and we are back Brian brers I'm positive I'm positive that you're doing all right I'm doing fine too I got football on the screen up there but we ain't looking at that that's just two a tonga being being worse than Dak Prescott don't worry about it over here we got some film people don't like when I look this way Brian but it is what it is I'm G be looking over here to pull some film up I'm doing all right I hope everybody in the comments in the chat is doing all right uh this is part two Brian BRS we are breaking down the um Saints defense today yesterday we had some positive things said by the Saints offense if y'all want to go see that show it is on the YouTube y'all go check it out um took a look at the Saints defense Brian let me let me let me just ask you this man last week we were pretty much um on the same page sympatico that the Browns defense was much better than the Browns offense now here with the Saints Brian BRS we have an idea of what the Saints offense is do you feel like if the Saints are going to win this game versus the Dallas Cowboys they'd be better off leaning on their offense or their defense they're gonna need to lean on that offense yeah yeah they're gonna have to find a way to uh they're gonna have to find a way to control the game with Alvin Kamar quarterback's not GNA have to make any mistakes Chris maybe an opportunity here and there we'll see what happens with uh marrow playing at tight end because that seems to be a new found thing for them yeah Tamm Hill maybe on some short yardage stuff you know but it's going to be about the quarterback it's gonna be about Kamar it's gonna be about Kenna you know and the the rookie left tackle faga showed up on the injury report today with the back you know that's got to be a little bit of concerning thing for the Saints see what he practices tomorrow doesn't like the their left guards in very good spot either so yeah they're but they're going to have to lean on um I I'm interested to hear what you have to say about the defense because my thought is you might not see the same thing you saw against Carolina that Dak Prescott's gonna see at noon at AT&T Stadium defensive wise scheme wise so when I turn it on Carolina yeah the first thing I noticed was uh Chase young wasn't out there Granderson and U and Cam Jordan were out there for like right 10 plays 11 plays 12 play and then Chase young was there and he just played like a whole bunch after that right I'm like all right cool um I'll just give you a rundown on what I saw we'll just go yeah no go ahead please um I think out of their D lineman Chase young is probably their most the he's probably the the best pass rusher there um I was was excited to look at Cam Jordan cuz cam Jordan's always been good his whole life Cam Jordan looks old now um and Granderson just doesn't look good sometimes Brian what they'll do is they'll put Chase Young on one side they'll put Cam and gron on the other side and I guess that that tries to generate something but it just doesn't so granison ends up in that wide n he he does a bunch of that and cam ends up in this four ey looking look and that's just how they run it but it wasn't inspiring Chase young is the only one that really inspired any type of worry from me uh Peyton Turner former Houston um University of Houston player first round pick yeah first round pick he ain't turn he ain't turn out the way I thought it was gonna turn out Brian bres I don't I don't get a lot of fear from him Brian Brey first round pick Clemson he had a bunch of injuries a lot of personal stuff going on when he got drafted but I ain't see much out of Brian breey so what that just led me to believe is that your guards and your Center probably going to have a fun little day you should probably try to run the football right in that range a little bit um but the edges weren't too too too too crazy neither so I feel like you'll be fine with those guys um and cam Jordan's probably going to be on terence's side and uh Chase will move around sometimes but he'll probably be over there with um with giden for the most part um I was looking for the pass rush Brian but the best pass rush that they got was from the nickel number one they would they would Blitz him a lot and he he was yeah Tor he was the one that got all the sex Brian um funny enough they pulled out a rotation for the inter ior guys and one of their backups 93 got into the game and I feel like 93 was been in all of them I feel like 93 got there just started Bea hell out of people say hey where you been but then they pulled him right back out the game and then they had the problems I think um Davis the linebacker 55 I think he he runs around really good he's really active um I didn't pay attention too much to Tyron Matthew because he's out I didn't pay too much uh too much attention to marshan Latimore because he's out we're going to be dealing with Paulson adbo and Kool-Aid mckinstry and um I feel like I just saw a mix of their coverages or whatnot but maybe to your point when they play against the Cowboys they'll do something totally different and just focus on one thing um but I think the Cowboys being at home we're indoors we're just better in general I don't think they can generate a bunch of pass rush I