missed call one was a review and an overturn that were two of the most egregious that I've ever seen ever yeah and the one that's got me bugged is I saw the review and it was a fumble yeah it's a possession in the left hand switched to the right it's a it's a Juke or an attempt to avoid a Defender while it's clamped in the left hand yeah he's moving it to the right hand because he sees loule coming at him and it slips out of that right hand it's a fumble and so on the broadcast I was like that's a fumble easy one should take 5 Seconds that's going to be BYU's ball at the whatever it was eight no problem don't even need the review yeah and then it was the ring on the field has been changed to an incomplete pass and I'm like go I almost started slamming when when Greg Rebel looks at you like hey you need to Cal it down you need to get all I don't really care if you people look at me in the pressx you know what I don't care that's a flag and I'll fight any one of you if you want it if you want it yeah somebody call right Waters this is the F and I called every game last year this is the first time that the officials have gotten under my skin that's impressive it's it's the first time yeah I can't say that I got I get now the thing is and this is what I was telling you like you can be upset and then you got to be like okay we're moving on now cuz nothing I can tell nothing annoys fans more when they're listening to a broadcast than when you don't let it go they're like apparently the team is not the only one melting down here yeah I mean like they they at the end of the day they still need you to describe the game and and you can't like be stuck in the past got to shed it yeah which you guys did your advice to me was shed it yeah Greg did a much better job than me I thought if anybody was gonna roll with it I thought it'd be Greg Greg yeah Greg was like oh well shoot all right so then uh with they punted and I mean the game was out had it been a one possession game in the fourth quarter that might be a little bit different yeah they been on the road against Iowa State you know I just hope I don't I mean that if that's yeah if that call comes in the fourth quarter on a three-point game yeah or the misted call that they had earlier in the game where it was an obvious incomplete pass for like a 40 yard game put him at like the eight or 10 yard line put him in possession position to score you you get that in a big game I might write Waters it yeah it's hard not to yeah because that's such a I'm so glad cuz you guys were you guys love banging on me for so many years I know because we hear the emotion and now that you're a part of it I'm so glad because now you know how easy it is to go down that path now it is easy and you're right you build a connection to these people yeah and it's it's not about the logo it's about the guys you get to know let me tell you what really frustrated me and then we'll get to C just give me five more seconds L I promise this is what really frustrated me Kanani sataki saw the damn thing yeah he saw it and he was running as fast he could throwing the time out because he knew that it was an incomplete pass and the officials didn't even step in they didn't try to slow it down now SIU was brilliant because they've got the quick snap play lined up every team has a quick snap Play If I feel like I'm getting away with something and especially something big we snap it as fast as we can and I don't care if I only get a quarter of a yard or a three yard loss I don't care yep we hold possession they were there and it was going but from the outset you could see it from the booth that when it hit the ball hit the ground and you could see it and Kanani saw it on the sideline and he's running throwing his time out and when I'm watching a buddy get screwed over by an official that doesn't even want to take the time in a in a major possession in a deep ball like that it's like gez Bud if that happens against SMU or if that happens against Kansas State I could see why at times Scotty it's like now the right wat thing did feel like it was over the line a little bit yeah he threatened to fight everybody in the Press Box press that's a bit excessive oh geez that ever happens we have to get permission from Greg to play the boost sound and I don't want to do that no all right uh it is the end of an era here on the hands and Scotty show for almost a decade now when we'd replay the cyle Whittingham press conference we would play the okay or all right game and we would wager whether or not he would start because there was only two ways he would start every Pro press conference it was either okay or all right and for years you and I would start this segment at least nine saying okay what is it is it okay or all right might have been halfway through our first year yeah we picked it up on it real quick might be nine and a half Seasons I'm s I'm surprised it took this long for people to realize what was going on I'm surprised it took this long for it to get back to Kyle I'm sure probably DJ or PK went up to him like Hey do you realize that they you start this in hands and Scotty they make wages J catches in the Jake Jake did they sell us out you promise he do he say he's cling doesn't know you just don't you're just saying you plead the fifth okay he's picking a side which means right which means he knows he's got he's got be loyal to his guys which means he knows and they did it yeah he's not admitting guilt they sold us out pleading no contest well I hope that Kyle knows and I hope that everybody knows that we did that out of pure love out of nothing but love and respect and now I'm bummed that it's gone because the okay and all right it was our Mondays yes I look forward to it I we would psychoanalyze k yeah as to whether it was a win or loss or maybe there was a big injury