T what was your favorite Disney movie growing up my favorite Disney movie well pocah Hondas was big for me just because you know uh uh um uh uh and um uh The Princess and the Frog mm that right yep it's been a while uhhuh um yeah those two yeah yeah what about you um my favorites were frozen I used to watch Frozen on repeat repeat every day yeah um I had Frozen heels I had Frozen microphones everything but also it's funny because Ariel was my second favorite Disney princess of all time I loved her beautiful hair I loved um her the the mermaid aspect and her beautiful tail um and all that she represented it was really a a a full circle moment coming into this character you know Tay has an into frozen right probably yeah y y did your son have a favorite uh Disney movie growing up we saw them all um obviously well not obviously Frozen he got sick of pretty quickly did he you can imagine um one of the big cuz we still watch him we still watch him and he he now he uh he just now is realizing how um a lot of uh the the Brilliance of Disney they'll make story lines accessible to the children and the adults alike so that that adults don't get sick I'm so excited for this I was saying before my kids have been seeing the commercials for Ariel like non-stop when they're watching Disney in the morning so we're very excited so tell me how we are kind of reimagining Ariel I know we're kind of going back to the beginning so tell me all about it uh I really love this new uh type of version of Disney D of Ariel um because we get to see Ariel younger than we've ever seen her before we get to keep a deeper dive into her life who she was friends with she makes friends um and yeah all all together we get to take a deeper dive into um her daily life and it's not this event that happens like we see in feature films it's really how she lives um and who she was uh I feel like that's a really really great type of New Vision into her life definitely Tay how did you approach King Triton um with excitement as you can imagine you know being a part of the Disney family for both of us has been uh you know uh a wonderful experience but we're making history it's a completely multi uh ethnic cast we've got brand new music with a very strong Caribbean background and uh and like a little mama said these are uh very um understandable and um palatable kind of situations that you find uh this mother daughter uh excuse me father daughter relationship uh people can actually kind of uh uh use them as opposed to the larger than life situations you you find on on the big screen definitely you know these are characters that people have grown up with that people still go back and revisit time and time again do you feel pressure at all taking on these roles that are such iconic characters or are you excited to kind of put your own twist on it I feel like it's a little bit of both right like there's a pressure coming into this incredible role who like all these amazing people have played aiel and it's kind of a pressure kind of uh you know being up there and having to take on that uh character as well but I feel like as you said I can also put my own type of spin on it because Ariel like I said has never been shown this young and it's kind of like I like to think of it as a new a brand new um look into Ariel and I get to put my own type of um you know spin on things while keeping it the you know iconic aiel that we all know and love definitely okay how about absolutely yeah Disney very rarely you know they they know how to do it so they they changed it just enough where we could feel like we're doing our thing but uh you know they they're obviously not going to mess with something that's been doing so well for so many years um yeah it's uh I think we're both just really really honored and uh and excited
