Star Wars Outlaws Review - Is It Worth Your Time?

I've been playing Star Wars Outlaws for the past week and today I'm going to give you my review of the game and see if it's worth picking up I want to say thanks to Ubisoft for providing me with the game and all of the thoughts and opinions in this video are my own I will try to avoid spoilers but there may be a few that slip in so this is your warning in advance first let's talk about the story what it basically boils down to is a classic Heist movie but Star Wars Outlaws a set between Empire Strikes Back and return to the Jedi it all starts with a heist gone wrong and a bounty is placed on your head the rest of the game is spent Gathering a crew of people with different skills for specific purposes to pull off an even bigger Heist that will clear a bounty it's definitely not an original story premise and the twist can be seen coming a mile away but I did still find it enjoyable there are several details and things happening in the background that tie into the movies which was really cool to see and I won't spoil them for you here now let's talk about the game play most of your time will be spent infiltrating enemy bases trying to recover some kind of data almost every mission in the game follows this however the level design varies with each base and Planet so that it never really feels repetitive a lot of the time you'll have to be stealthy and sneak around to not get caught or raise alarms but there are also times where you can cut loose and start blasting away with you on your quest is your companion NYX he's a small creature that assists you with so many things including to but not limited to attacking or distracting enemies sabotaging alarms fetching items giving a pulse to let you see items interactables in enemies through walls and even more and before you ask yes you can pet him along with any animal you come across in the game one of the things nck can grab is weapons that enemies have dropped these will offer you more Firepower for a short amount of time since they have limited ammo but really helped me in a lot of situations outside of this you'll mainly use your blaster throughout the game your blaster has three modes with multiple settings in each mode you have the normal Blaster an ion shot which is good for Droids and Shields and several puzzles and lastly a power shot that deals lots of damage and will help you blow up specific objects in the world speaking of the open world the maps are not crazy big and sometimes when you're not in the cities it can feel a bit empty but there is life in the world you'll see people on Speeders going to different settlements as well as Imperial and Syndicate patrols along the roads and even ships flying into the different settlements you come across out in the open world you'll have secrets and treasure locations to find as well as random events that you can participate in these events can be things like speeder races Pirates attacking a small settlement or imperial raids that allow you to steal from the Empire I didn't really see more than that and they didn't happen super often so there could be some that I missed your speeder is your primary mode of transportation and it controls much better than it did in the early preview that I was a part of as well control is not super tight but much improved nonetheless early on you'll get the chance to upgrade your speeder with a boost option which definitely helps when trying to explore the worlds locations are not super close together and until you find fast travel spots then there'll be a lot of driving around when you're in the cities however you'll be walking everywhere the maps are not super big and the objective tracker does a much better job of keeping you from getting lost than it did in the preview all the cities also have fast travel points with the main ones have having multiple so you don't have to walk around the entire thing if you don't want to while walking around you can come across people having conversations that you can listen to that will set you up for a side quest if you choose to follow it most of the side quests in the game are designed to either give you special parts for your ship speeder and blaster or are a way to increase your reputation with the different syndicates this gets into the reputation system there are four factions in the game you can work with and depending on the side quests and contracts you do and the choices you make you'll either increase or decrease your reputation I only had one time where I had a bad reputation with the Pikes but I was able to bring it back to good really quickly it was actually pretty easy to keep all the factions and good status and I never really had to worry about getting to the lowest level that would make Assassins come after me I thought it would be more difficult and you wouldn't be able to do this so it made the experience a bit easier when you don't have to sneak all the way through every single Syndicate area you come across now let's get into the length of the game and replayability it was said by the developers that the main story would take 30 hours to complete with about 50 to 60 hours to do everything I I was actually able to finish the story in 17 hours and that's with doing side quests and other things rather than just following the main story if you only focus on the main story and don't really do anything else you could probably finish the whole thing in about 6 to 8 hours which is a far cry from 30 it's disappointing when game link is promised and then not follow through on this brings up replayability there's not much here if you're not a completionist or want to beat the game on all the difficulties there's no new game plus which means finishing the story gives you nothing to do other than doing more side quest for upgrade parts that you no longer need I get that there are two DLCs planned for outlaws but the size and scope of them is not something known yet most people will have finish the game and put it down before those even come out and without a new game plus option there really isn't a lot of replayability so is Star Wars Outlaws actually worth your time I think if you're a big Star Wars fan and really like stealth games then you'll definitely enjoy this one now I personally really enjoyed it and had a ton of fun but I will say that it's definitely not worth the price of admission for the base game you have $70 the golden edition which gives you the season pass gives you $110 and for $130 you get the ultimate edition which gives you two extra packs if you're going to play the game I would highly recommend waiting for a sale or getting a Ubisoft Plus subscription for a month and cancel it after you finished playing are you getting the game or if you've played it already what are your thoughts on it leave a comment down below if you want to see more content then make sure to like And subscribe and check out my other channel and
