CFB Rankings after Week 1 & AP Poll Reaction - Damo College Football Rankings 2024

all right welcome back ladies and gentlemen to another top 25 by Doo we're going to go back through the rankings uh now that week one's over uh and everybody has officially played football well most teams have officially played football I'm sure there's still a couple teams that haven't uh but every team that really matters just play the game so uh we we are going to get back into the rankings I haven't seen the AP poll yet although I have I've tried to avoid as much as possible there were a couple thumbnails on YouTube that I just I just tried to go past as fast as possible um but I uh I'm going to try to do this without uh without uh taking a peek at the AP polls so um usually these will come out sooner uh the only reason this one took so long is because the last game was played on a Monday which I mean it was Boston College in Florida State so it's not like really mattered um but Boston College could could be ranked I mean you know so uh and I didn't have any time on Tuesday or Wednesday to make this so uh usually these will come out probably on Sunday I'll probably make these on Sundays but um I I just didn't have time uh this last week so uh this is when this one comes out uh but let's get back into it so we started off with Georgia number one they are going to stay right there uh and I also can't look up the scores because I looked up the scores just a second ago and I saw AP the AP rankings changed so um I I can't look up the score so I'm going all just off of memory it's been a few days so uh you know I probably have uh forgotten some stuff but I remember uh I remember the import things so um starting off Georgia we're going to leave Georgia right there at number one the Bulldogs U that is right where they belong but I can tell you what we're not keeping the same Ohio state is not staying number two and Oregon is probably not staying number three I think we can go ahead and put Texas boom right there actually to be honest I don't know if Texas deserves number two for me it's between Texas and Alabama uh that that's who deserves a two spot Ohio State look like complete trash uh on on this weekend uh frean Idaho I think it was Idaho the vandals uh had had Oregon down to the wire and I think Ohio State ended up blowing out akan but I was checking that game in the third quarter it was like 17 to 17 I mean it was close uh so and and they should not be playing with akan like that I mean they they should have blew akan out of the water so uh those bad for against Bad teams you're supposed to dominate um against good teams it's okay to have close games uh but against Bad teams you're supposed to dominate so especially if you want to be a top a top five top 10 team uh so what I'm probably going to do is we're probably GNA go the question is would I rather if these two played on a field who would I think would win and honestly I think Bama would win like the reason I gave uh Texas the the benefit of the doubt uh on the last poll was because they beat Alabama last year but Alabama came out and just I I don't know who they play but they destroyed them it was it was not close um just Total Domination by B I I mean Texas dominated too I I guess there's no reason to drop Texas below uh Alabama based on that but um Texas played really good uh so here we go we we'll go ahead and put Alabama number three uh that's not going to get settled uh on the field this season but uh we'll see what happens over the course of the season now the real question is how far do we drop Ohio State in Oregon um we could just go ahead and put Ohio State there at number four but like do we think Old Miss could have beat Ohio State this week maybe maybe um anybody could have beat Oregon this week anybody could have beat Oregon this week and uh shout outs to my boy Dylan Gabriel you know I I wish you the best of luck but um you were going to have to turn it on uh and the vandals can't be giving you guys a run for your money uh here's what I really want to do I really want to raise Utah um Utah looks good I know they're going to finish uh probably his big 12 Champions but to be honest I think Utah is probably going to take a couple losses and I think if you put Utah I can't put Utah above Miss because if you put Miss uh against Utah I think everybody's taking all Miss in that situation Oregon in Utah dog I put Oregon behind Utah um Utah and Ohio State or Old Miss in Ohio State I'm kind of thinking I'm kind of thinking Old Miss but I don't want have four SCC teams in the top four I mean to be honest that's kind of my reasoning there so we'll go ahead Ohio State might be fake but we we'll let them we'll let them wait and prove their figs we'll go ahead and leave uh Ohio State there at number four we'll move uh utop to six Michigan's going to lose to Texas this weekend um they're not looking good so we can go ahead I think drop Oregon down there I'm wait no no no no we're going to drop Oregon further down because I'm going to put OU up above