Manuel Ugarte HERE WE GO! He's perfect for Man Utd

and more uh Transfer News everybody uh Manuel Ugarte has reportedly traveled to England to complete his transfer to Manchester United yeah Andy brassel was talking about him on on OTC and saying why PSG are willing to sell him yeah should I pra that for you guys because those people who listen to who haven't listened to OTC godamn them yes um basically he was saying that they feel that he's a bit of a limited player and that his use work on the ball is um is not quite right where they want it to be and they feel like they overpaid for him and therefore they're willing to let him go but I'll tell you why um this is a great signing for for us for him to go to Manchester United yes and that is quite simply because he's a maniac and he gets stuck in so much all the time that it can only end well for fans of a Football Ramble you know what though I think obviously people are as you say there's a little bit of trepidation about his Progressive passing he'll have kobby M next to him he's a very good Ball winner he likes to scrap this is exactly the profile man united need they have to get harder to play against in that area of the pitch they they just have to because they give up so many shots against them good point that's where it comes from he looks like an upgrade on casemiro if you sort of look at the numbers compared to last season I know the the leagues are possibly not a perfect comparison and we'll see how we'll see how that comes out but he I think you know maybe it's a bit too much of a basic tactic to win the ball and give it to Mayu or to a lesser degree Christian Erikson but it is but it is potentially an upgrade on what they already have yeah I I agree with you I think that what Andy was saying about him and and and bearing in mind what you're you're saying there you know apparently he likes a sideways pass well that's fine give it to B as you say because in the middle of the pitch Manchester United have looked so soft for so long and Manu has been brilliant in there but you can't have him doing everything and that's really not his his his role so much is you know playing in front of the back four and trying to trying to win the ball he can do a few bits and pieces but he wants to get a little bit on the ball and get for a little bit um but they have to do something they just simply do I mean against Fulham and then against um Brighton I mean Vish said that you know he he saw a few little improvements but I mean a team could have a few little improvements from one week to the other that's just football isn't it right everyone plays a little bit better they tighten up here and there and then it's Rob Manchester United are exactly the same this season as they were last season nothing has suggested otherwise so yes get a mad bloke in the center of the pitch to tackle people it's something is something who kicked the [ __ ] out of Gabriel Martinelli when he was at sporting and got sent off didn't he I'm pretty sure he did if he didn't get sent off for that he definitely sized him down in a EUR Le so I think I think it is somewhat good for Manchester United and it's and it's and it's pretty damn good you for 360 Potential from where we exactly but but the issue you guys are right to say the things I spoke you said there but but actually we're skirting around the main issue when it comes to man united it's not that they're not they don't have the ability to go and get good good players you know like I mean Andy was also saying about when United went in and got decked they went to Bayern Munich and said you know the current transfer market being the way it is we we want delict they got a good deal and Bayern said well you were not going to sell him for less than this and and man united were effectively saying well we know you need to get rid of him so we'll sign him for at Le thanks very much and they eventually got him the problem isn't that because they can always really do that they can go and do 100 million on Anthony if they want and obviously they expected Anthony to be a much better player than he's been so far man united are always going to have money and they're always going to have a poll but the problem is what players they turn into when they arrive and it's easy to see if a type of player that Manuel agarte is who makes rash decisions sometimes who likes to get stuck in it's really high stake stuff because if he gets it wrong in his first couple of games because he's desperate to impress and his career there never really gets going he just becomes another one who's like okay well he cost a lot of money and he's highly rated and we got him from PSG and we he's a player we needed but actually you know what we can't get a tune out of anyone because the environment is terrible then it's not going to make any difference on paper it's a great signing though kind of what they need at the very very top level you wonder how good he is technically that's all I'd say but that's fine but they need to start getting back into the conversation for even Europa League spots and and fourth spot they're not going to be challenging Man City or Arsenal soon say I would always