hello and welcome thanks for joining us the show brings you a matchup of division Rivals it's the Milwaukee Brewers going up against the Cincinnati Reds alongside my partner Chris Singleton I'm John Choy thanks for joining us here and sending the big bat in the lineup so far this year will Benson he leads the team and wins above replacement so most days you can expect him to be a big factor for these guys yeah Bo he's definitely a huge piece of the puzzle for this ball Club right now is just having a really nice year and that's on both sides of the ball not just offensively you talked to guys in the clubhouse the coaching staff they always have great things to say about him and they say the team really looks to him to be one of the Oni leaders day in and day out well it hasn't been a great year so far in terms of ER but he's had some decent games and there have been some flashes of greatness if you will we'll see today if he's able to get ahead of hitters and perhaps get some swings and misses put himself in a position to bring that erra down because you know in the back of his mind Beyond The W he wants to have a better earned run average the onew and that's the strike out looking couldn't pull the trigger on a fast ball at the knees here's the third baseman Andrew monasterio just missed Abbot measures 6 feet even 190 lb and he was the second round pick in 2021 I got one B one out base is empty inside almost got him and another [Applause] ball 3-1 and he couldn't come up with it now this was a story we were paying attention to before the game we've seen him give up walks in the past and it's an issue once again early on runner on the go and a foul ball man it first one away crushed left center field this one's deep forget it his 18th home run of the season and it gives him the lead in the first it's two nothing that's a fun way to take the lead just hit one out of the park with a low 9s fast you have to live on the edges and hit your spots if you don't you'll get hit hard really good swing there patient waited for it was like BP all over again bces empty one away will Damas stands in bounce to third [Music] candelario tosses to First and they get a Damas for the out let's take a look at the Brewers lineup this is one of the best teams in the league when it comes to drawing walks Chris so we'll probably see a very patient approach from them yeah booie and that's often uh what leads to a lot of runs scored you get Runners on base you work that pitch count up for the opposing pitchers and then you take advantage when they make mistakes you get into that bullpit you can tell that everyone up and down this lineup just comes in with a great plan of attack a lot of patience just like you said and a curve is down and in one and one [Music] and now the Lefty and he chases that one and that's the third out but two come across to score in the inning courtesy of this two-run Homer it's now a two nothing ball game Major League Baseball is on the show back here with my pal sigy on the hill and coming off a great start DL Hall what do you got on him Chris well he's putting together a really nice season on the mound RA in the Lowes respectable when you consider guys are looking to do damage they're not trying to just walk and hit singles they're trying to hit homers and draw walks and score runs so when you have a guy that can limit the other team from scoring more than a few runs really tough to beat game in and game out next offering is in for a strike after scor runs this is where you're looking for that shut down inning get that hot team back in there to swing the bats one B that one misses in the dirt this is a hit who takes his game and the pitch fights that one away still one and two got him [Music] [Applause] swinging now it's the right fielder will Benson that one hammered center field triio going back and he makes the catch on the track just missed a homer that time let's take a look at the lineup and a big factor for them in recent games TJ fredel and you got to like this match up for him is a guy who hits left-handed pitchers as well as anyone it seems I mean he's hitting over 300 against souths this season he's got a good shot to make a big impact against the left-hander on the hill today Matt m stands in now and watches strike one he swings and fouls one off o and two now now One Missed well he's so great the the other way those arms exed so right there just trying to straighten him a little bit so he doesn't have as much outside play coverage and here it comes swing in a miss and he's down on strikes and good work there as he gets a one two three nobody left for Cincinnati and they're down two nothing back here in Cincinnati and now the right fielder Joey weer the pitch and a curb misses outside is in there and the count is one and one Dave Lawrence assigned to work home plate in this one good umpire boo very fair very consistent now I did hear some feedback that he opens up the outside corner a little bit on left-handed hitters which you know me I'd be kind of salty so maybe something to keep an eye on and see if that factors into this one at all and it's strike two Chris the players