don't think they have anybody that's going to challenge the worst of our offensive linemen and that's our young left tackle and our not very powerful right tackle I don't see any stress coming from our tackles I think our guards are going to be dominant we may be able to run the football but I think the Cowboys are going to get it done ridiculously through the air um so yeah that's what I got for the Saints defense did they already list they didn't they didn't list Latimore out already did they it's a brand new hamstring and I can go look for you but uh no I I saw the injury report today and I saw a dnp and I thought you know like okay if he's dnp in on Thursday there's a pretty good opportunity that you won't see him so you're right about mcky and him and you know he's uh yeah look at their injury report that's what you got there so uh so as far as dmps uh fuaga we don't care about Jackson uh Latimore did not practice kayin Saunders who is one of their uh tackles or whatnot he he didn't practice so uh Tyron Matthew is limited so if he's limited that's more likely to to um we're more we're more likely to see him um there's Patrick their their guard there and some of these other guys they were listed as full uh so right so yeah the one the one you need to concern yourself with I think is is Latimore you and and I was curious if CD lamb and Latimore had ever played against each other and they did and uh the last time they did was 20121 and I think they got this right there was there was three targets one catch one interception for Latimore and then CD just wreck shop on all the other Saints secondary players sure vlore was a little bit of a little bit I think there were 37 coverage snaps I think he had him for five of those yeah so yeah it's you know there was an interception it was and lamb only had one catch so yeah it's you know that's ladimore is their in my opinion their best corner sure and so if he's out that makes things a lot easier because Mistry is mcky I think is a good player I just you know he's a rookie right now yeah you know and that's and that's what you're going to deal with Taylor the slot as you mention is it's amazing and I I don't know if this is who the Saints are saints were 28th in Sachs last year I don't know if this is Dennis Allen's way of saying we're playing against a quarterback at Carolina Bryce young that's young he can't read he can't see he's not going to react to the blitz very well yeah and and all of a sudden you started to see slot Blitz you started to see linebacker Blitz you started to see and I I was just curious I mean because I'm seeing all these different blitzes and I'm seeing you know I'm like man they are taking some chances here because all of a sudden you get Taylor's in the slot and you know he's he's creeping creeping creeping and you know th is in the slot and th's got nobody over him but what happened Young Moves the back over from the left to the right yeah so now they're getting a blitz and then you've got Davis the linebacker trying to carry Thelen from the slot I mean he's as a inside linebacker inside linebacker and then Thelen I believe is just running a vertical route and he's like what the hell there's nobody you know and then and then Taylor gets the sack coming off but it was strange how Bryce moves moves the back from his left to his right the back ends up not blocking anybody yeah it just a it was just a straight like what the hell but you see I mean it was like a gambling you know we're going to get home before you get rid of the ball and and I was like man that is some that's that's a defense you play when you have confidence that the quarterback you're playing is not very good let me see yeah so you can make make it a big screen for me there there you go okay here it is okay I think this is yeah look at this right here right look at look at the bottom right there stop if you could right there look at that look at look at what look what happened right there you got no you got you got like a twins look to the to the left and and look at the linebacker that's dve is trying to carry carry a guy from the I believe that's steing from the slot let me see let me see okay they move the back over and now look at here comes the blitz off I thought it was Taylor I think it is Sim still yep that's him is him yeah that's him he walked up like it's kind of like it's kind of like young never saw him and and and you're almost thinking well Taylor's the nickel and if we could throw the sideline shot I know it's probably hard to do there I'm sorry I don't mean to be that guy but if you could get the sideline shot I mean it it's it's crazy maybe it's the next one we're dealing with here the next play but but it's crazy to think that they're gonna say all right yeah here we go move the back stop it right there who the hell has the first inside guy it's the guy nobody nobody does yeah I mean you think you think that you think that Dennis Allen's gonna do this to to D to Dak Prescott I mean they move the back for protection okay the Blitzer coming from his left so they're going to move him over okay you stand there there's nobody covering the number one inside and watch it's a linebacker stop it right there oh man I mean it's over the top