having me here it's been such a privilege to be part of your journey how has it all been going and how are you doing well good slow I guess I don't know I was very nervous I think uh before today I did text you I'm like I'm not sure if I practice enough if I did this and that but it's I guess it's a normal thing isn't it it's very special to have you here as well because you're the main person who got me into it yeah I just get so excited to see someone learning you you you remember all those feelings it's like falling in love with something all over again and I can see you going through this process and it is a real it's a real joy to see you going through it and you're a natural as we've said many many times times you've got wonderful proceptive awareness because you're so in tune with your body every single movement in your body micro movements you just know what's happening where's your pinky toe where's your left big toe you know so you're the dream student to work with yes and today we've got another opportunity to get out there I'm really looking forward to focusing a bit more with you on the chipping and the potting okay very exciting yeah let's do it oh my God it's just beautiful isn't it golf is the place where I'm taking time for myself for my head and it's just good for mental health I think being outside in fresh air trying to switch off everything else it's just wonderful feeling isn't it just amazing that golf gives you permission to go and spend time in big green Open Spaces yeah and wherever you go around the world they exist golf exists everywhere look at this beautiful chipping green I'm excited about this chipping is a very important part of the game when you're learning golf it's very useful to have two kinds of Chip shots a low one and a high one okay y now the low one is what we will use 90% of the time I'm going to show you why now if we're going to try and throw a ball to that hole what do you think will be more effective an underarm throw or an overarm throw an underarm why do you think that feels more natural isn't it I don't need to get it anywhere too high it's just kind of here and you hoping the bul on the roll there yeah yeah exactly there's a lot more that could go wrong in an overarm because the landing spot is much further from me now so let's see what happens I'm throwing it up to the hole hoping it's going to break back from right to left not bad I'm pretty happy with that really happy if I was doing a high one my landing spot is going to be more like up here somewhere because it's coming in high but we must decide where are we going to land the ball MH so let me have a go let's see much more up to the hole not bad Dan promised me he will introduce me to lovely people and Iona is definitely one of them it's just just clicked in a way was interesting I had a friend saying she speaks your language okay so the reason I'm telling you this I'm talking to you about this landing spot is because it's it's a way that I want us to start being kind to ourselves on the golf course because if you pick a landing spot and you land it on your landing spot but the shot doesn't work out you can still say well done Nadia cuz you you delivered your intention so in chipping we set our landing spot that's our intention with a low or a high chip I'm going to teach you now how to play the low chip okay okay let's go when we chip the best bit of advice I can give you is to always think about your zip yep because the zip is where our sternum is in our body and our sternum is what controls chipping it's not our arms so we keep our chest moving to the Target and we say there you go little stum have a look at that yes okay wonderful brilliant okay come and give that a go and remember the most important thing is that you brush the grass brush the grass your head and your body are coming up up uhhuh so so when you chip if you just go to set up and you swing back and as you swing through right now you're kind of going that way when in actual fact I want you to keep turning your zip to the Target okay okay better strike very close nice really nice yeah this the connection felt a bit better what we're going to do now is we're going to have a three-hole chicken competition okay me and you right let's go okay now they are closest to the hole okay low low chip shots only M and I'm going to use my right hand only game on let's it oh no it's way short go ball go ball go ball go ball beautiful shot but what's happening too much power and it's running down the hill cuz it's on a down slope let's go and take a look nobody really threatening the whole there but I think I've just picked you yes you might closer shot number two right over here wait on my left hand side see how the shaft is leading forward and I'm just going to rock back and through now it's so soft you see the way it dug into the ground that was beautiful just with your bright hand that's creates a magic pretty close actually M yeah but I brushed too early didn't I caught the ground before the ball but it's not a bad result okay okay we've got one more hole to go we're going to go double quits down the last let's do a longer one from up here down to that flag okay in the hole not bad beautiful you see how it it got to the the brow of the hill and then it ran down yeah how do I bit that imp I know you can I absolutely know you can oh so many things to think about yes Nadia that was a gorgeous Chip Shot come back come back come back no it doesn't want to come back it didn't come back cuz you're just a fraction two to the left that was a wonderful little Chip Shot it felt a nice connection I brushed the grass the direction are not there but like you said um I did two things out of three so well done great I love this chipping thing I think the most wonderful thing and anything you do is the way how you get in somewhere you plan to and it's day by day I always say it's baby steps it's every lesson I have with Iona to improve and hopefully be a step or half a step closer to be able to play the best I can [Music] okay Nadia pting love this part of the game but it can drive you bananas but you got to bear with it putting again much like chipping is all about feel and finesse nothing is done in a hurry everything is controlled MH I'm thinking about Rumba oh I like what you're going SL you have all the time but very particular you need to really hit its right oh potting the Rumba I'm loving this and I want you to think of like a big grandfather clock and you know the swinging bit inside of Grandfather Clock it's just it's like a pendulum isn't it it is a pendulum it's going D D D dong nothing in a hurry it's just a natural weight of the Potter back and through and it's so rhythmical it's almost like a heartbeat and it could almost send you off to sleep that's what potting is like it's so gentle it's so full of finesse nothing is done in a hurry now we're going to set up to the ball with our feet roughly just about hip or maybe a little bit wider hip width apart I want you to feel like your lower body has been laid in cement it is so so still often you can think about your your bottom touching a wall and you got to keep it on the wall as you make the pot now when I set up to the ball my ey line is directly over this ball if I could borrow your ball for a second if I get where my eyes are and I drop this do you see how it's directly on top of the ball that's really important and from there I'm just rocking the triangle it's a nice part really nice part wow that had some power didn't it not sure why and how that happened I knew that I need a great C coach to kind of help me walk me through that Journey ion what's that person is that person and hopefully she'll be there with me through the whole way let's do another hole and let's keep practicing pretty good well done oh robbed that looked a lot better at the thir time right okay so show me mind yeah only we' known so this is a short pot that you have so what kind of back stroke does it need tiny yeah yes yes that's it okay yeah yes okay that was perfect just a little tickle tickle a little tickly right here right now I feel very positive about golf I have a very very long way to go but I'm really loving it and I'm finding it just wonderful strictly versus football I'm on my own
