Zachary Reese described three round war as ‘Waffle House fight’

list a little bit Zach how you feeling I'm feeling good man a little disappointed uh you know I hope the fight was good I hope everyone enjoyed it but you know that was kind of one of those Waffle House fights I feel like and uh yeah I wanted to come in here and be patient and try to pick him apart but you know I hurt Jose with a lot of stuff dude he has a chin and a half and he must not have a liver dude because I kicked the [ __ ] out of his liver and he took it so yeah there was like three of those kicks where he was like looked like he was he was going to just kept kept surviving yeah just yeah dude's strongest deliver in the UFC for sure you know now that you've had some a little bit of time to like reflect on it overall what you're you know you say you're you're disappointed but was there things in there that you liked yeah I'm grateful I got 15 minutes and you know I have to rewatch the fight and kind of see how it went and up the fans enjoyed it you know I was trying to knock him out you know take him out but uh yeah he's just tough man so I'll have to rewatch it to get a real uh a real diagnosis on it you've never been out of the first round in in your professional career um you know obviously you're known for your finishes you like to get finishes but is there you know some relief in there that you went 15 minutes and maybe people you can shut people up think like well he has no cardio he's only been out never been out the first round yeah so I had my wrestling heart rate down to like 39 39 beats a minute this week um but you know I really didn't feel that grafter weigh-ins uh had some stuff like of not agree with my stomach and then even in the warm up in the back I was feeling kind of sluggish like my legs were getting full like you know no excuse or anything but uh yeah you know I I know I can go 15 minutes I know I'm tough and I know I train super hard so yeah there's definitely a silver lining to it what was the game plan coming into the fight because obviously we've all seen Jose's fight on series he got Russell Russell [ __ ] and just got beat up for for three rounds right so like were you coming in there you knew how tough he was so like what was the game plan coming in yeah the game plan was coming here and uh just meet fire with fire dude I thought you know I could crack his coconut man uh you know he fought a big rushan dude and that dude couldn't put him away but um yeah I I went in there and I knew I knew that this fight was going to go two ways I was either going to knock him out quick or it was going to be a dog fight and uh it was it was a good old fashioned dog fight how' it feel coming back to the Apex it felt good it's a little creepy man I kind of like the crowd I'm not going to lie boys Louisville was my kind of people 20,000 uh WWE UFC fans so yeah no I would if I had my choice I'd like to fight in front of the fans when when would you like your return uh I think December UFC's coming to Tampa Florida so that's cool man uh like to take the kids to Disney World after the fight so awesome and um obviously Fury FC is blowing up you got Michael aswell coming on on the show next week just can you talk about you know being being an ex Fury Fury fighter and just the success they're having yeah man I'm super super proud to come out of Fury out of Houston Texas uh I think it's the best Regional show in the United States man and if you guys want to see that next crop of UFC fighters uh it's it's it's a great great thing to tune into on UFC fight pass on Sundays and with the UFC kind of going back on the road next year are you you hoping to fight in Texas next year you know it man come on now come on now yeul 100% awesome congrats thank you brother awesome performance um we we all had the same thought process like what do you have to do to this guy to get him out of there but I'm curi what was the talks in between rounds with your team to where you're like okay man don't get careless don't give him the openings do your thing be a professional yeah yeah 100% uh you know my coaches were telling me just chill out you know I kind of went into drywall mode man where I was just like you know here in Nickelback I mean Lincoln Park in my head and I was just kind of going for it you know uh but now they were just telling me chill out fight smart and stuff and uh you know just kind of pick my shots more and and you know just be a little little smarter it's not not my strongest attribute though for sure it was a hell of a fight um and we got 15 minutes of it you did this uh um like a submission attempt which helped you kind of like just push his hips out the way spraw back up it it happened like lightning fast what was that and is it something that you trained for or you were like n I'm I'm going try to get him like this and he's going to fall for it um if I remember correctly it was a ninja choke so uh yeah I was Tred to hit the little ninja choke but I really didn't didn't have it fully locked in but used it to sweep him so yeah I'll take it absolutely did you hear him at all in there just say like you know like his his face he had a poker face for sure but you must have heard him just you know about to fold or did you think I got you I got you I got you and like damn this dude just cannot break yeah we we were chatting a little bit back and forth but he was chatting to me and I was like KO esta Amigo I don't speak Spanish so I didn't really understand if it was Spanish or Portuguese or anything but no he told me after the fight he's like I'm a Savage too I was like yeah bro 100% and you walk away with that win no question it was going to be unanimous but it has to feel good right like I can give you guys 15 minutes don't call me no onetick pony put respect of my name I can go 15 yeah 100% man uh I'm definitely not a onetick pony I'm a one onetick Mustang you know what I'm saying I'm coming for the Finish every time but yeah no it's it's cool man I'll I'll take it it is congrats on the win awesome fight thank you so much what's the plan with the hair man I'm going to keep growing it out till I get hair plugs and then I'm going to I'm going to get the bee hairline man I want my hairline like right down here uh so we're going to keep hanging on to that mullet you know it's funny everyone calls me Jake Paul and it's starting to look more and
