all right college football is back which means Stevenson Sylvester is back at the KSL Studios let's go all right Utah we finally got to see him on tape uh we knew the defense would Dominate and that's what they did they blink Southern Utah but I think what fans were really curious about slly what does this team have on offense what's cam going to look like is brand really back and what are some of these new weapons that they have to add to what they already have with what Cam and Brandt bring I think what's it easier is what don't Utah offense have right now we saw a little bit a small snippet of it on Thursday night these guys are electric they were all over the place and we found John Stanley a guy that we haven't been talking about mostly this offseason we've been worried about all the newcomers and Dorian singer and Caleb loner and Landon King and and and djon Stanley stole the show on Thursday this guy's speed is absolutely insane what he looks like in person you can't catch that you can't teach Pon so it's absolutely awesome but the plethora of weapons on this offense is what makes them unique and what's going to make them the difference uh this season each and every week it could be a different person what I love so much is is is who are you going to pay attention to is it going to be money Parks is it going to be Dorian singer is it going to be Caleb loner who's 69ine who visually will take you away but no the 62 guy is actually the most dangerous guy on the field at the moment who you leave and so that's what's going to happen on multiple plays this season is uh multiple guys are going to have one-on-one matchups and you have to win your one-on-one matchups so it's all about about cam Rising finding that right guy pre- snap to do it are you going to feed all those guys that's what I want to know that's going to be the biggest problem they have it is going to be a problem but you know one thing that stood out on Thursday night that cam has to do even with all those great targets he's got to be able to recognize those defenses and read them well to get the ball to those right right right and and and just as important it is to have all those weapons you got to have a guy who can deliver the football and we got cam Rising back and he's been in the program for a couple decades now so uh he knows this offense really well but what I love about cam Rising is this is a great vertical contact this is three verticals here so you got verticals in each sector of the field here so cam all he has to do is see which what's the safety's going to do on here here this guy turns out that way this guy's flat footed and that guy turns out that way that's going to leave this void here in the middle so he understands that pre- snap as soon as it is now he notices that you got to drop the ball right in there to Mel Michael Pitman I know this was an incomplete pass but you can see this this is the first game of the year they're going to connect on this later on in the season but that again is another play that's going to come open more often than not are you going to throw it to the outside guy are you going to throw it to the inside guy cam Rising on that three vertical uh stretch in the defense is making it real easy for him because he's like I got to pay attention to what one guy what does this safety do does he take the inside guy or does he take the outside guy and then I throw it to the opposite really click quick slide before they take on a power four opponent on Saturday and Baylor at home anything you're concerned about any weakness you saw on on Thursday no I absolutely the defense was electric so I I can't wait to see them against a power four team it sounds weird saying power for right right new world right but I I can't wait to see our defense put up we had five sacks only allowed 150 yards defense was absolutely awesome given this offense more opportunities to score it's going to be just like 2021 it was absolutely terrific the way our defense performed gave Cham Rising the ball multiple times I think this offense can be a 44 plus Point offense per game wow right we were doing that uh a couple years ago I think we can get back to that we got experience even the new guys are veterans they're upper classman it's absolutely awesome so I can't wait to see what they're able to do against Power for thanks Sly great start to the season We'll add the NFL to the mix do it next Sunday