did that affect his mood but here it is here's Kyle admitting that yep he found out and our and we can't have any fun anymore as Lloyd says it's the no fun show Kyle made made it all go away I guess there's been some wagering going on as far as how I start my press conferences so I'm going to try to change it up every week so nobody nobody can win whatever they're wagering so uh this week um it was great to have Cam and brand back on the field last week uh lethal combination uh they've got great chemistry and uh obviously you saw that in the first half so that was a big plus for us thought we played a a fairly clean game there are some things that that we can do better as there is every single week um thought we ran the ball just okay you know we had 185 yards rushing but we like to get that five yards of carry uh statistic and and we were just shy of that uh penalties were not excessive maybe one or two too many but not not anything excessive uh did turn the ball over a couple times lost the turnover margin which we rarely do it was two minus one in the turnover margin but uh a lot of good stuff we played uh played very efficiently for the most part um defense was suffocating and ended up with a shutout I think it's the first shutout in four or five years and and uh offens put up a bunch of numbers in the first half it was it was a chance for us to get in a lot of the the backups in the second half in fact even in the end of the first half we got some guys in but overall a good start to the season uh much bigger challenge this week we understand that uh Baylor's a good football team they got good Personnel they're well coached extremely well coached uh had a uh V Victory last week much like a lot of the country where where they played a a opponent that that was at the FB FCS level but uh we were fortunate to get out of there with a win last year we know that we haven't forgotten that it was it was a uh right down to the wire game and and so uh we got to prepare the right way all week long just like we do every single week and and uh be ready for a be ready for a fight because that's what it's going to be and and uh you know big fox I guess is covering it 130 kicks so have a lot of eyes on us and so we want to make sure that we uh we play with the same passion and energy and and efficiency that we did last week except hopefully better so that's where we're at now this question comes from Justin Justin away spokesman okay he said great win on Saturday how would you great Isaac Wilson's performance in the game and are you concerned about this position of the okay um Isaac Wilson I thought he came in probably put him in a little difficult situation there probably should have had him just hand off well I shouldn't say should have uh I think eventually he'll he'll grow from that not eventually but he will you know he's been in that situation now already so if it does come up again he's he's been in a in a hurry up situation at the end of a half but overall uh probably a b uh if you put in a great on it uh made some good throws once he got settled in there in the second half made some good uh runs from the pocket and uh you know he just right out of high school so uh I don't know what uh what everyone was expecting but we raade the film he was he was pretty efficient and did a nice job you know two balls that he wish he had back but uh it was good to get him the Reps you and he had uh what 30 something reps so that's that's good for him and it will pay off at some point down the line um before the season started you mentioned that you had two tiers of ring backs and and mentioned that djn Stanley was in the second tier but he had a special package of play for him after his date season debut uh is he kind of elevated himself into that first CH well he sure was productive uh Thursday night and was a big play guy for us and it's really like a the first tier with those three guys and an asri plus deon's package of place and so I don't think he's quite yet ready for every down type of a back but he certainly will have an expanded package as the season goes on if he continues to have the impact that he did last week but uh he was he was uh you know did everything really well on the game uh Thursday night uh nearly 200 yards of of offense you know receiving and rushing and so he's a weapon for us at least he was uh in that first game and if we can if we can create uh some more big chunk yardage plays with him in the future that's you know that that could be a a niche that he could fill for us this year Kyle uh like you said after the game you know Kenan Johnson's injury didn't look good what's the update on him and what's your for that yeah unfortunately that's season ending um yeah season ending and you know if there is a silver lining he will be able to get another year you know we haven't had that discussion yet it just depends on what he what he wants to do and how he wants to handle it but uh from what feedback I have gotten it would be pretty much a slam dunk to to get him another year if he wants to go down that road um and then a leaky went out uh not season ending and so that's that's the extent of what we'll comment on that that's good to because we Fe we feared there for a while that it maybe was uh extremely serious but uh looks like he's going to be back with us at some point uh what's the plan at cornerback now that his injury is season good question uh Smith Snowden played exceptionally well at the nickel spot on the inside uh slot Corner whatever you want to call it and uh he is very capable of playing on the outside as well so you you might see that happen uh Scooby Davis came in and gave us some good reps um we get uh cam Cam's back this week at corner and that'll give us another guy that uh had a very good spring and and uh was showing promise and so it's it's right