Oregon uh from what I saw also I was worried about U losing to LSU uh in Baton Rouge uh week 12 I'm no longer worried about that that's not happening uh LSU Also let's go ahead and do us a nice favor LSU the whole reason I faked out last last week I I said I was going to put USC on the top 25 I went ahead and put them there at 25 because I was hoping LSU would win and give me the honor of taking them out of my top 25 but uh no no Ellis you couldn't get it done and they're going to go right down here also Notre Dame look terrible against Texas A&M and I know Texas A&M is not good so um they're moving down uh USC is goingon to be 24 uh on whatever rankings on these are B's also going to move up but okay let's go ahead and move Oregon up uh Oregon down to number nine honestly I think OU would probably I probably move us up to the top six but I'm going to lose right here at number eight for right now um Tennessee actually Tennessee would have beat Oregon as well I I would take Tennessee right now against Oregon um Oklahoma State I I think they're just moving up uh because LSU moved down nothing too crazy there Penn State should maybe go ahead of them but we'll we'll leave Ohio State ahead for now KU I'm still liking KU Georgia Tech what was Georgia Tech's game this week I don't know I'm pretty sure they won though so they can stay ranked maou also Buffalo looked like ass as well I'd probably take VY Over Buffalo or Colorado North Carolina can North Carolina move up I don't think so Louisville Clemson Kansas State mou who really had some good performances maybe Miami so the top 10's good uh Georgia Texas Alabama Ohio State Miss Utah Michigan U Tennessee Oregon I I think that's solid I think uh Oklahoma State being right there I think Penn State being right there is all fine I think Kansas being there is fine Missouri uh right there 14 also looks good I don't really want to move Georgia Tech up to 14 uh 15 um but I might but I might so Miami looked okay they took down uh Florida although Florida looks terrible um who else did we have oh also uh one play of the week's got to go to the uh USC kid that caught that uh that one-handed ball I don't know you guys have probably seen clips of it on uh on Sport Center and everything U that was a crazy ass catch and I say that as uh the biggest USC hater um that was really good play uh I hav't scored points this week uh so that's not good for the rest of college football if they figured out how to score points um I think Arkansas had a good week but they're not going to the top 25 Florida State's not moving Boston College could come up I guess just trying to think of uh how everybody else did this weekend but I don't I didn't watch the Georgia Tech game I didn't watch Kansas State game I didn't watch uh Clemson or Louisville so I guess here's what we'll do we'll go ahead and move Georgia Tech up here we'll keep Kansas State uh Clemson right there uh Louisville can stay actually you know what let's just go ahead we we're going to go ahead and take a peek at the rankings uh college football scores uh last week okay so they've got USC at 13 that's not going to affect me at all um so Arizona W 61 to 39 that's honestly pretty bad um Idaho and Oregon okay see this is why Oregon moved down um Miss destroyed Ferman although furman's on a real school so Alama destroyed Western Kentucky okay so Kansas state did win Florida Miami won Ohio State won Oklahoma State one wow Oklahoma State's not ranked how about that um x 152 to nothing Tennessee 169 to3 Iowa beat Illinois State Louisville here we go 62 to nothing okay we can leave them ranked uh Clemson lost to Georgia yeah that's right uh there's no shame in losing to Georgia but if you lose like I said you move down and to be honest they're still probably a top 25 team but uh as long as they're on one they're not going to be in my top 25 um lyen wood so Kansas destroyed londen wood um all right I guess those are all the top 25 games apparently uh where is okay let's check the BYU score the NC State score uh okay go back BYU okay so they took down Southern Illinois 413 got a game with the SMU next week what is NC State doing okay so NC State play wcu and 138 21 that's not that's not inspiring any confidence in me uh okay so NC State's going to move back as well we'll move BYU up these guys got to stay at 24 um North Carolina also Notre Dame's got to be behind USC because uh USC will beat Notre Dame later on in this season uh let's check the North Carolina score uh new window let's go North Carolina score 19 to 17 but they took on Minnesota that's actually a real that's actually a football team so uh you know good good win for them we we'll keep them up here uh Vandy is going to be be just above USC and honestly I think USC would be Vandy but uh we're going to go ahead and leave Vandy ranked right now we will put Miami up above them we are also going to put Vandy above Colorado so um you can say I'm just hating on these three schools and uh you're probably right you're probably absolutely right um does NC State still