ever Chang their approach in meaningful ways based on Whose uniring or is it good to just be aware of Tendencies so you're not that surprised I'd say the lad because pitcher got a pitch to his strengths regardless the hitters got a hit to his strength so you're aware of it but you have to just hunt for what you can handle and now Jackson Chio that one drilled left field Fair ball and that rolls into the corner makes the turn and heads for second and that's a double man he used to absolutely turn on that one ripped it down the line nice job of staying in his mechanics one out runner at second here's Christian a [Applause] Royo swing and a miss hold one's the [Applause] count one ball one St in the dirt and the runner holds [Music] man it's second and that's outside and it's two and [Applause] one and a foul ball runner at second here one gone and by him for the K well classic pitch sequencing there to change eye levels for the punch out that fast ball on the pitch before was off it was very competitive and that gets you thinking that he might try to climb the ladder but then the curveball out of that same tunnel just falls off the table and you can't make contact one down I got a ball one stke late on that I know they' got to an early lead but you don't want to take these opportunities for granted two outs still lock in with aity of dve that you may not have another in position and a swing to miss down on strikes third out and that ends the frame Brewers strand one but they're on top two nothing we head to the bottom of the second and now Joey Gallow Joey and the pitch yallow to the right side a royal whips it to First and quickly one away in the second now batting jamer candelario that one finds the Zone it's own one looks like he sacrificed to pitch right down the middle for tracking and timing some good hitters will do that the Brewers leading by two here in game one of this three game set gets a piece and it stays 0 and two the Lefty fires ball one there that's a really good job of laying off the 02 High fast ball is going to make that pitcher really have to respect this hitter even though he's behind in the count wouldn't chase that time the Brewers up by two bottom half of inning number for [Music] two the punch out there and there two down off to a strong start singy as he's punched out three of the first five he's faced oh he's definitely minimizing contact he can get the swing and miss when he needs it but he'll also keep the defense fresh behind him allowing some balls in play as well and that's in for a strike looks like a really good fast ball today you can hear that catcher mitt popping looking forward to hearing a lot of that one in this one the W to kick the pitch and downstairs next pitch just misses and it's three and two really good take especially with two stri on the ground and that's just foul the pitch good job to fight that one off that fast at the bottom of the Zone can be very effective just got to keep it on the corners 32 in the air out towards left Center Chio brings it in with a nice running Gra on to the third inning here's the lead off man for the Brewers Christian Yelich and a pitch and there's a foul ball the line in the pitch not even close there and to count even one and one that gets the top of the zone for a strike and now it's even up and another [Applause] ball check swing tried to hold up now it appeal to third no swing that's Ball Four he walked him now the number two hitter Andrew monasterio oh he earned his trip to first right there it's not easy laying off pitches that just miss the Zone like that and it's a real discipline as well he's put a lot of work into that aspect of his game and it paid off right there Step Off throw to first Yelich Dives back [Applause] in the one right through there for a strike Yelich aboard here at first with nobody [Applause] out yellich goes pitch in for a strike and safe it's a stolen base [Applause] in the air right field and that'll fall for a base hit around third he scores and they're up by three that was a great job of letting that Runner still second base get in the scoring position come through with the base KN add a r and now it's William contras he's already Homer here in this one [Applause] foul ball [Applause] there grounded to third could be two there's one out and they get him easily at first it's a double play as a former player watching 5 43 double plays brings back some adrenaline it's such an exciting play and it's always a great reminder of baseball being such a team sport and now here is Will Adamas ja swing went around and that is strike one two out Bas is empty swings and misses struck him out well they pick up one run on the RBI single it's now three nothing you're watching Major League Baseball exclusively on the show and we're back and now the first baseman Christian and carosio strand slider Clips The Zone wow just a beautiful back door slider right there if you got any chance of hitting that pitch you have to wait until the absolutely last millisecond just a tough pitch to hit and not an easy one to throw either Yelich makes the grab one away steuart Fairchild digs in now strike to the outside