can West Virginia upset top 10 Penn State at home now this game right here might not be one of the three best non-conference games of week one but Penn State and West Virginia is a top five game easily a lot of people are looking forward to this game and it helps that this game is on Fox at noon it's the big noon kickoff so there's going to be a lot of eye balls on this game especially if the Clemson Georgia game becomes a blowout and me and will indeed we went back and forth on this game trying to decide whether we believe that West Virginia can win at home and start off the season the right way for Neil Brown Squad and show that last season's success was not a fluke for the Mountaineers or whether we believe that James Franklin can start off Penn State season with a big road win and possibly help catapult the nitty lines to having a great season in 2024 Penn State West Virginia in Morgantown big noon yeah this game right here I mean I'm gonna I'm gonna say it's not like one of the top like three games of the week you know the the the headline games it's a solid fourth but but yes it is a solid fourth game and being on Fox the big noon kickoff it's gonna get a lot of coverage right I mean they're they've been hyping the game up for weeks because that's what fox does they're all into promotion they're all into promotion for their game so thing is is that West Virginia and their home crowd things got to get nutty in this game things got to get weird kind of like Clemson Duke like you said things just gotta go AI for Penn State go off the rails West Virginia needs a couple turnovers West Virginia needs the crowd to just be amped they they need take me home to to carry him home I mean they need everything that to work out for West Virginia you know what I'm saying I mean pen State's the better team they're favored by eight they're favored by eight they're not favored by more because West Virginia's crowd is that good but West Virginia needs things to go their way I I know Joey and the other West Virginia fans I know they're hyping up West Virginia they do every year and they Jo West Virginia is going 10 and two they they think they're going 10 and two that's what Joey thinks okay I mean that's that's steep I I I gotta look at their full schedule to be honest I have not looked at it I was watching the moring show today and Mark agreed to send Country Roads if West Virginia wins this game hey well that's that's definitely possible I'm not gonna lie it is definitely possible so I I would love to see that I'm kind of root for West Virginia now but I mean I think it's gonna be a good game but there's one of two ways this is going to happen I think either I think either West Virginia is going to find a way to squeak it out or it's going to be close to the fourth and then Penn State's going to blow it open like win by 14ish that that that's the two scenarios I'm really seeing maybe Penn State holds on I can see that but to me the two likeliest scenarios Is that West Virginia either survives or Penn State pulls it away in the fourth um I don't know man I mean I can go back and forth on this one I mean Penn State's better that's the thing they're the better team I there not even a debate for me Penn State is the better team the only thing is though is they have a new OC and they got Tom Allen it's a new defensive coordinators so two new coordinators and a tough road game that could be tough but but what are you thinking yeah Andy CLE Nikki uh he's got a unlock rer for pen state to be successful maybe not in this game but definitely if they want to do any damage against so have against uh USC and I believe they play Oregon too I think they avoided the big two though um for West Virginia returning they're one of the top five in the power four returning starters from last year which is good what and th West Virginia went nine and4 last year which is good for West Virginia the problem for West Virginia is they got blown out in three of their losses against like Texas Oklahoma and someone else I I'm trying to remember who they who they lost to I can't I can't remember that that final one but basically that showed you West Virginia was ba they were like they were average right they they were they were above average but they weren't good enough to compete with the big teams like Missouri was last year yeah I believe they only that good I believe the Mountaineers only have one win against a team with a winning record I believe that's not that's not that good that's not that good I mean hey they took care of this in the regular season they beat Carolina in their bowl game but Carolina didn't even have none of their good players though man I mean they had no Drake may they had like none of their their quality players yeah only one win in the regular season gets a team with a winning record and that was seven- six Texas Tech so like how would it would be fun for WV you to win I can't pull the trigger I can't pull the upset trigger over this game unfortunately even though it would be really fun to see uh West Virginia win yeah so what what's your score I'll go 31 I'll go 3424 for okay yeah I mean that's about the spread uh so I mean my thing is is like you said I mean that that exposes West Virginia a little bit that I mean like Scotty says right here appreciate you for stopping by unfortunately like nobody likes Penn State like we're all even me like I'm I'm te I'm rooting for West Virginia like I'm not a I'm not a massively biased person I'm not but I can't I can say especially now that I know Mark's got some stakes in with this now like I'm Roo for West Virginia I want to see I want to see that song saying I mean I want to see it so but I don't know man I just think I just feel like Penn State is too good I mean they do choke in a lot of big games but is this like does that this qualifies like a big game like we're talking about you know Rose Bowl material stuff no and West Virginia I mean again solid team above average team but they're not great and I mean does anybody really I mean I love how we went from like Neil Brown's gonna get fired and he's garbage to oh he's a great coach now like he's fantastic in the middle yes he's not great he's not garbage but he's not great and I understand Franklin James Franklin you could say the same for him but Penn State is more talent I know Talent isn't everything but I I do think Penn State's going to win 3127 I think they're gonna I think they're going to squeak it out I even though I said that the two likeliest scenarios are going to be that they pull away and and win by more or lose I I I think that the the less likely scenario is what I'm seeing uh is for me I think that they're gonna squeak it up West Virginia it's gonna be weird that atmosphere is gonna be crazy but the other thing if it was a night game the night game would make it different too like right the home atmosphere at night even Mark said he's not big into that right he's not big into the night making a big difference but even he said that when it's at night the crowd or something about it just a little bit more amped I don't know Penn State's gonna pull it out be a big for their season too because if they lose I mean a lot of people are gonna you know start thinking more negatively of them that they're not going to really have as good of a year and if West Virginia that would put them in great shape for their season but I think Penn State will win subscribe a channel if you like sports content like this video