now I don't have we don't have the exact answer and configuration but we'll take a look at the configurations in practice and determine in the next day or two what the what the best one's going to be how would you grade out your offensive line in that first week knowing that it's obviously the first game takes some time for this unit to jail you want another letter grade am I pinned the letter gra how about B+ B is in boy for for offensive line gave up a few pressures and a sack that that uh we shouldn't have but uh overall when you look at the efficiency from start to finish and again the first line played they played a few Series in the second half so they weren't completely out in the second half but but uh I thought they did some good things uh second line came in and and got some quality reps and did some good things as well and so I would say that uh we know they can be better but uh decent start to the season Kyle a little odd but you're a little odd DJ okay PK's not yeah because there were so many big plays did you get all the work in you wanted with the first team offense and do all the things you wanted to do because they were coming off the field because they're were scoring touchdowns yeah I would say yes and no I think yes in the fact that uh in this day and age of foot well not in this day and age but in football it's much easier to to uh put points on the board if you get chunk yardage somewhere along the way in the drive and and we happen to have a couple plays that were huge huge chunk yardage plays but it's tough to go 14 plays four five yards at a time and so it was positive in that respect uh you know and we only had half a half a game to uh work with the first offense but I I would say yeah I think we I think we got accomplished what we needed to but uh again this will be a much bigger challenge this week and and uh you know I don't think it's going to be a case where offense is only playing half the game in fact I'm pretty certain of that Chris Curry's on staff here now how did that come about and how's he been doing we had a gentleman on staff that was going to be with us that had a family issue where it prevented him from being able ble to be with us this season we didn't find out until about 2 and a half weeks ago and uh Chris is uh still living here he was helping out at one of the local high schools and scheduled to help them out this season but when that opening came about um Extended the offer to Chris he showed interest and and uh we're excited to have him on board so he's he's a an ad admin assistant Administrative Assistant for us right now kle obviously as You' mentioned all fall Camp keeping camp healthy is is a priority and after the game you said you felt like he took a couple too many hits um how do you balance I guess his Competitive Edge and your want to keep him healthy because it you know after the game he said he takes hits and he calls him Scooby Snacks I mean walk how you balance that as a coach well I will say this after watching the film it wasn't as uh bad as I thought it was not I shouldn't say as bad but but uh he was he was fairly smart most of the time he his competitive uh mentality comes out you know during those situations often times and he wants to get that extra yard but but uh he's a guy that uh when he's in the lineup we're obviously a much better football team and so we don't want to beat it to death and make him you know not he'd ever be afraid of anything but so so uh concerned about it that it affects his play in other areas and so I thought that after watching the film yeah I wish maybe once or twice he could have you know got a little more out of Harm's Way but but he is uh one of the most competitive guys that you'll ever come across and so it's going to be tough to completely say that hey you're you're never going to do that because it's going to happen once in a while one one of the quirks of realignment is having a non conference game against another big 12 team right how how do you approach that situation it's kind of unique in in the sense that I mean they are a conference fo but it doesn't count of conference standing yeah it's it's it is a unique situation but uh you know they've been on the schedule for what 5 years now or four years whatever it was so so who knew that things would shape up as they have but but we've talked about that that it doesn't matter conference game no conference non-conference game every game is critical and so there's no different approach that we would take this week if it was a conference game that we wouldn't take otherwise and so doesn't affect our preparation doesn't affect how we play doesn't affect anything and so in that regard it's it's it's kind of a non Factor but it is weird that that would be the case I know fall there was a lot of conversation talking about just the the depth that you have in the passing game where you're able to just get a bunch of different guys the ball do you do you care whether it comes to the tight end or wide receiver how do you kind of balance that or do you balance that in terms of how you kind of spread the ball around I think that's uh a game plan thing week to week some weeks the tight ends will be more uh involved and and more the the the core of the plan some weeks it's wide receivers I think it's match ups and uh the type of defense that we're facing uh their personnel you know are they playing nickel are they playing 43 uh so all that stuff goes into play but one thing that's a big positive is we have the luxury of being able to attack different ways and have a lot of weapons for Cam and and uh coach lwi to uh to utilize since you didn't play Saturday and there was game Friday also just your take on big 12 teams and what you saw and what impressed you well I just saw the scores and so it's seemed like we had a good day and