say actually because a lot of the big refrain about top players now in the modern game is you know they have to be technically so good and everything I still personally believe there is a place particularly in certain games that are important for a player who can just do the really tough stuff and do it in quite a basic way and control the game in that way and give it to the players that can play I just feel like we won't ever really live in a world where there's not going to be a place for that in top level football of course and so that's why he's an international player and that's why he's going for such a big fee because there is a place for it yeah no all agreed um gentlemen I want to uh briefly mention perhaps um uh a saga that's been going on this summer mark gay is he going to go to Newcastle is he not from Crystal Palace apparently they are closer than ever Jim to agreeing it's h it's a fee for nearly £70 million I mean clearly when it was 60 M no 65 it's just they just want to get as much as they can I think Chelsea have um uh a percentage of the deal perhaps cuz whatever it is but I just thought to Newcastle it's like just give them an extra few million cry if you really want this player and I think you should go after him because he's a quality player then just get it done well 70 is the number they they wanted from the start isn't it if reports are to be believed Soul said yeah I I thought this Saga had gone away this is very much sort of like can it be a saga when the main guy in it's not saying anything at all about any of it yeah well this is the circus isn't it all back in the day when it was a Carlos T Saga he was piping up all the time true unle Mar never speaks yeah but neither does Gareth Bale and that was a saga in Real Madrid wasn't it Gareth Barry to Liverpool never happened alienated zabby Alonzo Barry never said a word that was the worst one ever by to me this this Saga is a bit like like the bad boys franchise oh that's back I haven't thought about that in ages I thought this one had gone away and died down but no he's he's back back I mean yeah um it would be a it would be a sort of potentially sort of Legacy signing for Newcastle I think if um if they can pull it off he could be the sort of player that will be around when they're sort of challenging for titles and things if they you know if their road map plays out in the way they want it to I think he's you get certain players that are sort of transformational to a point right so Kieran Tripp trippy is a great example because obviously he's aging he's going to get you to a point and then he's going to move on and you'll be at a better Point than you were when you started I think gayi they be looking at him as someone who will be who will be there for the Long Haul be there for when gay is a future England Captain right yeah so potentially and he's already captain at Palace speaking of Palace they had a big win last night I should say for to ramble fans out there who are a fan of our admin practice Andy Brussel was scheduled to come on the show today but um sadly Sean phip Mata got a couple of goals last night so an overhead he's yeah he's hiding hiding away it's quite pathetic really it is actually yeah for a man of his a man of his ability and reputation I mean brussel's not not Mata um but they won for no against norwi and it's what they needed because I think all three of their um forwards scored as well um and and just to approach it from the Crystal Palace point of view you know 70 May 70 million May well be the number but ultimately the numbers are relevant if you can't invest it back in the team and keep and preserve your Premier League status as a result of it now I know that's a dramatic way of looking at it because you know not many people think Crystal Palace will be relegated but they're in danger of if of seriously being if not completely gutted they've been filled and and it's not a great way to start the season well I mean so far they've they've kept hold of ezar and Warton we you would hope from their point of view that they basically good news about the wut absolutely well I don't know because they're crucial parts of of that team that was flying at the end of last season D kimar is a really good signing that's kind of gone on the radar a little Bor last night as well scored last night and Jean FIP Mata ever whatever Andy brassel might tell you from behind the sofa the anti-growth Coalition the anti-growth Coalition indeed um who hate this country in everyone in at 27 years old looked like he might be one of those late developing players that suddenly just has so much in their locker as you say Mark he's SC an overhead kick last night he's he's he looks so mobile so so just there looks like so much sort of Elegance and finesse to his finish because his shirt is so tucked in maybe it's that but he he did not look like that previously and he's had some sort of you Revelation going on there and it looks like there's you know no one's going to try and take him away from them and he you know if he car janary indeed but he looks like a player who if he has another season like he did have at the end of last season there'll be a big