get your popcorn out guy seeking back toback wins against the aces for the first time in four years Asia Wilson she's away with the win in thrilling fashion they win at 7775 for Vegas Asia Wilson man in the aces their sixth win in the last seven meetings against the sky you see it there I had like Goosebumps watching this game and it was stressing me out the aces win 7775 Kennedy Carter for chag was absolutely phenomenal with 25 points Asia Wilson led the way on the other side for Vegas 20 points 18 boards but she still wasn't all that satisfied with that take a listen Asia Wilson she's got high standards for herself she said I didn't shoot that great but I mean come on most 20po games in a season Asia Wilson is up there twice and she's in good company with DT and Stewie again she had the uh game-winning field goal As Time expired today where the aces got the win over Chicago 7775 let's bring in our basketball analyst Isis young who is joining us from Chicago there you were on the call for that broadcast and Isis before we get into it it's so loud behind you we saw the highest of highs lowest of lows back and forth from every team just kind of paint the picture of the environment that you're in right now after that exciting finish yeah certainly a bright future ahead for Chicago currently eighth in those WNBA standings Isis we certainly appreciate it a fantastic job on the call thank you so much for making the time in this in crazy insane game where the aces came out on top defeating the sky in that matchup on CBS getting a look at the upcoming schedule the uh Vegas Aces they're going to be in action on August 27th against Dallas and they have the dream Mercury the sky again on September 3rd and then the sun who are also a title contending team as for the sky they have the mystics on deck on August 28th followed by the fever and Caitlyn Clark the links the aces of course again on September 3rd and then rounding it out with the Sparks on September 6th and let's welcome in Ashley Nicole Moss to talk about this exciting matchup in and Ash there were points in this game where the aces might not have looked like the back-to-back Champs here what is your concern level for Vegas I know they come out with the win but it was a really really close one are you concerned that the backtack Champs are are are looking this way as we're approaching the playoffs there in the W you know what no and I think that that's a really interesting question right because I think whenever you talk about Champs and back-to-back Champs and reigning Champs you know you can only run the league for so long and that's any League you name it every Dynasty comes to an end and that's not because the team's not as good it's just because their competition has gotten a lot better and also when the tape is out on what a team does really well what they struggle in it's easier to go ahead and figure out a point of attack when you have more history to kind of go back to so when we're talking about the ace is still an extremely dominant basketball team one of the best in the league but we have now seen a lot of other teams kind of figure out the ways that they can beat them and how to execute those ways each and every time they match up with them also you see Team this time last year so I'm not going to go ahead and knock the aces like I said still a really good team but you can't underestimate the competition of this league the new talent in this league and how that's ultimately affecting their ability to run through teams like they they're used to yeah when we talk about new Talent that's in the wut of course we have to think about angel ree who just tied the rookie single season record for double doubles of course Kennedy Carter she was phenomenal as well with that game tying three but if we look at the sky as a whole currently eighth in the WNBA standings how do you evaluate their performance as we're looking down the home stretch here and then for for Seasons to come if this coure does stay together this is going to be a fantastic team for Seasons to come I can't put too much expectations on a team that you know has new faces on it has gone through a lot of changes and also when you talk about rookies has done so much promise her ceiling is so high that makes you excited for the future and that is what franchises are looking for nobody has unrealistic expectations except maybe fans that anybody's going to come in and turn a team that wasn't a championship Contender into one but you hope that each and every season you get better and you get better in areas that you need to get better you get better overall as a team as a franchise and then that pattern continues so that hopefully 2 3 years four years down the road you're having a different conversation and I think the Chicago sky are very much in that conversation on that path to being a team we talk about when we start talking about Championship contenders lost three in a row but I mean if you if you watch the games they are Scrappy it is so close and feels like they're just this far away from contending for that title as [Music] [Music] I for for for
