[Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] guys you guys are going crazy already holy hell you guys are going nuts right now dude Vinnie Dizzle Connor dumb Lego guy Ian SC Dorian Ian Michael Chris Boomer aaria Cree kale I'm trying not to miss one in there deara definitely Joe okay listen I'm here because I I'm slow all right I'm I'm a little slow when I have to set it up on my own I can't pass it over to Colton just to while I'm finishing setting it up all right Mariner Steve what's good homie anzela Austin Kent Code Red let's go heck yeah Dizzle back dizz's back baby Ash is going to lose again to four games I mean it's the tough matchup against the orio that's all I'll say it's Kikuchi versus Dean Kramer but the Mariners did their job today okay Cree that's crazy where's Colton who needs him what's up guys hello Mariner Steve hearing that we're back it's never been we've never been more back it was once hold on jover like shoot oh this is so difficult it was once jover but now we're so back so back dude nothing like being a singular game over 500 right baby m m just gorgeous we have B more back Ian all right listen okay listen you were there dumb Lego guy W offense looks terrible at least we applying pressure more often yeah some of the at bats not my favorite definitely had a chance to score more than four today Turner stung a couple balls and just didn't get rewarded for it so that that goes you know doesn't go unnoticed but like hanar gr grounding into a double play there not the best but a run does score right there's there's things to like it's not perfect but it gets the job done it's more than one run it's more than two runs and hey 4 to3 final score murderers went seven hits that two-run bomb in the first inning by Ramos was a little scary I won't lie good pitch to like like fantastic job for him at the plate like Bros a menace that was not an easy pitch to hit out and he just takes Brian woo deep but woo comes back bounces back after giving up a two-run bomb in the first inning only one run credited to him because a Josh roas air goes seven Innings goes the distance if you want to call that the distance for Brian woo four hits two runs like I said no walk 7ks Pete Woodworth Master Class Mound visit to help him finish that seventh Colin Snyder Works into a bit of bit of trouble gives up that leadoff home whatever okay Colin Snyder still has the ice in his veins same thing with Munos allowing some guys on but never a doubt never a doubt RAR roas air bro through Turner a short hop across the diamond when he should have long hopped it I don't even you know it it is what it is massive W for the crew today huge W huge W all we got to do is win out in September exactly that's all you got to do you just have to go 32 and0 from the from here on out I think is how the math Works no 31 and0 31 and0 to to finish 97 and 65 so we'll be we'll be great will be great you're not Manny Dorian oh he's yeah no who at the stadium right now jork when do we think we'll get JP back code red I mean he had he did have a rehab start down in Tacoma yesterday went 0 for three and did not see uh a ground ball hit his way I imagine that he could be ready for Tampa Bay but maybe they push it off a little bit since he's been out for some time and they have him come back for the road trip Beyond Tampa Bay like heading into Anaheim could be so have the M considered never losing again aeria I would hope so as a team that likes to win baseball games I would hope that they've considered not doing that like not losing you know what I mean the rest of the Mar's opponents will forfeit true Dizzle pause relax would Scott would allow Pete to go out there and calm down SN that's that's the thing is we've seen I think now two instances where like the conversation will be from the first game Scott doesn't walk Lamont Way Jr right Scott probably pulls Snyder there and goes to Munos for the four out save maybe oh the Trident Dizzle that's that's on me dog truth truth be told that that's bad on my part Dizzle okay that's bad on my part tridon Pride's back baby Dizzle that's so embarrassing on my part Kikuchi gonna sell sell is in like I mean if he sells that's a good thing no that means he's gonna unless you're saying sell as in he'll pitch well but Scott would have used call that are back-to-back days also my hands are up Dan Wilson's The Man Dan Wilson is the man okay he's the guy Nelson Cruz Jersey facts dude have to BU anytime it's Sunday and I'm feeling like it I'll bust out my my Cru Sunday cream all right I'll I'll I'll bring it out but how are we feeling we we're obviously I mean that goes without saying we're feeling good okay this is an insane feeling for being one game over 500 I'm just going to put it out there and I don't know if that's me like coping crazy but I feel really good witness to clutch Jo Josh roas left on left hit today dude he's back I every single time you like Steve you tweeted basically like like basically like the chills beam I want next to the clip of the hit that you're whatever that you're referencing I want like the whispering like in someone's ear and then the arm like hair standing up meme like that's the first thing I think of like chill like bro got a left on left on hit like it's crazy smells like COPE in here man dude Austin Jackson smells like uh I don't have a good response and I I apologize only watch the top nine what else big happened well obviously woo gave up a home run in the first Mariners got one back uh in the bottom of the first you know it just a singular run off of Robbie Ray they tie it up in the fifth then they score two in the sixth that was the the Mitch hanigar grounded to a double play and then Josh Roos getting the extra insurance run but Nicholas Howard what up dog welcome welcome in um and then when Snyder comes in he get he uh gets ambushed by Grant McCrae for a home run making it three to four and then Muno shuts it down Justin Turner looks like an athlete at first brosen his prime there were a couple plays I will say um maybe it's like the digs the the first play by like throw by Roos tough dig to make there was one later I didn't like see it happen the entire time but like a ball got past him and I was just like in my head like what are we Justin Turner but of course totally redeemed himself don't feel good it was a good win in a good series but I still feel like we're four back of the division and five back of the wild card I don't think it still feel I think that is just the reality in which in which you are Ian that is that is the the current state of the Mariners that yeah it was a series win it was great Series win in general but you're right the the the reality is you're still four back of the division and five back or whatever of the Wild Card lucky luckily and I say this with a you know take it with a granted assult all the teams ahead of us in the Wild Card lost as well the Royals lost the twins lost and the Red Sox lost we made ground on at least three teams today and whether or not the wild cards further out than the division of course it is having that ability to make up ground is great but is it too much maybe Dan is the manager next year Dan is the man a jur for sure yeah he's not going anywhere in 2025 I think he will be there I will be there no matter what killing mbappe me all right like that's that's where Dan Wilson's at right now he's the answer every year Mr Sticky has drank the Kool-Aid he has done it Austin there was a message I wanted to read Austin Kent this is like getting your children back from their mom good feelings that's quite the the comparison but I like it I I like the I like the vibe hello Joe hello user error hello my friend do you think Dan will lead us to the playoffs again just outlined they're still four back of the division with the Astros playing right now all the teams in front of you in the Wild Card lost you are six and a half back of the twins who are the third wild card spot and then the Royals have that same same record so you are strictly six and a half back from wild