in the NFL literally as we are sitting here Adam sheer with news Well GRE no huge surprise here but the Browns are expected to leave Nick chub on the pup list which would make him ineligible to play the first four games of the season and it would make him eligible to return in week five if that's what the Browns want to do now they have said they're going to bring this along slowly make sure they're very careful with Nick chub and the expectation still is that he will play at some point this season but it's not going to be the first four games of the season he's going to be left on the pup list give him more time to rehab that knee injury that he suffered last season on Monday night that's the running back situation there were also some questions about the quarterback yeah listen didn't play in the preseason finale but all signs point to him being ready for opening day now let me take you back to two weeks ago Kevin stansky also said he expected that Deshawn Watson would play in the preseason finale had some shoulder soreness they decided not to play him in the preseason finale but I think the regular season opener against the Dallas Cowboys is a little bit different than the preseason finale against the Seattle seu all signs point to Deshawn Watson being out there he is expected to play on opening day so we should see Watson we won't see chub let's stay in the division we've talked about the Steelers we've talked about the Browns let's go to Cincinnati and talk about the Bengals the big questions continue to be at Jamar Chase's contract and whether or not that situation could derail the Bengals Super Bowl hopes now a big deal was made of the fact that he's been in Camp and not practicing with his team until yesterday when he did seem to be going through some of the workouts with the team for the first time shefy what should we make of that well he's done some of their life walkthrough work but my understanding is that this was a sign of good faith as they continue to try to work towards a long-term deal it doesn't mean because he was back yesterday going through a walk through that they're on the verge of getting a deal done they still could get a deal done but they're not at that point just yet both sides I think are working and would like to get a deal done but he was going through the walkthrough practice with the idea that that regular season opener against the New England Patriots is now under two weeks away two weeks from yesterday and so he's starting to ramp back up still with the hope that this deal could and will get done and maybe maybe if Dallas and CD lamb can figure it out that would be not one more Benchmark for the Bengals and Jamar Chase to work off of I don't know that they would need it but it's certainly not going to hurt the situation any of that deal also gets done was a part of the walkth through I don't know that a deal is a whole lot closer but that was an encouraging sign that at least he was going through walk through yesterday a reminder he is in the class after CD lamb lamb and Jefferson were both drafted the year before Jamar Chase so he has one more year left on his contract very quickly let me get my my guys on this one as well Dan or the question is could the Jamar Chas situation derail the Bengals chances of being the biggest Contender maybe the biggest threat to Kansas City in the AFC how do you see it no no I'm just joking of course it does of course it does I mean he's one of the best in football all these holdouts do I I do think that Cincinnati's a little bit different than Dallas Cincinnati can weather maybe a week or two because T Higgins really plays like a one I'm a huge believer and Germaine Burton they drafted SOA who's in their second year at wide receivers so I think this is the best offensive line Joey burough has ever had so to win a Super Bowl absolutely need Jamar if it goes to week one or week two I think they have a chance to survive a week or two of of no Jamar chase you see it the same way yeah listen personally I think Baltimore is the is the you know the the biggest Team U for the Kansas City Chiefs um but they man it is different than than the whole CD lamb situation I will say that yeah I mean Jamar Chase may be just as good as CD lamb but his team around him may not need him quite to the same level let me leave that there for the moment we have so much more NFL to go but I we've got some news out of Cincinnati Bangles camp on Sunday Jamar chase out on the practice field for the very first time that's according to NFL Network the star wide receiver has been a hold in at Bengals Camp as he tries to get a new contract from the team but is running out for a new deal with the season opener against the Patriots now just two weeks away Chase has two years remaining on his current deal which includes his fifth year option in 2025 all right let's welcome in NFL analyst Ryan Wilson for more on this Bengals fans rejoicing probably some fantasy players rejoicing now that a top Target is back practicing Ryan what's your reaction to chase expanding his hold in to now include practice minimize the unforced airs and we've seen a lot of unforced airs when we talk teams like the Cowboys for example so if you can have your best players on the field ready to go for week one this feels like a step in the right direction and you talked about something that's very important with Jamar Chase Jeremy and that he still has two years left on his rookie deal this season and the Bengals picked up his fifth year option so they have him for next season as well and the Browns have made excuse me uh Mike Brown the the head of the uh Bengals has made it clear that it's probably more likely that they try to get something done after the season but he also said we are going to bend over backwards to keep Chase now obviously Chase Fields differently he held in and he didn't take part uh in training camp and obviously preseason but Joe Boro did say this and they played together to LSU of course during that Championship run he said I only need one day to get back on the same page with Jamar and to your point that's incredibly important now that week one is here uh they're facing a Patriots team that's really good on defense that'll struggle on offense but you want to have all your weapons firing uh we know T Higgins is unhappy with this situation he's on the franchise tag and he'll probably be out of Cincinnati after this year uh but Jamar Chase is one of the best players at the wide receiver position in the league and then the question becomes Jeremy is he going to get Justin Jefferson money 35 million per or is it going to be something less than that and to Circle back to what Mike Brown said if you wait till the end of the season it's probably going to be north of that because he set up to have a huge season with Joe burrow in that offense Yeah you mentioned Jefferson getting paid Brandon iuk CD lamb they're next in line along with Chase so what does this hold in and the move to move back to practice potentially tell you about a possible Chase deal that could be coming so part of me wonders Jeremy if this is just Jamar understanding that he's out of Leverage now he could hold out the season but I don't know if that serves him well in the long run or even in terms of what his contract might look like in terms of being different should he not play at all I think he understands that he was making a statement and if something had gotten done up to this point contract wise he would have been happy about it but now he understands that he's got to play football so I don't know if this means that a deal is imminent but it does mean that he understands that he can go out there and ball out and make himself JJ or North money going into the 2025 season we're already looking ahead 12 months uh but I think it was a hold in to the point that was no longer feasible and now that he understands he has to play football he'll suit up and he'll be ready to go and I expect him to have a monster year yeah you look at the aavs there Jefferson at the top at 35 million his deal signed in June and then you have AJ Brown at 32 Alan Ross Brown and Tyreek Hill in at 30 all right so what could Chase returning to practice possibly mean for another guy who's looking for a new contract CD lamb if anything yeah I'm not sure they feel like different situ for Fore [Music] elect [Music] [Music] St foree fore fore spee for
