SAAS-FEE SWITZERLAND | Mittelallalin Glacier, Marmots, & Alpine Hikes – Ultimate Summer Itinerary

hey guys welcome back to our Channel we are this weekend in SAS this is one of these hidden gems in Switzerland that I want to make you discover because this is just incredible this is the home of mmmut and [Music] Glaciers welcome to SAS a Ski Resort Village nestled in the Canon of valet in southern Switzerland this carfree Village is accessible by a train connection from visp and the postbus 511 to SAS this lesser known destination is home to some incredible activities whether you're searching for Alpine marmots skiing alongside a glacier riding a mountain coaster or visiting a soaring Peak that is even higher than the Yung fra Yak Adventure aitu in SAS let's go explore so something very special about SAS is in the summer and in the fall you have the sasal this is if you stay in SAS in a hotel they'll give it to you and you'll have all the gondolas that are free so you can go see glaciers for free with that SLE cut so definitely worth taking advantage of it so like yes like zont which is also in the same Canton you can't have any real cars here so they have those tiny little e taxis yeah but unlik Z M it isn't like an e taxi Highway yeah it's really nice so peaceful and quiet and this is the meeting point for the SAS Gorge and Vata I have done this in the winter you can do it in the winter and in the summer and this was really fun I'll show you a few highlights of the experience but this was the Alpine Canyon and I loved it when I did it it was pretty easy I think it's a Vata that is really available for almost all it's very safe very secure going down not too much physical effort so definitely recommend it all right let's go back to our hotel and then we'll show you more and this is the beautiful Chalet of the valov and so this is our room I actually love the whole wood and coziness atmosphere and look at these amazing views from the valley Z on the glaciers even have actually because we have our little daughter with us another very cute room so at the tourism board which is at the entrance of the village you can buy for six Franks the peanuts with and you have a cute little bag and apparently the MMS this is the best thing for them you can give them carrots but the best is peanuts or even just give them some flowers that you pick around them but let's go explore and see some Ms so to go to to stal where you have some muts apparently you go to the church and then you go up and you have some very cute Chala here that reminds me a little bit of what's at the entrance of the village and we'll go see some MMS so we are in Staal this is walking distance from SAS pretty easy steep to go up but pretty easy I think in 15 20 minutes you can come here you have a lot of holes of mammuts and we'll show you a few you can take carrots you can take peanuts and the love it you have to be very very quiet and and let them get used to it and yourself and then they'll come eat your peanut and and carrot let's show you some [Music] Ms marmas make holes in the ground so this is kind of what you're looking for and they make a sound that kind of sound of like a bird people we'll give them peanuts and carrots and they pop [Music] out wow beautiful [Music] for dinner we headed to the on-site restaurant the Cesar Ritz in the valer ho this is well ranked with the goo it has 13 points they offer alicart options as well as a 4 to8 course ranging tasting menu that you can enjoy so to start day two we are heading to the alpen express Gondola station right in the heart of the Village and we are heading up to 3,500 M which if you can believe it is even higher than the Yung fra Yak top of [Music] Europe and so we're going there and from there there is a Metro kind of train that goes up all the way to the top and there will be higher than actually the Yung really incredible the glacies that you can see from [Music] here look at these us and Glaciers [Music] woo so going to the Metro Alpine over there [Music] so I'm now on the midle Alin this is at the top of that Metro Alpine and you have amazing views on so many mountains a lot of different 4,000 Peaks also it's just amazing you see glaciers [Music] so this is the 360 view that you can have from the summer from the M Alin 3,500 M and look at these views on glaciers all [Music] around so you have if you are not well equipped you have some uh warm equipment and here is the entrance of the ice gut oh and I feel it's [Music] cold you can see the different layers it's very very transparent that ice [Music] so now I'm in front of the fait hban this is a mountain coaster that goes pretty fast it's cool because it's open in the winter and in the summer so I wanted to show you also in that video how it is like to do that mountain Costa let's [Music] go so it goes right away very steep the whole way up and then you go down this is I think the steepest you go in Switzerland this uh Mountain coaster and for now I'm just enjoying the forest before going down let's [Music] go all right that's it that was awesome so we are in here we're going to take the G to spielen with all the MMS and then we'll go a little bit higher up if it's possible to go see some glaciers so we were actually here in the winter and in the winter in the evening they organize a f gond and you just go around for a bit more than an hour and enjoy F so we'll put some footage of this but that was a highlight next time last time we came to SAS and just wanted to share this even if it's summer so here you can already change but we're going to continue towards Spiel B [Music] so out of Spiel Wen you have an amazing view on glaciers on waterfalls on the mountain and there is the mut Trail there you go down a little bit we saw already quite a lot of Halls of mut down so let's go see our little friends the [Music] moment so there's one in here you see our daughter's trying to get [Music] peanuts so now we are going to take this G to go further up and closer to the glacia so we're going to Leng f with that cool GBL he's very excited to go there and we are getting with this closer to the glacier so arriving and this is just incredible this view on the glacier and we paid absolutely nothing except the hotel to be here because with the SLE card you can come all the way up here for free so we are up at L flu and it is almost August and you can see tons of snow behind us I lot of you guys ask where there's places you can get snow even if you're here in the summer cuz you're from warmer climates so this is one of them and like Louis said before it's totally free to get up here if you're staying in SAS which is cool so you can see all the mountains glaciers snow behind us Louis is making Tiny Little Snowmen with our daughter and it's just a really nice experience if you're looking for some snow and for reference again we are here it is the very end of July so like the hottest part of the year and this is kind of the amount of snow you can expect so going up to hanik you can see hany gasa this is another Gondola that is brand new apparently and there's a cool playground and stuff to do up there so let's go [Music] see so this is the D station and then you have SAS over there down there and then you have probably the best views of the region with these glaas all over it's really nice in the summer actually because you see the glaciers and you see the contrast versus just having snow everywhere in the winter and you can do quite a lot of hikes even some that are some vatas and some tougher ones are just leisurely walking and enjoying these magnificent juice River's going to C when you're going [Music] will you go continuing a little bit further on that uh nice hiking path and I think it was so appealing this Valley with almost nobody in these Rivers I'll just go this is a 2 and 1/ half hour hike I think I'll go see it's um mostly downhill and uh let's enjoy some beautiful views and so it's been yeah 20 minutes and apparently an hour to go back down to sou so that's what we're going to [Music] do behind River's going to cry when you're gone and we're going to go listen to some music because during the summer there is the SAS