card spot as it stands so I don't think it will necessarily be an easy road but it's a road that you're going to have to travel regardless should do a watch party for the Astros game no I I I refuse that offer thank you though water melon Catman hello just a simple hello $1.99 I appreciate it watermelon Catman 123 appreciate it dog hello Astros play the Orioles and the Phillies next though like I hate that I have hope but you do kind of have hope aaria that's what they that's what they wanted Hook Line and Sinker that's what they wanted the entire time they knew they were going to bring back The Vibes of 90 holy hell how loud was that for everybody is everyone deaf everyone's deaf that was so loud why was that so loud hold on give give me a moment chat that was quiet oh it was legitimately like eard drum bursting in my ears must suck being the streamer that wasn't loud for you guys oh that's that's relieving news I swear to God I thought I just like absolutely bursted all of your eard drums refuse to lose refuse to lose Stephen can you keep his post on the as's least I mean I'll have it up on game day next to me I I most certainly will but I I will not be you know and and truth be told truth be told Wilson There are going to be people in chat that are going to say it regardless they're also doing it people in chat are way ahead of me a lot of the time there's sound effect with nothing insanely loud that's again fantastic news Rocky thank you how much do you not like the marish chasing at balls and looking at strikes more I'm confus like how I I would prefer them to not Chase balls out of the strike zone and I would like for them to swing and attempt to hit strikes yes I would say yes Nicholas that that would be my preference but Series win how you feeling with Dan Wilson so far I mean they're two- one they've got a 667 win percentage you do that you probably make the playoffs the rest of the way just saying if you continue a 667 win percentage the rest of the way you're probably winning you're probably going to the playoffs if I do imagine the stros game is blacked out what do you mean it's in Europe like you're in Europe how is it blacked out in Europe they're on ESPN oh that'll do it that'll do it watching the postgame interview Dan looks just like Scott even the gestures and names and stuff he just looks like Scott I I'm waiting I mean Colton and I obviously will record the podcast for tomorrow after this at some point I'm I'm I'm taking the over at two and a half times that Colton messes up his name and says Scott or service instead of Dan or Dan Wilson you know what I mean like I'm taken over two and a half times in in the podcast if I'm being real if I'm being real oh so you're here you're just you're just here like hearing me say that perfect fantastic news Colton well Dan beat Services record for their first eight games Scott was two and six sample size alone so Steamboat I guess my question is is did Scott not get his second win until the eighth game literally the first thing you heard smooches bro Steamboat was that Services record was he was he two and six through the first eight games Colton's gonna make sure no he's literally like he will anytime he's he goes to say it he's going to deliberately probably slow down and make sure that he doesn't mess it up that cheeky bastard cheeky cheeky bastard smooches 69 for life oh all right guys I've got great news the Astros went three up three down in the top of the first I have fantastic news for everybody get on chat Colton they want you to join the call and like get on stream weird with woo doing well what is a rotation a three- game playoff series you know Lyall from the Marine layer podcast may have been may have cooked maybe Brian Woo is is the second or third game starter you know Logan Gilbert probably gets game one maybe maybe Brian Woo's the answer man maybe he is he's pitched lights out he's done exceptionally well for the entire year basically but he's been the last couple of times out definitely exceeding expectations especially late into the year where maybe like Innings and fatigue maybe starts to catch up to him no he has kicked it up into like the next gear I would I would I mean real like being completely transparent with my recency bias having just watched Brian woo go out there and shove for seven Innings I would go Logan I would go man Kirby and Miller in the pen nah I you want Kirby in the pen I think on the year fourth and fifth best is I would I would lean Kirby over Castillo but I know that the the pedigree for Castillo probably is there and I understand why I again this is my bias I'm going Logan I'm going woo and then game three I will give it to Kirby my hands are up you know burn you know whatever burn me at the stake I know it'll be Castillo I honestly think they would even they would probably go Gilbert Castillo Kirby realistically and then they'd have woo and Miller in the pen kind of a Vibe hasn't had it all year laau okay all [Music] right all year okay sure sure let's see here so George Kirby this year hasn't had it all year all year in the month of June George Kirby started five games he pitched 31 Innings gave up 23 hits gave up six earned runs and struck out 31 batters to a 174 erra in those 31 innings all year in July the following month he made six starts through 36 and two3 innings gave up 34 hits nine earn runs to a 221 ER just saying oh admittedly August has been bad August has been bad a 652 erra in 19 and a3d he's given up 32 hits he's been bad in August but to say that he hasn't had it all year I'm sorry is largely false the tiger series no August completely valid you probably go to who's hot right now right if the series ended or the season ended today like sure Kirby and Miller are probably in the pen April and they weren't good either though come on they weren't good but you look at June and July that's two like it was two mid months eras at 4ish and then two fantastic months now let's just hope they're not too awful months because that's the that's the thing that you can't have that's the thing that you cannot have again I'm not saying that Kirby has pitched better than Gilbert or woo this year but I think he is at least level with Castillo if that makes sense do I think the mar are going to win the World Series in 2024 Nicholas Howard you have the best questions they're straightforward to the point my answer right now is no but anything can happen we're taking good or bad for Kirby either way like he's still Kirby again like in the playoffs he definitely ramps up I feel like in big games he has ramped up in the past but will he be able to do that this year that's yet to be see high expectations for him after last year true I don't think he's I mean he's got a 348 erra on the year that's not bad it's not what we expect like people probably expected him to be closer to three but 348 is not bad it could be worse let's have let's have Kikuchi go out and get shelled for seven runs in the first inning I mean it looks like to me I mean he's already thrown nine pitches in just one batter so Orioles getting the pitch count up it's code red dude it is code red code Red's code red was in here like from the jump dude he was here ready to go Shout Out My Guy Code Red how far do I live from giant Stadium about an hour an hour and like 10 minutes why can't the Mariners trade for judge they have money not that much money Nicholas not that much money that's a bit that's a healthy chunk of change Pikachu will do his part for Seattle perfect bro said he's ready and isn't answering my call just not answering my call huh you just didn't want to didn't want to talk oh okay you know what I mean I didn't mention at all because I wanted to be a surprise that Colton's here guys wow let's say hi to Colton really quick well you should have probably said that no that you wanted it to be a surprise so I knew that no no it's more fun this way is it I think I think it's more fun this fun this way has Colton been here he just got here sup Thunder hey cheese double team oh smooches