C welcome to the latest episode of the fillers in devotion podcast we have ree we have Tim we have Andrew kilpin and by myself Andrew palard or palard as it seems to be the name going around today um obviously looking back at a a fantastic performance at the weekend but first of all shout out to our sponsors the fatb great work that they do there go and get some drinks go get some food go and pay them all a visit the various Outlets under the fatb group newsletter Mr Gilpin have you got the The Flash up no no we'll skip over it there is a fantastic newsletter Please Subscribe don't make Andy any more Angry than he already is uh there is the phison devotion live for Tim would you like to give us some details on that yeah it's um Friday the 24th of January so I know it's like a fair fair way away but we're already selling we already sold more than half of what the capacity of the M screen hold holds 10 qu of ticket loads of good guests usual stuff um so yeah day before the Birmingham game just to get everybody in the mood for that so please go to the m Hall website and buy a ticket if you have yet to do so because it will sell out thank you yes and that is a massive game a highlight of the the season there that Birmingham game one of those games where as soon as the fixures came out everybody was highlighting it I think by the time that the season's over there could be a lot of people looking back on this past weekend rexam three reading nil uh just a fantastic performance across the board I thought everybody played really well some better than others but everybody had a very very strong base level and it was just it was almost like felt like we put a marker down um ree you you were at this game so go to you first on this one your thoughts coming out that one yeah it was great um fantastic atmosphere yeah first game for me first home game in particular in a while um and what a game to go to I mean we were absolutely dominant um possibly our best performance under Parky I'm sure everyone's going to say it it's certainly up there um I know this is ironic because they hit the post twice but other than that didn't even look like scoring and you know that one of those was when the game was totally dead and there was a they over each other two Defenders um I mean it every time they had like the ghost of an opening it was totally shut down the defensive um effort was fantastic uh in attack as well I mean the the counterattacking was amazing and I mean the stats are mental I can't we only had 33% possession which is insane and just goes to show how comfortable the team is without the ball uh and how confident they are in their in in in our defensive just yeah it was class loved it loved every second of it yeah it was one of those where at the game you kind of obviously watching it there in the flesh it's like we've not really got all that much possession but we it was it was never the team wer panicking it was very very much clearly a plan there and and readin knocked it about there was some very tidy footballers there they they played some nice football just not necessarily um effective football and that was obviously a lot bit was down to he was thought um OK conell at the back was fantastic Ryan Barnet though some I think we should talk about the the first off in particular I thought on that right side just um abs abely fantastic the balls he was putting in he had the left back on toast uh Tim how do you you think that was one of Barney's best games for a while I mean Wickam he he played really well I thought the first game of the season but that was just another level again at the weekend yeah I mean he's shown that he can he can make the great isn't he you know that's that's the beauty of it I think somebody pointed out um yesterday or today on on X that I think eight of those players in that starting lineup yesterday were in the National League so it kind of gives you a clear idea of of of the foundation the base that that the owners and Parky was were trying to put into place as early as that stage so but Barney's been great there there was a few raised eyes eyebrows when the team Sheet came out because everybody's like oh we want to see ravan Ren however you want to say it want to see him the squad because he's electric blah blah blah but Parky is more than justified in putting uh Barney back in there because he was just great he's he's calm he knows he's got the pace to burn to to get that extra couple yards away from his marker once he's done that he can he can he he's got the time to pick out his man and if you watch it he had that over and over again they give him way too much space and he was just just laser guiding the balls to first to Ry Palmer every time just danger ball after danger ball and fully Justified um his selection and um we're we're fortunate that you know the depth is already on on there for everybody to to see in abundance what we've got you know a couple of really solid players vying for that position but theight for Bary because he works really really hard and um defensively he's a lot better than than what he was last season as well I think yeah that that was one of the points I was going to touch on them was because it's one thing where he's beating plays and he's putting in some great balls and get to the by line but I thought defensively he superb is tracking back he is's winning of the ball his retention of the ball in tight areas in essentially the right back position I thought he was just um fantastic I believe you you predicted the correct score line as well Tim yeah yeah I was happy about that I forgot until sudden you reminded me because of before the match it's like H yeah I wouldn't mind the draw I don't know where that mindset came from because obviously last week I said oh yeah 3-0 just there's no way that was a serious prediction I'm sorry it was it was a serious prediction Gilpin shouted me down he's like no I was like No it's it's going to happen and yeah you know have a bit more faith everybody should have a bit more faith in this team and this management team because the home record is ridiculous Ren has scored an awful lot of goals in consecutive games that was the first time they've had a shut out in a long long time so as much as they going through the rigar rolls of a takeover and using Academy players you can only beat what's in front of you and we did that convincingly yeah it was uh it was it just solid all across the board I I did also predict 3-0 but the kind of caveat there is I predict three-nil every game so this is the one time in the season where it's like yes got it right and guz Lloyd it's it's on video he recorded it in the mice win I said three nil I'm sticking to it um Andy um what Paul obviously Paul Mullen came on for what the last 20 minutes came on about the 70th minute I believe it was Jack Marriott's been in for for the the first three League games of the season has worked his socks off scored what could well be the goal of the season um already when do you think that the trigger gets pulled on mes is it the next game is Peter BR does he come in what's it mean for Jack marot are we thinking you wait a bit more for mes build him up and yeah yeah sorry you're right I am in a bad mood uh I'm in a bad mood because my whole computer array just left me just before this meeting uh also sad divorce mate meeting God some skin cream so that's why my eyes are all puffy I didn't want to say anything I'm glad I'm glad be honest I'm glad there's an explanation for your there's someone will mention it on the comments anyway so I just thought I'd get it out there I've had a l reaction I look like [ __ ] I haven't had any sleep my computer's [ __ ] um right what are you talking about Mullen uh yes Mullin marot yeah so marot I just don't think anything really came off for him yesterday and that's not through her a lack of effort he has puts a lot of effort in I just think that maybe like the ball bounces off him a little bit and and things like that and maybe Mullen is just he just occupies that that Center half a little bit more than Mariott does I think Marriott's looking for sort of like flick on where where Mullen can more or less do it on his own I don't think he starts against Peter BR I think marot starts I think going back to his old Club as well um I think that's like a factor but I I can see more and more minutes from Mullen so he might he might get half an hour on Saturday and then you're sort of looking right when can we start him he looked bright when he came on he ran down everything there's one thing when he nearly nearly robbed the keeper um can I just say about Dobson doson fantastic I just thought he was fantast by by Far Man of the match um um and it just shows oh ree is scratching his head like Stan Laurel you know you don't think he was man of the match yes I did I don't know what the sponsors were on about mlan had a good mat but yeah Dobson was you think they just wanted to make meet mlan because that used to happen quite a bit didn't yes yes but Dobson was fantastic I just think you know he makes that Midfield three hunting packs he sort of controls them he he talks to them and I thought the whole unit had a bit of everything I thought it was also Lee's best game for for quite a while I thought he was I thought he was fantastic as well so I'm really pleased at the Midfield three are really working as a unit because there's three other people waiting in the wings you know didn't even make the bench is he injured I think he's probably injured isn't he he must be otherwise um but you know he didn't even make the bench he's our record signing you know Parky does like to keep people on the bench for a little bit and bring them in and I just think if you've got you've got the Spectre of that for the Midfield three that are already in they're going to work extra hard to keep their places and it's just such a lovely sort of balance to have at the moment isn't it all right I'm in a better mood now there we go there the angry the angry panda is no more I think we doson as well one the thing and just the the fact that wrath Bone's there uh I think Rathbone in particular because if you're coming in as as a club's record signing you're not going to be expecting to be starting on the bench uh once you get settled at the club and I think it's really raised Andy Cannon's game that I thought he was superb at the weekend uh Dobson you said was superb OK Connell at the back Arthur there was one really really good save uh and just such a calm cool presence there was so many stars of the show but I think possibly the star of the show was James mcclean's second half shirt a long sleev shirt which feels like a while since we've seen one of those especially on sale Tim's eyes are going as the the the the well the the resident shirt connoisseur as well yeah there's a reason I'm wearing this this is our last ever long sleeve shirt that rexon made M long really jeez man yeah it's been a while I think this is 2018 I want to say um so yeah I had to beg I had to beg uh Jeff Scott to do long sleeve versions I sort of went all proper British like you know do you know how cold it is in the winter months I need long Lee option so so they they did a run of them um I really hope they do because some people