Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival Vlog - Opening Weekend 2024

Intro hi friends and well met we are excited to be returning to the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival in today's video one of our favorite annual Pittsburgh events and happening now through the last weekend of September we are visiting during the opening weekend to take in the sights sounds and tastes of the Renaissance join us as we peruse the entertainment try our hand at some games of skill and up on some unique and Classic Fair Foods and yes there's beer too of course there is plus you can't miss the joust the quintessential renfair activity all of this plus more today on this happy place [Music] huzza up we are at the Renaissance Festival for the first time in like so fun over five years I want to say we really really enjoy coming here tickets are $25 per person and on this weekend I made a trip to Wendy's earlier this week cuz they were a sponsor and we had buy one get one tickets which is really awesome what let's go um what do you say drink and be merry is that is that Christmas I guess I don't it's I didn't live through the Renaissance my myself so I'm real out of sorts here we're going to have a Ye Old good time I I warning you're going to hear ye old a lot cuz that is yeah yeah yeah all right uh here we go let's do this all Entrance [Applause] right my bed welcome to morning TR my friend [Music] it is immediately so Chao in the land I do love the Renaissance Festival so much it's so fun what about it what what about it brings you in the feeling I don't free sample my lady oh sure want want to grab one for the Lord here too while you're at it what' you get I got beer I also got beer yeah drawing a pretty big crowd already at 11:00 a.m. here at the Renaissance Festival yeah it's going to be a toasty one and uh going up to about 90 degrees today yeah taaye is definitely dressed for Success oh we we'll hope so I'm going to have to get one of those flower crowns I like I think so you'd look adorable yeah over the hat too yeah I love it everything I saw on the map all right let's head down watch The Rocks behind you thanks this is definitely one of the problems associated with hosting a Renaissance Festival in Pittsburgh weathers this much Terrain we are uh it's a it's uh it's iffy a little little steep but in the best way yeah not a flip-flop kind of Festival [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] what' you get beer I got a beer sudden you give me a dollar now you get to hear it Dam I assume that's what the T was for no really but I'm just bored but here we go than there you go I call that song ice cream truck everything you playing this thing sounds like a freaking ice I picked the wrong musical instrument I think it's perfect I don't know they said learn how to play an instrument you'll get laate I chose this I'm yeah honestly if I let you do a practice hang it would only hurt you longer anyway you're going to waste energy trust me I've see people do it they'll hang there and then they'll try directly after that and they'll do a worst [Applause] time okay what's the longest time someone has hung I've had winners yeah yeah usually one or two a day okay sometimes only one or two a weekend okay I didn't get anybody yesterday I had kids kids won but they don't win money actually yeah that's really a good you know just because you stay far away from me doesn't mean I can't see you I've never been here before I nope that's all there is a that's it what happened tried to move my thumbs well the crowd says why n Food why because if there's one thing the ladies Taylor you can get sausage sausage on a stick sausage and rice you can get baked potatoes or beer this really is like I feel like this is exactly what people were eating yeah just kidding was probably a lot of porridge based [Applause] [Music] grains it wouldn't be a this happy place Vlog unless Taylor managed to find a margarita somewhere hell yeah lo and behold also Scotch eggs and carb cakes o I'm here for that they beef stew here too oh great it's only 90° yeah it's pretty hot beef stew is exactly I want right now let's go get some food and drinks okay got my margarita it's already starting to melt on the bottom it's it got very hot it's good wonderful El crab cakes Ye Old crab cakes Ye Old crab cakes a scotch egg which I love and haven't been able to eat since uh until I got my gallbladder removed and now I can eat it without making me sick and Jakob Beats toew I got beef stew cuz I'm a psychopath beef stew and a bread bull you're going to eat we'll tell you how it is yeah it's hot it's really hot it's not a true this happy place video unless we complain about the Heat and how sweaty we are I'm better now since we sat in the shade I'm just drinking liquid Margarita at this point yeah that melted real F food was fine hly the Scotch egg was excellent yeah it was great crab cakes were more cake than crab but like we live in Pittsburgh what do you expect and Jake's soup was mostly Bowl yeah it was a lot of bread but yeah good I recommend it yeah I mean as far as like fair food goes it's uh it's no fried Twinkie on a stick but it'll do yeah it's pretty good so we're going to go see what else we can find and um onto on I don't know what's happening can find a lot here you can really see a lot I just watched an actual human Fox Run on all fours and I couldn't tell if they were just someone visiting or if they like oh they don't they don't belong here okay all right cool okay you know what Why We Love the RenFaire you know what I like about the Renaissance Festival what's that all of these people have a very unique hobby specifically like the the first musicians we saw so unique right playing this and that's cool that like it got I got a little emotional watching it cuz I was like they clearly love what they're doing yeah and they they found it and that's great and I really like that this so cool good talk tight excellent here you want to see a bird yep a Merlin Falcon B one you didn't see that [Applause] one yeah get want more things to say and yeah Ash is our red tail pop are you thirsty too you thirsty too I guess we go see the wenches at Washer Well Wenches this point I think they started like 4 minutes ago so I think we can go just see ourselves in good clean fun wet dirty women who would complain they got quite the crowd oh yeah they're a real crowd pleaser they are working for you now guys that is a line that I always say but in his case I really feel like it's true right like they are tight this is a yeah you could do this okay but toption number two yes our personal favorite you could stand here you can look that woman in the eyes awkwardly yes and aggressively please and take those off real slow [Applause] about work it [Applause] mother's milk [Applause] everybody should I Throwing Knives Crow old which do you think has the most points points yeah no the most like spiky the highest likelihood of sticking well I kind of want to throw kniv okay is that cool uh it's way cooler than throwing stars or should I throw an axe cuz I've done that before throw knives throw knives I'm intrigued okay I can't wait to watch them all bounce off the was fun was uh I think the trial of skill or whatever they call it is kind of the the warmer to the day you know there's two other shows after this right no there's one there's 2:30 and then so the the battle to the death is this evening which we're definitely not going to still be here for but this is one of those things that like even though I've seen this particular show as many times have come to the Renaissance Festival like it's fun I know I like it's it's so horribly like done stage everything but I'm still like who's going to win I know it's fun it's a good time I love it yeah I love horses though yeah that's really why tase here I'm here I'm Bloodshed change the shape of it last is a very poor conductor rep heat which allows us to different sections to work on them I want to get this ready so that we can add our decorative elements [Music] I think we are going to call it from our Outro day at the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival what a good gosh darn time I absolutely love coming here I'm sad we've missed it for the past 5 years if you're watching this video the day or the week following it coming out there are four more weekends left here at the Pittsburgh Renaissance festival and the themes for those weekends are the 7th and e8th Mead and whiskey the 14th and 15 Pirate Invasion the 21st and 22nd wine rry and romance and the 28th and 29th which is the final weekend is the final huzzah October Fest and it is our goal in future years to come to that particular weekend cuz we've heard it's the best time that is going to get ridiculous so maybe next year we'll come to the October Fest weekend I'll get myself a new deer andle and you can wear your later hose in yes ma'am but we hope you've enjoyed this video I know we've enjoyed making it stay tuned we have a I discovered there was a rule here you can only carry as many drinks as you have hands for so you cannot come and order three drinks there's a bug in yours great oh wait before you hang can I have
