it's very fitting for Tim he loves like a prom queen with like an axe in her bath Beetle Juice question tried bringing Jesus you could raise all the [Music] dead Jenna and Winona this is a casting it just makes sense it makes sense on so many levels um when did you guys know that you had something special together on set because despite that differences they can [Laughter] you yeah because despite their differences they can be very beautiful mirrors of one another so yeah it was the model day it was the model day yeah we just it was just the first opportunity we really had to talk it felt like everything else had just been oh it'll be so great I I know I know it was yeah yeah aside from the school we hadn't shot anything yeah we hadn't that that yeah was that first it was only the arguing outside the school that we had done yeah so it was pretty pretty quickly on we did have a nice time at at Tim's though the first time we we met at Tim's after we had read the script and we found out that it was amazing and what was it like kind of cuz I know Tim sets are so practical seeing the model again for the first time oh i i s I cried I was was so emotional through this whole yeah you and Tim both in that attic I know and I was was like there's a shot where you see a shadow remember I got like really obsessed with the Shadow from the first there's like a a shot of me in the first one and I remember like one of the cocko twins like said mentioned it in interviews and I was like why what is it about the shadow it's I like turn and it's like a little bulb like makes a shadow like it looks like a black tear oh and I was like so I was like we have to recreate that shot did you and we did but you you only see it at the end credits oh wow look for I I had no idea obviously it's been 36 years a long time and I know that it's kind of been on and off for a while and Tim felt very protective over this film and these characters so what about this version and this script excited you the much it's exactly like the first one but not yes and and and I tell everyone this I I I love the first one love love love this is actually better yeah I came out the same way I was I had I mean I love the first one that is pure Nostalgia for me but um it's really it's something special yeah it's hard to make a sequel it is yeah take you back do you remember the first time you watched the movie I do I do could you have imagined being in the sequel no no I could uh no of course not cuz it felt like so specific uh sequel didn't make sense at the time you know Tim's really the guy got to talk about it but yeah he he was really energized and uh he was uh this wasn't just a return to material this was uh visiting something he loves further down the line that's all I think it's very um you know kind of sincere attempt to uh revisit that material well 36 years he wanted to get it right he wanted to get it's true it's true it's a huge cast to join uh how did it feel St on set that first day along with Jenner as well I mean one of the first things we shot together was him blowing his guts all over me um so that was your first day at work dear Mom Hollywood's great um uh things are going well some guy barfed on me and then he kicked a baby into my face um no it was it was fabulous you know I mean I've said this before but Tim creates probably 98% of the world already before you even land on set so um and then watching these guys go off like fireworks is brings you to 99.5 and so then I just bring five5 um and so it was intimidating but at the same time completely exhilarating you know sort of the run up to getting to set was sort of the click click click up the roller coaster and then the rest was just yeah you're both fighting to be when owner's husband in the mov she likes me more a bit okay we got some fine going on um cuz I was going to say who do you think is more husband material if you had to juice question Rory is not husband material to anybody she'll tell you she secretly wants to marry red flag yeah true yeah I mean you ladies you've been in some incredible roles throughout your career might I say and if you could pick one previous character to come into the Beetle Juice world for a day who would you love to see o good question that's a pretty good question oh wow oh tried bringing Jesus into be just world he could raise all the dead that's a movie that's three I'm here right someone pitch that please I want to see that God Batman I would I would want to bring Batman into this world somehow I think it would work I don't know how but it would be maybe if Batman got killed and he's in the just have him as a severed torso or Robin well he's a little he's a little he's a little uh um bruised yeah Bruce bruised and he I don't think he'd Flinch I think he'd come in and go cool I think he'd fit right in there yeah any of the any of the characters from multiplicity would struggle yeah yeah yeah oh I know number four I know the really sensitive guy in in multiplicity okay yeah I'd love to see him in the be juice world he tried to reason with him and Bice would not be having any of it' be give him a lot of psycho Babble hey let's talk I did a sketch comedy show years ago and I did this kind of Vegas performance she goes mind like the afterlife she finally fit in somewhere God Michael said Batman did he really isn't that great I see that I see that I would say also your character in The Taste music video she would not be having any of it she'd be [Applause] like no but that well because that was inspired by death becomer that actually would it's very fitting for Tim he loves like a prom queen with like an ax in her B something like that that would be a good one yeah the film references in that music video yeah we were we had a good time on that one uh maybe Sheamus o Grady from Charlie's Angels too that could be kind of good I think they're sort of in a similar cartoony kind of I see that I see that I'd like to see them go up against each other is there a cinematic world that each of your coastar has been in that you would love to go inside oh well I mean what what