TO KIND OF PAINT A BIGGER PICTURE OF THE DAMAGE THAT HAS BEEN DONE THANKS TO THIS STORM SYSTEM. NOW I'M GOING TO TOSS IT OVER TO BILL KELLER. BILL, I KNOW YOU KIND OF DEALT WITH THAT ROUND TWO OF THE STORM VERY EARLY THIS MORNING. WHAT ARE YOU SEEING WHERE YOU ARE? WELL SAY, ASIDE FROM THE TWO HEAVY ROUNDS OF RAIN, THE BIGGEST IMPACT HAS REALLY BEEN THE LIGHTNING AND THE STRONG WIND KNOCKING POWER OUT TO THOUSANDS OF HOMES AND BUSINESSES. IN FACT, RIGHT NOW, XCEL ENERGY IS DEALING WITH A GROWING NUMBER OF POWER OUTAGES. THE UTILITY REPORTING ALMOST 157,000 CUSTOMERS WHO ARE WITHOUT ELECTRICITY. THE COMPANY SAYS THE CREWS ARE BUSY WORKING TO RESTORE POWER TO THE NUMBER OF AREAS ACROSS THE METRO THAT HAVE BEEN IMPACTED BY LAST NIGHT'S STORM. NOW THAT SEVERE LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS MOVED ACROSS THE AREA JUST ABOUT 630 LAST NIGHT, ONE AREA HIT ESPECIALLY HARD WAS WESTERN CARVER COUNTY. IN FACT, YOU CAN SEE HERE THOSE TREES REALLY NO MATCH. THEY WERE TOSSED AROUND 60 70FT TALL AND THIS MORNING A LOT OF HOMEOWNERS IN DOWNTOWN WACONIA, THEY WILL BE BUSY CLEANING UP THE STREETS FILLED WITH LEAVES, BRANCHES AND THERE WERE NO MATCH FOR YESTERDAY'S STRONG WINDS GETTING REALLY DARK IN THE WEST AND SO THE WIFE AND I WERE LOOKING OUT THE WEST SIDE, AND THEN OUR NEIGHBORS BRANCH CAME DOWN ON ONE OF THEIR TREES AND WE'RE LIKE, OH MAN, YOU KNOW? AND IT WAS JUST WINDY AND RAINING HARD. AND THEN WE CAME ONTO THIS SIDE AND SHE'S LIKE, OUR TREE IS GONE. AND IT WAS LIKE, OH MY GOSH. YEAH. ALONG WITH WIND GUSTS TOPPING 70MPH, THAT STORM ALSO BROUGHT A TORRENTIAL DOWNPOUR. THE RAIN FALLING AT RATES AT TIMES THREE INCHES AN HOUR. IN FACT, SOME REPORTING MORE THAN AN INCH OF RAIN IN LESS THAN 30 MINUTES. IN FACT, ONE THING TO BE AWARE OF AS YOU DRIVE AROUND, YOU SEE THESE DOWNED TREES. YOU SEE BRANCHES WILL BE AWARE OF. THOSE COULD ALSO BE TANGLED UP IN SOME POWER LINES THAT ARE DOWN. WE SAW SEVERAL SPOTS THAT WERE CONED OFF BECAUSE THERE WERE ELECTRICAL LINES ACROSS THE ROAD. AND OF COURSE, WE DON'T KNOW WHETHER THOSE ARE LIVE OR NOT, JUST BECAUSE THE HOMES HAVE NO POWER. CERTAINLY A CAUSE AND EFFECT THERE. BACK TO YOU GUYS. YEAH, NO QUESTION ABOUT IT. AND IT WAS THE DOUBLE WHAMMY IN A COUPLE OF SENSES FOR THOSE FOLKS. CERTAINLY. ALL RIGHT, BILL, THANKS SO MUCH. BILL KELLER. LIVE FOR US THIS MORNING. YEAH A LOT OF CLEANUP THAT WILL BE HAPPENING ALL DAY LONG. AND WE'LL BE TALKING ABOUT OUR WEATHER HERE. MORE OF IT IN JUST A