smooches bro how's my k camera it looks like it's off a little bit is it is it good it's a little angled up I think more than normal but it's fine yeah all right just take hold of me come here yeah look how short I look you look like a little guy you look like my height right now Colton from the hit it here podcast dude that's me that's you from the hit it here podcast uh in service's first eight games Mar's manager he was two and six to start off the season against Texas and Oakland he has lost he has lost six straight in that stretch did he go 2 and0 and then lose six in a row is that what that says cuz technically service had a better start in the first two games than Dan Wilson did because steo earlier you're were saying will Dan Wilson have a better start in the first eight games seems like you're cherry picking a little bit my friend maybe you're cherry picking is Garcia's injury legit yeah that he had it earlier in the year as well um when he was pitching great that's what he was coming off of basically he had been pitching like three or four games when the Mayors acquired him um didn't work out is what it is oh shame Orioles didn't score in the first shame col how's the game today man is anyone going to bring up we replace Tao and Suarez for hanar and Garver playoffs playoffs we're talking playoffs playoffs well just a friendly reminder chat that t Oscar Hernandez was never going to resign here just a friendly reminder uh but yeah the the whole Au auo thing was a problem that should have never happened like the auo thing is what I'm more pissed off about that than I about Tao I don't care about taao he was never gonna he was never gonna resign here so it is what it is but um yeah does teao make the catch today that hanigar made did you see it I'm just putting it out there I don't know if Tao makes well Tao's a better athlete so he probably actually does but whether or not he runs a good route to the ball is the question at hand Haner made a beautiful route to the ball and leapt up at the perfect time like it was it was a great catch for the Ageless wonder that is Mitch hanigar but that is true it's a good point did Luke have the the the poopy butts I I don't know if they've said why he was a late scratch yet but it works out Dylan Moore three Steals on base what all four times I mean Deo was in the game already wasn't he at third but he was then leading off oh okay that's the difference okay got you heyo hated it in Seattle I don't I don't think he hated it in Seattle I think he just hated hitting specifically I think he I think he was all right with Seattle itself he like it seems like he liked the fans he liked the team yeah um he just he couldn't hit here and I mean that's not you know no one's fault except for well teos and the fact that the stadium might have some issues so um you're at the point in the season where I'm okay with whatever happens but man I want to watch playoff baseball in Seattle Trevor I'm right there with you um I went to the game yesterday and like I whenever I when I was watching things it's like uh I just I just truly didn't care you know what I mean like as like things happen I was like okay whatever like oh you know they gave up a run whatever I don't care it just didn't bother me which was actually kind of nice that you're able to just like disconnect a little bit and enjoy the game yeah well enjoy the game for as much as you could mhm yeah had great time yesterday another loss on the 24th with you in attendance I'm telling you you need to stop going to games that are played on the 24th I'm just throwing it out there let's see what my record is this year Luke had flu flu like symptoms thank you Mara I appreciate that that's hope I mean hopefully it's just a oneandone thing and he'll be back in the lineup tomorrow unless there's a lefty they don't have a day off tomorrow do they no tomorrow against the Rays I am seven and six on the year imagine not being like two and0 right right right Chad like imagine not being two and0 what's my go-to food at the Ballpark uh chicken tenders every time uh thank you Wilson yeah pepio uh you you would feel bad Rocky if Joe drove all the way up here to watch a playoff game um yep that I mean that never happened before yeah that's that's if I had two you know if I had a nickel it's weird that it happened twice or whatever Ian don't say one zero don't do that um you saying one Z4 garver's going to be ridiculous in the 2024 playoffs so we're all going to be like where were you all season honestly I mean I'm I'm down I'm in I'm in for that um ta was only was the only legit number three hole hitter did you guys watch Ty Oscar Hernandez last year did you watch him James has a vendetta for teoscar Hernandez this is this is T Oscar Hernandez's number one fan put up his second lowest career Ops Plus in a full season true thre hole hitter again not to discredit teoscar hernandz as a player but like bro just he put up his low like it just wasn't a good year Oher guy it's true I do I don't know if I'd agree with that what do I look like just a food guy okay I mean chicken and garlic fries the ball park meals of a real man that's what I got yesterday I actually yesterday wanted to get like a like a big league burger or something like that but then like I I met down with Jake rise the Trident and then I met up with uh deara and then I was like man I'm hungry and so I just went to the first place I saw so and and it happened to be chicken tendies nice so hey Nicholas what's up man uh who's the number one player you want next year to sign or trade for the mar have oh they have a realistic so I can't say Soo because say Soo they don't have a realistic chance of signing Soo not with that attitude they just don't final final answer oh I look like a chicken tender thank you I think I think you look nice and breaded now wait a minute in terms of in terms of sign I don't think there's a single hitter that will sign here I do not think the Mariners will sign a single hitter this off season like a like a notable one I'm looking at an article from Mark fand fineand from August 21st the top free agents this offseason um number number four is Alex bregman um potential fits Astros Diamondbacks Mariners so would you would you would you root would you happily root for Alex bregman in a Mariners Jersey no or would you would that be a signing that you would not not only do I not like him because he's with the as I don't like him as a person Matt chap number seven here listed as a potential fit for the for the Mariners I think if I I think if for I mean the issue is with Matt Chapman as well the him and the Giants have they've been open about like being willing to extend like contract talks for the upcoming years I don't know if he's going to leave San Francisco I would be pretty okay with signing Matt Chapman given how he's turned out this year and I will eat all my words because I was very an anti mat Chapman very very much so thought he was overrated this last off season and he's quietly putting up a five and a half win year according to reference War like how much that is defensive War though I mean he still has a 119 Ops plus yeah I mean it's it's a very quietly solid bat with Stellar defense I'm I'm taking it every day of the week kind kind of a kind of a thing so yeah I don't I don't hate the idea like I mean at this this point Chapman he proved us wrong he really did um you know he hit 240 330 424 last year coming of the offseason numbers actually relatively similar to what he's putting up this year um but yeah I don't know I mean overall he had three less home runs uh he's stolen a lot more bags this year they're way up for him he's at 12 his career high before this year was four that's the that's the national league Giants branded baseball just get just get real real crafty with it yeah I mean his his strikeout rate is down this year at uh down to 24.3% from a career 26.8 last year it was up to 28.4 so percentage is about right he said he never felt comfortable in Toronto for whatever reason like or at least