just love Longs Le I just think I just think that shirt looks class with it with the white cuffs and stuff and apparently um yeah that's probably why the shirts the the the m match award went to him because he thought I am getting my hands on that rare as rocking hor long sleeve mlan shirt um so yeah if if you are the match sponsor and it doesn't suit you getting tou you know where to find us um happy days but yeah I was wearing a long sleeve shirt yesterday I think it was the Pras Pras glind D is that 2015 2016 that was 2013 oh thank you it first with the round neck it's a vneck one round neck yeah um that was a mistake because it was bacon it was yeah I wore a long sleeve yesterday just to meet super super GL um because i' worn it the previous time I met him for some bizarre reason there we are so yeah more long sleeve shirts and football yeah I wore a sweater like total idiot on Saturday because it was pissing down when I left the house this this rain's Grim by the time I got to the m win it's like no this is really warm now and I'm just in a a jumper Mickey Thomas jumper orbe it but still a jumper nonetheless um right Oly Palmer take advice from Step Fletcher o over coffee what what do we make of that it's I mean it's sensible it's I mean stepen flet again came on just looks like just he's just Glides just like the gliding Samurai just across the water just a an absolute beautiful specimen of a man he's just so calm and composed so if you're oie Palmer you think that yes that's somebody you want to be learning from especially mildly similar styles of play not not totally the same I I I liked it because Ole Palmer self-confessed bit of a knob by his own admission if you compare it to the likability of a lot of the other players however he did say postmatch um that he said oh he said you're never too old to learn which I kind of like that I kind of like that there is still an element of humbleness throughout everybody in that Squad it's what Pary what Parky keeps saying about keeping him grounded just he went for a coffee with Fletch and Fletch was saying oh maybe try this in your movement so I thought well I'll watch that I watch the goal back and is is kind of noticeable he just just holds off briefly just gives himself that yard to get the spring and and get the jump on his man so little things little things and delighted delighted to do explain the celebration because he seems to run away from his teammates and go straight to feter that the reason behind it that's what the Mozza or somebody asked the question after so it just typifies and amplifies what Parky has gone on record and keeps saying it and it's what I find really enamoring about the entire Squad is that they all are in it together he he says it all the time so the people that are not even knocking on the door are still the the you know the club's biggest cheerleaders and to have that Vibe amongst it is one less thing for Parky to worry about about whether he's upsetting somebody who can't get onto onto the team Sheet who's a club record signing so to have that that good Feelgood Factor around the place is is is integral to to how our season started yeah in terms of little details there's one t the most minutest of things in it might even have been in in uh injury time it was at the end of the game they put a ball into the box and it went it just went out for a call sorry for a goal kick and it was just the ball comes over Max clear by a man and he just gives him the slightest nud is that just takes him away from the flight the ball and it was just like the smallest thing it's like just so Savvy oh no Conor gives him a big slap on the ass and and at a boy and and they have like a little moment together just again that's the the max clear of just again it just this is someone that's going to go um to special places hopefully hopefully with us um speaking to people that might be with us or might not be with us uh Friday's deadline are we this is like the obligatory are we going to get a striker chat I believe but but also who do we imagine could be on the way out of the club by well by by the time the the peer game rolls around on Saturday well I mean where' you begin there's plenty I think Billy Waters is is the obvious candidate that people mention um potentially James Jon potentially Anthony Ford Jones interesting well maybe maybe not I think 40 probably Dolby likely staff likely um so yeah you know it's it's there's there's definitely interest in amongst those players b accounts so you know and then just a case of who we who we get in really um if we don't sign a striker I think Dolby stays though doesn't he oh definitely definitely and I think mulling coming back has sort of slightly even from last week downplayed the need for a striker but I I never thought it was the mulling role that we were looking at I've always thought it was the other starting center forward now Ole has started well but when the games come two two you know when you get two per week it's hard for him to yeah to to to um sort of keep that going so I still think he's looking for for an all action Movement Center forward to evolve the team once once once once again so uh another forward possibly coming in on the cusp of having a not quite fully fit but soon to be fully fit Paul Mullen there's there's options there um I mean again it's that that element we've already mentioned about how the the squad is there that the terms of the the mood amongst the squad everybody even not on the team are pulling for it so it is Parky's done a very good job I think of identifying the right characters because with what we bring with us these days in terms of the platform at rexim the finances at rexim you're going to get a lot of people who just want to come to us because well I get to be on a NF not Netflix Jesus and one of those random people car fans get to be on a on a Hulu on a Disney plus documentary uh and I get to be paid lots of money for this but I might not really be too AR if out the team then who cares I might dig out some of my my my my teammates but it's I mean it's it's an interesting one uh because I mean adley Ford you mentioned there we've we've got lots of options all over the place we've got at least two players the fact that Barney was so good on on the right at the weekend that ravan played there or ran we we will get there at some point with this guy's name I'm sure by the time the season is over we will get there no no it's not happening rev Revan was the uh was the call on uh in the cop anyway everyone was saying Revan right that's that's all right me I think that that's okay with me um right are we we about done with potential ins and outs because we do have a guest and they may be ready he can help us he can help us he might have a good knowledge about about uh about who we should go for I'm going to admit him what could possibly go wrong I hope he's a dermatologist what did you have an allergic reaction to yeah fans it's it was skin cream with retinol in is it anti-aging skin cream yeah don't put it you on the soft skin around you you you blow your eyes that's the uh I really wonder where you going then isn't it like the tea tree shower gel was like no isn't that supposed to be where it goes though under the eyes um I think it's more for like lines in the rest face yeah not not really that just get BOTOX mate keep keep the talk about Andy skincare regime going because Charlie's Got audio problems he said it'll be one minute so let's let's find let's find out more about skare regime is it tell we could do let quickly who what are the rumors who have we who have we he Brad Shaw still I thought you know you hear Bradshaw staying in the HK Lodge and then he's not and then he's going to charland and he isn't but Brad's are sort of loud that they are looking at but he's still 32 I do think they might if they can get someone a little bit younger who you can have a few years with uh well Bradshaw you're gonna get two really aren't you so I guess we've been talking about possible low moves the last couple of weeks I guess with Mullen being back now again that kind of seems to rule out you think a low move is it really worth it with that or is it a case of going permanent but then if you're getting a decent loan player in they have to play they have to play some some part otherwise what is the point you know you don't want to say to a big Club all right lone is your players uh we won't play them um that's just that's why it's so much easier with a keeper because you know you can say he'll be our keeper season guaranteed pretty much yeah yeah whilst we wait for Charlie to join us from the up the podcast pod he's here he's here there you go if by Magic can you hear us I can I think it's all now happy days all right mate thanks for joining us no worries first of all tell us a bit about the the podcast how long you've been going for ETC we obviously know it's all about pach United but just give us a bit of a backstory to to you guys yeah so we've been um we started up in the summer so we we're all people that have done sort of podcasts and stuff before you know what one of us was in a podcast before that then shut down um I do a fan Channel with Posh as well and then there's people that host the Twitter spaces and so all sort of different type of content creators to do with Posh and we all thought we'd band together and make make a podcast because there was a bit of a void um for for a really good petb United podcast so yeah we appeared and then it's been going well well since granted not very long but we're hoping it will it will carry on for quite a while happy so essentially the Avengers of Peter BR yes exactly that I feel like actually maybe I shouldn't say that because I don't think Posh fans would would like that sounds a bit egotistical but yeah yeah we we think we've got a good lineup together yeah um I mean we can't not talk about Darren fsen what four times in charge or is he up to 12 times in charge now but re Rex and Legend sat and reappointed in the last 10 minutes yeah I mean he's he's very excited for the game as you can expect you know he keeps mentioning it in interviews um obviously we we know how much of a how big of a legend he is for you and he's equally as big of one for us as a as a manager um there's just we've never been able to find anyone um in the sort of Darren mcanthony Peter United era who suits the club as Darren Ferguson he has a play style which is really attractive to watch which is something that Posh fans need um and yeah he's just he's the perfect manager to take to take our club forward and we hope that he stays for for as long as as long as he can and if he leaves and then becomes available again you best bet we'll all be clamoring for to come back again is it that thing with pet that every time somebody does get sacked or leaves terms of manager is it like well it's gonna get me Fergie back Ferg going be back yeah I mean we at least what okay what's he up to you know is he available is he taking a break is is he in a job you know he's he is the man um obviously we we've had Grant mccan twice as well now we won't go back there again I can I can assure you of that but um no it he will always always be welcome as the manager of peterb United because he is just that good