bid in Waring he could be like a Tony absolutely and I think you know I think Palace are going to be fine even if they do lose another player or so but with all that in mind though I mean apparently they've agreed a 30 million P deal to sign Eddie and ker from Arsenal yeah so you that's for that that deal Freddy and KY was fallen through at two different clubs already so you'd be careful about announcing that yet yeah but the thing with that though is that apparently he he wants to stay in London and he had um the inside track that Palace would make a bid for him at some point so that's that the story is that that's why he turned down Long Forest I think Mars is a little bit different but that was a while ago now yeah but I mean obviously you're right to talk about MATA in those kind of terms but you know they're getting another player in there to kind of to push him yeah to push him or I mean maybe they could play together perhaps I don't I mean that' be nice wouldn't it little man up top yeah I mean glaz's got a bit in his locker so perhaps there's thinking there so I mean they they are you know making a few signings or at least trying to because you're right to point out about in K he's nearly moved twice so we'll see what happens there which is my favorite Jones Bond movie yes it's a great one yeah it's really good um what do you think of this chaps Liverpool have started making moves as the door the transfer it's a window isn't it so as the window starts to uh is it a sash window or a bay window it's a shutter okay so that means it's more like like a nor traditional opening window so it's like that no up and down that's that's a sash window sorry join me join me get on board easier to slam it's easy much dramatic to clearly not a shatter you're absolutely right SL window that's a it's a SL SL window SL window yeah to the Jungle you got to think to the living room yeah U well the Liverpool proba have reached reportedly reached an agreement to sign Valencia and Georgia goalkeeper Georgie madash villy great stuff one of the Stars one of the one of the fan favorites of the European Championship it's an amazing throwback because he's a player that um we all know and love from a tournament and that's we know it doesn't happen that much anymore it doesn't happen that much these days so they've gone for a proper old school signing and what's really interesting about it is because some places are reported that he's actually um it's actually confirmed it's going to happen well he will join at the start of next season right which is crucial that well that's interesting to me because I was listening to something that Allison was saying yeah um Al Becca yeah a day or two ago he's only 31 by the way he is but he said that he had had he had rejected the move to Saudi Arabia saying that he wanted to stay with Liverpool for the rest of his career but there was seemed to be some kind of ination that he wasn't actually going to play that much longer that he didn't really want to do it for much longer and so maybe that's you know done with that in mind or maybe it's just the case that Liverpool are a massive Club they want to get players when they can yeah mmad he like 23 something like that he's already got amazing reputation he being such a great Keeper in fact a lot of people say that he is the next big Superstar keeper so it makes sense for them if they can get him just to get him right yeah it also puts Kean kellerer in an interesting position because he's of such quality that you would think certainly if if what you say about Allison is true Luke that he might reasonably stick around and think you know what the number one will be mine if I'm just patient um but with a signing like this surely that's going to make you think twice about that he's he is too good to to not be playing I think it'd be interesting to see what happens with his future yes you're absolutely right they're also in talks to S Federico ker from from Juventus I'm I'm very happy with that as well as many Italians as possible as far as I'm concerned I just think the way Liverpool play even in the early stages of what we've seen with with slots Liverpool kesa is a player who who who is so positive and so Dynamic and always wants to make things happen and I think that's perfect for Liverpool I think he's um he's a bit inconsistent isn't he seems to be the the thinking on him you don't have a huge of attacking Italian players that have done massive things in in England right I mean the ones you think of what Zola and VI [ __ ] some time ago now long long time ago now ravanelli batelli yeah but really know not B didn't set the Premier League on fire he's not like a great fire very different though is he's not a premier league great though is he better tell you player think you know what he might come in and burn his house down little mention for Bonito Carboni if you don't mind while we're there I wouldn't mind Andrea senzi the brush okay the brush I'm sure I'm sure we're missing somebody somewhere um right uh coming up in the second half everybody a celor in wolver Hampton responds to Noni mada's Post finally absolutely yeah we're hearing from the political class uh