WELCOME TO THE FOX 8 4 O'CLOCK NEWS. I'M CHAD TUCKER AND I'M MADISON FORSEY FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS DIED WHILE SERVING A WARRANT IN CHARLOTTE FOR OTHERS WERE ALSO HURT. IT'S A REMINDER OF THE DANGERS ARE FIRST RESPONDERS PUT THEMSELVES IN EVERY SINGLE DAY. OUR CREWS HAVE BEEN IN CHARLOTTE ALL DAY NOW GETTING REACTION TO THIS TRAGEDY AND HEARING FIRST HAND, WHAT HAPPENED AT A HOME ON GALLOWAY DRIVE. FOX EIGHT'S NEW MCNEIL CAROLINE BOYER. WELL, HERE WE ARE IN THE 5,000 BLOCK OF GALLAWAY DRIVE IN THE SHANNON PARK SUBDIVISION OF EAST CHARLOTTE WHERE THIS STORY HAPPENED YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. I JUST WANT TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE HOUSE BEHIND ME AND WHAT'S LEFT AND ALL THE DAMAGE HERE. PEOPLE IN THIS AREA SAID WHEN THIS WAS GOING DOWN AROUND ONE, 30 TO 2 O'CLOCK TO 3 TO 2.30, YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. IT WAS KIND OF LIKE THE VIETNAM WAR HAD BROKEN OUT IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD. AND YOU CAN TELL A BATTLE HAPPENED HERE. OBVIOUSLY, I CAN'T SEE BULLET HOLES FROM THIS POINT. I UNDERSTAND THEY ARE UP THERE, BUT OBVIOUSLY IT LOOKS LIKE A SPECIAL TACTICS VEHICLE JUST RAMMED. >> THE FRONT PART OF THIS HOUSE, WHATEVER HAPPENED. OBVIOUSLY, IT WAS SOMETHING VERY VIOLENT HERE AND GO BACK TO AROUND ONE 30 YESTERDAY AFTERNOON WHEN 4 MEMBERS OF THE U.S. MARSHALS VIOLENT FUGITIVE TASK FORCE WALKED UP TO THIS HOUSE TO SERVE A FELONY ARREST WARRANT AGAINST HARRY CLARKE. USE. HERE'S OPENED FIRE. 3 MEMBERS OF THAT TASK FORCE WERE KILLED TO AID ELLIOTT AND SAM PILLOW. SHE WORKED FOR THE NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF ADULT CORRECTION. AND TODAY WE LEARNED THE NAME OF THE 3RD MEMBER OF THAT TASK FORCE WHO WAS KILLED YESTERDAY. HIS NAME WAS THOMAS WEEKS. HE WAS 48 YEARS OLD. HE WAS A UNITED STATES MARSHAL. HE HAD BEEN WITH THE MARSHAL SERVICE FOR 13 YEARS AND HE LEFT BEHIND A WIFE AND I BELIEVE FOR CHILDREN. IF MY MEMORY SERVES ME CORRECTLY MOVING ON NOW, MEMORIALS ARE SET UP AT POLICE DEPARTMENTS ACROSS THE CITY LIKE THE ONE THAT YOU SEE HERE. PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SHOWING UP TO PAY THEIR RESPECTS AND ANOTHER SCENE THAT PEOPLE ARE TAKING IN TODAY IN ADDITION TO THE HOME HERE ON GOAL WILL DRIVE ARE SOME OF THE NEIGHBORING HOUSES TALK TO PEOPLE IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD
