The Rangers yesterday played two games here and they won both of them. They were both close, no doubt, but the Rangers getting those two wins can go for the season sweep. Now of these White Sox nick Nes has been recalled from AAA Charlotte to make the start for the White Sox Neni is making his seventh MLB start his first since June 8 against the Red Sox and said a foul tip caught into the glove for strike three. Here's corey in the 270 29 home run, 21 offer popped up over near third. Vargas has his sunglasses on on this bright afternoon and he makes the catch two away and now josh Smith will come to bat. The pitch to Smith is hit in the air the other way to left. No problem for Bennett 10, a couple of jog steps to his right and makes the play. Mastrini with a nice 123 opening inning on nine pitches. We always love when big game is out there. Nathan Eval has one of his best performances of the season against the White Sox in late July actually is only game of the season in which he recorded double digit strikeouts and he'll look to get these Rangers a sweep in the final game of this series, a swing and a miss at the curveball. And of all, he gets his first strikeout of the game. Here's robert Junior, the right handed batter, he swings and launches one high in the air to right center field taveras ranging into the gap and he hauls it in and is out number two, it's andrew Benintendi coming to bat. These guys are former Red Sox teammates pitch in there for a strike three nine pitch. First inning. Eovaldi picks up a couple of strikeouts. Miguel Vargas coming up now check swing but that's in there for a called third strike fastball to the outside part of the plate. So Vargas is the second out and for Eovaldi, his third strikeout that brings up Nicky Lopez. Lopez went down swinging in the first and he strikes him out with a fastball 97 that 1/4 strikeout of the afternoon for of all the veteran right hander is come out firing this afternoon apparently a pretty good day to pitch. Look at those numbers. Fourth inning is here and nobody has come up with a hit yet and boy, he's looked really good in a great month of August 295 with 10 homers 23 RB. That ball is blasted down the right side deep out to the bleachers and gone 30th home run of the year for Corey Seager number 200 in his big league career and he has the Rangers in front one. Nothing. I couldn't see that ball off the bat, but I heard it left the bat at 113 miles an hour and traveled an estimated 406 feet and that 200 home runs as a left handed hitting, he's the first left handed hitting shortstop in major league history. Pretty cool milestone. Nathan Eovaldi takes a 10 Texas lead to the mound for the last of the fourth two swing and a foul tip into the mid of Jonah. And Benin has struck out five punch outs for grounded to third his first time up today, a 22 pitch on the way and hits one deep to center field back goes to stop short. The track makes the catch has not given up a hit through four. Josh Young not known for his speed, not a guy that's typically going to have too many infield hits in a season, but he feels it from the second that that ball is ned off the end of the bat hustling all the way and just beats the throw two to one. The runner goes, the pitch is inside and low and it is dropped by Lee and that's a stolen base for Josh Young, swung on and hit high in the air to right drifting back on its fletcher just in front of the track. He'll make the play. Young will tag and end up at third. There are two outs. So with two outs and a runner at third, it is up to Leo Taveras to try and get that run home one two coming. He got him looking on a fastball out on strikes. Big strikeout for Arini. They strand a man at third. Here comes gavin sheets to face Nathan Eovaldi sheets grounded out to short his first time up swinging a one hopper pass. The shortstop Seeger that will get into center with the first hit of the day for the Sox here in the bottom of the fifth inning ranger infield at double play depth. Nathan has induced eight double plays this year and he is a ground ball pitcher for the most part bouncer third. That could be two young to second they get and semi on to first for the easy 543 double play. Eovaldi is so good. It's almost like he knows exactly when to look for that double play. So right handed batter popped out to short center his first time up swung on and a bouncing ball over third diving stop by young gets up throws. He got him a glittering play by Josh Young diving across the foul line and stealing an extra base hit from Leine. So in the inning, Rangers up 10 , Josh smith, the batter and he hits it high and deep into right fletcher gets turned around, he leaps it over his