corner and it's O and one swung on belted back there and that one's gone he circles the bases and they cut into the lead it's 3-1 elevated fasts especially away are like putting the ball on a te hitters do a lot of cage work they're comfortable Hitting off the te's and he was comfortable right there hitting that ball opposite field for a home run Ellie de Cruz stands in here leaves that one off the inside fast ball for a strike so here's a fun note on Ellie he became the youngest player in high a ball to Homer from both sides of the plate in the same game and it gets better he did it again two games later those are the type of games that tend to get you promoted in the minor that just misses two and two one out base is empty and a run in here in the last half of the third hit in the air right field weer gets under it makes the catch for the out that's out number two now the left fielder TJ frel it's a good recovery though after giving up the Home Run not allowing it to stay in the head but going to work at the next hitter and a tough one at that and that's downstairs and outside side oh he looks more focused at the pl and working the count after that first at bad [Applause] strikeout that misses and that's B [Applause] three ler faceing Joey gets on base and keeps it going nice job of driving that pitch the other way on a line you know hitters they take so many reps in the cages working on going to the opposite field and it doesn't always translate into the game but right there it did and he did it perfectly Benson batting for the second time and that's strike one misses inside [Applause] at the belt and fires high in the air out to R weer under it and that will end the inning one for the Reds on the Homer and this is now a 31 ball game you're dialed into the show new inning getting started now it's going to be reys Hoskins Abbot back to work that misses the Zone one and0 Hoskins measures 6' 4 in 31 years old he's been on a terrific run at the plate hitting over 350 in his last 10 the pitch so a foul ball makes it one and two and a pitch swing and a miss struck him out picks up strike out number seven Joey weamer up now for the Brewers went down on strikes his first time through and that one fouled off Bas is empty one away top half of inning number four missed inside with the Curve the one- one is fouled off foul ball still a one and two count and he deals gets a piece there we'll do it again well he's having a tough time getting a pitch by him as a hitter you feel pretty confident that you're seeing different pitches still able to make some type of contact swing and a miss and he struck him out two out two out Bas is empty Jackson Chio up now for the Brewers edge of the Zone call the strike one and one and ball one that's down and in looks like he's being a little cautious with him in this at B after doubling the first time up doesn't want to make another mistake that one misses and the count is three and one first pitch strike from the pitcher but then no Panic at all by the very patient showing good discipline now he's in the driver seat with the 31 count one of the things about that two out walk the base runner over at first base is going to have a very aggressive secondary lead so B the line or into the Gap will produce a two out RBI and those are the best that is if you are the offensive side of it aoo at the plate and takes High there he's going to steal second you want him to go early in the count that way he's not a distraction to the hitter at the plate go ahead and get it out of the way so the hitter can focus on the pitch breaks his Bat and Pops it up and cardion strand makes the catch inning [Applause] over no Walky leaves one as the lead remains 3-1 ready to go for the last half of the inning in now for the Reds Matt mlan as the Lefty gets to work wouldn't chase that time [Applause] that one back up the middle and it gets through so Runner aboard to start the [Applause] Inn well his hot hitting continues he's been getting great results lately TI on the swing was good able to shoot the ball up the middle didn't square up as much as he probably would have liked but that's a good approach paying off and now let's see if they force some action with good Wheels on the bases Joey Gallow steps to the plate first offering misses badly for ball one the Reds trailing by two we're here in the bottom of the [Applause] fourth F back ourway and that's out of [Applause] play base hit center field lead Runner around second they throw in and the throws offline for third oh a swing like that can help you come out of the struggle we saw the numbers coming into the ball game but all he's trying to do at this point is help his team R jamer candio the next to hit for the Reds golden opportunity right here that one close rule the ball and that's ball one mlan on third Gallow that's second with nobody out swing and a ground still that's a base hit run runs in Firs to the F not in time he's safe back even it's 3 three nicely done brings home two really nice job staying up the Middle with his approach he didn't try to do too much with the pitch just shot it through the infield no outs runner at