to be deserve to be in the top 25 uh also let me check Louisville real quick just to make sure L will store take on Austin P beat him by 62 okay that's not too bad not too bad I mean they're kind of garbage but what can you do and do we check the uh North Carolina score I know I know scores don't mean you know you got to you got to watch the actual football game to know but I mean you I only got so much time in the weekend so we can't watch every single every single game although I try to keep an eye on any game that matters I can't spell Carolina to save my life okay there we go oh it was 19 to 17 yeah du okay so I think I think this looks okay to me I don't know about NC State um NC State probably needs to come down um I don't know who we would replace them with though like I can't think of any any team that had just like a crazy crazy week um I think this looks okay we'll go ahead and leave it like this for now this be uh my my week uh I guess it's my week two AP poll but really I mean it's it's after week one I'll probably title it week one AP poll or we week two I I'm not sure I'm not sure what all that's side but uh that's is what I'm generally thinking Georgia would beat Texas Texas would beat Alabama actually I still think Alabama would probably beat Texas um but I think we're going to beat Alabama so uh you know we can't can't always use that for the rankings uh Ohio State Miss Utah Michigan Oklahoma Tennessee uh Oregon and we got Oklahoma State Penn State Kansas Missouri Georgia Tech Kansas State Louisville BYU North Carolina the U Miami and then Vandy Colorado South uh USC uh Notre Dame and NC State although I'm not feeling too great about NC State um but yeah I think I think that looks okay uh Arizona could maybe be up here honestly let's put Arizona up here instead NC State let's do that um okay I think that looks solid and now let's go compare and contrast to the a PO I have not actually looked at the AP po yet uh now like I said I've seen some PE Peaks uh week to AP po all right ncaa.com what what have you got for us Georgia number one shut the up shut the up oh my God oh my God uh okay so we've got Georgia one and at the number one spot Ohio state state number two what a wh um Texas uh moved up from three who moved down oh Oregon moved way down Oregon moved down uh but not below pen state or is there number nine that's good uh Notre Dame is number five you gotta be me they watch them play uh they watch them play Texas A&M right I guess not I guess these people ADV um okay so I I just want to say for the record uh Alabama would destroy an in Dame Old Miss would destroy Notre Dame uh Orin would probably destroy Notre Dame uh I bet who do who did uh Oregon play this week I bet Idaho would be Notre Dame gosh they really got a huge Boost from uh well I guess they were R okay that's just that's just Notre Dame coming into the season overrated as uh that's that's what that is right there because they started out at 7 uh okay uh next up we got Old Miss uh stayed right there at 6 Notre Dame jumped Old Miss this is this is crazy Notre Dame is not good Notre Dame is fake as hell uh from what I watched uh they are fake as hell uh that was one of the the Notre I watched that whole game live you can go back and watch the live stream I was bored out of my mind that whole game game it was awful it was one of the worst football games I've ever seen in my life um just no offense just no offense at all these Notre Dame and A&M do not have an offense and A&M's gonna go eight and four because their schedule is going to give them eight wins but um A&M's terrible so a win over them does nothing for me uh Miss Miss should be higher uh Oregon should have dropped probably lower uh Pinn State at eight I think that's fine Missouri at nine that's a little high I I wouldn't put Missouri at nine Michigan down a 10 I don't think you can put the defending national champions below uh Penn State I mean I don't I don't think you can put Oregon above them right now good let me go back do we have Oregon above Michigan no we don't no we don't good uh okay Utah at number 11 that's solid number 12 last week Miami Florida moved up from 12 to 19 because they beat Florida I mean what what are we doing here what what are we rewarding uh if you beat an absolute dog team by three points you you win or you move up seven I mean I know they be Florida by more than that but Florida's a poverty program like I mean I'm not going to lie Oregon's win over Idaho might be more impressive than Miami's win over Florida just just straight up uh South car USC moved up from 23 because they beat LSU another dog team that was overrated not not Southern Cal they're going to do okay honestly The more I've been thinking about USC and the Big 10 the more I think they're going to do really well because the Big 10 is full of trash schools that uh want to run the ball and once USC gets out to about a 14-point lead on those teams their whole strategy is going to go out the window um now I do think USC is going to have to deal with uh playing