I don't think anybody got uh I guess Houston didn't fair so well but uh what was the conference like 10 and two losses in the conference two losses okay and what 12 wins West yeah so West Virginia L 14 wins yeah so i' would say a pretty good weekend for the conference although again it's just taking a quick glance at the I didn't look at the box scores or the the team stats or anything like that but just looking at the scores I think it was a pretty respectable week for the Big 12 that it was there you go Kyle Whittingham hands I'm now opening up a investigation into finding out who who sold us out yeah I'm with you uh he'd mentioned a good week for the Big 12 the Big 12 was 14- two and most of that was against FCS opponents there were a couple of Mount West Conference opponents the two losses Houston and West Virginia and by the way Houston that was not indicative of how much UNLV dominated them it was 27 to7 UNLV could have won that game 45 to nothing I'm telling you unv might be the class of the mount West this year and they went to Houston and just beat the breakes off that team they played really well yeah um 14 and two and that means that Arizona State got their their opening win against Wyoming 48 to7 yeah which I don't know what to think of Wyoming and I don't know what to think of Arizona State yeah because Arizona state is one of those games at the end of BYU season Arizona State and Houston that you're like all right those two because I I think that there's going to be both eligibility that is very available and very possible when you get to those two and that's like was Arizona State good to beat him 48 to7 or is Arizona State terrible yeah or or sorry is W terrible yeah yeah uh well we'll find that out here in a couple weeks hands and Scotty 975 the KSL Sports Zone let's get to it Sports rette we take some of the big story lines put on roulette will spin it and see what Lloyd wants us to talk about let's fire it up Seattle bound well one thing about being put on a practice squad hands is that anybody from any team can just pluck you off of that practice squad so last week uh we were both saddened and disappointed that jiren Hall was released by the Minnesota Vikings now the Vikings then retain the right to add them add him to the practice squad which they did but what that also does is allow you become become open season for other teams to claim you off of that practice squad and that's exactly what the Seattle Seahawks did as they have claimed jiren Hall uh he is now a Seattle Seahawk and the one thing you cannot take somebody from a practice squad and put him on your practice squad you have to be part of the 53 man roster so this is a very good day for jiren Hall as he is now on the Seattle Seahawk roster which means he gets a nice big fat full paycheck yes instead of the practice squad I I don't know there weren't any guarantees or anything so there's nothing attached to it but he is going to go to a full salary which now rookie minimum is at 980 so he's a second year so he's probably in the 1. two-ish yeah to 1.4 million that's a pretty good payday and I want to say practice squad is somewhere around the 5 to 600,000 now 4 to 600,000 it's somewhere in there yes yeah back in my day it was about 190 it was like 200,000 190,000 something like that um so this is a good day for him it's a good day for jiren yeah yeah very good day and Seattle Hey look it's a good place to live I'd rather live in Seattle than Minneapolis oh yeah for sure all right Lloyd spin it [Applause] are the Steelers right and Payton wrong oh are they we shall see because everybody's praising Russell Wilson and his leadership in Pittsburgh in fact to the point that he's been named team captain and the praise is effusive you got multiple coaches that are like oh his leadership here's uh this is from coach Tomlin well it's just the fruits of his labor he's seen a lot and done a lot and I think it's reflected in the way he's played and conducted himself this comes from Miles kilu who is elected team captain uh with Cam Hayward TJ Watt and of course Russell Wilson he's just a really strong leader and he brings that veteran experience he's been doing it at a high level for a long time I think it's the experience that calms the nerves he can be that guy that leads through various situations because he's seen it he's seen a lot so he's a very calming presence and Ward and upward like there's a lot of Praise coming from everybody saying Russell Wilson's Camp was awesome his performance have been incredible and the Steelers are counting on Russell to carry him so who's going to be wrong is it GNA be Pittsburgh they're gonna find out yeah Pittsburgh will find out they're gonna mess around to find out they're gonna mess around Justin Fields will be starting on that team in the next four to five games okay because if we get through the first four or five weeks and he's performing do we have to stop and say oh yeah oh absolutely if he tears it up for Pitts we IM absolutely we like hey guess what Shawn pton you screwed up you missed you missed Broncos you screwed up and I wonder how much that's motivated Russell Wilson um I don't know as long as he's got all that money and he's got Sierra to come home to I think he's feeling like he's a one at life which he has he has yeah oh he's a winner how motivated do you really need to be Life's good yeah well the way I got treated in Denver when a new head coach came in and they kicked out my right-hand man and cleaned out all my Personnel in the offices and and then slapped by hand and got teammates yelling at me to get off the field and and I'm a Super Bowl champ yeah and that's how I'm gonna get treated around these parts I'm gonna show you like I that would motivate me yeah well and uh speaking of motivation I think they're playing week two in Denver so I