first Tyler Stevenson the next to hit for the Reds first pitch doesn't find the [Applause] zone and that's skip pitcher out there on the in this situation ahead 2's put himself in a really good spot and a swinging a miss two balls one St lays out but he can't squeez it he decides to hold on to it and they don't get the out the number 33 Christian andos strand Christian and carosio strand the next to hit for the Reds he's over one right through there for a strike first and second here no W that one's in there and that is strike two well he didn't like those first two pitches now an 02 hole he's going to have to battle hope he gets a [Applause] mistake foot slider ties him up struck him out oh really went aggressive in with that slider good two strike pitch right there at worst case scenario it's weak contact in exactly where he and the catcher wanted it on one out and here is Stewart Fairchild and that's off the Inside Edge ball one well all eyes on the double play ball in this spot no better way to get out of this [Applause] inning light drive no trouble here puts it away for the out and there's two down next for Cincinnati Ellie de Cruz fly to right his first timeuz that catches the outside corner that's strike one F off foul first and second two [Applause] down and that one is inside [Applause] two on two outs stays [Applause] alive here's a onew on the ground to short Adamas they get the force inning over and it could have been worse they get two and draw even again we're headed to the fifth all tied up at three a piece back here at Great American Ballpark ready now for the fifth inning now it's the DH Garrett Mitchell there's a [Applause] strike on the ground to the left and foul ball [Applause] here comes a pinch and one and two too close for me partner to take that O2 fast but for whatever reasons he Let It Go by he's still in the atat I don't think he'll let the next one go left hand batter waights and that one is lifted in the air Fredo on the Move makes the grab on the r and there's one down so the batting order turns over and the batter now Christian [Applause] Yelich and the first pitch misses for ball one all tied up at the top of the fif inside corner and that's called to strike this one poed up right side he's got it and there two away maybe caught that one off the end just a little bit couldn't quite Barrel it up enough to really drive it now the third baseman Andrew monasterio first off and it just misses two down nobody on here in game one of this three game set next offering is in for a strike [Applause] swing and a foul pushed off to the right and that will get out of [Music] play kicks and fires that one down the line and it goes just foul the wi to the pitch and another ball oh he hit him and that got him pretty flush he had two strikes on him and he hit him so a man aboard William contras the next to hit he's already homered in this game snap throw to first back in safe really close and that one fouled off monasterio off of first with two away that one finds the zone that is strike two activity in the bullpen for the Reds Nick Martinez loening up for Manager David [Applause] Bell two outs that one ripped way back there and and that one is Off the Wall coming home the relay [Applause] safe man it's second here with two away will Adamas will hit next for a strike it's own and one the strategy of winning a ball game when you can make that pitcher work a little more expose himself by throwing pitches that could be the key to winning perhaps later on so good job of extending this inning getting a knock with two outs to bring the number four hole hitter up kick sandal swing and a miss and that strike two two outs and one in scor position and that one hammered that's back and it's gone home run number 35 on the year and they add a pair it's 63 and that shot makes their grip on the lead even tighter a break ball on the inside part of the plate requires a hitter to stay really square with his mechanics if you fly open with the front shoulder there's no way you keep that ball Fair an outstanding job mechanically he deserves that home run now the Reds manager is out of the Dugout and we'll make a move to the pan Andrew Abbott is done it's a three-run game and we'll be back to tell you about the new arm in a minute so they bring on the veteran Nick Martinez if you dig into his walk rate his numbers are really impressive he's really filled up the strike zone this season so these batters better be ready to swing the bats pulls it down and he makes the catch and that'll do it but they strike for three in the inning two on this two-run home run and they've doubled up now it's 63 you're watching Major League Baseball on the show and welcome back to the ballpark bottom of the inning here's the Le Fielder TJ Fredo hul back to work and the first pitch misses for ball one well after putting up a nice Inning on offense got some runs across this is where you look for the starter to go out there have a shut down inning don't give that other team any hope you just hope that he can get through this inning get the bats back up there while they're hot there's a swing and a drive that one back