Chelsea are still signing players and we've got an email about pissing during football matches see you in a moment you know everything was a challenge I'd eat an apple in the you know watching the the the TV at night and the bin would be by the TV you know six meters away or whatever it was and well I would just do it I had The Bravery to to miss and for the to be a stain on the wallpaper and my mom to absolutely scream at me but the next day I'd do the same and I'd be bump and it go right in the middle and my dad would give me a nod of approval and my mom would be seething but couldn't say anything CU it went in welcome back to the Football Ramble everybody couldn't say anything what timeline are we on well that's a real clip that's actually happening don't ever go a man who's got that kind of Bravery look it sounds like Chris Morris yeah doing a [ __ ] joke [ __ ] program do you remember that time when um Pete walked in and just threw a cup of coffee at the wall in the studio yeah we didn't think that was Brave did we no we oh he's doing it again go and get go and get the straight jacket and I won't tell the listeners what Andy did with his green tea no but it involves Yan phip Mata and that's what we'll say on the matter U we have got an email Marcus as you um very excitingly pre- promoted before the break with my friend Cameron um who says Hey guys big fan here from the US do the accent hey guys no I'm not let's presume he's from the Deep South it's a really long email I'm not doing it I'm not doing it it's disrespectful to a great nation um he says he guys big fan here from the US I've been catching up on recent pods and I now feel compelled to share a personal story of having to go pee during a match yea uh yeah you do do a few of those punctuate with a few of those and people will know they remember believe people from other countries love it when you do that regardless of the country you say Sonic americ now Jim for example ye there that's it um go then Dunkin Donuts oh right in the first year of high school 14 years old or so I was playing in goal for our high school team for the end of our season and then the playoffs long story short I got thrown in when the starting goalkeeper got a multi-month suspension for bringing a knife to school uh so there I'm walking here oh dear as it's in the US could could have been worse anyways back to the story it was our first match of the playoffs and against the big rival team it was an extremely exciting game and we were tied 1-1 at full time in our state the extra time rules were to play Four 10minute periods no matter what happens in the third of the fourth the four periods as someone went down with a cramp and needed a trainer out for help we've been playing for nearly two hours at this point and I realized I really needed to take a piss the only bathroom was on the opposite side of the field 100 plus yards away and I had no shot of getting there and back so I had to sort something out it was a wide open pitch so nowhere to hide from the fans the teams for the second match fans yeah I know right High School sports right the US right right yeah the teams for the second match were warming up and hanging out as they had expecting to kick off 30 minutes before so I ran towards them and asked if they could build a human shield so I could kneel down and take a slash there we go like absolute gentleman they helped me out and I was back in goal by the time the game restarted that is fantastic it's great he Brotherhood the refere was n the wisest and no booking here but in a sick twist of fate I was pulled from the game from the penalty shootout by the coach who was my dad the replacement saved none of them oh no and we were knocked out and to stick it to the old man I went on won four straight shootouts in other high school and Club competitions I will never let him live that down my goodness now it's immortalized here twists and turn I thought the story was going to go like my dad stitched me up in that way so therefore I took a piss on him but it never went quite that way in the end liy yeah but there we go so if you if you've got a story yourself um of of being able to go for a very eventful or emotional um urination during a football match um then then let us know let us know show football.com good to hear right uh speaking of um pissing let let's go to speak of someone who absolutely will be cleaning the toilets if it carries on um apparently Kea ARA balaga has agreed to join Bournemouth on loan he has been assured he will be the first choice Keeper at AFC Bourne mouth most expensive goal Keeper in history yeah and now he's being assured it would be the first choice at Bournemouth It's a cruel game sometimes well it is a cruel game although potentially a pretty good move for him because you know Bournemouth are are you know in the second season under arola there's every reason to suggest they might kick on true how old do you think keer is now he's 29 why' you ruin that well no he's 29 I didn't wasn't asking looking straight at gy the Spirit of the question is it all right let's do it again go on Jim how old you 29 yeah gu see you're more F now no I don't where you go this