yeah it seems like by a solid starts I'm sorry Tim no I just find I just find it fascinating in in in a sort of yeah I'm sort of going fast forward now into the future I kind of imagine that would be like a Phil Parkinson kind of thing for rexon that's how it feels at the moment you know I mean to go and he come back I don't know but the kind of the boomerang of Darren Ferguson and Peter bro just you just just not often mimicked in many places is it really I mean I can't think of many other managers that's that's happened to for for one particular Club no well I mean we all think at Peter BR that rexam is going to be the eventual destination for Darren Ferguson when he when he does leave Posh again you know that's sort of a general theory amongst Posh fans that we think you know makes sense he's got his playing allegiances at rexam he'll get he's so when when we were in the championship he left because he's he's a manager that gets very quickly frustrated if he doesn't feel backed you know financially rexam is a place where obviously he'll get that backing so we feel that he will and also your style at the minute is is not the the most attractive in terms of possession and stuff when you eventually want to to move to that style which you know all modern day football clubs do attempt to do at some point I I think Ferguson will be the manager for you because his star's fantastic and so it wouldn't surprise me if Darren Ferguson ended up managing a rexim in a few years time I can't remember I don't know if any of you guys can pitch in but I can't remember if he was ever off with the job to he was overlooked he wanted it didn't he he wanted it they offered it to Brian KY yeah that's what he left straight after didn't he I think I think you know that oh yeah I know it was an error but the thing is like if he'd have taken that job there's no way his dad would have let let him fail in his first job we would have had we would have had a The Pick of the uh lone players I think and I think that would that would have been a that would have been the smart move but you know I I think it was just it came down to the not to say Brian K was a yes man but that was the more obviously with Darren fergon as as Charlie just said there he's got quite high standards and he got a short temper a short patience as we saw as a player he's very demanding and I think the the powers of being time thought this could be a lot of push back from this guy who from making manager if things aren't going well Brian KY maybe not so much so and yeah I think that was why the decision was made on that and obviously Fergie went off as as player manager to Peter bro but at the age of what 34 I think he was uh January 2007 which is crazy to think uh how long ago that was now um yeah so we lost our our captain lost our potential manager and he took Kevin Russell with him as well so it was like oh this is great but we we managed to stay up just about that season anyway Charlie can I just ask about uh Peter bris recruitment policy because it's always been held up as as quite quite quite sort of intive that you sort of go to non league and you sort of buy the cream of the talent and sort of bring it through and there's been a long history of that is that still what the club are doing bring the likes of um I don't know I mean if you go back through the history mle male Smith and then I think uh I think you've had a few since then yeah I mean we we've had you know the most recent successes of that sort of non- League to to top divisions Pathways obviously players like Ronnie Edwards who's just moved on to Southampton um Harrison burrow who's just gone to Sheffield United those were all players that were in our team last season and yeah it's definitely something we're we're continuing to look to do we want to sign young players you know we we want to sign players from non- League we want to recruit from home and we feel that we are as a fat as a fan base and as a club we feel that we are probably the best in the efl at bringing a talent in that maybe has flown under the radar and making them into something um and so you know Barry fry always drops his quip you know join us and you we'll make you a millionaire to young players um and and it's worked many a time so I think our recruitment policy is is really interesting one you know it definitely means that Posh fans have their eyes on you know League 2 and non- League a lot more than potentially other other clubs you know we just signed Chris K clar from the national league who got something like 35 goal contributions for altringham last season so we're still looking to do it we've had a bit of trouble this summer because there's quite a lot of clubs that are trying to not copy us but doing the same thing um and they have more financial resource um you know we might talk later but we I believe rexam you guys beat us to a signing earlier this summer by offering triple the wages to paor Lewis bront who was about to sign for Posh so that was disappointing our owner said that on the um on the on his podcast so yeah it it's it's been a tough summer we've recruited abroad for the first time really this summer but the recruitment process of bringing young players in and developing them is still one that's definitely there how is it having Dar MC Anthony as the owner cuz he seems like um a character should we say you'll see him pop up on all the radio shows on Sky Sports he's always about on Deadline day phoning him from somewhere like Dubai talking about all these deals and stuff um he's he seems like an interesting fell yeah he's absolute Marite you either love him or you hate him you know we've got a group of Posh fans who still boycott to this day because he owns the club and then we've got people like me a lot of the younger generation especially and some um sort of more positive less cynical um fans that that really like him I think listen he's vocal and it's very rare that you get um get to hear from your your sort of chairman every single week and we do that through the podcast he talks quite openly on on talk sport as well he's he's just I'm a fan I think he's great you know he's he's been in Twitter spaces with the fans where literally fans can just go in and ask him questions and he'll take any any of the fans on and he'll he'll try and be open and honest as he can so I'm I'm a big fan of him I think the media presence as long as it's not distracting him from doing his job which it doesn't he's fantastic in terms terms of recruitment and he pays the bills and he's very good I think the media presence is is a bonus for me yeah you said that some fans have boycott the club because of him what because I just know the loose details of him what was the reason for people boycot him because of him is it just because of how outspoken he is in the spotlight he has yeah I think that there were a few there's been a few contentious things you know I don't want to go into anything because there's some legal gray areas over some of the stuff you can and can't talk about in terms of Darren mcanthony but um now I'm interested Charlie yeah now we're go to Google after this is over but but no I think um you know there was the thing with with not refunding season tickets during Co which really um upset fans um there was a thing you know about Barry fry um in the early days um he which is he's another reason why some people don't come Barry fry because he sold you know the ground to to a friend apparently stuff like that um but no I think a lot of it's just just people making up rumors um and I'm quite a big fan of both and I think they're fantastic for the football club so what's the realistic expectation this season for Peter per fans just seventh at the moment had what is it two wins and a and a loss Cas hfield opening day uh is where are you uh realistically thinking you'd like to finish this season well we were told that we were going to be chasing automatic promotion and I have no reason not to believe that opening day was tough but but we we're still playing a really good style we've got young players that we've brought in that are just finding their feet and I think when we get going we're going to be a really really tough team to be I think we're going to score a lot of goals and we look to have strengthen defensively as well we've brought in some massive Center halfes um so yeah I think I think we'll be up there I'd be surprised if we didn't get playoffs and then I do think automatic promotion is possible Charlie you've seen a lot of League one over the years how strong is this league compared to uh compared to previous years because it looks hard to get out yeah it's ridiculous I mean I think when we came down sort of that first season was you know Sheffield Wednesday ipswitch Plymouth um Derby Bolton and we thought okay this is tough this is really tough um and we managed to get playoffs and then we thought last season would be a bit easier and then you know Portsmouth came from nowhere you still have Darby and bolt and strong barnesley were in amongst it and then you had little you know smaller clubs like Lincoln just giving it a pop obviously Oxford went up which nobody saw coming so um but but no this season is so tough because the teams that have come up you know you Stockport Mansfield they're not here to make up the numbers you guys are going to be pushing for for the playoffs especially you know you and Stockport the money you've spent and Stockport recruitment has been very impressive um and then obviously the clubs coming down all have aspirations of going back up Birmingham Cy rotheram and Huddersfield so yeah it's such a tough League this year we we I'm sure it will it will some of the clubs that are currently looking decent will fall away as it gets into sort of September October but right now it's looking really really hard to pick even a top six let alone you're sort of top three or top two I was going to ask you who you who do you think was going to go up I is it to surprise you that Birmingham are picking up points so so quickly I thought it might take a bit of time for them to jail but they seem to have uh found a bit of form after the opening day yeah so when I put past we upset Birmingham fans because we had somebody who said that he thought they'd lose their first two games finish seventh sack their manager by sort of October and it would all be a mess I I wasn't quite as strong as that but yeah I was surprised with how hard they fit the ground running but I don't think this is the tough part of the season for Birmingham I think it's going to be sort of that that Spring Run where they have to win games there's the pressure the weight of playing for such a massive Club on even though they are good players on quite a young Squad of players um it could get re it could get messy for Birmingham if it starts going wrong as well you know that there is optimism with the fan base but sort of the higher you are to begin with the harder you fool when it when it's not going well and there will be some times where it doesn't go well so yeah I'm I'm cautiously optimistic about Birmingham I think they'll be do well but also there there are a lot of stumbling blocks for them this season and Char just last one from me what what is your view on Jack