maybe a message for Nelly or that or she got a launch monitor behind maybe and that's the readout I know some players do that maybe but probably just a message good luck or whatever so a little while before the world number one gets underway but the next two B just about to head out in the sun the trophy that will have another name added onto it Jenny Shin Nelly cter after the year she's had you wouldn't put it Pastor today on the te from the USA Nelly [Music] C in search remarkably of her seventh win of the Season she is a two-time major Champion one of those came earlier this season at the Chevron Championship she trailed by one going into the final round there she Trails by two this time round chasing again yeah she's got her eye on this it is all right got a little bit of grab there cuz if she had it really really chasing and tumbling down that the burn over on the right hand side kind of juts out so good angle to come in from but if she wants to take the trophy home she'll have to get rid of the demons that haunted her a little on the back n yesterday back towards the final hole it's going to be extremely difficult Nelly Corda had a three-shot lead when the third round began shot 75 she begins two back here's her second at the first she's 2- 0 this year when trailing by two entering the F Nelly CA three putted this first hole for bogie yesterday she's got this for birdie today a little bit of moisture on the greens going to be even slower than they've been the start that Lilia was looking for on the te at the second after the par Nelly Corda she's come back this year multiple times Morgan to win yeah she has played really well in tough conditions better than maybe anybody all year and she's going to relish these conditions today as well said she's ready to take whatever links go 10-footer see something go in it's a it's a big moment could have been a two shot swing instead it remains one Nelly two back second at the second went way long and left here yesterday made Bogey and there you see how soft that green was right there still has been some moisture that has fallen on these greens might be a little softer than the players have faced so far this week Bogies to start the day let's go to the second and Morgan Nelly said seeing the putt go in at three was big just to see something drop yesterday oh how does that not fall needs a gust of wind or something to push that in good roll to where it originally was if you already marked it now Nelly on the te on that hole did you ever have one roll off the green after you had marked it or roll into a hazard me oh gosh I'm trying to remember I don't know that's one Reas because that first round they couldn't have finished with all it for you I know Morgan having played the US Women's Open at 13 but Gino just has continued to win three yes but it's a combo it's a combo of down and off the left as you can kind of tell from that flag here on Melly shot near usually very good around the greens okay chance for Nelly to make her first birdie of the day Nelly look to be in control of this Championship through nine holes of her third round but came home in 40 yesterday trying try to get off to a good start today but it's going to be three straight PES H certainly on the way out and it really is quite disconcerting as you can't see where the ball finishes so it's about trusting the line and Nelly as you mentioned uh Morgan the ball slightly below her feet there yeah look like the lie was okay she's so good with these shots imagine taking her three-wood here now just needs to trundle on as far as it can go it's going to be fine she'll have an eagle pot is tightly bunched at the top of this leaderboard Kim finished up in the first game and then announced that she is stepping away from the game herself so congratulations the last time that the AIG Women's Open was in this area area she won it at Kings Barnes 2017 so congratulations on a an outstanding career to ik Kim n has an eagle Putt and instead of moving it a club length they going to move the mark a poter length it looks like uh they forementioned anak Kurtz Madson who's one under for the day so far she's in a tie for 12th playing the 13th hole massive double green biggest on the golf course biggest you'll ever find pretty much anywhere biggest in the world yeah 38,000 square fet or so length of a football field right from on the fifth when you play the fifth from front to back it was 100 yards yeah American football I you could have a good game of soccer or half football on that green as well she's only about at the 50 yard line right now this is nearly a full turn really take the club back as far as you can it's hard to do left hand low it's not that easy n will really want to try and walk away with a birdie here take advantage of the par fives there are only two par fives on the golf course girl didn't really know where her career was going but it was during the the the covid layoff where she really started to realize how lucky she was and her position in life and uh since then it's really taken advantage of the opportunity she's had and this is a massive opportunity this afternoon Nelly may just be waiting on Nana kurs Madson you remember her ball was in the line of Jenny Shin so players so close together here on 13 and 5 this an important one for Nelly Just to tie the lead when she was playing so well