isn't [ __ ] Marcus spell trivia hour this is the Football Ramble [ __ ] all about you mate it's about keer where's this attack coming from shut up get get on with hosting the show oh I see the evil access has found another couple of members isn't it nor um well look he's he's 29 years old um e be 30 in October next birthday how about that but I mean joking the side he was on loan at Real Madrid last season and he signed a new two-year deal he signed an extension he was going to be out of contract this this season he signed a good New Deal he's a champions league and a La Liga winner they've essentially signed a goalkeeper they already had yeah which is amazing Galaxy Brin even for Chelsea he had 14 appearances in the league last season that was surprising to hear that 14 14 of the buggers well I mean CW had a big injury didn't he and I guess there was a bit of competition between him and lunin but there was and Lunen sort of well yeah I mean but but still though he you know he played his part somewhat in winning those medals sure so to go from that you think okay back at Chelsea and then he's Bournemouth yeah I know what you mean it is a bit of a funny one um but it could be it's a chance for him to um to to get his career back I say back on track I mean I suppose it would be play as a number one yeah cuz he so highly rated and and and such an enormous fee and did play as a number one for Chelsea for a while um but it didn't quite work out we thought maybe he might have a similar trajectory say David de Gea when he first came to Manchester United people saying he's a little bit like weight and so on um but of course de Gea became such an important player for Manchester United over the years just not the same with with Boro keer it's an interesting situation because they've obviously got Netto in situ who is you know not a young keeper he's 35 now but he's Captain yeah and so you know I'd be interested to know what he thinks about it um no one's probably asked him no it's just there's there's a new there's a new sheriff in town fairly obvious but keer we've also yeah but Kea we've also seen as someone who will cause problems if he doesn't get given what he wants cuz remember andari at Chelsea kicked off didn't he well that he was on the pitch was he not and yeah but he didn't want to be subed off so he refused to go off yeah I mean that's that's one incident isn't it it might not be indictive of his entire character yeah you've often you've often got your guns pointed at Kea for some reason yeah I just think because that was hilarious yeah it was and also that was bang in the middle of the period of time or just before a period of time where he as a goalkeeper he just didn't make any saves which I think is a very weird way of interpreting the role he an important thing to do as a goke I think so I think so yeah absolutely I don't know I mean Chelsea as we know have signed um Mike penders from gank he's not a real player sounds like an American Dad doesn't he yeah he won't join the club until next summer apparently we we've definitely had an email from a Mike penders before on this show 100% he's not a real player so that's like the I think is it the ninth goalkeeper um the club obviously he's not coming till till next summer but you know I am starting to come around to the idea that Todd bowy might be a genius um I had no time for that possibility at all before but I am now acknowledging that it it is possible because you know obviously everyone's laughing at Chelsea in their transfer strategy and how many players they have even though I think that the the total of players people talk about quite often includes like U team players that they that they've signed who are not meant to be for the first team but the Omari Hutchinson deal is a really good good example of what they're trying to do working well where they sign him for about 2 million quid he I don't I think he made one appearance might not have even been that went online to ipswitch had a really good season with them they sold him on to ipswitch for 20 million quid so that's a huge profit and essentially they're just trying to do this over and over and over again aren't they and it's a bit tedious isn't it is tedious and it's weird um and I wonder how helpful that is for some of the players where that doesn't work um but that is the plan and we do have examples of it working well when we were talking on WhatsApp last night about plan the show today and what subjects we want to talk about Jim you posted the following messages in the group Chelsea have just signed another goalkeeper I know Chelsea signing goalkeepers has been a lot lately but they do keep signing goalkeepers indeed and so we have to talk about oh yeah yeah without doubt and that's and we can enjoy it sure it's the new VAR massively no one wants to hear about it it's boring you edited those messages a no I stumbled over them because Jim's um typ in was very very poor and language atrocious it was terrible actually yeah actually unacceptable in these today's modern standards yeah well well um Jim Chelsea a reportedly making a move for Ivan Tony when is it all going to end is happen I don't think it is