towards the end whether that has to do with like management or whatever like just didn't feel comfortable Nicholas JP is probably back in September I wouldn't be surpris he he probably could be available for the ray series but if they want to give him a little bit more time he could be ready for for the upcoming road trip in Anaheim Colton you read the chat do you would James I'm trying not to be mean here drafted I'm just I'm just gonna need some critical thinking from you really quick buddy all right uh he's never developed any first and foremost Julio Rodriguez you ever heard of the guy have you ever heard of Cal Raley you rodgz is a bust Cal struck out three times today bust yeah they never drafted any I mean have you not seen the Mariners farm system right now it is Shock full of hitters at the top end of the top 100 like I don't I don't I don't I don't know how to help you James I don't know how to help you little bro he's got to see he's got to see the results on the field and 2025 2026 Cole Young Harry Ford Lazaro Montes Colt Emerson they still had to develop him there James still got to develop an international signing little but like it's they're going to cook they're going to cook Ty France is a great hitter and his injury too by the way would we credit I don't know if I'd credit Mariners with developing him as like the Padres but I get what you're saying like they acquired him and Sheldon noisy that rat bastard Astros and Orioles still scoreless it seems um poop Cree after all the Good Vibes today what the heck why why not what's wrong with Harry Ford it's not great offensive numbers it's an Ops around 750 in in Arkansas which is a hard place to hit VAR rties I feel like he's doing fine hey colen hey Kon talk about Randy base hit well Randy base hit do well base hit go far Randy score very good Randy got hit by two pitches today he was very angry about both of them as you can imagine he got hit twice yeah Robbie Ray hit him uh then he got the stair down and I think it was jelly that hit him yeah I saw that one yeah I think Robbie Ray hit him earlier in the game too get him out he's a bum you're a bum bum [Music] true what about Harry Hyundai Bullpen arms after spending 20 picks a year in the draft on pitching James I'm sorry bro I just don't know how to help you I I I I straight up don't know how to help you James I'm sorry I don't know how to help you guys ignoring the stuff Dan Wilson's doing better than Scott hello I don't think we're ignoring it a manificent chance that that anything has changed and Dan Wilson said as much he said that things are not going to change in 37 games that's what he said that those are literally words from Dan Dan Wilson's mouth patient at Bass yeah we read that I don't know stealing more I don't know like I has Dan Wilson and Edgar Martinez helped sure like I think there's a chance but he used Colin Snider on back-to-back dat and Colin Snider got shelled today sheld relax pause it was an ambushed home run and he worked out of a jam Pete Woodworth worked his magic in a mountain visit you need to you you know what I'm ending the call I'm ending the call I'm kicking you off the stream for the Colin Snider slander so sorry that he gave up a run for the first time in like two calendar months okay listen okay listen the when when the maror offense is so bad the the the the pitching better be perfect it's the way it is if you want if you guys want to make the playoffs pitching better be perfect and they they they they did the job today it almost wasn't the job but they did the job they they they you know they anchored down and they got it done stealing third several times is that a I mean if that's Dan Wilson making the call Steen third like on big leg kicks from Robbie Ray like shout out to Dylan Moore like he's running crazy reer Rosena got his 100th career steal today like it definitely feels like there could be a tangible change there as far as like getting the run like getting the bases and just like the offense rolling I will say they've talked about that on the broadcast a bunch of times the entire year just sometimes it wasn't going in the right direction today it felt like it did so maybe that's why it feels like maybe it it was a result of that managerial change if it if it is fantastic we're not here to discredit Dan Wilson in any way like that's not if if that's what you're getting out of it I I apologize but that's not what this like those conversations are when we're like oh yeah this is happening like because the players are doing this thing it's not that we're like oh Dan Wilson has nothing to do with it no it's just like that's not it's not always a direct correlation Dan Wilson's the second pass manager holy [ __ ] I can't wait for them to lose 10 in a row now Ju Just to completely blow everything out of the water oh God that'll be an excuse that'll be an excuse on why never had Dan Wilson never had prior manager experience how could we expect him to come in and win how could we expect him to come in and change everything but he's changed things in three games oh God the the life of a Mariners fan is so funny man it's so funny guys don't jinx it too late we jinxed it they're going to go they're I'm telling you they're going 31 and0 the rest of the way they're gonna and if they don't they're currently sitting at a 667 win percentage in the Dan Wilson era that probably gets you into the playoffs playoffs playoffs we're four back six and a half back of the Wild Card we're talking about playoffs let's see time would you say 667 yeah that mean they would win 20 games there you go puts them at what8 six wins yeah it truly could come down to the Houston the Houston series of SE that's true second to last series of the Year be a big one just put Edgar in the rotation I put Edgar at the plate before the rotation but uh Dizzle tells I do not I haven't in a while I watched I've watched them infrequently before but I have not watched them in a while I would say should have been fired a year ago Kenneth Kenneth with the take a year ago like in the middle of the Season like down the stretch like in the off season I feel like in the offseason could have been a fine time to do it if they really wanted to CH make that change then but maybe they didn't feel like it was they were ready for it and they didn't have a good replacement maybe lined up had they done that they could have gotten Steven vote and maybe maybe the Mars would be just as good as the guardians but we'll never know know yeah I mean firing a manager after the second best three-year stretch in the entire team's history would be would go kind of crazy it would have to come from some sort of like player conversation with ownership or like not ownership but like other upper management like hey Scott's not doing this Scott's not doing that like that could that could have maybe resulted in something like that but yeah Scott was never losing his job after last year but can to Triple A I don't I don't know go ahead I don't I don't necessarily disagree with that yeah uh since Dan Wilson is in the Mars Hall of Fame would there be a section or thing where they will honor his managerial career with us I mean I would assume they just put it in the same spot like maybe like another little plaque next to it or something like that but yeah you just realize that Edgar has had his grips on Julio like he always wanted if anyone can fix Julio it's him and both are righties if Julio stinks at least they gave him Edgar to help I mean Edgar's been with the organization like for basically ever since he retired um so I mean yeah I I I don't know like now he has more direct access but he's been with the organization for Julio's entire career uh we haven't developed even a single middle infielder boy do I have news for you Jimmy in the uh in the Mariners minor league system right now boy oh did you did you just call him Jimmy that's right no longer James it's my boy Jimmy uh Julio has no power right now he doesn't and I mean I understand that I know I know after I broke my right ankle