you got I mean you got a linebacker running but look at the depth of the safety look at the depth of the safety that's a lot of space right here just right exactly yeah exactly yeah I mean they they are betting they are betting that that that ball is not going to get off and they and it was right they were right about it so I I I went back I looked at something I L just looked at some metrics that you know I'm like man this is looks funny with all the blitzes yeah and and this is a note I got the Saints had five off ball players five off ball players that generated a pressure in this game the Saints sent 12 different players who did not play Edge or defensive tackle on blitzes eight pressures on 14 blitzes think about that yeah it was 14 or 12 different on 14 blitzes and I was thinking okay this is a team that's either a thinks his quarterback can't handle it which it didn't look like he did sure or B they were the 28th best pass rush team I wouldn't call it the best they were 28th in the League last year in sacks yeah and they have to do this in order to get pressure that's the answer that's the that's that's the that's the biggest that's the biggest takeaway here they're not getting pressure with four guys right they're not g to get press they they don't have a m young I think Young could get young had six pressures which was double what anybody else had on that defensive line yeah yeah they they they're not going to get pressure with just four guys and and and Chase is not Chase is not miles Garrett or anything like that so yeah you may be blitzing Bryce young because he's Young quarterback but you might be blizz cuz man what else are you going to do like where else is your pass rush coming from and I don't think you to your point I don't you cannot do that with Dak Prescott can't do that you can't do because as soon as you do it Brandon Cook's gonna find the back of that damn his Zone it's gonna be another one just like just like last week yeah I just you know it's amazing to me and and this is when you watch tape and there's such a small sample size of the season so far MH in your mind you're thinking there's no way in hell they're going to do this toap sure and but then again you're thinking well if they Rush forward they might not get pressure I mean they might not get pressure and now to me I've always been one of these guys on defense give me the quick death don't I don't don't don't drag it out on me you know don't like if if I'm gonna gamble I'm gonna gamble that I'm gonna get my guy home before you even react that's that but Dak I mean maybe you get attack one time but you're not going to get him four five six times that ain't going to happen no way but this might be this might be this might be Dennis Allen's way of saying you know what I I'm gonna confuse a rookie or a seconde quarterback sure but if they you know they they they play a lot of they they play a lot of press coverage outside um they've done it the last couple years I mean that's something they and I I think the the Press coverage they played is they just don't respect they didn't respect Carolina's receivers sure but but it also worked out for them because I went back and looked this up because I'm thinking man they're playing a lot of press and I was wondering if there's any metrics to this Carolina had five five completions against press coverage five for the whole game wow so Dallas you know press Scott these receivers how much press you going to play if if you don't get pass rush and you don't play man or you don't you know I mean I think their plan could very well be you let's make Dallas Drive the ball let's make Dallas try and just drive the ball here and see if they can do it and not make a mistake but I I don't know this is one of those games going in I'm not really sure how the Saints are going to play you but if they play you like they played Carolina they can give up some big play they can give up some big plays here I hope they got a plan Brian BR you know what I mean and and you know when you when you first mentioned it right you was like Hey do you think they're going to play them the same way you know the first thing that just kind of popped popped up in my mind is that you know this does happen a lot like what we'll see somebody else do to another team they never do it to us cuz we're just totally different never never yeah but but just the idea there's no way especially if you got lamb playing slot mostly there's no way you're just going to give him a whole bunch of space to catch the ball quickly and just go and make a yak play or something like that there's no way you going there's no way you're going to you know bring eight guys and only drop back three or four guys in coverage and Brandon Cooks his speed and all this kind of stuff it it's just I think this is going to be a big day for the Run game Bri Bros I think that the Saints are are probably going to play you a little more a little more timid in coverage there's no way that that they just going to press you Kool-Aid and Paulson ar ar aren't going to press you all day they're they're going to have to mix it up and I think you could easily move the the the middle of this defense or whatever I think this is a great day to try to get