in the cold there's going to be some things that kind of kind of prob shake them up a little bit so they might catch a couple of weird losses but honestly I think they're going to do okay but I'm going to leave them down at 24 myf because uh they're going to move up one spot at a time and the moment they lose they're going to go all the way out of the pole for me uh okay next up we have Tennessee number 15 Oklahoma or Tennessee number 14 Oklahoma number 15 Oklahoma State right behind us Kansas state right behind us LSU does not even drop out of the top 25 um I get it you think USC's a good team but LSU does not deserve to be in the top 25 uh granted the team's good um but Brian Kelly's a terrible coach I mean that that man uh lost them the game uh from what I saw but okay if you want if you want to leave LSU in the top 25 so you can uh overrate all your other SEC teams when they beat them uh I guess I I understand where you're coming from uh it's really shady and I wouldn't do it but uh that's up to you uh well I guess you know the AP poll is a you know it's it's no one individual it's just a bunch of bad it's just a bunch of individuals making bad decisions um because when it's a collective group of bad decisions then it it makes it better um Kansas got a win Iowa got a win they were 25 moved up to 21 we had three teams drop out I'd be curious to see uh oh Florida state is definitely one of them uh Louisville uh moved up to one and0 one and0 from ranked Georgia Tech moved into the top 25 I was ahead of the game there uh Inc State what the is it Clemson one and am I looking at this right they watched the Georgia game right I mean correct me if I'm wrong but Clemson lost that game I'm not sure maybe maybe I'm tripping uh maybe Clemson actually won that game uh you know okay okay so Clemson 1 and0 uh they fa to 14 after after beating Georgia they fell from 14 to 25 after beating Georgia apparently uh even though they didn't beat Georgia and got the absolute kicked out of them the whole week um granted I I'll say this for Clemson most teams would have got the kicked out of by Georgia so there's really no shame in that but uh you also shouldn't be the top 25 right now you got to earn that back uh NC State is also in the top 25 and they're talking about biggest movers Florida State collapses um yeah 0 and2 in week one or by the end of week one uh we do have Texas at Michigan that is going to be a good game I'm I'm excited for that one might go live for that one if I can uh 1200 P pm. never mind never mind that's gonna be too early um Boise State at Oregon Arkansas at Oklahoma State that should also be a good game bunch of bunch of good games at the 12 uh Georgia Tech Syracuse not really interested in that um okay and who who's the biggest movers uh USC with a 27 to 20 win over uh poverty LSU and uh my Miami Florida jumps up after beating poverty program Florida uh just got to get that SEC boost uh Notre Dame cracks the top five after holding the Aggies to just 13 points I I'll tell you this a group of toddlers could uh hold the agies defense to 13 points I could hold you could put 11 deos out there and we could hold uh Texas A&M's offense to under 13 points and it has nothing to do with the athletes on on on the defensive side of the ball it has everything to do with that offense being completely inep they they are oh my God they are they are terrible uh so yeah that's kind of that's that's where my head's at that's my immediate uh thoughts on the top 25 the AP Top 25 let me know uh if I'm crazy or let me know if they're crazy uh I'm probably the crazy one but Jesus that that ises not I think my poll looks solid you know uh USC is probably a little underrated you know maybe they should be in like the top 15 but I think down there at 20 oh no they're supposed to be 24 so Arizona you're going to have to move over here and honestly I think Colorado would probably lose to all these teams too but um we're going to ignore that for now and V's gonna move up to 21 because congratulations Vandy on your win also I watch the SEC shorts if you haven't watched the SEC shorts go back and watch it it's super funny um Vandy is King for a Day uh but that's going to do it for uh the demo top 25 I hope you guys enjoyed it um also sorry it didn't get up earlier but like I said uh football was still being played on Monday I didn't want to do my poll before the before all the games were over and I also um I I didn't have time the last two days so yeah that that's why we are where we are uh these will usually be up on this Sunday after uh game day so they should be up pretty quick after uh from this week going forward but I hope you guys enjoyed it uh let me know what your top 25 is or where my top 25 went horribly wrong um you know a bunch of people probably think Tennessee is better than OU well we'll find out when we uh had to uh no we're not going to neand they're they're coming to uh to Norman but we'll we'll find out soon enough uh only got what three more games in between here and there or two more games but