turning in the Box was a scariest thing in the world I had zero power when I came back uh I could not for the life of me hit a ball hit a ball with any sort of like power because I was so afraid of turning on my ankle did Julio not hit a double today am I tripping hit one yesterday was it yesterday that I'm thinking of yeah okay that's probably where I got lost you don't give Scott crit all right Scott gets all the credit but it was only because of our generational pitching staff that got him where he was I mean in in the in the year the Mariners made the playoffs Robbie Ray was mid as hell Marco Gonzalez was a part of that uh starting rotation like the starting rotation wasn't like crazy good that year you know what I mean in 2022 yeah let me go take a look at how the RO how how the Mariners pitching was in 2022 like fan graphs like erra and War and and whatnot I mean they were good Robbie and Ray was not mid I mean his first year here was definitely a let down compared to what he was the year prior team at a 359 year was eighth in baseball yeah it wasn't great it was not generational you know what I mean it wasn't coming off a sa young level like you know looking at the year prior he had a 284 ra that ra jumps up to 371 his ER Plus was 157 in 2021 with Toronto it was even 100 he was a League average pitcher exactly what skull just said legitimately the exact he was a League average pitcher he wasn't bad but he wasn't that Sai Young guy that you needed did he potentially help you know Foster some sort of development for Logan Gilbert George Kirby maybe then like tapped into some of the other guys like in 2023 like being around the club with Bryce Miller and Brian W having to come up to replace him and Marco Gonzalez yeah I don't doubt that one bit there's so much conversation in the previous years about how Ry was a big part of that Clubhouse I don't doubt that his impact is still being felt to this day but was he a was he like he literally was the definition of mid he was League average playing as day and sometimes that's fine it just it didn't work out as well as people probably had wanted yeah and the the the intangibles with him it's like like you just said you know he was a leader on on and off the field they said like even for like the the position players he was still a big leader for them um and that was talked about a lot and I think that there's no way to measure that there's no way to measure what Rob did in that sense and just the idea of bringing on a former sa Young Award winner like that's awesome like it was it was super cool for the team like yeah I was super excited about it but you excited for him in 2023 dude he was pumping gas in spring training I think like everyone not everyone maybe not everyone a lot of people were very I think much so bought into the Robbie Ray bounce back in 2023 with how he was looking in Spring and it's just like unfortunate circumstances oh thank you Kyle I appreciate that we talk about how Kyle never shaves properly we don't need to but we can if you'd like to how aren't you still at work bro you were you're at work in here sometimes don't hate on Kyle that's true aren't you supposed to be like watering or something uh but yeah I don't know Robbie Ray I mean yeah what was his injury today was it his hamstring hamstring tightness yeah I just looked up and all of a sudden bro wasn't in the game anymore like what the hell happened but I don't know I mean yesterday's game was a lot of fun I thought they might have had a comeback in him um in that ninth inning but unfortunately it just was not I'm sorry James I can't anymore it just was not in the cards it was just not in the cards so but yeah I mean hey they won the series that's all you can really ask for you know what I mean like you can't ask for that I mean they they came pretty dang close to sweeping this series yeah um and yeah if they if they win the series each year the rest of the way like that's a good that's a good way to give yourself a really good chance to make the playoffs right so P mind playing slow pitch softball we are the same person dude back in the day chat I was um I was playing for the varsity high school team and it was like my first time pitching um and we were pitching at like a it was like a oh God what was it it was like a scrimmage game basically or no it wasn't it was it was not a scrimmage game it was a regular game but I threw a pitch a guy bunted and as I'm running after the bunt I pulled my hammy and then and then I waved off the coach next pitch the ne the next guy bunted and on on the on the way down I said some Choice words to the guy and then I was pulled out of the game and then I was kicked off varsity because um because I was hurt so and our coach was an [ __ ] but that's but but that's not that's not really the point uh only two times have I seen Robbie Robbie pitch for the Mariners he gave up a home run to yord Dawn and his only start last year so in my eyes he was trash hey I was at that start last year that's that's a tough stretch Felipe was the hanar trade to win absolutely yep I think it was absolutely a win I mean and that there are there's a lot of nuance to it but I think that bringing back Mitch hanar as a voice as just a guy to kind of hold hold you over in the Outfield don't get me wrong he has not been anything special he has not been like crazy good yeah but it is nice to have Mitch back I will say he is still a negative win player on the year um I I think like you're saying there's a lot of nuance to it um you maybe wish that the like the bat was a little bit more consistent but he has come up clutch in several different instances and how you can measure that it's hard to say like it's not going to boil down just to his War I think there's a lot more to what mchan brings as far as Robbie Ray is concerned like who knows what he was going to give you this year he's pitched all right for San Francisco in his time um it also helped facilitate the H palano trade later on so like him Robbie Ray and Mitch hanar are both worth the ex the same exact reference War as it stands right now they're both worth negative point1 whether that changes today with Robbie Ray's start coming up short and hanar making a good play in the Outfield like it's it's a it's really hard to say I don't know if I'm going to say it's like a massive success I am happy that hanar is on the team that he is a voice for the clubhouse he has had some great moments but to say that I want him getting like nine at bats a week maybe like 12 at like I don't know if I want him in there that much I I am I'm I was a lot more happy when it was a one start a week and a pinch it opportunity like six at bats a week kind of a Vibe versus how much he's playing right now but of course that's due to injuries I think if your Outfield was fully healthy that would probably be Han's role is about eight like seven to eight at bats a week I would say the money next year's tough but you would have owed that money to Robbie Ray anyways so yeah then um isn't Robbie AR Ray a free agent this season offseason I don't think no didn't he have he was 26 huh I think he had an option yeah um but I mean Robbie Ray where would you where would he have pitched this year chat like he wouldn't have he wouldn't have have you seen the Mariners starting five this generational pitching staff Robbie Ray doesn't fit into that Robbie Ray has no spot in that pitching staff so he wouldn't have played for the Mariners anyway so it's a moot point yeah and I mean small sample size aside like hanigar first and second half splits the the batting average and stuff isn't all that much better it's the slugging that has started to come around for Mitch a little bit in the first F his slugging was 336 he had an Ops of 618 in 73 or I get let's just say 265 at bats and about a third of those at bats in the second half his Ops is 703 and his slugging is 395 so like 60 and 80 points higher right like he is definitely hitting better in the second half he started to hit lefties a little bit better in the second