going to end that's that's the thing about it be fair though we did say this when Tony was was out for GR you know became painfully obvious and actually to be fair it sounds ridiculous to say this but it is an area of their squad that does maybe need a little bit more there's a there is some real talent in there they might accidentally win the league just by signing so many players as got you that I wasn't on the show when she he won 62 markers I bit gy he was he had both barrels focused right on me I thought how can we threaten him what can we threaten him those Polaroids are they still relevant so there's talk of there's talk of sanch as a sort of swap with that's on hold until Friday yeah but maresco's also said he wants a Defender as well so there's and obviously there's a lot of people going to shuffle out this might be the greatest deadline day in history just because of Chelsea it's on a Friday night it's not it's not going to be better than that mad one when Dimitar bov went Manchester United and was robinho to man city was that that one or maybe that was a different one they both happened very late I don't think they were the same window there might have been I can't remember that was it's going to be chaos in those last hours yeah it could be it could be hopefully Andros towns and manages to get out of there as well although that's a different story I don't know who owns me yeah sort of thing that um Pete would say when he's in that party of that sex [Music] done just running around his hands say I don't know who forgot who [ __ ] I am who owns me Benny has had a heart attack have you seen chelse does a safe word work or not have you seen Chelsea released a new third kit inspired quite simply by punk punk in the way Brew dog's Punk is about to say it's not Punk is it it's basically the football kit equivalent of wi Urban outfit has started selling like 12in finals and Appetite for Destruction t-shirt that's how Punk it is yeah it's so punk though that the N tick is a different angle subersive massive Corporation we're in on it as well I wonder how many layers of approval that went through oh my goodness yeah well I would say sorry I would just say that Chelsea's kits generally I think are quite distinctive and quite interesting the one that because obviously this season they've got that one and it was sort of lava lamp oil slick thing yeah but didn't they they said it was something to do with I can't remember the reason but it was a load of old bollocks but this one um The Club statement said about the third kit born in Chelsea Punk was all about youth trailblazing energy and standing out being not like everybody else it's part of who we are yeah Chelsea yeah the pun hedge fund Chelsea's got the least Punk hair in the world now to be fair though like the sex pistols and all that it was yeah very different times people don't I don't think people would realize that they would probably assume it came from East London they do now because your cultural correspondent Marcus SP has told him I'm telling you you're welcome guys yes you are but Chelsea could not be less Punk now in any every conceivable way yeah it's it's I I couldn't couldn't agree more I mean if some kind would Fulham be less Punk than Chelsea I think you probably lump those areas together okay okay yeah I mean if you if you were Arenal if you were thinking about starting a new kind of um you know satter's Punk collective in Chelsea now your feet wouldn't touch the ground before you got taken to the nearest County border like get get out You' be banished get out of the royal Barrow of Kensington and Chelsea immediately you are banished from the burrow do we still do banishment we [ __ ] do here get out I think it well we look forward to seeing them in their third kit representing I I would just say I remember going to see them at St no at um Craven Cottage I last season Marcus started last season I think it was you and I and it was an evening game yeah they lost two n they did and um one thing about Chelsea's kit whether you're into this kind of stuff or not or whether you think it's what football's all about it's more just an observation a neutral observation the way they had styled their Crest and the Nik tick was designed to be reflective of the fud lights and it really did make an impact you could see it do you know what I mean that that material they used for it which shiny is it yeah which I didn't see any real other club using I thought actually from you know as disgusting as this sounds from like a branding point of view it was very interesting it's not Punk no there's nothing Punk about it well again we can all agree on that arbit of Punk that we are yeah the punkest is it these shorts are from Reese there are there we go um tonight the carabel glugging continues get stuck in there are two all Premier League clashes uh which strange for the second round of the carabel but there we are there will be Premier League teams going out of it this early West Ham host um Keers Bournemouth and Newcastle travel to Nottingham Forest Eddie hows confirmed that Sandra tanali will be in the squad having served his 10-month ban for breaching betting rules um obviously last season tanali in Newcastle Squad gym a massive massive um addition for them isn't it I mean we barely got to see him it's very much the sort of like a new signing category isn't it and he's been training the whole time Eddie H talked about his level in training being really really high so I mean he was someone they were expecting to be able to rely on a lot last season he made an impression he did in in the in the early games you played and they they've kept hold of Bruno gimmer which you know for for about a week looked like they might not at the end of last season and then that that just died down and and no danger of him leaving at the end of the window you you would think and that that is a very very tough Midfield Duo yeah yeah and and you've got to bear in mind the context easy to forget this because he's been out the game so long toar but most expensive Italian player of all time yeah crazy 70 about 70 million or something like that he was full of beans when he arrived he looks a really good player and he looked a good player before he came to England of course um he won the Ser didn't he um at Milan yeah he was only full of beans cuz he was eating weather spoons though caribel probably beans and caribel he's only played eight League games for them yeah you know that's yeah that's the reality long long way to go yet before but I mean obviously he's not come off the back of a real physical injury so he you wouldn't expect the the um match Fitness might be a problem but I'd be surprised if they've not been playing like behind closed doors games and stuff to keep him up the speed so you'd hope he hits the ground running actually indeed indeed wolves host Burnley in uh it's a big encounter yeah very much big encounter Burnley um obviously just back in the in the championship um now say that like they wanted to do that yeah they' had enough of V let's get back down there um well uh as mentioned earlier um uh a local counselor um a council leader you might call him in wolver Hampton Steven Simkins has responded to non mada's claim that wolver Hampton is [ __ ] and madek again has apologized for this he apologized in the postmatch interview after scoring a hatrick he did and he did say I'm sure it's a lovely Town yeah so which sounds worse you made a different assessment earlier you were looking at it what he should have said is he should have said now I spent some time here it's clearly a very nice place and I should never have said it and I look forward to coming back and scoring another hatrick yeah but he was thrown under the bus though because he I thought he handled himself well ultimately the clearly the media lay on put him up and they didn't have to put him up in the postmatch and they scored a hatrick it was it was a difficult situation because ordinarily every broadcast is going to want to speak to him because he scored a hattick but they couldn't not ask him about that stuff and it felt to me like that wasn't the place to talking about that stuff he could have given an interview later on in the week or something it's always going to be he had it was a part of the game though the booing and everything and and added an extra bit of spice so I I do think it was relevant to talk about that after yeah I love that he picked up the match ball from the little cone absolutely big time he's a great player I yeah I wonder if um carsley will be looking at him Le Carley possibly possibly him and Morgan Rogers M V I think maybe the two big additions for the for the well the much anticipated and well needed International break next week we're all looking forward to that aren't we I am yeah I know you are why why' you say it like that carry on can we get back to Steven Simkins we can it's his moment this is his moment it's his time to shine this is his Susan boil moment Martin McCutchen yeah Martin McCutchen yeah um simkin said Mader clearly doesn't know about wolver Hampton's Rich industrial history oh you've not helped yeah when you hear that he said it's a bit [ __ ] and when you hear what Town's big on industry it tends not to lend itself to beautiful architecture and lovely plazas and all that kind of stuff but still I've not been to wampton so I can't say um he said so it doesn't know about wolver Hampton's Rich industri history or that it was the first place to have traffic lights what a defense what a defense does he mean that as the club Knight maybe maybe he does so so here's how wolver Hampton don't really help their case I went online earlier to find out some wolver Hampton trivia which I thought could accentuate a great area in a great part of the country and we could talk on the show in an evenhanded way about what a great place is cuz like you Marcus I've not been there either no but we're going to a back to school disco on a Friday night there no I found a quiz a wolver Hampton themed quiz here we go uh online about the the city uh and the first question it's a trivia based qu this is the first question about wolver Hampton there was a shortage of coffins in wolver Hampton in 1918 due to a serious outbreak of a rickets B scarlet fever C the plague or D influenza what a Grim start the answer is influenza part of the Great Spanish Flu I imagine but that's that's what they've opened with my goodness so traffic lights a rich industrial history and a shortage of coffins I've I've genuinely never been to happen no I haven't either yes you have when you did a little piece there oh of course I have I'm been to molu that's how great it is I completely forgot about it I went to wolver Hampton actually do you know what I've remembered that now how would you compare it to jillam there there's it's better than jilling him yeah there there was a very interesting I wonder if it's still there but this was during the time of Nuno yeah this was um a there was a big Portuguese Enclave that we went to did a few piec because we doing a v premier league did did a few pieces from different Portuguese cafes and there genuinely was like quite a large amount of Portuguese people there yeah so I know that's they all play for w that's what I'm saying that's what it was like at the time yeah poies to the great place I've done a non madaki you have I've forgotten I even been there no you you didn't slag it off I scored a hat trick as well did it just wasn't filmed sadly uh well um I should say that uh Simkins went on to say if wolver Hampton is so bad then why would Bob Dylan a proper Superstar pick to play not one but two gigs here if it's good enough for Bob Dylan he says he has an opportunity to do something really funny isn't he wolver Hampton I remember that [ __ ] you w't understand what he's saying have you been to wolver Hampton gym uh I have in my student days I remember nothing about it okay CU you you went to buring for University is that is that when you went there okay fine okay Robert Plant's um from there isn't he he goes to a lot of wolves games apparently someone was telling me that M wake he doesn't care about any of this no he doesn't he really does not so but someone was telling me genuinely that they went to W Hampton for work fairly recently and um they went to a local pub and on the sign of the pub on the sign outside the pub was like a like a handwritten sign or typed out sign saying this is Robert Plant's local pub please don't bother him or ask for a photo um leave him alone when he went in there plant was in there sitting on the having a beer and no one was approaching him he's not even his Pub he's decided that he doesn't want people coming over put a sign up with you you must you must have a bit of sympathy though with um Steven Simkins L because his his city is being slagged off and he's say right I'm going to defend it now he may not have picked the best arguments there yeah but the city of Portsmouth right get a lot of stick yeah city of Portsmouth people think of it as not the best place yeah and you but you're you passionately defend Portsmouth you talk about its history I also agree with him well you I've heard you say a couple of times like I know it's not as nice as Southampton but still it has its merits so you have a bit of sympathy with with Steven don't you it's quite an obvious attack line you've gone for there Marcus I think you be a bit more creative than that I'd like to show solidarity with Steven Simkins all the all the councilors in Wolverhampton but I've learned a lot about pouth history through you yes you have there's a lot of there's a lot of history to the great City I mean exactly see you calling it a great City military history is incredible there there you go it's amazing you know very very so much stuff to do there and sometimes what we're saying is if you may not like a city straight away you think this is bit there there's layers to it got to peel back some of the layers you got to got to go and find the good stuff wolver ham is part of the industrial Heartland of this country is very important um strategically and and historically and the orts must the same for different reasons and what we're not going to get anywhere of doing is by us you know deding the world working class types here we're not going to we're not going to get anywhere by turning on each other we what we need to do is turn on the ruling aristocratic class and bring those [ __ ] chinless horse [ __ ] down and and and show a bit of unity together the means of produ and we're going to do it in Chelsea thirdd kits if you got the new Arsenal kid he's not that rich no one is I do but I don't think it's real oh I see I see solidarity to wolver Hampton jok in as side wolver Hampton Gilligan ports whatever yeah great places full of proud people and a fine part of the fabric of this nation and we should make that very clear well it's funny you say that cuz NY Miki went there Rec and he said it was [ __ ] yeah he did he did yeah so I mean there's two signs you been as you been to your town Ram in each London very unlikely would you like to defend that place no absolutely not I don't even want to be buried there Jim that's why n m would not be welcom in Portsmouth unless it was on some kind of Lone play deal in which case he'd be very very welome be a permanent deal I think can SL off all he was it wouldn't be a per thank you for watching a clip from the Football Ramble podcast don't forget to like this video And subscribe to the