think it's the yeah yeah yes week two Steelers at Broncos I'm officially 15th looking forward to that one yeah all right spin it Lloyd a new way to avoid prison time well we've talked about the story cons uh concerning Boston Celtic Ford former Boston Celtic Ford Glenn big Davy Big Baby Davis uh he got caught up in the fraud conviction scheme in which he defrauded NBA players and their families on that insurance plan uh with false claims is supposed to start a three-year prison sentence well uh he has got that delayed for um another four months he does not have to report to prison why because he is filming a documentary about his life and judge Valerie Capron said Wednesday Davis can wait until the end of of his filming of his own documentary that he is filming and putting together about a film about his life pretty narcissistic not called crocodile tears and uh and she is allowing him to finish that before he reports to prison who wants to see a film on his life yeah well his lawyer actually came up with a pretty good idea this is the spin in which they went they said hey look uh he's got to pay back a lot of money and we anticipate that this film is going to generate a lot of money that he can then use that money to pay back what he owes his fins and here's the thing no who here is g to pay a dime to watch a documentary about Glenn Big Baby Davis I don't think Netflix Netflix nobody wants any part of this because Netflix would be filming it yeah and we would know what the money is yep sounds like they're putting together an impro that's why I said crocodile I said crocodile tears yeah he's paying his buddies to follow him around with a boom and a camera yep showing up at showing up at basketball Parks letting it rain let it rain let it rain and trying to act important in his hometown yep 100% that's all it is all right spin it Lloyd another crazy Caitlyn Clark stat all right so uh I know we talk a lot about Caitlyn Clark and for good reason she deserves all the accolades that are coming her way uh she's so fun to watch 28 points 12 assists uh for her team the Indiana Fever in a win over Dallas okay that's a nice stat night but here's what's really crazy this is nuts the fever now with that win and the winning streak that they've gone on have now improved their record to 17 and 16 on the season just one game over 500 it's been a while for Indiana Oh yes how about this they had gone an WNBA record and frankly this has to be a record in a lot of sports 189 straight games without a winning record meaning they've never started a season 1-0 or 2- one or any of that they have gone 189 straight games without ever being over 500 at any point and by the way they don't play an 82 Game season yeah they play like a 41 Game season yeah so we're talking like almost like four full seasons or five full seasons it's been a while since they've seen a winning record and here she is dragging them back to one because they would still be losing a lot if they didn't have Caitlin yeah um she was coming off a career-high 31 points um in that win over a fellow Rookie of the Year Angel Reese in Chicago Sky did you see the stat that the WNBA put out uh she is the recipient of 177% of all of the League's flagrant fouls at this point oh wow I not heard that she is the recipient of 177% of all the flagrant fouls that have been called to this point in the WNBA that's crazy J that she holds that percentage and you know we see the videos and social media circulates them and these women haven't learned yet no but they will Y what what it would come down to try injuring her and see what happens if she's on the sideline for a year two years I always like your point she should leave yep start her own League just leave and start your own League you're the only thing that anybody cares about that stupid League anyways yep yep so leave start your own league go get a couple of the bigger names you know go pull Angel Reese because Angel ree is incredible she's absolutely fantastic she set like a was that a rookie record or is it an all-time rebound record uh I'm not sure might be an alltime WNBA rebound record and she's fantastic if there's anything next to kitn Clark that's caught people's interest it'd be Angel ree but those two go create your in Logan and uh it was great to catch up with him about Bryson Barnes and where he stands and how he feels and he left it open-ended that peachers could be back for this weekend and based off of what you saw and mentioned in the morning after podcast and the way the injury occurred and so maybe he is available yeah I I could see it going either way we'll hopefully know more throughout the week or they may play close to the vest and pull a colani and say you know know we're going to keep it to ourselves I was also glad to hear that I viam Mahi yes not season ending is not season ending and should be okay because aliki is fantastic yeah so not a bad weekend to start no three and 0 all distanced 20 plus points or or there about and showed really good both offensive and defensive moments where you feel like geez like Jack Kelly he looked really good yeah Isaiah B he got a sack um it was a matching his sack total from last year matching his sack total from last year so it was an effort between him and Blake mangelson yeah and it was great Jack Kelly had a sack and slipped off it but then came back for just a tackle for like a half yard gain just barely missed the sack John Nelson had a sack off of it was a stunt between he and E from Asiata yeah and they held non-quarterback rushers to two yards yes so there was a lot of positive things that you walk away from and Utah I could go through the list of things that were positive for Utah that I'm feeling really good about this season that's coming this is going to be a big week though for sure to figure out who these teams are
