers Richmond rers man nice yeah man how cool is to Henry as a real Bas Club um I was talking to uh shout out to Billy Kim in-law's um my father-in-law he was a member of the last uh Richmond rers 1980 the last time they won it man was two years in a row 2980 but he come across an 80 from and bro so he was like there's what couple kiwis in that team that's Fred talking about he playing with solonas in their rby league grou so to come back after what was saying 44 years man and and wi it it's so cool because that was as you we all know bro that's the Cradle of City Club say grillin all these BRS were um you know us you know kids of um kids of people who made the trip over here bro we start playing these League clubs man and it's just interesting and they played against M who who back then was bangi team I just how funny are they different um you know when they change and you start moving out into the southern suburbs and there um but uh Richmond and and grin area has been still pretty there and and St Paul's still pretty BFA you know what I mean a lot of um not to many own houses around there bro but that their club's been really strong B in its history bro so pick ups to Richmond rivers and and oh you saw um was coaching Henry you got get him on man yeah hey yeah Kevin lock was running around at the back for them as well really yeah bro James Kev I think he was [Music] running yeah yeah that's good they were able to keep them from last year because they were in the Grand Final last year as well yeah went down to the parks so good on them for holding on and coming back so yeah that's a pretty good work two two years in a row they didn't fall off so um yeah looks like they must be building something good there at Richmond um they got the Richmond roses as well the girls teams every grade they got um the girls playing there at the moment so Ali went out there for a few training so sounds like they've got a good product like especially for the girls game so yeah looks like some good things happening out there at Richmond um how you say see anything else P out no yeah that's a good shout out there on the rivers so on Richmond but yeah congrats to them getting that win and I'll give a shout out to Papo it's my local these days say I don't know how they got that to the final cuz they never really been a strong team but you know good on them for making it this far so yeah shout out to the those boys the NRL Fantasy Update ice Cava cup we are down to the nitty-gritty I don't know actually how the um this works but um we had our top six and the bottom four of the top six played out last week uh so who did you have did you take on Mike shut up bro oh yeah no yeah that's right you you was you and Ro yeah yeah God Squad bro um and just a [ __ ] injury hit me um unfortunately c m [ __ ] miserable 17 points Barnett was down on his usual this is his lowest of the Season I'm pretty sure Barnett got me 78 as a captain but um yeah all these guys that I usually exp Dom young kind of Saved Me 86 points as youed to T but um got dog Squad man he's got umak Kenny KZ scored him 73 points um but y's been y's been amazing for him man 16 it's pretty much where it comes down to bro hey how'd your game go bro it was uh who scored for you yeah yes so mine was pretty tight I had uh ultimate Manley uh coming in yeah leading there in third place was huge you yeah man so I was quite fortunate um Nathan Clary as my captain injured at the end there so he didn't really pick up much um but yeah fortunately um some my fors like I was saying from the rabitos GL Matangi and Cameron Murray coming through oh you you're pretty much done like the Panthers hey your clar's gone who you going to put deaden or who's left out there I no just got some uh background trades in the works just got there's only like three teams in it though that you can trade with yeah these people not even accepting my trades man come on um so yeah so uh qualified through to the preliminary finals so looks like second versus uh the winner of the last one he's been uh killing it for us days yeah it's been a bit of a tough season a SI lot of injury every week but I was grateful like I looked at that semi-finals last week sort of grateful to get that by it sort of plays out like similar to NL I don't know play I would have lost last week I think too so those are good scores you're thinking to yourself shs but I I was I was grateful for the way that I was able to use that b get some extra players for this week Pap is he pretty solid for you he's been solid but he's not solid tonight he's he's been struggling to I'm not sure fli usually quite High SC I dropped so I don't know if that was the right call we'll see how it washes out you know at the end you don't want to lose and then have guns on the bench um we scored more so otherwise you're like shs so it's going to be a good match up your captain cuz um that got the oh he got per so um he he'll probably make like five or six conversions yeah it's a point a I'll see how we're going I don't know if I can change been your man is he your highest score yeah yeah I've just been consistently picking him every week he's averaging in the 60s so you know it's sort of like well you just sort of trust a guy who's that good so um he was a bit poor last week but you know he's always good for at least to 40 um just they they give them big minutes but that's a point of I'm losing and when I have to take a couple of risks you know they guys like rold who have those massive upside so might have to do that last minute change depending on how it's playing out SK yeah yeah oh actually I might change it up the yeah yeah no no just after the commentary I'll take and I'll go quickly change to my Captain this is a good oh those Scott carrian Tapp in there few little late changes in there um yeah carrian is going to be huge for M's been solid he congrats to him bro for our um yeah man consistent the whole whole league yeah what what do they call that cup I not when the the Premiership but the um the r Prem Min Premiership oh yeah Prem did we do that last year yeah Andy isn't it yeah got last year or the year before oh that's right you minor Premier last year yeah he's been pretty solid with Hines even though hin is injured now but yeah so shout out to everyone that's in the finals for our ice I'm picking this guy I'm picking this guy to go all the way it's your St the usual pull outet fanty it's