half he's no longer a reverse splits Merchant but Jeffrey we're winning the World Series with what seems to be a potentially sarcastic Emoji I might say Jeffrey but appreciate your $2 appreciate it yeah um like I said before if the mayor win the World Series I'm getting a trident tattoo so I I me I've never wanted a tattoo but I want that tattoo really bad like that's the one I need that's the one I need yeah through 26 to the player op okay that's that's what it was uh here's a fun one to think about if we have the ghost Runner rule in the playoffs for the 18 inning game back in 2022 is there a chance the Mariners could have won I mean absolutely there's a chance it's just I mean again you're you're playing you're playing the uh you're playing the Astros so I I don't know I don't know going to break that tridon too if I have to yeah if I have to I absolutely will do you think revos goes to Third Base more often when JP comes back a little choppy chat I think we may have died chat do you hear us y'all Frozen oh rip I'm gonna say refresh because it looks like it's on on my it's fine on my end it the my my uh we're back all right bet we back we back look guys we're back that's not that's not Washington State internet that's California internet right there boys yeah it is I mean I the issue was I had two fan graphs tabs open I had a spot track spot track tab open and I was trying to search up Leo revos to see if he's ever played third in the minor leagues so I've got a couple tabs open that probably resulted in that but um I was GNA say so Leo revas what happens when JP comes back we were saying that revas is just going to go down I disagree his area what I was saying is Dom can Zone I think probably goes down yo Travis team team chicken dender with the 999 appreciate it sir team chicken tender uh chronic Conor he he played for the reers last night um went 0 for three and only played five innings uh played Short Stop did not have a single ball hit to him yeah so he will probably be back within a week but Travis appreciate the 9999 man I team chick chick boom chicken tender specifically Travis Legend legendary so yeah Dom canzone not this like sure potentially a good pinch [ __ ] opportunity for you but like if you're facing a lefty to start Ra's probably on your bench anyways and then when the time comes and ay's in later you can pinch hit Lukey in that situation right rley is the like fourth outfielder is right because Julio can Patrol center field for you two three times a week now DH the other days Ro BL when he's healthy hopefully his hand is feeling okay for the ray series we get the Outfield of Randy Julio and Ro blace like canzone should go down I think revos has provided you great defensive abilities in the infield he's swinging a pretty hot bat in the minor leagues throughout his career he's mainly been second base in shorts stop obviously he has logged 478 Innings at third though okay so I just with with with his with his defensive capabilities it scares me a little bit um he's not a great defender from what we've seen revas yeah he's made some errors but I feel like he's also made like it's very like it's kind of like Dylan Moore like yeah very like volatile like some days he's slick with it the other days he looks like he's got a brick for a hand saw the discourse about like if revas goes the third to give Roos some days off whatever since rias's bats playing well I feel like you might put him at second and have palano go to third I don't know if that's any better than revos at third but palanco has played there in the majors before but there's options right there there's definitely ways to kind of shift and maneuver it around but I don't know if it's like super super pressing to like guarantee Leo revas at bats I mean he's looked good he's had a a lot of professional looking ABS where he's come up big obviously the walk-off is a huge one where he just doesn't try to do too much with it and puts it out into center field exactly what he needed to do in that situation it'll be interesting when JP comes back but ultimately it should be Dom that goes down unless it gets weird with September call-ups like I don't know shout out ji uh Jeffrey $5 holla how we feeling about offloading Luis Castillo for a bigname bat in the off season feel like our still our starting pitching would still be a strength I Jo I feel like this is something we should just talk about in the podcast um because it's been brought up a lot over the past you know over the past few weeks but he does have a no trade clause um I personally don't think that the Mariners would want to break up the the starting pitching that they have right now personally I I don't think I mean yes you'll be able to offload some money with that depending I just don't know what like there there's a lot of nuance to it because I don't again I would agree with terapart the clubhouse like Jimmy said I think that um by doing so you're tearing up the starting rotation and I just also don't know like who is looking for a starting pitcher right now that is also willing to trade a bat for that kind of salary so I don't know it's just like there's a lot of nuance to it and I think that you're probably better off trading from the farm system this offseason um then you are trading from like the starting rotation but yeah there's a there's a lot of a a lot of nuance to it that I think that we'll have to discuss once we uh have a little bit more of a of an idea Joe maybe we'll have to do some research sure I I think Felipe is like kind of like gonna bridge the gap in that conversation like will Emerson Hancock ever make like will he ever be a like starter for this team I think Hancock's a very easy guy that you can trade there's Jeff's Super Chat on screen you can also trade Logan Evans you could trade Brandon Garcia there's a bunch of guys in dable a which is the last pitching St for Mariners pitching prospects typically that maybe they're not as they're obviously not as Bonafide as any of the guys in the major leagues right but if teams are willing to then take them and work on development for them if say they maybe don't want to compete or they don't feel like they're going to be competing next year or they feel like they could be a second half surge kind of a player like Logan Evans could start I'd say games in the big leagues next year and if not at the beginning of the year definitely in the second half do I want to see the Mariners trade him no because they they've developed him incredibly well almost too well it's shocking how well he has pitched given his like I guess history coming out of the draft and like everything right and he's definitely been like pliable in terms of like maybe moving him to the the bullpen and then moving him back to the rotation like he has not missed a beat there what I like if I'm looking at pitchers to trade this offseason I'd rather trade Emerson Hancock and then give Evans the six spot essentially is what I would do yeah and aaria makes a great Point as well he's a perfect backup starter for this team Hancock is good enough to be the number six he's good enough to be the number five in a lot of rotations um literally he's literally Kyle Gibson which is a great pitcher like don't get me wrong Kyle Gibson's a great was a great pitcher I think that overall if you do decide to trade like Emerson hanock or Logan Evans either one in my opinion this offseason as long as you keep one of them you're all right and then if you're able to add you know make some signings so that's the thing is no hitter is going to want to come here in the offseason but I guarantee a lot of pitchers will be willing to pick up that phone if the Seattle Mariners called and I think because of that if you do go out there and trade one of Evans or Hancock you're able to replace them relatively easily on that free agent market and I think that that's something the Mayers might look to do n I'm just like if if you're wanting Hancock to be in the rotation who is is like why would you H I guess my question is like