first third of this season this club and this length of putt she was just mustard making them every time they were going in with a little bit more Authority as well [Music] Tom she makes it and Nelly cter gets the six underpar tied for the lead here in the final round of the AIG women's open this is going to be fun to watch and it makes it even more interesting when you're inside in relative warmth here in our commentary position and not have after her first birdie of the day Nelly cter now tied for the lead right at the sixth and you can hear he headed right looks like it's going to be okay a lot of trouble over there Nelly trying to book into her season with major CH good form with a couple of wins on the jlpga this year let's go to number six and Nelly flirting with bunkers and gorse is going to be okay her second here at the par 4 she's got a good angle to this whole location here just flight something coming out why looks okay like a chip kind of a shot something that they were working on coming into this week was just taking a lot more Club at times and almost feel like you're chipping the shot there's so much feel that is involved p over at the sixth a birdie putt for Nelly Corda to take the outright lead for the first time since the inward nine yesterday I just think about the roller coaster of the week that it has been for Nelly including that three shot lead to start yesterday's round and here she is still clawing fighting it is so tight it's been well here is that length in these conditions maybe five and a half six feet for par for Nelly wind blowing into her face off her right shoulder oh goodness couple of those yesterday including at the first hole and just when she gains a share of the lead she gives one back with a three putt more adversity for Nelly to to the Top by one seven yesterday you remember Nelly hit the driver here and took it very close to the bunker so clubbing back today depending on the balance this gets though it still could be a lot of Club here still trundling down there yeah is it going to stay in the Fairway I think so to seven second here for Nelly quarter Jenny shin has driven it into shell bunker and that is so good from Nelly we haven't seen many players get the ball to stop that quick when she won in Singapore and did a Beyonce dance on the green after winning she's just got that emotion and as a fun player to watch cter after that good approach it's downwind will it be enough yes I that was straight down the breeze and a good bounce back from cter she returns to the top of the leaderboard yeah she has she has looked completely unbothered by that mistake which is what you need she's look unbothered by her mistake left to putt from over in that general area about 6 ft short now she's come back with a birdie at the seventh and here is Nelly at the eighth tied for the lead with two other two-time major winners and another one right behind in Lydia Co this hasn't been the easiest hole today because of the wind been tough to judge playing about a quarter of a stroke over par looks like maybe pulled this one a touch okay he want that saw how far lah W misjudged that that comes up well short different win than the players have played on this hole more into putt that uh demands good touch in tough conditions yeah that three putt of hers on the six was her fifth of the week she did have one on this hole in round one but look at that flag I mean it's just that makes it that much harder to judge the speed as long as these putts are some of the biggest greens you'll ever find Excellent control can't remember ever seeing her Le the flag in which may tell you something seventh green and obviously off your right so yeah the right side set that St right yeah I'm going like right way right up correct you're going to start it at that PO time out there yeah perfect found their line there are two bunkers in the middle of the Fairway on 267 to carry off the back te but the t's moved forward today about uh 20 yard or so and then there's another bunker that's closer to the green look that almost like a punch driver swing right there fighting it down a little into the winds no nobody getting anywhere close to this screen today of G Shin nine and Nelly yeah yeah good shot there I like the fact that this was drivable for the longer players often times on the LPGA Tour we see it drivable for the whole field but I think playing alongside Nelly quarter in this final round in the penultimate pairing and Nelly has a chance to tie the lead and takes it so quarter tied at the top with g that's three birdies on the outward nine for the world number one she just really has loved playing in these tough conditions played so all right making the turn tied at the top Nelly Corda no need for driver here just playing for position bunkers up the right that can catch you out and that'll be just fine right there think about the t- shot she hit at 16 yesterday that went definitely not and up at the 10th tied at the top Nelly Corda I mean it's it's a it's pretty much a full shot I think it's playing enough probably the 30 really yeah I do yeah y [Applause] actually out here on this hole with her in practice where she was looking at the eighth flag because it's kind of was hard to tell her which one to aim at but here the 10th on the left side look really comfortable in that discussion right there jasy