you can't ignore it it's here it's here to stay I mean it's not you know it's not changing so to sit and complain about it and say well you know bellyache and all you're doing is wasting time that you've got to be proactive in in how you're going to handle it so you we we were able to roll out uh an nio program here you know yesterday it was in the works uh kind of finalized everything at the end of the week last week and uh you know when you look at that it ties directly into the transfer portal uh for a couple of reasons you know everyone thinks that it's about going out and acquiring new guys and finding new guys or the the Quick Fix in the transfer portal but you know here at Georgia Tech we took a total you know kind of the opposite approach and you know the most important people in your program are the people that are already here and we have to make sure with those uh with the the nil and the different resources we have uh to help us in those things we we have to take care of the kids that are on the team currently and that's the approach I took and that's what that's what I want to do is make sure the guys on our team that that have already put into this program and have buy-in that they're they're the ones taking care of first so you're really recruiting your own roster and building those relationships and showing showing the showing how many people are behind them and what resources are being put behind them that's the first approach is you have to make sure you take care of the guys on your team and then decide which ones you know continue to make you better moving forward and which ones that you can allow to you know make it make the best decision for themselves so once you solidify your current roster then you go out and you start looking at the acquisition of of different players and whether that be high school players whether that be uh transfers you've got to make sure that you have a good balance in that because when you're building a program you're not you know everyone wants to look at the next 10 months but you really have to build it in terms of the next 10 years and uh and to do that you've got to find the right mix of transfers homegrown developed kids in the program high school kids uh otherwise you're gonna it's gonna be a you're trying to quickly fix it and it's going to happen every year you're just going to be having to reload it every single season