you're trading obviously then one of the starters currently existing between Gilbert Kirby Castillo woo Miller and then bringing in Hancock who sure he's fine I don't think he's better than any of those guys and I don't think he's going to really be close necessarily I don't think he's got the upside to be like that good if we're comparing him to Kyle Gibson Kyle Gibson's best stretch was I'd say his best overall year 2021 where he had a 371 ER maybe 2018 where he had a 362 over you know 180 to 190 innings in each year it's not terrible like in terms of RA plus if we want to go to that stat it's 117 for 2021 118 for 2018 those are like his Peaks if that's a peak for erson Hancock that's great I just don't know if he's like necessarily going to reach that and I would rather just keep wo Miller and somehow create a package out of Emerson Hancock and like say another Prospect or a the mar are going to trade Dom canzone this offseason probably like there's there's just not room for him on this team going forward at least for the next two years I would would not be surprised if Hancock and Dom kzone are traded together in something to get another Major League piece back somehow someway right like there's there's a lot of moving parts and I wouldn't be surprised if that move happens maybe not like together they could be traded separately I don't know but I I that's something that I wouldn't be surprised like could could a trade of canzone and Hancock get you like Ryan Mount Castle and oh God I don't know I don't I can't think of another person off the top of my head right now but Ryan Mount Castle plus like I think so I think so I don't see why not you could also like add to it to like try and make it more lucrative who's going to trade for Dom canzone I think there's teams that can look at Dom kzone and see what he did in the minor league see what he was able to accomplish being one of the better hitters in all of Triple A for basically a calendar year in 2022 and in 2023 and see like untapped potential and turn him into a better Major League hitter maybe it's just not working out with Seattle maybe the swing and Miss maybe the swing path the swing pattern the like pitch selection it's just not there with Seattle we've seen guys get traded that were with Seattle and then immediately turn around I would not be surprised if Dom kenzo's a guy like that yeah would be surprised at all and I'd be happy for the guy I love Dom kzone yeah uh 499 from JP are you the JP cheers fellas that is all I feel like I ask you that every single time you super chat but cheers bro Cheers Cheers appreciate the appreciate the Fiverr somebody I saw someone TW uh ask it earlier and I missed who it was they said um is Jorge palano on this team next year in my opinion yes yeah I think in my opinion he is I think they do need to do their due diligence and go out there and see if there are options for like a a different second baseman but what you've gotten from Jorge palano over the past month maybe two months is exactly what he has been his entire career it's pretty easy to see that that is the player he is not the player he was for the first couple months like that part I think is very very clear Jeff with a a crazy idea let's move our Outfield walls in 20 feet problem solved let's hope the Mariners pitchers can keep the ball in the yard at that point then yeah so that that's interesting Jeff because they have actually moved the walls in once already that has happened before and I think that it's not a terrible idea someone also asked um is there actually anything wrong with the Mariners batters ey yes like it it is at an angle it's angled like the the the wrong way not wrong way but it's at the angle that it's at makes certain parts of the batter's eye be further away than the front of it so it's just there there are certain things with the batter's eye that are wrong moving the fences in is an option Joe and I have talked a little bit about this and that is that the the Mariners pitching staff can probably overcome that but if if they do do something to affect the hitting it's going to affect the hitting against the Mariners too it's just the way it is yeah Houston did score that is true yeah one nothing Victor guarante um to continue with Jorge palano you're saying well let's just we looked at hanar first and second half splits Panos are even crazier okay in half of the at bats we'll say right he had 213 at bats in the first half second half he's had 104 is first half Ops jeez Ops is the barometer here 566 below 600 Ops is terrible horrible in the second half it is 887 it has jumped up 300 points in the second half he's slashing 269 358 529 his batting average was almost in the second half is almost higher than his on base and slugging from the first half his op was 285 his slugging was 282 he's currently batting 269 in the second half yeah he has the highest OPS among all second basem in the second half I'm pretty sure damn yeah that's the guy you acquired just learn how to hit it's so easy chat just learn how to hit um hitting a baseball is actually one of the hardest things to do in the um common human world um um actually um actually someone someone who was it that asked about the it was Conor look at the Mar's remaining schedule compared with the Astros does it make me crazy that it gives me hope no I think that there I think there's a very valid reason to have some hope for this team because moving forward they do have the easier schedule it's just the way it is and the Mariners if they can get within three games of them they have their Destiny in their own hands when they face the Astros later on in this season so I think that I think that there is a realistic possibility the Mariners come out of that series with the Astros in first place you just have to hope that what we expect out of the teams playing the Astros like the higher caliber teams like the Red Sox did their job the Orioles currently aren't they're losing one nothing but they've won two out of the three so far right the Orioles yep I think they yeah and then this is game four game four so they they they will have split if the Astros win they're then playing the Phillies they're playing the Royals they've got the Diamondbacks who've been the best offensive baseball like there's definitely a a way to the postseason especially with those three games as the second to last year series in the in the season but you know the Mayers have to continue to win they just have to continue to keep winning series go back to that winning way that you did back in May right somehow if Dan Wilson brings you back to that uh that's great unfortunately it is now three nothing Astros so Dean Kramer um I'm I'm begging glad I didn't pick him up in fantasy you know who I did pick up though who'd you pick up buddy Justin Vander all right guys that's going to be the end of this that's GNA do it um o can still come back oh absolutely they've had some crazy comebacks recently do we keep more and Roos for next season man man even after today you're not on the Dylan Moore train huh they're doing the they're doing the this who is the Astros like oh because of denzo like come on maybe that's their stick is just taking things like like like how they they they've started calling Josh hater the fireman there was an article on I think posted by like fangraphs like a while back like way before anything that called him the fireman but like that's not been a common nickname for him I don't think ever according to someone on Twitter they've been calling him that since the very beginning of the season and I said man if he was the fireman at the start of the season a lot of people died in fires so Jesus um I think Dylan Moore will be on the team next year he's he signed through he's a free agent in 2026 so yeah I think both them will be on the team next year um would we have a top rotation in the league if we somehow kept developing USI into into this rotation despite his 2021 struggles and being an Allstar with I mean everyone in this rotation is better than um is