mcdeed said good swing Nelly swinging well and even in these conditions she just makes it look so smooth the tendency is sometimes for players to swing faster as the conditions worsen faster wind just making it really difficult let's go to 10 and Nelly corded to take the outright lead Nelly walks it in and for the first time since the inward nine yesterday she leads the AIG Women's Open alone what a bounceback on the green each of the four rounds here only separated by about seven yards maximum surprised it's playing as easy as it is today relatively speaking oh it's the only place you couldn't miss it is short Strath bunker down there we'll just have to see how it's lying in that bunker you never know here if it's in the middle of the bunker it could be okay but if you're close to one of the sides of the bunker L Vu back there as well Tom Abbott is there at the 11 yeah Strath bunker not the spot that you want to be Nelly with the club face wide open awesome Nelly caddy says awesome how about that Morgan ah that is a Razor's Edge of pass with G shin and lty wo the 20 20-year-old number one ranked amiter a factor this week as well to 11 and Nelly to save par that's a really important three there for quarter getting up and down front nine right now and has given up half as many birdies as well well this is the last time Nelly had the lead outright it was here at the 12th yesterday made it began to struggle a bit um up and over a ridge leading by one Nelly the 12th and try to win for the seventh for Lilia Nelly on the T at the 13th hole and there you go that's the hole where do you hit it it's just a very strange looking hole you get a some Oddities here on the old course and I think this is certainly one of them it's playing even longer today with the shift in the wind direction a little bit more into the players that's really good a couple of bunkers down there you need to avoid and then the Fairway Narrows and there are two bunkers actually on the Dune there that Nelly drove it into one earlier in the week just took it by surprise at the second shot at the 13th for Nelly Cordo just going to Scamper up to take a look at where it finishes Ah that's a really good shot right there Tom tough to get it all the way back to that whole location into the wind this whole playing the longest that it has played all week here for birdie at the 13th Nell won six of seven events earlier this season then had a run of three miscuts really strange run for Nelly but told me earlier this week that she started to find her and now Nelly to save par she told me that uh you know her dad has seen her golf swing for basically her entire here is Nelly up by one at the 14th only par five on the back trying to get the wind to draw a little bit left yeah great shot good some anxious moments hit one as we mentioned to the Right Out of Bounds at 16 yesterday this is Lilia Vu for birdie with the long follow through like we've seen from her many times little bit of work left to save her par All Right Nelly Corda up by one second at the par five 14th like she stayed really nice and high with her right shoulder through that shot trying to prevent it from turning over to the left going to have to negotiate that knob there short right of this green will depend on the LIE this turn 26 a couple of weeks ago d8 conditions weren't easy after that but they were a little bit more favorable and how about this third coming up for Nelly Corda and the parfi 14th looks like the ball is sitting okay just on a little bit of an UPS slope got the wind mostly off the right here [Applause] flighted little chip swing here ask for it to sit and that's why jumped on her out of that rough we could see from that camera angle that she C she came from behind to win at balus roll Yen did last year at the KPMG women's PGA Championship a 72 hole birdie to win in New Jersey and now Nell with a fourth coming up how about the challenge of this shot she got a really steep slope once the ball gets on the green here and be very slow up the hill then the whole location just on the top of a little Plateau looks like it's sitting down a touch as well playing it a little bit back in her stance see where she decides to land this yeah went the low route is going to come back seemed like it just came out a little bit heavy we could see that lie wasn't great and just didn't quite keep the acceleration up enough she said entering the weekend with a three- shot lead right the par putt or par attempt for Nelly she's one of the best in the game but it's going to be a drop shot at least Nelly making a mess of this 14th this for bogie to stay in the lead wow oh my goodness second double bogey on the back nine this weekend she had one bogey in her first third 36 holes in brutal conditions yeah it's tough out there that was a little sloppy 15 yes is the t- shop for Nelly cord and Karen stles has now joined this pairing I have and the and the wind is a little bit off the right and this is a really World struck t-shot Tom boring with a lot of drawer to it this is a very difficult stretch of the golf course third hardest hole on the course today today the 15th the fourth hardest [Applause] is this is at the 15th a moment ago Nelly cord is second and she's got a she at five IR Tom in her hands right now and this is going a little bit out to the right well she wasn't happy with it it's going