marott who I know is quite a quite a quite star for you um he's been in and out he started a few games he scored a wonderful goal the first goal of the season first game of the season um but I still think he's struggling a little bit how can you get the best out of a player like Jack Marriott um just play him a lot you know when when when he had his sort of great season for us he was just playing week in week out and when he finds the net he'll find it consistently for you um he he had a second spell with us which wasn't anywhere near as good as the first we ended up selling him to Fleetwood in January 2023 um and I was surprised when I saw you sign him to to be fair but no at this level if you give him service um he will score goals he knows how to he knows the net he has no problems with sort of like the mental side of the game he he's he doesn't sort of bottle chances I don't think he's really confident um and yeah if you give him the right service um and you partner him with someone you know like your Palmer and Mullins who are a bit bigger more physical he'll be great for you there you go we don't need another Striker no exactly I'm tell you we fir our Strikers I I guess just to not to take too much of your time Charlie but who should we be looking out for on Saturday what who are the danger men these days for for Peter um kuame poku is probably the main one he's a right winger um he's had a lot of Championship interest you know I think we've got bids of up to three and a half four million pounds for him this Summer that we've turned down yeah he he's he's really really good um garan he's got that flare about him um he's he's a really hard worker on the pitch he just cuts inside he has sort of a trademark ball rle that he does which usually sends Defenders absolutely flying onto the floor yeah he he's he's an excellent player and if you don't Mark him very tightly and almost make it a 10v 10 game and just cut him out of it completely you could find yourself in a bit of trouble because he will hurt you well hopefully you accept one of those beards before Friday's deadline and he's not playing Friday that by the sounds of bit he's definitely not going we we we're shock for business in terms of outgoings according to to the management and and ownership staff because we sold a lot of players this summer and it's time for the squad to settle down very fair very fair should we do predictions yeah yeah okay so this is where you're not gonna not gonna like me as much because I've I've got to keep my predictions um consistent across podcasts and on the podcast that we just recorded up the poscast I predicted that Posh would beat Rex in 51 raised everything he just said for the last 20 minut kick him out the chat that's very bold 51 coming across so well until you dropped that that the whiteash cast well there is there there is thought process behind it because rexim rexim are currently your bottom of the league in terms of average possession you you're you're netting you're netting about 36 % possession a game right if you let us have the ball I'm telling you now we will tear you to shreds because we have players that are really good in possession and I know you've got big center backs but that's not how we play we play with small Strikers pressing Strikers Wingers that will getting behind your wing backs I wouldn't surprise me if I saw James mlan get sent off on Saturday because puu is going to cause him a big problem I think I think listen you you've not really been welcomed to League one yet I feel like you've had three relative calm games I think Bolton weren't at it when you played them and you've had two two decent home games and it can't go it can't go on like this you're gonna you're GNA be hit with a bit of a reality check such an Angelic face but the devil inside yeah your true I've got to be consistent with my opinion and and we've sort of we we've sort of gone in Gone in a little bit on the podcast about how we think that that you're going to be beaten on on Saturday and so I've got to carry that opinion forth and if I'm wrong I'm sure you know all all the rexon fans listening will will clip me up and put me everywhere and that's fair enough but I think it's going to be a really really tough game for you on Saturday no weate want to ticket I'm bang up for it now sorry I'm gonna go I'm gonna go six1 reom we haven't really given anyone a hiding in League one yet so I think mle's gonna be man of the match and puu is gonna go be going home crying okay that makes sense yeah um we we'll see how it goes uh right Tim do you want to go next I'm not really going 61 by the way no um I am going to go for a creditable 2 draw oh Tim you steal my thunder that's exactly what I was thinking I'm GNA go I'm gonna go 3-2 win now just to be different 3-2 win go on the town right I was gonna I'm G have to stick with what I originally was gonna say even though I want to say wi I'm sorry U I know the only thing is pet played one game at home so far and they've lost they lost 2-0 um but they've had two very good results away I've just seen as well they spent 2 million pounds this summer so far on transfers unreal um so obviously a tidy side I I I'm inclined to agree uh that we're going to find it difficult I don't necessarily believe it's for the reason suggested just because we are quite comfortable without the ball you know if you'd have watched that game on Saturday against reading um you would not have said that reading with the team that had 66% possession they did next to nothing with it they tried really hard but we shut them out incredibly well um we are with the Warren Gatland if you're a rugby fan with the Warren Gatland side in football comfortably at the ball um but I do think that maybe wake up call comes on Saturday so I'm going to say three1 Posh re re well you the results they've had one of the wins was against shrewbury so that's like a that's a nothing game that 41 and ex are exactly big time so I don't know but no um I I think Charlie fair play to you for for going bold with your stick of your predictions so yeah canot argue with that at all yeah well listen I'm just hoping for a good game I think it'll be a really good atmosphere you know I've seen a few Spanish flags flying about in your in your aend so far this season so that will be sure to rile up a very irritable London row crowd um so yeah it should be a good back and forth should be a good atmosphere uh I hope you guys give Darren Ferguson the reception that he deserves after his playing days for you AB yeah I'm I'm looking forward to the game the peterb fans not like Spanish people no we of course got very we got a lot of Spanish fans sure if there was some hidden story I wasn't aware of that no well I mean let's let's not let's not forget the Euro final that happened just a few months ago um never forget remind us what happened Charlie I forgot yeah you have to remind me I uh I I'm gonna have to go guys I'm sorry V Charlie thank so much for giving it your time it's been um great stuff uh continue the good way with the podcast and um yeah thanks for your time mate thanks for coming on we're going to wrap up our bits and Bobs now so feel free to depart with your 51 wonderful prediction but thanks for coming on mate appreciate it cool thanks thanks for having me on um see you all on Saturday who is going I'm going I'm not going and now I'm gutted because I'm absolutely buzzing for it you want a scrap Charlie's Got Your heckles with he he really has yeah he turn out nicely didn't he bless him lovely fell and then like no 51 get spanked James mcle get sent off like what fell about it is he he was stroking his brass knuckle just out of sight as well is that what he call it these him I don't know what the terms are but um yeah um yeah fair play to at least he's come on and he's stuck to what he said before and he's not been sway just because he's around rexon fans so so yeah more power to him uh right we can't not talk about Darren fer we obviously talked about Darren fer there at Peter BR more important than four times managing Peter B's Rex and Legend Rex some Captain 349 games 34 goals seven and a half years nearly became manager as we we we talked there until we we up there with Brian KY um but there's there's so many great memories when you look back at Fergy's time here whether it's important goals middlesburg the South End um whether it's just the many many assists so many for Andy Morell if in case Mars was listening there was a lot of those came from from uh from Fergie free kicks and and Corners love the scrap when it came to it loved the ball again for anybody that was in in air shot demanded the ball where wherever he was on the pitch would take off the goalkeeper um just to to go around uh I guess start with you Andy uh favorite memories of Dar Ferguson's time at the race course it has to to be has to be the LDV Vans just cuz where we were at the time the fact that the game was s s such a tight game until until um extra time and Fergie a burst of pace I think it was but okay yeah yeah and did he do yeah a celebration the for RO yeah the forward Ro the celebration that's in my head as well because he didn't go like this he went yeah I can see it clear as day loved it loved it yeah um yeah and yeah after the I was covering the game for um was covering the game for for the Del post and I said to him at the end in the press conference said Darren is this your proudest M football and he goes no when I won the league uh and I thought well fair enough but to be honest Darren he only played about six games there really didn't you so uh yeah I think that for me was The Stand Out moment it's the moment I'll when when you say to me Darren Ferguson that goal that game that kit that's Darren Ferguson for me yeah and when you say win the league I've you mean the man united 9293 not the Rex from 2003 where it's like yeah no let's dismiss that um Reese your your your favorite Fergie memories I'm going to be really bored it was the same one I I it was just that was sort of I'm a bit younger than you guys so I don't remember too much before then um but it's uh uh yeah it's it's so ingrained in my memory he looked so he looked kind of surprised that he'd scored and I think we all were because uh from my memory their Defender just totally fell asleep and didn't realize he was behind him and he snuck in in front of him and just got a toe to it it wasn't a particularly uh finessed finish but obviously that was when we could all relax uh at the end of extra time and just sort of properly let loose and um yeah loved it yeah on a on a slightly different scale it was a little bit like the the San V SK against Belgium where it's like it was that relax of like that's it now like yeah San vs was a little bit closer to the end of the the final whistle there but it was that that relief uh Tim yourself and Fergie which sounds like romantic comedy there I think yeah um either the goal against middlesburg in the FA Cup um he was he was awful at goal celebrations in general I mean his forward rolling was the best worst one but he was crap at goal C he just didn't know what to do he just ran off with a big smile on his face um but I think my best one was just because of the the occasion it was when we played wall