head off the track in the wall. Fletcher plays the car. Here comes the throw. Smith slides in ahead of the throw a double off the warning track in right for Josh smith just missed hitting that one out. And now Smith in scoring position for Adolis garcia swing and a broken bat one hopper to third picked up by Vargas and he throws him out. What a performance by nick Mastrini. Welcome back to the White Sox. He did his thing and Eovaldi, he has faced one over the minimum so far. He's allowed a walk and a base hit but a double play is up the race, one of those runners swing and a miss struck him out, elevated the fastball and Fletcher is out on strike that six strikeout three two and there's a strike out of Vargas. So Eovaldi back to back inning. That's seven this afternoon nasty stuff and a two strike pitch lunging swing and a miss on a curveball from Eovaldi Eovaldi at the top of his game here today that is eight strikeouts for Eovaldi strikes out the side in order in the sixth and a New Hurler in for Chicago and right hander Lander Broa Nathaniel Lowe leading things off here in the seventh inning. 31 hit sharply over first. That's a fair ball. So says CBB, it goes down into the corner. Lowe around first on his way to second. Fletcher picks it up in foul ground. Nathaniel Lowe has a lead off double and he's two for two here against Broa in the last two days. Bara with some work to do here as he takes on Josh Young and he taps it back by the mound, cut off by the second baseman Sosa and his throw is off line. I don't get that. Lopez was there and Lopez was going at the play. That is to say to first base, that's a nearly possible play for Sosa, josh Young. Two infield hits today. That's probably the first time that that's ever happened in one game infield in about half way and another check swing a roller to third. It will get a run home and the third to first in time to get Langford kind of look like more of an oops kind of swing early in the count looking for fastball and you see something else and the Rangers add on here in the seventh and now lead two to nothing. All the really efficient so far today allowed one hit and one that one stays outside ball, four, second walk for the Sox here today. Andrew Vaughn the batter and now the 1 to 2 pitch and that's in there for a called third strike fastball on the outside corner, second out of the inning, make it nine strikeouts. Now for Eovaldi back to our breaking ball strike, three called on sheets and that's 1/10 strikeout today for Eovaldi matches his season high, which he also did against the White Sox well traveled right hander de Los Santos, 28 years of age from the Dominican on the pitch here to face josh Young with runners at 1st and 2nd and 2 outs. And the Rangers leading 2 to 0 in the eighth shoots this one to the gap closing in and sliding making the play fletcher to keep a run off the board. The tying runs are on with two outs for Nicky Lopez. Lopez has struck out all three times today. A ground ball backhanded by Seager. He throws from his rear end and he got him at first base. Curry was going over to cover second. The ball was hit to his right. He had to stop, lunged to his right wound up on the seat of his pants. There was nobody covering second. So he had to throw to first, didn't bother getting up. He threw from his backside and got it. That's amazing. That's a two nothing rangers lead to save opportunity for Kirby Yates. And so, yeah, he's on here in the ninth have been held to two measly hits, both singles popped up. Now he's got to race over into foul territory off of third and he overran it. That ball just hit the grass behind the coach's box. So young kind of kept creeping to second base during the at bat. So new life for Benintendi, that's a no play cue the fireworks. It is just a one run game here in the ninth inning, 15th home run of the season for Bennett Teni and he continues his strong second half of the season. Yeah, that's one where young, uh , you can just tell by his body language at third base is he knows a playable ball that he didn't get to. His pitcher is paying for it. And here's Vaughn, he's zero for three today. He's zero for 12 in the series, 32 swing and Miss, he struck him out on a splitter. That was out of the zone. Vaughn to chase one down in his shoes. And that is the second out of the night and it is up to gavin sheets with outs in the night. He's 0 to 2 in his career against Yates with two strikeouts. The ground ball hits slowly the second base charged by Simeon he gloves, he throws, he got him and the ball game is over. The Rangers win it 2 to 1. They sweep this series three games to none. They sweep the season series seven games to none over the White Sox.