your run game back going yeah I I I like what you're talking about there I will say this though about you mentioned about Tyron Matthew and one of the greatest LSU players ever yeah so I love the kid but he's to the point now at playing safy sure there's he if he's in the game what you have to worry about with him he has a feel for how to create turnovers sure he has a feel for your running you're you've now got an 18 yard gain it's a rally tackle here they come and he punches the ball loose yeah and now everybody's scrambling on the deck and he you know in their ball and you know you've had it it's kind of like when you were watching you know Stevens in that preseason game where he's you know he gets a makes a nice catch he's up the field ball comes loose this is the kind of stuff you got to watch with Tyron Matthew because he's not the player he once was but he's so good at when he gets in these piles and these scrums of punching the ball I mean every time it's a tackle with him it's a punch ball out situation that's what he does now watch right here you're going to show us yeah watch this watch him come up there knock the ball loose yeah that's what he does that's what this guy does I mean he he he's got such he's got a nose for the ball he's coming from the inside boom just knock the ball loose you know that's what he does so you know it's you got to be aware of him and where he is on this thing I I kind of feel like that the the the the nickel you know that you know that might be the spot if I put because to me you know it's it just it's so much space for lamb to be able to you know it's so much space for lamb to be able to work I mean that's what you want that's what you want with lamb you the Slants and the stuff I mean Dak you know they're talking about timing and getting that back on but put him put him in the slot yeah and let him just work and just let him get back to running routes and not having to worry about running Slants and stuff like that because they the they're just you know they're not the Saints aren't very good at nickel they're just not a good they just don't have a really you know good nickel player yeah and so to me I'm kind of thinking like okay let's look at some matchups let's but to your point about running the ball you know Pete Warner one of the linebackers Demario Davis Demario Davis has been a good player for a long time but you know it looks like to me it looks like just kind of a just a just a solid group grp of linebackers nothing spectacular about these two linebackers not not like what you were playing last week Cleveland had better linebackers sure Cleveland had much better Lineback Cleveland's front seven Cleveland's overall defense was much better but you know you you're mentioned about control the middle try and run the football establish some of that be some phys show some physicality get blockers up on these linebackers I think you can have some success I think attack attacking this group I just think BB Tyler Smith and um Zack Martin are just going to have a day like Peyton Turner I don't think he did anything like the whole day like pton turn and Brian Brey brei runs sideways if anything he doesn't really threaten you with a bunch of power like th those guys are are are liable to get um you know moved around and you know to and here's another Point too you know trying to get your guards to the next level to block um you know J or whatever right that's kind of it's kind of it's kind of tough to get him cor moves so much it's a little it's a little tougher to get him I think you can block these these Saints linebackers a little easier on the yeah I I think you're I think you're right about that you know with with with Davis and and Warner I I just kind of feel like they you know they they're good players it but it's not it's not what you're were playing last week I mean last week that was a that was a hard day when it comes to you know uh you know running the football and and those kinds of things so um but I'd like to have seen him tried you know in the second half we talked about that a bunch because I think it would kind of gives you a little bit of confidence but hey it's good you know it's all good that way so Jake Ferguson and John Stevens did not practice today I think Ferguson I was told Ferguson is going to be close okay and I that but I was told that Vos I was told that yesterday yeah and with him dming today my gut would be that he's not GNA play so that means you have two the ability for two practice squad elevations okay last week was Nick viil yeah was one of the elevations was there anybody else they brought up off the practice squad or was he the only one I'm trying to remember I should have looked this up I think visual is your only one but visual but you got two you got two elevations you can make now okay uh our guy uh nean NE was limed today so we need to see tomorrow if nean can be a little bit more than limited sure tomorrow with his situation if he is but I was told not to worry about him but it's a calf how could you not worry so you know but you have two elevations could that be a Carl Lawson for nean potentially or would you just go ahead and go with wheat you know as your guy what do you think about that I think um