there and it's a one hopper Off the Wall should be extra bases safe at second with a lead off double well when you fall behind in the count you've got to come into the zone and then guys have a better chance of hitting the ball hard like he did right there and ready to hit now for Cincinnati will [Applause] Benson this one popped up foul ground first Bas side Hoskins drifts towards it hauls it in for the out and there's one away that hanging breaking ball looks so juicy to The Hitter and nothing more frustrating when you miss that pitch and you pop out he's going to have to think about that till his next at bat McLean up for the third time and takes ball [Applause] one and here it comes swinging a drive deep right field we going back makes the catch up against the wall Runner tags and we'll move up to third relay throw home there's the tag they get him and that's the inning no runs one hit no errors and no one left five innings complete it's the Brewer six and the red back here in Cincinnati start of the six John shamby with Chris Singleton and leading off Joey weer the pitch that misses and that is ball one the Cincinnati Bullpen has the movement emelo Pagan up and throwing Cruz also throwing and the one ground ball to the right side and that's just foul bunting for a hit slings the first they handle the and get the out here's Jackson chrio not only is he young singy he's the first player born in 2004 to reach the major lead is that supposed to make us feel good about ourselves no bounced up the middle Del Cruz On The Run throw to first not in time and he reaches safely well he did all he could at Short to try to make an amazing play and almost got it done but good hustle down the line and that's an earned infield hit next for the Brewers Christian a [Applause] Royo first pitch and just misses side just missed last two pitches have been down in the zone pitcher clearly trying to get that ground ball double play but in this count he's going to have to give in Elevate his pitches and get back into this atat run on the go throw there safe Chris his wheels with a Difference Maker on that play just got in there yeah with stat cast's help we see his top speed on this stolen base and that's a big number I mean man he really made his athleticism work for him on that one and misses it's a strike out pulled the string of the change up he's locked in at the plate when he's using the whole field he was out in front there just needs to let the ball travel a little more his timing will be back on track good pitch for the strike out ripped to third but handled and that will end the inning Brew strand one as they're unable to add to their 6-3 [Applause] lead and we're back and now to DH Joey Gallow the pitch that's way outside and that's ball one movement in Milwaukee bu pen Obby Milner up and loosening in the pen Wilson getting cranked up as well and the [Applause] pitch out looking so what next jamer candelario one for two right through there for a strike and one the Reds trailing by three here in the bottom of the six and that's into dir and the one two misses to even the [Applause] count and now the Lefty chases the change up in cras collects fires to First and there's two gone following the strike out here's the Red's catcher Tyler [Applause] Stevenson and it's fouled away the line of the pitch and that's off the inside side edge ball one there at the knees that's a little bit low drilled out towards left center field that's well struck and out of here he'll touch them all it's his eighth home run of the year and they cut into the deficit it's 64 that gives them hope they can pull off this comeback they just need a few more swings like that and they're back in [Applause] business oh that one got in the jet stream on a line we saw the numbers on the backs of the jerseys of the outfielders which is usually bad news and all of a sudden they're back in this ball game and Carion strand in the Box again takes a [Applause] strike foul ball two down nobody on swings through it and that's a strike out but not before they're able to draw closer with this blast it's now a 64 ball game it's Major League Baseball on the show welcome back we're in the seventh we have a new pitcher on the B Fernando Cruz and one thing on him he's been really good this season at keeping the ball in the park not an easy guy to take deep and the pitch yich leading things off and takes a strike Cruz measures 6' 2 in he features a splitter a for seamer a cutter and he works in a [Applause] [Music] slider down on strikes and that's the first out pretty much textbook pitching for the three pitch K right there jumped ahead 02 on two pitches he didn't want to go after at the pl then knowing he's going to be a little more aggressive trying to protect he expands just out of the Zone where he couldn't do anything with it he gets the strike out and keeps the pitches thrown to a minimum very nice now here is Andrew monasterio and one that one fouled off Bas is empty one away here in the top half of inning number seven and two away now now B and now the catcher comes up to hit William contras and it was a homer back in the first inning that got