Soul um when was it let me think it's 2001 we were two-nil down and we won it 3-2 he was in that side and just yeah yeah trundle with the with the winner on on his debut um no it was Fulon with the winner but he scored on his debut and then Russell hit that belter a shot and we won it three 32 in that Double Diamond shiny blue kit um and I just remember Fergie just thought if anybody's gonna get us out of this mess it's going to be him and he's one of those people that you just think yeah leader leader of men you know even then he wasn't the fastest player but his brain was faster than everybody else's so he was always two two two moves ahead of everybody else and that's why he will always be regarded as as a reom legend I just wish um he had a lot more to show for it he had a couple of things to show for it great I think it could have been a bit more for him but yeah it's going to be very very interesting and I've no doubt what Char's just said he probably right you know Fergie will have his teams playing in a certain way with a bit of flare and it'll be a very very interesting proposition on Saturday yeah i' imagine it'll get a very uh good reaction from the away support um myself just to I mean just to Echo the say sentiment you said about Darren Ferg and all of those moments uh there is also the goal against rdale turned out to be his last goal for us where it's Boxing Day 200 2005 and it was dark at this point in my head it was pissing down I was in the cop and he just scores his rifles his 30 yard Vol in and you said about the celebrations team it's just where he just kind of runs and lies down on his back just as in I'm kind of a bit knackered I've ran a little bit I don't really know what to do I'm just going to lie here and take in all the agulation and also when um when the [ __ ] were in charge uh and there was a um yeah Hamilton called him out for his wages and he went and took supposedly anyway went and took an immediate wage cut just to kind of stick it stick it to him a little bit but um yeah great Serv for the club um just top draw player you know what Andrew there's a lot of things that he did behind the scenes that people probably don't know about and I think one of the important things is the link that we did have with his old man got us a lot of players when we really needed it um and I think you you know that that helped us when we were in we when we're when we're in need so you know a lot of things that Fergie did behind the scenes that that are really important to us and you know what I'd love to have him on here and I think he's like the the great sort of whale guest that we we really would like to to get on but I don't think he ever wants to do it and I don't think he needs to no we we'll manifest it it's it's the same thing trying to get to to my squin one day he like that's never going never going to happen we'd love to do it but yeah with Fergie it was the relationship that we had with his old man which started obviously with Brian Flynn becoming friends with Fergie which I believe started because Flynn he just go much man united youth games and got friendly with Fergie that way and started we got a few players Al loan uh that way but talk about the reaction Fergie might get just to wrap this up because I have a genuine question here uh because uh my uh my season ticket didn't work or the scanner didn't work so I missed the first about eight minutes of the game got got grief plenty from the mole roads as I tried to get to my seat and being told to sit down uh but so I missed the uh the early go and the reaction that Parky got from the reading crowd was there much of a reaction there OB he's an absolute Legend at reading yeah he's he very well very well received um they all spoke highly of him beforeand I think he had a he he was on one of the the reding podcasts in the days leading up to that game and just speaking how highly regard is there and the sort of he still holds the club in high esteem as well so a lot of lot of respect on both parts and um yeah it it was great it was great you know just it's just it's nice that we're in a different we're we're in a different place to where Ren are you know we've been there we've seen it we've worn the t-shir more than once um so yeah yeah they love him which is great but please keep your hands off um leave him alone because Le L we forget he's not pinned down to a permanent permanent deal see everybody right before we wrap up should we just say that we've got a special coming now we we're going to give you the live version of the Humphrey car interview some really good stuff in um yeah because it's a live recording it's not as as bang on uh as you know as as as a zoom cast but it's still very well worth listening to and watching and thanks very much to Jamie from the more chips podcast for sorting out for us absolutely did us a solid there we're really really thankful for you for your help also um we are aware of some uh complaints made about the audio volume uh on the podcasts sometimes so i' just like to let everyone know that our sound Engineers are looking into it at this moment in time that you no no we have a team oh okay good it's not the same team as the one that does I follow we have to point that out because they had their issues apparently at the weekend um yeah other thing I can think of just just regarding I've saw I've seen a few people mention it um as great as the atmosphere has been at the Stoke KY asked there's been a few um issues with some stewarding not so much the reom stewarding but the hired Steward the extra help that been coming in telling people to sit down uh mainly those at the back of the PG 7 stand area and at the back of the the the temporary comp if you're at the back of any stand and you're not obscuring somebody's view that shouldn't be an issue should it if if you're standing in front of somebody who gen needs to sit down and is unable or can't or doesn't wish to stand up or be forced to stand up then obviously that's slightly PR of Ming but in the absence of safe standing and and A new cop I don't see why why there is a massive issue with with fans not being able to stand if they're the very last row and they're not obscure in a view so apparently there's been a few few things said and done by some studid and we don't want to start taking that away I know there's a health and safety aspect but come on there got to be some sort of common sense and also we live an incredibly sedentary lifestyle these days so anything that gets people on their feet I think is is something that should be applauded yeah and there's been various things you know you know what things like oh what next they going to take the drum away they're going to they're going to start removing the flags I mean you know it's it's special what what is being created at at at home at the moment really is I mean that that transcended to like Bolton if you like you know in terms of the the noise and everything else so I think I think it's important that we harness it and not try and take the bricks out of that wall you know if if it's going to be conducive to to actually helping the team it makes no sense so hopefully you know the powers that be listen to the fans and as long as long there no harm being done by by anything and standing up and so on and so forth and then you know maybe maybe this the stewards need to use a bit more discretion right great well thanks for cheering me up boys um I'm gonna put a ice pack on this and us posted yeah cucum cucumbers cucumbers all right right isn't it steak we're gonna steak steak okay again yeah sounds like a great buy right okay um I'm we're going to pop the the hrey car stuff in next and thanks very much goodbye from from me take it easy like subscribe share all that jazz and we'll see you next week ahead of the shoy game looking back at the petburg game Cheers Cheers see you [Music] all ring [Music] too to the [Music] mighty right let's start again let's start good evening everybody it's nice to see you him with the introduction but we'll go for it okay he SW he's sophisticated his P for time football B set something in motion we can never roll back from nor would we the executive director re football club may sound like a m title but his role is very much he's a go between from Hollywood to a North Wales mining town and he's got a big power to play in the coming season but just how prepared are this season's retion for the leag one campaign and can we ask him a question he's never been asked before let's find out as we welcome the one and only o [Applause] [Applause] car that intro that intro was crafted on a training yesterday my heart into that three hours ago let's get to chase Rob Ryan one promotion I think you were a little little bit more measured than that ear on this this summer sure where are you now in terms of that thought process and can you give us any hints on who else might come in before starts perhaps that's very that's a wide ranging question I'll Nar it is anybody coming in before [Applause] start well as it happens as I stood next to you only moments ago I received an email on my future watch that I had to very quickly go like so you can see what it said and I think it's very [Applause] likely you'll see at least one [Applause] wow the high point of my [Applause] interview soad that question yeah you're to give us anymore I know that so r Trucking what is your thought process going into this campaign now you know who we sign we're about to sign yeah where are yous of what the expectations what your hopes I think that if you've seen uh if any of you have seen the documentary which I'm sure some of you have I think I usually am a little try to be a bit more measured than the lads Because by the lads I mean Robin Ryan because they tend to be very excitable and when we were in Canada Olie was saying back to back to back on a a podcast and you know I think what Le say very difficult League it's a big jump for us one thing we've always said is that it takes we think it takes at least two windows to to shift a team between divisions if that makes sense or at least shift them into challenges between divisions so you know that we found that with the the first summer that we came in or the first of proper summer that we had um you know we we built a decent team and it finished it finished second and and but it wasn't complete until we brought OE in in January that's he really spark that second half of the season so you know every summer every window we work very very hard and um I think we've signed you know really great players who who've improved the quality of the squad and given us a you know a very good Fighting Chance of doing something unexpected in this Division and I think that you know we've as said we're not finished yet in the transfer window and I think that the players we bring in we're looking to bring them in as first team starters who are going to come in and change the change the kind of the dimension team so who knows you know I think I do think the point of like it's it's we're not going to smash everybody in the League this season it doesn't matter like who we bring in in the next uh um two three weeks whatever it is until the window closes because you know as earli Burham can spend 1.3 million quid on a left back you know and that is that's no joke and um uh you know you ask right why I only spend I didn't even buy my drink here tonight that's so's the yes that's sing up that 360 to go the transfer kitty yeah so so listen I'm I'm really excited about this season I think we can you know every season you know there is a team that comes out kind of shocks everybody and um you know why not up like I think I think we've built a very strong defense strong Midfield you know we are we looking for reinforcements further up the pitch looking looking to add bit of attacking flare and all that kind of thing so you know who knows let's just have fun in terms of your your role how has it kind of evolved and changed when you've come in has it changed more since we've had the hiring of a new CEO is it is it is ited somewh well it's definitely Chang since I started when I first got here you know Sean Harvey and I kind of arrived as a bit of a double act and you know we had we only had five six members of Staff you know everyone else was a volunteer and that meant that I sort of was a lot more sleeves rolled up and and kind of getting into nitty-gritty bit and and Performing kind of direct executive actions and stuff um you know what whatever that may have been um as we've added more and more people that role has become a bit diluted because you don't need me here the whole time like initially it was that first year I was here for four months before the Takeover went through and then probably another three to four over the course of the rest of that year and as we've added more pieces of the puzzle that my sort of direct interface is is required I think what's stay the same is that sort of impetus to be someone who translates Hollywood into football and football into Hollywood and getting Rob Ryan to understand what it is that we're doing and and kind of trying to retain ironically give a posh Vol from down south as much of the like cultural understanding that I've got of what rexim is and that I can make sure that they they don't lose sight of that or whoever they bring in doesn't lose sight of that um because I think that's incredibly important like U you know I'm I am a football fan first and foremost and I've often said that this job what's amazing is to get sort of to cross the white line in a way and suddenly the inside of it but you always retain that thing of like I love football I love football culture I love football fans and fandom and it's a thing that is resonates really strongly with me so so I'm I'm always looking to try and Champion that as much as possible um so yeah Michael coming in I mean I think it's GNA is already in the process of affecting big changes behind the scenes um you're one of the big things is that we're just looking to expand the operation in a massive way so um you know we're hiring all sorts of people to to new positions and you know hopefully that's going to make us a lot more responsive and a lot more um flexible and a lot more able to like preempt things and we're very we've been very reactive over the last couple of years and you know I I know that there lots of people get very frustrated because our Communications aren't as good as they could be and our um you know lots of lot of the operations are you know they're they're decent but they're not as good as they should be like I think we put a lot of time and energy into the first team what's going on on the pitch um you know last summer obviously we started our Academy up and then and finally got c 3 status and like that's starting to really Rumble into life like I think a big big thing this season from my perspective is going to be the Community Trust and and what we're doing out in the community because that's not really changed since we came in um and we're really really energized and fused to start getting out there and start you know we've heard many many times told the story many times about how great it is that people are taking their kids to play football and suddenly seeing lots of Ron shirts well Manchester City shirts and things but a big part of that for us is we should be out there coaching kids at a young age we should be just interfacing with the community way more than we do you know we we do a great deal just by being a football club it's a place people come to it's a place where you know you you have all come for a long time you've met friends there you've met Partners there youve you've taken your kids to all that kind of stuff and we just want to supercharge that and make that something that is that is we're we're the best in the business of doing so there very long answer question IED out about seven minutes ago very well very well we have got a zillion questions but we'll explain reason and before we get to them um just tell us a little bit about about this we supposed to have like a hybrid pitch and so he oh yeah that hasn't happened yes so the reason being that we were going to do it as kind of phase one of the cop effectively so so the idea was when we took down the temporary stand we' go and put that in we're going to move the dugouts which I think people have people heard about that all that Still Remains the plan I think all that's going to happen next summer um but ultimately it was decided look we want to do that all as part of a sort of unified package and the pitch actually I mean I I think I don't know who who I only watching on on telly on Saturday but like ch's done an unbelievable job with it it's in great Nick so we like look you know doing something that cost like a million quid effectively so when you do it you're like let's do it right and when it comes in it's going to be as you say it's deso hybrid grass plastic pitch with andol heating it'll be UFA category 4 standard it'll be this that and the other um and um you know so I think a big feature of because I'm sure if I don't know mov on to the Cofe course effectively what's happened to the cop is sort of similar where we've gone going to do this I'm going to spend upwards of 20 million quid on this which is what it will be north of um let's make sure it is absolutely top draw and will now fit together with whatever ends up happening to the other stands because I think that the original version that we did was amazing but it was sort of a bit Standalone and you then get a thing where you had sort of weird stands and we maximize the space which going to be so important because on that small footprint and all that stuff [Applause] anyway I get everage holder in my seat in the mold Road St what number is your seat uh 73 he's trying to ban you yeah yeah I'll find you [Applause] loyalty [Applause] loyalty um something something emerged not so long ago which looked like the framework of loyalty scheme is that happening is it being delayed is it being replaced scrap what not not scrap not replace it's been it's been delayed and I'd say it's basically that's a function of the change over to Michael so when Michael came in the phrase he's used is he's like I'm drinking from a fire hose right now like so much is coming at him so fast but this is one of the things that was on the agenda for this season for the start of this season I should say and he was like look can we just put a bit of a pin in this for for a short while so I can get into the building get my head around this get to understand it but we're still actually eager to to run it out system so all the data has been collected um and I I not very exclusively reveal that basically the data has been collected in in the manner as laid out in that document um and at a certain point during the season we hope the objective is to go like right from here on out we're going to start doing it's much cleaner to do it from the start of the season but ultimately it's something we want to do because we know it's something that people feel really strongly about um and ultimately it's one of those difficult things where whatever you do some people are going to be disadvantaged by the new system some people going to be we hope in the main you know that where that came from I think was from the cab meeting that we had where we run it ran it past the kind of selection people there and everyone was like look you know I think one or two people like it ain't great for me but it but it probably makes sense overall and so ultimately that's that's the that's the policy that we're we're looking to adopt um so yeah I mean watch this space but it will be cominging in in obviously just a future um we've already kind of touched on this with the c other things um where are we uh in terms of any developments with training ground and secondly um there's been a lot said about the the cop fan zone is is that hit any buffers as far as your concern or is it is it Ser its purpose as what you were expecting so the fan zone so well so I'm training let's do training first ask them in order so essentially yeah we're still working towards finding a training ground we for a long time we like let's do the cop first and then we'll do the training ground do the cop first the training ground of course the cop has taken much longer than we ever thought it would and and you know it comes back to that thing of you know it's m as I saying Michael's since coming in it's been interesting hearing his perspective because he's coming from the outside and looked at everything and you know where we've I think struggled over the last couple years one of the ways strug just band like we we've had we've had a very small card of people working on things and they just didn't have the time to do everything all at once and that was probably a mistake on well it's definitely a mistake on our part to allow it to operate in that fashion and one of the big things behind Michael coming in was we need to sort of restructure this all strategically from from top down so that we can start to diversify what we're doing bring more people in who who have responsibilities for different areas project managers you like tool manager and things like that that you know roles that affected allow us to maximize you know we do everything pretty damn well but nothing brilliantly in a way I think apart from I say myself first team what's happening on the pitch like that's all we put all our time resources into that and everything else has been like what can we get done watch actually that's actually my at home exced [Applause] the uh yes yes yes so so so in terms of training brand obviously we we've um had this got this arrangement with DAR at the moment so that's that's replicate a section of of uh training ground now due course I think the academy would potentially go back go to the main training ground with everybody but that space at Dar will always be useful to us because we'll use as a community sport bace it be place where we do tiny kids there or space where our women's team goes or like we're always going to need to use the space so but but we needed that space immediately in order to to qualify for cat three and that's incredibly important because it's you know that's where we start finding you know the next Jones the the players from rexon that are that are going to wear this shirt and do wonderful things for us so the first team you know we there's been a bit of a change we at uh the um fa and our relationship with is is really good at the moment so we've been using cers as well a lot um we've got a good arrangement with them for now but yeah it remains absolutely one of the first priorities is to get our own training ground do it ourselves put the power in our own hands Coles have been brilliant but every now and then they'll get a whales under 19's camp or whatever it may be and we can't use it and so we we've got a relatively good system of doing things but again it's not as good you miss out on those one% those those little little bits and pieces that just put you over the edge which is having our own space with with State gym with a swi pool with where a nutritionist through base all that kind of stuff so yeah that remains very important what was the one after train oh cop cop fan Zone yes yes yes so with the fan Zone it's a really interesting one I think I think if there's one mistake we've made in regards to Fan Zone this is not going to be what people think are mistakes the one mistake I we made is calling in a fanza because it what it is is actually something slight which is effectively a Hospitality space for the cop right and I think if it's presented in that way then people see it in a different light right the complaints about how much it cost well the 1864 Suite costs more than being in a regular seat in the m road stand but people understand you get something in return for that and you know my single biggest hope for it is that people will go into it on Saturday and go into like oh this is good this is a really good thing and we've got four different food stores in there I think there's going to be uh uh Curry from from this lady who used to do it at Bal wanders they they loved it there it's now here we've got I think woodf pizza and there's like a coffee bar there's a burger bar there's live music there's face painting there's there's like games and things for kids in there so I think it's I I think I've seen a lot of complaints about it people don't like that it it's exclusive to that section they don't like you pay10 to go in there they don't like all those things but ultimately what we these people go and be like oh this is this is pretty good actually it's worth it it's worth a 10 quid it's worth having access to all that food so you know people might not fairly experimental at this stage yeah I mean ultimately a lot of what we do is I think people you know expect us which is not unreasonable them to a certain extent but expect us to come with things like right we're doing this new thing and it's [ __ ] rules and we nailed it and don't worry about it like it's brilliant but that's just the way all businesses go like what what the fan Zone looks like on Saturday will probably look very different by the end of the season because we will learn from the process and you know I don't know what those lessons will be but I'm sure that we will learn all sorts of stuff and it will you know it might be like no one uses the face painters for kids so let's move the face painters and him with a magician I don't know could be will be no but whatever it is you know I think we we we will learn from it I mean I think you know I I recognize that the as I say naming a fan Zone people are like oh it's it's like fan zones at other football clubs where it's it's open to everybody and we discuss doing that but again it's the outlay like it costs us a certain amount of money to do it we got to try and at least cover that cost um so this is the process that we that we've gone now um we've got a so we we had loads of questions people on social media and when in Infinite Wisdom decided to say what would you like to ask them for so we got all manner of questions some heavy hitting some soft balls so what we're going to do rather than throw you and us you may choose to [Applause] throw you I'm ask that question um yeah Bingo calling typ number 22 tom o [Applause] Conor pick a member of the squad who has the best chance at gold in each of the following Olympic no no repeat 10 m platform diving 10 me platform diving yes but I would say Ollie spends a lot of time in like nut crackers so comat experience for that um but he's a bit big need we'll go with PA M yes 20 km speeding the James Jones he's got the L dress dress on horse I'm GNA say say oh no con he from cor and that's big like hor ring country air pistol air pistol deadly [Applause] mon I would probably go for again but not allow it FL Ste yeah break dancing uh oh I can't do St Fletcher again break dancing who's who you break dancing not actually Billy Waters very musical man we're not going next next number uh let's see really confusingly this season number six Tom o [Applause] Conor so if you had to r with any of the rexon squad on way trip it would genuinely difficult question because I would I happily choose about 12 of them um I think I would go with GE Gorgeous George Evans just as nice as man go what would you like to see his sort of beauty routine as well yeah a few tips how's he doing yeah although he would show me up maybe I need a real Ugo don't have any real I'm not listen to anyway shouting names out the out of the audience the generator which is it's a super computer it's not yeah will you Ma what's my next one um let's go with number four Max CL hang on I mean okay this this is very simar to the last one hrey car the for in the static caravan in yeah he has to take three plays with you three players does he take okay take three okay I I won't take George because we're rooming all the time yes I would take little boil it's very funny um I would take who else see I wouldn't take Jimny to in the he come back at like 6 a.m like 12 miles off the back of the so no no Jimmy for me please I love it don't get me wrong I the Caravan next door just not my Caravan uh I think take very funny two big beef cakes oh yeah take Andy that was aning are you new number uh okay let's go with uh number 12 George Evans okay you guys devis this system not me he devised this system have you ever played comedians football in London that has played most weeks family who there could do a job at the kir yes we've heard kit is a very able player and weirdly shows key yes so I probably someone that everyone here's more with Ellis James a big big player in that game um and he would be really delighted if I said he could do a job at the kir he could not I know he's a good he's a good Winger at it but he's so the interesting thing about this it's a game in South London lots of people who work in comedies player and um the only story from that that is worth telling really is that is the difference between when you play all the standups never pass the [ __ ] ball and they shoot from everywhere and all like sketch and character comedians pass all so I remember playing with Tim Vine and uh Lee Mack once and Tim shot from his own box while the goalkeeper was still in goal and the ball the ball only about reach the halfway line and and then Lee received it the other side and shot from the halfway line giving it back to us um so yeah the everyone there is pretty bad another number another another number to go through all these anyway so let's see let's see let's see who should I select uh let's do Steven fetcher number 26 oh okay let's see oh you'll regret this I'm regretting all of this [Applause] yes I look forward to this question really putting it full stop on that regret um Can the club collaborate with the fa and further utilize colia Park as a training center especially considering all the focus our ownership have delivered for Welsh football can we Buy's Park easy no because well no the answer is no because we can't really collaborate with them more because they're already with them loads and they've been they've been great very helpful we also don't want to buy cies because it doesn't have what we we want we want something bigger and fancier than col so very com brch towards oh God that's shut the door shut the door don't get anybody out of here podast is brilliant but it's um it's got quite a limited space I mean they they it's fantastic one it is we love it we love using it but as I say the aspiration of what we want to do is we want to you know there are I think three pictures at cers and we want some it's got seven or eight pictures in the end's one I tonight is the H [Applause] car yeah's heart killed my par [Applause] this whole thing is a long P purchase and then burn down none of that is true let's do number 10e car rather get rep to the Premier League or win an [Applause] AAR think awards are I just think Awards all those awards are a bit stupid my it's all like I don't know if you're if you're in any well anyone in any business that's got Awards associated with it whether whether it's like best local bar or best local whatever or best act it's always a bit sort of subjective it's not like there's not you you can't really get an award like well I actually am the best at this thing um so I always think they're a bit stupid really um and yeah so yes Premiership please I think I think you're the best Star Wars walks thank you there are no Awards handed out that another number um let's go with's number 17 these days Bon yes L Bolton yeah number 17 Luke Bolton which h house you I'll be real quick I'll real obviously I want to think it's Griffin door but [Applause] it's another number let's go with number 20 Andy Canon truey Canon number eight start computer wait which one which one's the better question um oh I mean this is this is a softball but um why does Humphrey car in mostly get his close from not all the time [Applause] mostly well I have just discovered a company called American to that is like designed specifically for sort of creeps who are 6'4 plus yeah it's not as bad as that Sten Merchant has a bit and he had to buy all his Co place called to.com a weirdly insulting name your customer base you're too tall sorry but yeah yes so I get a lot from there and actually Nike's quitea good because they they do like stuff at all yeah all does anyone do anything extra small asking for a friend um is that American small I Google American small and see what comes up another another number right yeah I think the way it's going we're just going to ask them all over because you're really good 19 okay what moment since what what moment since then sticks in your mind as the Highlight scene from the last three years and what would you leave on The Cutting Room floor this is documentary B I see yeah what what's my what's my favorite scene well um I mean it's difficult there there's a bunch of different if we're talking about the documentary there's loads of stuff there think really amazing stuff around Jordan and Kelsey and their trials and tribulations was really moving and stuff around JJ and and Chloe and Jude all that stuff I think it's one of the best things about the documentary is is it shows all the players for who they are which is human beings and I think it's so easy for us to forget that you know footballers always have this this difficulty challenge everybody's like wish I was a footballer I wish I had that and they assume everything is is great for those people and and they don't really other than you know not having a great game on they have any any problems so I think all those scenes are really brilliant