Grant DuBose on wide receiver room: 'We make each other better'

On receiving snaps as a run block I think it was the Flur or AEL who mentioned that LE Flur showed a couple of your snaps as a run block into the team as an example know you're competing it's part of your role but is there a a moment of that feels good to kind of have that as the example yeah I mean it always feels good you know um when they can be able to put your film your product you know in the team meet and um and it's good you know you don't want to get called out for anything bad but you know anytime you know they you can get praised or you know they can you know show some of the things that you did well you know in front of the team and the other guys be able to see that you know what you do and what you put out on the field on film you know it was always a good feeling so um you know it did feel good in that moment I say that On first catch first catch you had did you feel like you could have busted it out a little longer you met you were pretty mad you got Tri up honestly I I didn't even see the defender I um when I caught the screen and and I got to the edge I saw the endzone it was nothing but Green Grass and honestly in my head I was like they just let me crib a screen like I I thought I had a touchdown so uh next thing I know I was getting tackled so I was a little bit upset about it just cuz you know I thought I was going to be able to get a little bit more out of the play but um you know unfortunately I wasn't so for people who don't play On playing in the preseason football can you describe how difficult it was to be watching preseason last year versus this year actually getting to participate um like I was just telling them it's it's always difficult uh you know cuz of course you want to be out there with the guys you know playing alongside your teammates but um you know sometimes I'm sorry I'm hearing them in the back but uh you know sometimes you just got to you know wait wait on your opportunity uh just stay down you know keep getting better at your craft and uh eventually you know when your opportunity presents itself you know you'll be ready for it so um know this is kind of the mindset and the mentality that you have to uh you know to have uh you know during you know anytime that you're you're uh I guess deprived or something you you know not out there so uh I guess you know that'll be my that was my mindset you know for that past year you can only control what you can On WR depth chart control and all that you know all that of course but do you kind of wish this receiver depth chart wasn't so good like you like damn wish these guys um no I I wouldn't say that um you know we got a good room good group of guys and uh you know we make each other better I feel like we do and you know we compete at a high level and um you know when you go out there and see other guys make that play it kind of pushes you to want to go out there and make two of them so um at least that's kind of how I look at it so uh you know I don't wish anything you know we got a good group of guys you just kind of got to get in where you fit in so um you know that's that's that's how it is here so what's it going to take to uh go out in Denver this weekend and do it again I mean everybody says you know anybody can do it once but it's the guys who can you know do it multiple times like what's it going to take um I mean first uh you know hopefully I can be able to breathe right there you know I I heard the attitude kind of bad out there but um you know you just got to go out there and you know do the things that you've been taught do the things that you've been coached to um don't let the moment get too big for you cuz uh that's when you kind of play out of uh play out of whack I guess you know whatever you want to call it try to make the plays you know just just doing what you've been you know coached to do and uh you know the ball finds good energy so um that's the mentality um did it last week now I just got to do it you know again this week and you know the week after so On playing in the NFL would you have ever thought when when you know you're at Miles College they cancel the season and everything because of Co would you ever like you're you're out here playing preseason football catching passes you know I mean did did you did you think this was coming down the road or not yeah I mean as crazy as it seems I I always knew I was going to you know play it you know in the NFL out of mes College uh I just didn't know how you know when it was going to be and you know how I was going to get there but um you know going into college that was always my goal to be able to play at the highest level so um I always knew it would come true um I put in the work behind it you know to be able to put myself in position and uh like I said it was just a matter of you know when and how I was going to get here so