better than you Kikuchi full stop yeah I mean in Toronto his best year was 2023 like pretty safely it like that's just been his best year of his career he's putting up great numbers in Houston so far but on the year in 2024 with Toronto like not not very good could we have developed and made him into something like that sure and then you could have traded one of the guys in your rotation right now but I would rather have kept and like you then you'd have to pay Kikuchi as well like what what is the substitution in that situation like do you not trade for Luis Castillo at that deadline do you make a different move at that point and like your rotation is you say Kikuchi if he's developed well enough in 2022 because like he he was a free agent like you didn't resign him like that money wouldn't have been I don't know it's it's a weird it's a weird I guess conversation I think could we have made him better as time went on sure sure but I would I wouldn't have like guaranteed it we crash again yes Stop opening things never no more stats for you young man you're you're you're you're in timeout for stats shame you're in timeout I think it might be actually chocked because it's fluctuating crazy we're back I'm banned from stats just hit refresh I'm banned from stats ah forhead yeah I am Boe head Hagerty gone yeah Hager will be gone in my opinion he's he's Hagerty will become a fras after this year he's provided nothing for the past couple of years and yeah like like Ian said um going into arbitration yeah so nothing you heard me how do you get banned from stats because he kept pulling them up and it kept making the stream freeze have you seen what oh wait never mind that's James I'm not reading it um sounds good Greg you sound like a like a nice nice dude you sound fat Greg um we need to pull a Canó and somehow convince the Mets to take Garver and hanar package with canzone damn that go crazy the the the Orioles just turned a double play when they already had two outs nice the best team ever yeah yeah Jordan saw it let's go um let's see we put France a timeout yeah I'm just sad about my my stats I like looking at Stats don't no more looking at stats that's for you young man I just want to keep looking no no have we seen what France has done in Cincy Winker I'm reading James I'm reading Jimmy's chat yeah Winker Winker hit a walk-off Grand Slam and probably pissed off the entirety of like the other 29 M Mo teams with the celebration I thought it was fine no it was fine the other the opposing team I'm you know it is what it is France and Cincy I mean hey it's it's the Great American small Park baby homers in two two of the homers were in Lone Depot Park okay so stats yeah that's what I'm looking up exactly Jordan Jordan gets it yeah I mean good good for Tai man good for him I mean Jesse Winker was terrible all of last year so you dog so I mean there there you go there there's his moving on for the Mariners he went to the Brewers was terrible at the end like Jesse Winker if anything maybe got healthy yeah no longer was dealing with whatever ailments and then had a great start with Washington on a prove it deal and then is now on a contender with the Mets that's great for him yeah that was never gonna happen in Seattle nope um I saw somebody say how long do you have this uh rotation for I would assume you keep it through 2026 like because I believe every single guy has at least under contract through 26 I think the first one up out would probably be um um Luis right he's he's the one on the shortest deal I can't look up anything yeah yeah I'll look up I'll look it up I imagine it's like the the order you'd expect Castillo then Gilbert then Kirby then Miller then woo but like Miller and W are probably the same year I feel like Gilbert's probably 2027 if I had to guess B tr's load loading really slow hold on shot imagine my shock trust me I know I loaded some some pages earlier looking at Robbie Ray's player opt out and it potentially crashed the stream allegedly allegedly allegedly crashed the stream it was really on only fat.com exactly exactly while that loads U from the rotation who will resign here I would be willing to bet that Logan Gilbert would I would be willing to bet that I don't think George Kirby would not to say anything bad about kier's relationship with Seattle I just I I would be surprised I'll just say it like that yep I would be a lot less shocked yeah like you said if Gilbert resigned Kirby I don't think he's staying here I I think that he K Kirby has a bit of an attitude we know this I think wrong with that he's got his sight set on bigger things he's got a sight set on New York yeah which is reasonable dude's from New York like if Logan Gilbert say signs an extension whatever and then leaves in his like last two years of his career and goes and pitches in Florida for like Miami or for Tampa like I wouldn't be surprised like people that that that's sometimes a factor into what people want to do in their career if Cal gets extended but then in his last year or something goes and plays in Boston again I wouldn't be surprised like there's there's going to be situations like that that just happened because of player aspirations sometimes it doesn't and that's great but I I'm not going to be shocked if stuff DS so um Luis Castillo is signed through 2028 um he has oh he has a vesting option through 28 um so they would have at least him if they or they would have him at least through 2027 the vesting option uh vest with 180 80 Innings pi pitched in 27 he has a full no trade clause through next year um if he misses 130 days in 2025 through 2027 due to a UCL injury this becomes a $5 million team option his vested option so that's interesting they did a ve they had a very similar contract clause with uh Felix back in the day um let's see Logan obviously he's an arbitration right now he was a super two guy uh his last year of arbitration will be 2027 so they would have him through 2027 um yep Kirby's probably 28 Miller and woo 29 George Kirby is 2028 also a super two guy yep um arbitration four in 2028 at the age of 30 the only thing I would be interested with in Brian woo if he made enough starts last year to so maybe he's 203 a year of service time maybe he probably did anyway spot track's load and slow continue Miller and woo leave too I don't think so Felipe I feel like these guys are gonna get sick of losing two to one real quick yeah woo probably go some pitches like like San Francisco at some point or something but maybe I don't know yeah you just talked right over me hello he can't hear me chat this is so funny Joseph oh it's chocked it's so chocked oh it's so chocked it's so chocked it's dead bro it's got to be dead b r this is so funny I have no idea if anyone can hear me can you guys hear me I think you can hear hear me but I don't think you can hear Colton or like Colton can't hear me and we can hear both of you that's what I thought like everything looked fine on mine I think his computer died oh this is so funny look at him over there look at him what an idiot dumbass oh God this is hilarious well I think I think this is a fair time to potentially end the stream just because there's some technical difficulties currently happening uh Colton is frozen Colton yeah now I crashed so I think we're just gonna We we'll call it there we've been live for a while and now he's [Laughter] gone oh that's actually amazing but yeah I'm G to we're going to call it I appreciate everyone hanging out um in short term like to to be concise I think Gilbert gets a contract extension I think Kirby would leave I think Miller probably wants to could could want to stay here I think there's a lot of good vibes and woo could probably I I wouldn't be surprised to see him on his way out at some point but um Colton's called me back Colton I'm ending stream unless you want to do you want to say something are you do you want to say something to them I'm ending stream hey guys hey guys [ __ ] bow track and with that we appreciate you guys hanging out and we'll see you next Sunday