would I know not I mean yeah Best in Show bestek waiting Wai for you actually want to live in those worlds yeah I would have I would have you guys are hilarious that would make it incredible I know I we were making the the alien movie The Ali when that came out and you drove every night to to Santa Monica just watch it and we it like the the whole cast and we all and we were like is this a comedy or a tragedy ises anyone is done regional theater yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah it's I love that you say our lives cuz so many people would say oh I know people like that that's it but not you not you you don't want to live in that world though it's more fun to just go see the movie yeah there were brownies involved but but go was when it was like tragic that's we were like wo and then there was we couldn't breathe so beautiful period oh for the CL oh Age of Innocence met on Earth you know you know how I feel about that one C God I want to meet Corky Corky obviously Danny DeVito is in this movie and not obviously I mean obvious obviously well to me it was very obvious um I love him what was that like did you get spend I didn't know he was in it you didn't know no no no see like I don't see a lot of these guys and then when I so I get to see it as a viewer you know I shoot certain things and I didn't know what a lot of these guys were doing so it's a treat I'm going oh man that's great so I I saw the back of him and I went kind of looks like deito and I go oh my God this is great so I didn't know he had done it oh well Catherine you've been known to be part of some very iconic families in your career what is it about these kind of oddb dynamic families that you're like really drawn to I love being in a happy creative gang yeah yeah it's just group scenes any scenes group seeds groups together I love doing interviews together yesterday when we were all together for that panel it's just fun I don't know I'm not afraid to be alone I love to be alone but there's it's just so great to feed off of each other you know creatively and and mothers are very important roles in life yeah you know can be so sadly bad or so wonderful and inspiring so you know there's a never- ending wealth of material there it's actually so nice to hear you say that because I I you hear so much in the industry like then you become the mom like you know no there are a lot of boring mons and and uh I I went through that and and but there actually like just they're characters just like all the other characters but you're so like you're no but they should be written more interestingly I think sorry they're written by a lot of guys who didn't pay attention to their moms or or idolized their moms or idolized their moms and couldn't see their flaws to make them you know more interesting characters so they oh honey you look wonderful or where are you going now yeah they're just in the in the FED with their slippers wake up you can't like I mean but you get so like oh that's that's what the that's how it works and then you're the mom and then who then your baby Jane and then your yeah Wills of August you know you you two escaped is the friend of the lead oh oh when you're in comedy before you get to be the mom you get the friend of the lead like you're looking good what's his [Music] name help me but I mean that's what I love about Tim's world and Tim's World building so much is um I think especially for people who maybe felt strange or unusual growing up they could feel so seen and really connect with these characters so I'd love to know what it means to you guys to be a part of Worlds like this who are filled with so much detail and care for every character it's so beautiful it's it's such a beautiful thing to be a part of and it's it's you really feel Pro Tim's really protective of his characters yeah I mean from Wednesday it's like you know I mean I remember him talking about it and how you know and you know Lydia and deal like he's just really really um but you you you just feel he he's really protective and he really loves you know he really loves his characters and you can feel it so it's really special he cares for I'm sorry he cares for people who feel that way yeah it's pretty much everyone if you don't feel that way something's wrong with you he's so collaborative so trusting and um he definitely uh I mean there's very rare that there was a day on this set or there's even been a day on on Wednesday when I'm with him where you know I don't want to forget whatever conversation we had that day about the way we were going to shoot something or the conversations that we have it just you could tell as you're doing it it's very special he's very special so often he's dealing with you know uh death and people that are Outsiders and people that are misunderstood lots of things that give people a lot of pain but he does it in such a compassionate and joyous and kind of playful way that that's part of the attraction of his his films and his aesthetic like nobody gets a pass on this everybody kind of gets made fun of a little bit and on that I think Tim's well building I think you know for people growing up who maybe felt strange or unusual clearly could feel he's like the guy that Drew these things you know these beautiful little drawings you know and he lived in that world and then that world blossomed and uh now it is a world one of the roles that you played Green Goblin terrified Me growing up okay horrified me all right sorry I forgive you I forgive there was a pleasure to that right there was a pleasure I loves the movies um but was there a character who terrified you growing up I remember uh when I when I saw when I was a kid I think it was a movie called Carnival of Souls or something that was so scary that you know my sister said one of my sisters said you've got to watch it in a mirror because you can't let because it was too direct to watch it you know oh God okay directly should I add it to my watch list St I think it's called Carnival of Souls but then also yeah there when I when I was a kid I watched a lot of horror movies