his day started at the plate yeah boo two-run blast as fans were just still getting into their seats here the ballpark so if you showed up late to this one you missed out on a big moment early on there at the knees and it's O and one hey seven straight strikes to start the frame he's got a chance at an Immaculate inning and there's the strike all right there's eight one [Applause] away that one misses and the count one and two got close to the immaculate inning and he just couldn't find the zone right there when you think about it nine straight strikes so tough to do he goes down looking impeccable command in that one three batters three strikeouts that's electric stuff out there on the [Applause] mound we're back in a new pitcher here to start the bottom of the seventh these are the spots relievers really make a name for themselves late and close there's not much margin for error but at the same time there's a reason they're put in these situations the pitch in there for a strike at the bottom of the Zone well these Reds digging into their numbers have to be happy with the swings they're taking we've heard lots of loud noise coming from their bats in this one haven't we I mean they've lost six hits at 90 plus exit velocity that doesn't happen by accident Ellie De La Cruz getting ready to hit and that drops in for a [Applause] strike on the ground right side and he handles it himself for the out man four pitches two outs that is an excellent face so two down now and here is TJ frel he swings and misses at the first pitch one going to really need to hang in there with that front side against this left-handed breaking [Applause] ball ripped on the ground to Second fires over to first three up three down inning over Reds go down quietly they Trail it here back here at Great American Ballpark we go to the eighth now it's the short stop Willie Adamas Cruz back to work and fires in a fast ball at [Music] 95 and that's off the Inside Edge one and one right hander kicks he s swing in a and it's one and two well he went inside a couple of times and now outside's not exactly sure where to look for this next pitch and that's outside and the righty deals swing and a miss at the splitter and it's a strike out well that's the effect of the splitter that you're looking for on the mound really nice pitch right there and had him out in front over the top I'm sure the batter was thinking he was getting something else perhaps a fast a little more straight and Bel to it Hoskins batting with one down takes a strike and that's outside and one and one and that one finds its way through so they get a man aboard with a one out single couldn't have timed it up any better than that got the top of the ball a little bit but not much that was hit pretty hard through the infield so I think he'll be happy with that swing definitely generated some good bat speed in the now no balls in a [Applause] strike that's a strike across the top of the zone bals that off to the left and will do it again again Hoskins the base runner at first with one out lined in left Center and that should be extra bases around third the relay throw he's safe big to pad their lead up to three just a solid swing right there got it out front and into the outfield for the base hit those always feel [Music] great one down here's the center fielder Jackson Chio swinging a foul back that's out of play one out and a runner at second that one misses and the count is one and [Applause] one and there's a ball he's getting a little frustrated out there on the mound getting hit around a little bit let's see if he can settle himself down righty to the plate tulo and it's ball three and he chases that one below the Zone up the middle throws the first in time next for Milwaukee Christian Royo that one finds the Zone one dangerous spot for that slider right there didn't seem to quite finish out front and get that sharp break tell you what he doesn't want to throw that pitch again and a foul ball two outs and a runner a third and we're in the top of the eight out to short Del La Cruz tosses to First that ends the inning and stops things from getting out of hand Brewers pick up a run on this RBI double it's now 74 back after this on the show back now new pitch on the mount as we roll into the bottom of the E Abner now it's the right fielder will Benson the right the pitch that's inside got to keep things airtight defensively right here on your toes ready to make a play if you can get this to the ninth with a three-run lead it should be a [Applause] w the pitch nope that's inside Bo he never moved cuz he never had time to but that kind of velocity you'd prefer that pitcher work away good hitters count the two- wouldn't chase that time that one a triple digits three balls one strike bounce to the left side Adamas the throw to first one up one down at the play Matt mlan yeah I'm looking at his body language and he just doesn't seem like things are in sync and the ball's just not coming off his back the way it did earlier in the regular season right through there for his [Applause] strike out of the zone and a called strike quickly into an 02 count both pitches were down in the zone I think you set your sights a little bit higher because you'll have a tendency to Chase if you look down in that area and a pitch foul ball it stays nothing in two righty delivers ball the Reds trailing by three here the bottom half of the eigh swing and he breaks his back tosses to the pitcher covering the bag two up two down as a h it can be kind of tough you get a throwing Rel that comes in the ball game you don't know exactly what his pitches are doing and that clearly blew him up on the hand s off that bat tell you what the bat companies they're pretty happy when guys like this come in out of the bullpit here's Joey Gallow one for three F back ourway and that's out of play well it's critical right here that they bear down and turn in some quality at bats try to chip away at that lead because if it gets to the ninth that closer is coming in next pitch is outside two down nobody on you're in game one of this three game set next pitch is downstairs [Applause] swings through that one out in front that time two outs swings through that and it's a strike out and it's a one two three inning nobody left for Cincinnati and they're on the wrong end of a 74 score we're back it's the top of the n and there's a new pitcher on the M Emilio p while he's been a really tough guy to take deep this season you usually have to string some hits together in order to get to him and he deals ripped to Third and caught that swing right there tells me he's seeing the ball pretty well I know it didn't produce a hit but he made Solid contact and that's all you're looking to do anytime you're at the plate and now it's Christian Yelich three pitch strikeout last time up got to put up more of a fight in this one the first offering is close double barreled action in the bullpen Lucas Sims loosening up for Manager David Bell Jabo getting loose as well ground ball right side and foul ball clobber to right field way back off he'll Circle the bases and they add a run it's 84 that's their third home run of the game they're having a lot of fun at the plate in this one they've got the long ball working for them on autopilot that pitch looked like the splitter but normally doesn't stay that high in the zone the bottom falls out at least to bring it around belt level but that one will stay up and with that kind of velocity it's going to get hit really hard as it did right there one out base is empty Andrew monasterio up now for the Brewers a curve misses outside Off the Mark there and it's two and0 when you get ahead in the count there's no doubt that the success rate goes up and that's what he's been doing it's made a big impact for him in recent games that one spoiled and they count now two and one one run across in the frame so far here at the top of the night way [Applause] high this one in in the air Stevenson under this one two down that was a good pitch to hit right down the heart of the plate had pretty good timing on it just got underneath a little bit and popped it up two outs Bas is empty here's the catcher William [Applause] conteras and a swinging to miss in the on De Circle you really want to use that opportunity to see some pitches and time up the fast ball last thing you want to do is Miss a good hitable fast ball early in the count popped foul out of play off to the right two down nobody on foul ball still 0 and [Applause] two next offering misses down and away [Applause] on and Miss Str him out that ends the frame another run for Milwaukee with the Homer it's now 84 you're watching Major League Baseball on the show back now as they hand the ball to a fresh arm to start the bottom of the N Bryce will he last pitch two days ago now jamer candelario the wi in the pitch and a foul ball that one pushed foul and a pitch one ball two strikes Cho to First and he takes it himself for the out Tyler Stevenson the next to hit for the Reds they say he win oh and one strike two no ball two stri one down Bas is empty the punch out there and there's two away in now for the Reds Christian and corosion strand struck out on just three pitches last time this one smacked out to left Center and base hit well clearly he was ready to hit right there nice line drive to the P side right there but he didn't spin off of it that's the key you still have to extend through the baseball in order to hit a line drive like that Fairchild in the box with two gone and takes a look at a called [Applause] strike missed with a chain jum and that's ball one two outs swing and a Fly ball in the air out towards Right Center field makes the catch ball game and the Brewers take game one of the series on the road it's always nice to grab the opener of a series you come into a new ballpark and just sometimes things aren't as comfortable as what you've been used to the mound doesn't look straight the background isn't what you like but they didn't let any of those things distract them in fact they look like they were playing a home game excellent job to set the tone for this series and our final here today 84 for Chris Singleton and our entire outstanding crew here at MLB the Jo I'm John shami we'll see you soon the final line score from
