Hello again, everyone getting ready for a four game weekend series Tigers and Kansas City Royals. Bobby, the trade deadline has come and gone an off day, a little day to reset, a little different looking Tigers team. And now this is a real challenge after trading some key pieces away to get ready for a Kansas City team that's playing really good baseball. They've got some players doing some tremendous thing. Bobby Witt Junior has been unbelievable. The Tigers get ready to take on the Kansas City Royals game number one of a four game series from here at Comerica Park Montero needing some innings here for the Tigers. No doubt, you know, we're going to have to stretch it out, hopefully five if not six for cater. Now, I guess this Kansas City team, like you mentioned, Jason , they will put the ball in, play their objective, lots of contact. They want runners on, they want to move him around three straight starts where he's given up five earned runs and Garcia down in the count goes the other way and let's see what happens here with him leading off and inning on base 2 to 0 on Bobby, who a brand new month and now we can look back at July where he hit 489. There goes garcia, the pitch bobbled by the catcher Dingler and Garcia is at second base with nobody out. Garcia just got the jump of his life and Bobby takes ball for how exciting, man. Oh, man, these guys, they are just making the game look so easy and runners at the corners with nobody out. A terrific catch from Garrett Hampson streaking into the sunshine to take away extra bases from Gio Urshela and results in a 123 inning for Zet Lugo that included a couple of strikeouts. Bobby on a pace for 28 homers 112 driven in this season during this 13 game hit streak. He's hitting 540 what he just struck out. Oh my gosh. And I'll add this to all of his impressive numbers. He has been able to avoid the strikeout. That's his first strikeout in 29 plate appearances which tells me he has adjusted to the league pitching around him. Montero had two games in one here. Single walk home run to start. Now is retired 10 of the last 11. Keith to short to first. That's a double play beautifully turned 463 inning ending double play. Keith tore over to Madrid at first back to back singles for the Tigers to start this fourth inning. Their first two hits of the night Jan ground ball to Vinny out at second Lugo covering and no throw the double play is still in order the Tigers have runners at the corners. That's a nice play right there. Lugo is impressive in so many ways. Very steady season, very consistent season ground ball off the end of the bat. And Seth Lugo has cruised through five Montero who gave up three runs in the first inning and he's been not quite perfect since, but close to it, there's a swing and a liner to the alley in right center that's down for and the center fielder are veering over to play at Massey making the turn going to second. He's in there sliding feet first ahead of the throw for a double. Massey with his ninth double on the year is in scoring position with one down. He drives in his 28th run of the year and the Royals lead it for one and now Bobby comes to the play, he's zero for two with a walk tonight. So he's reached base but he does not have a hit 13 game hitting streak on the line line to left field that is gone. A screamer to left and Bobby's first hit in August is a home run and the Royals have their biggest lead of the night. What a nice swing. 20th homer, 18 degrees launch angle. That's pretty low, but that is just shot. Knew he would check in this month. Just didn't know when it's 5 to 1 Royals and now Vinny Pasquin Bats and if he delivers Pasquin smacks it deep to right field, his second home run of the game , it lands in the right field seats. The Royals go back to back and it's 6 to 1 in the top of the eight. Bobby Witt junior goes deep to left. Then he pass Quintino deep to right 14 home runs and 76 RBIs this season for Vinny Pasin Sepp. Lugo is back on the mound for the bottom of the eighth inning. The Royals lead the Tigers 6 to 1. Lugo has delivered seven innings of one run ball that is pitch number 103 and Bobby Witt Junior goes out to get it and set Lugo delivers a 123 bottom of the eighth. He's retired nine consecutive batters and overall, he has allowed just one run on four hits. And now Bobby Junior gets another crack one for three with a home run and a walk tonight and he has another base hit that's going to roll deep and Isbel to third, Vance Wilson is going to wave him home. Here comes the relay. There was a delay and is Bell is going to score from first and Bobby Wood Junior has driven in his second run of the night and the Royals lead 7170 83 by a nice field swing. When he drops that bat, he's like a rocket. He just explodes. We've used a lot of different words for junior lightning bolt rocket. This guy, he just, he has all that ability run around first two outs. Bottom of the ninth Royals up, 7 to 1 popped up. Junior is there and the Royals begin August with a win.