I don't think this is a game where you got to pull out your best guns you know and U I wouldn't even I just hold on to all my elev I do think at some point V because you might have to get you might have to get um you might have to bring one of the tight ends you might have fan probably yeah yeah yeah f um or if in fact or or play with scoon maker and yeah scoon maker span Ford and lipy as your as your three guys um I think uh we were just talking about vigil I think vigil's going to end up on like the the main roster at at 53 yeah yeah yeah at at some point maybe not even maybe not this week but I do think by the end of the year he'll just be like a main roster guy when um Kendricks went out they went they went straight to visual you know they didn't go okay well let's mess around with Lile here you know we we thought Lile would be like the backup Mike guy but it was just straight up visual here so I think viil will be around at at some point but uh to your point uh I think this this would be a great time to bring up Carl Lawson and um and um f but the head coach Mike McCarthy saying stuff about dvin cook now Brian BR what what that mean what that mean when your head coach start talking about dvin cook out of nowhere I think that I think he's trying to keep dvin cook encouraged by the situation um if it gets to the point where where you get in that game against the Saints and and I think if the Saints are going to play the type of game plan where they showed it against Carolina where it's linebacker blitzes slot blitzes you better damn well have Ezekiel Elliott in there blocking for this stuff you know if they're going to do if they're going to try and attack you because they don't feel like they can Rush four get home if it's going to turn into slot Blitz linebacker Blitz safety Blitz Corner Blitz whatever you got this is this is the game for Ezekiel LA to stand in there and pick up blitzes um I think he's the best one at it yeah now all that being said do you you only have you only have three of these times where you bring guys up and down sure do you and do you wait do you wait you know and and see you know about bringing up the running back you know do you want to waste it on a on this one or do you wanna you want to bring cook up when like okay there's a three- game stretch here and man Zeke Zeke's looking like old man Zeke and he's not really you know we're I can say if they if they struggle running the ball this week then it's going to be very clear to them that well okay if then I excuse me how does it look them struggling I mean struggling struggling but how does it look is it Zeke struggling and I'm learning about all this metric stuff and you know and Eric chiafalo who I work with was telling me about expected yards you know they they evaluate how the plays blocked and there seemed like there was some expected yards that were left on the field when Elliott had the ball sure so and I'm like whoa is that something that's is something I I guess it's a metrics thing that they look at but I think if they don't run the ball well then you're going to start to hear and and maybe D's not running the ball well either then maybe it's going to be about okay let's see what dvin cooks has here or dvin cook has for three games and then if that doesn't work then it's okay is it the line or do we need to go get another guy we need to go get another guy Bri BR because I was looking at Jordan Mason and I got jealous as hell man so I'm like I'm just hey I don't I don't want to look at Georgia Tech tape huh yeah uh Bri I I think that's all we got man I think we were um pretty extensive and I don't think that um this Browns I mean this uh uh Saints defense requires a bunch of fine tooth combing you know what I mean I think yeah I just kind of feel like though to me how they're gonna play you can you deal with can you where do you attack do you attack the rookie corner do you attack the slot which uh might be a good opportunity is there going to be exotic pressure you're going to have to deal with and what's your plan for trying to run the football and you know you kind of could check off all those boxes I like what you're talking about about running the ball I'd like to see him come out and have some success doing that yeah and play that way I'd like to see them put a bunch of pressure on the Saints offense to have to score along with him now the Saints scores a lot of points last week against Carolina and but you know you're gonna have to get some stops though too along the way you know you're gonna have to get some stops because you can't let the Saints nickel and diim you you know the whole game yeah so you're gonna have to get some stops but this this game's got a good opportunity for Dallas on offense to to to run the football but also though to show a little bit more get a little more timing with between Prescott and lamb and maybe even get and maybe even get Tolbert going a little bit here too maybe getting tolberg going a little bit as well I am prepared for the Heartbreak Brian brought us that we gonna have opportun our expected run yards is going to be a little different than the than the Run yards we actually get man but we'll cross that that road when we get there we we we play the