in terms of the real life scenes and things I mean it's hard to look P the the like Paul's first goal against Bor Woods um being the moment where I was like oh oh W we're going to do it we're going to do it tonight and it's it's really happening that was that was amazing in terms of The Cutting Room floor anything with me in it I'm very happy to get rid of don't really ironically well I became in active because I was like I want to pretend to be other people than myself so seeing myself on camera I really don't like very much just about that in the first season when you were first introduced to the players yeah and K was there have you ever spoken to about that moment you probably back and everybody can see the same thing they were like who I definitely knew that at the moment no Illusions like actually smashing this if they could have done a reverse shot from my perspective of the players who were all sitting there like this [Applause] basically I mean uh the Vel I thought was like that man's going to kill me in the car no I mean I it's funny because got soon after he did yeah I mean people do often say oh is that like you must have I mean to be fair I fully understood where they were coming from because it was it's weird like I mean any moment like that when a takeover goes through for the players and stuff that are at the club it's quite a nerve-wracking time you don't know you're like might you know thought I might have been here for a few years but now these guys are coming in they're going to throw a little of cat around and I going to be part of that how's it all works I I really didn't ever blame them for thinking it was all a bit weird and I went on the [ __ ] light switch like an absolute wallet really like it out I'm cool yeah so it was um understandably they were not impressed why don't we do another three questions for three then why we get everyone for like a 15 minute Q&A QA at the end question question what's in my pocket [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [ __ ] Wonder way you looking here cannot believe I miss set up what's the huge thing in your pocket I know right we we'll ask two questions each and we'll do the he's looking at two I'm looking at 13 listen you've changed the rules on this game right okay last thing what is the one thing about the inner workings of the club that we all jump to the wrong conclusion about why that's good one I I think it's I think it's an extension of you know what I was saying about players things like that I think sometimes people forget that they L human beings at the club and we we are you know floor make mistakes and you make the you know I mean I think case in point you got things like the um you know Jordan contract that that's thing that came out the summer you know everyone was was kind of C about that but nature of those things is we the contract goes to the agent they Chang come back to us it goes through through so different goes to the PFA goes to wherever it is and just no one spotted that that in one of the things there was there was the wrong number to space and I think that that's sort of um I think there's there's a I think people expect perfection in some ways from from from the people that work for the kind of Elite Performance and the reality is is that like you know we have issues with with all sorts of things but you see like you know Liverpool basically start of the Season Li had the same issues we had when people were signing out for season tickets same sort of computer issues it's just it's just the the like the human nature of people I think sometimes people people forget about but I don't think I don't see particularly people jumping to huge conclusions I think you know you do see people love stories they love narratives and and people love the soap oper things and you see sometimes it's like oh you know you can tell Phil's livid about something because because this hasn't happened it's like none this none this is going on necessarily but yeah that's that's probably the biggest one maybe me again do okay 13 why no resistance certainly proba to the fa C play deis oh yeah that is a difficult question so this is a really hard one because it involves stuff that I'm not necessarily like at Liberty to talk about but I think ultimately the feeling was that we stly want to keep our powder dry for what we assume is only round two of that conversation partly because you know you're always in a situation operating football club where you've got to be doing the right thing but also doing the thing that is in the best interest of your club and sometimes when we we're in some delicate conversations with with the fa and the FW and with with football authorities in general you sometimes think for us for the longterm benefit of the football club it's better for us just to keep stum until we really have to say something um so that ultimately was was the decision there and we we discussed it behind the scenes and we like no one was thrill about doing it but the feeling was that it would it would help us more with some of the stuff that we want to do further down the line it was going to require a lot of Buy in from from the football associations that um we would just hope we'd get lost in the uh in the mix we didn't get lost the mix at all of course but and that's another one of the situation where like as I say in due course I hope be able to explain it a bit better because because the thing that we trying to achieve will have been achieved but um uh we want to join the Super League it's joke big joke shut the doors but yes that essentially you know there are times when you just have to eat [ __ ] which we do sometimes with stuff where people get really annoyed with us and we're like ah we can't explain why we've done this thing and so the best thing is just to sit there and get tweeted out and Yeah agree with that right last one from us we'll do Q you s mentioned this before but you're living like a transatlantic life how long do you think you can go on doing this and supplemental question to that you're a welln li [Music] [Applause] fan open the door yes so as you can tell my f toxic accent I am a dare I mean I've got the worst reason for being a fan of anyone ever which is that I went to a very Posh all boys boarding school where everybody loved Manchester United even though they spoke like me because they were the best team going at the time and um I was a contrary little bastard and they were like there I was like well I have the other one who you hate and it grew into like a real a real Obsession um but yes so your question got cut off a bit no so it's basically how long can you keep and if you did is Rex be your now oh yes I think I I one of the things about doing this is that it's like I don't have the emotional energy to really care about what Liverpool are doing like I yesterday was like oh they when's is their first game of the season on Saturday and and and was like oh no it's next weekend but like that five years Unthinkable because I been watching every friendly and checking transfer gossip and like doing everything that you know we all do as fans and now I just I find myself being very like it's actually quite a good way I can recommend it as a way to support a football club because you're like oh they won wickets and then oh they lost oh well who cares and it's fine um it's quite it's quite a positive experience uh but no I mean I think in terms of how long I can do this for end of last season I found myself really I was really run down with with everything I was just spending a lot of time away from home and I was finding the kind of the pressure of the running and kind of the just the Topsy turv emotionally you know I find myself like if we drew a game I'd be like absolute distraught for five days and if we won I get be so elated I couldn't go to sleep and everything to the room no sure I think it's sort of it's when you're you feel a responsibility for it as well like it magnifies it times 10 because you're so desperate to succeed um for all sorts of reason you the main one being like of course it's your job and you want to do it it but also that times when people are slagging off players on Twitter and things like that you're like want to stick it to them you know you do get that thing you get a very sieged mentality thing where you're like you know all fans of other clubs are slating s say [ __ ] you know you're just desperate to like get it and I just found it all a bit exhausting and in the summer ironically is almost the worst time to work at a football club because you're you have so much work on but you also there football for everybody so so that's the point you know you remember last summer summer before there was a whole thing about Rex and ler and how we were taking Rex and lger at the stadium and it was disgrace and people send me stuff I mean every name under the site like how dare you disgust blah yes that was yes I can got up my DMs from you right you know all that stuff you're just like you're exhausted you're just desperate for the football to come back for everybody's like Channel their energy into the into the right thing but I had really fun start the tour was fantastic it was a great experience it was so nice seeing you know the new Lads settling in you were like yeah this is this is a really really really neet positive experience like they are going to hit the ground running those players because they are you know getting two weeks away with all your new colleagues it's an unbelievably good way to bond with everyone and I really enjoyed seeing those combinations of people where you know like I know that like L leis Bruns and Fletch and ediot Lee are like a really tight Trio now they're always hanging around together and um you know George Dobson's coming he knows Owen and and uh um OT as well like him and Jimmy really hit it off and they they were still off doing things together and so yeah it's been a great summer so anyway again unbelievably longwinded answer uh I'll keep doing it for like as long as I possibly can really I mean my wife and I do want to move over here and that would make a big [Applause] yeah it's far away the most rewarding thing like I've ever done in terms of you know I love my other job it's really fun but you don't it doesn't what I do in that other world does not mean as much to people as what we do here at the club and that's am one of the eight [Applause] [Laughter] people but yeah it's um yeah it's I mean you have stuff like I flew over yesterday I'm so jet bagged that I'm getting crap for some unknown reason um but uh you know it's just amazing to be here for like the Saturday it's first game back in League one in 20 years like there's something very emotionally significant for us about bit having PL back to like where I think the sort of spiritual home of rexim is in a way you know obviously our aspirations to go beyond this but this is sort of you know before the rot set in this was home for for a long time so so really last year was amazing as well back in the league and such significant thing but League one is is really important as well so yeah it's there's there's it's tough at times but the the good [Applause] massively QA yes so before we do that can you just give it up for [Applause]