to be a long partt just got ahead of it with her upper body ever so slightly on that up slope 30 in the roll rankings at the moment 15 long birdie putt for Nelly cter it is and uh the real key here is to try and make sure that you get the right speed on this and she's given this a a good wh Tom see if it's got the right speed there at the end it's trying look like the rain is just starting to fall again a little bit of moist memories of playing so much golf with G over the years and she's fun competitor to play against and tough one papart here for cord so important to make that one and she does stays tied for the lead three to play couple of tough holes and number one and number two currently and two other former number ones tied for first Nelly Corda at 16 well and yesterday she went out of bounds on this hole she is not going to anywhere near that out of bound fence today nice low rejection be there you said it earlier this has been kind of a microcosm of Famer there that was fantastic let's go to 16 and the second for Nelly how bad is it Karen it's raining pretty good right now so it's going to affect how the ball flies it's going to add a bit of distance to it we going to need to add distance to it and this is a great shot from n just when she needed it at the hole where she made double yesterday yeah she I mean I'm thinking of everybody on this leaderboard who's faced so much ad Clubhouse and of course birdie chants at the 18th and a chance to break back on top Nelly at 16 and this put looks like it wants to move to the right but the wind could hold it [Applause] out what an opportunity for Nelly who made double Nelly reaches the T at the 17th Karen well and this is a it's an awkward t-shirt I mean obviously it's completely blind with the old course hotel right in front of you it's made more difficult by the fact that it is quite raining hard at the moment wind is off the right but of course it's sheltered because of the the hotel so shouldn't move as much to the left as you might think got to make two really good swings coming in this t- shot and the second shot this one's probably going to find the left off yeah it's not the end of the world there but it can't we can't see the ball just makes that second shot more difficult if you bail out left off the tea back at the 17th hole second shot here for quarter it is quite awkward Tom the grass is growing with her but she had a little tough to Grass behind the ball this is a low seven wood so left that's got to go into the bunker from there isn't it is it going to stay short oh let's hope it runs down into the middle of the bunker oh it's just on that down slope Morgan she's going to have to worry about the backlit potentially as well may to pick that up quickly doesn't have a ton of green to work with everything really doubting herself putting herself right back on top of the game predicament here 17 yeah this is quarter and she's got to get this up and down here Karen she does and she's uh looking more out to the right than than directly at the hole I mean that back lip is pretty close to her just give yourself a putt for par job yeah she's done that yep and depending on what Lydia does that putt is going to be vital for [Applause] cord he won with an a nordquist at Cari up the coast well this becomes so important now for Nelly she makes this she can Birdie the last and tie Lydia she misses she's going to have to pull off the Miracle on 18 put her name down in history he's going to move from the right keep the speed up keep the speed up Nelly and it is going to be a drop shot and cord will be two behind she needs to Eagle the 18th it's possible well but that would have made the task so much and now two down on the te at 18 Nelly Corda well first step hit a great Drive set yourself up with an opportunity to make the second shot I'd have to think that she had no idea that Lydia made that birdie for her to have left that putt short on the 17th hole like it's going to be on a little bit of a down slope there well she's done things that we just haven't seen in the 75 year history of the LPGA Tour she'll more golf to play only a couple of players left on the course who could Tire one last chance for Nelly her second at 18 Karen well then she's found herself on a little downhill Li from 62 yards slight wind assist from the right and not to be for Nelly Corda a two- shot lead and up by the green to the parfi 14th and two needed five more from there and Lydia Cod Dodges one more bullet and a fabulous round Morgan the prophecy seemed written for the court of kids Children of tennis Superstars Peter and Regina Corda all Elite athletes her older sister Jessica multiple winner on the LPGA Tour brother Seb superstar in the men's tennis circuit got onto the LPGA Tour took her a couple of years finally began winning six wins this year to the 18th and the birdie putt for Nelly Corda and this whole green slopes down to Nelly's right so this bll will move that way what will Nelly take from this Morgan it's going to be disappointing even with the season that she's had certainly was looking to add another major battling back from the struggles of the middle of the Season she'll definitely be Andy a great week for Nelly Corda tarnished somewhat by what happened on that inward nine both yesterday and today couple of double Bogies for the world number one hard to
