Check her out. She is beautiful. She’s absolutely stunning. Good morning, Megan, thank you so much for coming down this morning. We appreciate your time. Yeah, thanks for having us. Tell us all about it. >> So lady was an oer surrender. She’s been with us for about a month and she is not enjoying shelter like she wants to go back to your comfy couch, but she’s dog friendly, cat friendly. And she we good in a home with teams are older. Okay? Because shes just kind of chill. She just wants to hang out. So something that’s a little more of a chill lifestyle would be great for her. She’s like, what is that? >> Moving into our cameras is our studio camera move in seas. She’s very glued to that. What is that Lady lady? What does that do? We know why she was surrendered. >> They just couldn’t take care of her anymore with the economy the way that it is. So we’re looking for someone that will give her her forever home. Yeah, and that’s so tough. You know what we’re constantly talking about affordability and access when it comes to being a respect, responsible pet owner. And it’s tough. It’s it’s really challenging for a lot of folks out there right now. And it’s not easy on them. You you mentioned how she’s not. You know, she’s not do when she’s not enjoying her. Stay at the shelter. Exactly. Shelters are often stressful for our parents. >> And so, you know, >> this just leads me to ways of getting involved. We, of course, would love for folks to. >> To adopt if they can. But if they can’t, they certainly could foster a dog or cat like lady to to to get them out of the shelter in a more comfortable environment and learn more about that path. >> Yes, or fostering program is great. We provide all the medical needs that they have during their stay. And so if you ever want to do fostering, it’s a great way to get the more exposure and find them a home outside the shelter. Yeah. And you learn so much about them and this way when it is time for them to find their forever home, that that pet owner has so much more information versus someone who’s just, you know, coming right directly from the shelter that we might not have as much. >> Data about exactly. Yeah. And we love foster not fostered many through our shelter and it shows are great. We were in experience and finding those adopters for them is just really rewarding. Yeah. >> And again, knowing that the cost is it comes upon the shelter and not and doesn’t fall upon. You exactly is really beneficial to now. >> Talk to us about this stray dog population opinion in your community and in unley stocks. >> Give us a give us a look at what it what, what it’s like. >> So we serve Washington counties. So that includes Burnham and then Chapel Hill, Independents, Washington. So we have a wide It comes to our animal shelter. A lot of people in Brenham are responsible. Pet owners. Of course, we have people that dump animals that need help and resources, but they just want it now instead of having to
wait for an appointment or wait for an appointment or something like that. So we do see that. But we spay neuter vaccinate microchip, all of our pets that come into the shelter. So we’re trying to mitigate that by providing those services. Yeah.
>> And that certainly is not an easy job. It requires a lot easy job. It requires a lot of work. And I know oftentimes we expect the shelters to pick up all of the work and that’s not how this works, right here. It truly takes a community. And for those of you in and you certainly know that and you and you are feeling that. So we appreciate the the work you guys too every day. Talk to us about what capacity is like at your shelter right now. >> So we are about at 85 animals that are ready to go. Adoptable out of 120. Some of our cats are too small or there’s nursing moms and babies. Stuff like that. So we do have a lot of animals that are already ready to go. So we encourage people to come out are crescendo event is going to be September 7th from 12 to 5 and it will be a community event with bounce houses, vendors, snow cones, everything like that. So we just one bite that can come out, even if you can adopt just to come see what we have. >> Get involved race, get for folks interested in lady. Talk to us about any adoption fees. >> So for the crescendo event, the adoption fees are going to be waved. So be $0 on September. 7th. Otherwise we’re doing a $35 special for the rest of August and September. >> Clear the shelters, part of clear the shelters exactly. Thank you so much. Appreciate you guys. Coming down.
