all Amigos cadal J here from Spain's bigs with the Spain news update we'll take a look at some of the main stories that have caught my attention in the Press here in Spain and we'll also take a look at some comments that have been left on the channel by viewers in recent times before I begin a huge thanks to all of the people that have supported the channel in recent times whether it's by buying me a coffee whether it's through the super thanks option on YouTube longer term support is on patreon and the channel members of this YouTube channel thank you very much for that support now straight into the news and the Diplomatic dispute that has sprung up between Spain and Venezuela is dominating headlines today and as we can read here more than 60 Spanish multinationals in Venezuela could be affected by a potential break in relations after the approval of the pp's non-binding proposal to recognize elmundo thth as the elected president of Venezuela the Venezuelan Parliament has threatened to sever diplomatic and economic relations and to expel Spanish companies operating in the country regarding exports from Spain and according to the most recent data Venezuela ranked 99th among Spain's largest export destinations in 2022 Spain exported a total of $127 million to Venezuela with unglazed Ceramics being the main product meanwhile Spain was the third largest destination for Venezuelan exports totaling $518 million with almost 85% coming from oil sales according to experts this trade flow between the two countries has been growing steadily over the past 2 years regarding Spanish companies operating in Venezuela according to IEX data there are more than 60 multinationals across various sectors notable examples include BBVA in the banking sector hotel chains such as espia and Melia in the Hospitality sector and Iberia and Air Europa in the airline industry so there we go Spanish companies in Venezuela multinationals and also smaller companies I imagine worried that Mr mudo and his regime could throw them out of the country the Venezuelan government not happy with what happened in Spain's Parliament the other day when a group of political parties led by Spain's main opposition party the Paro popular recognized Mr edmundo gonth as the winner of the recent Venezuelan elections and in typical style Mr Maduro has thrown the toys out of the cot and threaten to break relations between the two countries pathetic second piece of news now in Spain's migration problems again making headlines and more than 60 people have been arrested in Morocco for inciting a mass Crossing to the autonomous city of fa for Days videos circulated on social media showing young Moroccans encouraging a swim across the the tajal Breakwater on Sunday September the 15th to reach Thea the spread of false news about a mass transfer from the temporary stay Center for immigrants in Fela to Mainland Spain sparked a large scale operation aimed at bypassing authorities controls on both sides of the Border Moroccan police reported the arrest of about 60 individuals all of Moroccan nationality between tangia and tetuan suspected of participating in the creation and dissemination of false information on social media police sources explained that 13 of those arrested were located in various cities in the North African country from where they were encouraging the breach of Thea this coming Sunday so there we go and The Never Ending Story of young Moroccans trying to get into the autonomous city of Thea in the north of Africa last week or the week before numerous people swam into Thea from Morocco and now people arrested for inciting a mass Crossing into that City third piece of news now and keeping on the subject of migration and border control and as we can read here Spain distances itself from Germany and won't close borders to contain irregular migration pressure closing borders is not an option considered by the Spanish government to control irregular migration pressure following Germany's announcement to establish temporary controls at all its land borders Spain's interior Minister Fernando Grande marasa ruled out implementing such measures reminding that the shenen Border code in articles 25 and 27 states that internal controls can only be established under extraordinary and exceptional security circumstances or when there is a security risk freedom of movement is a basic principle malaska emphasized during a breakfast event organized by Forum eropa on Thursday he recalled that Spain has only resorted to such controls in very specific security related situations such as during the NATO Summit or to manage the covid-19 pandemic so Spain not going to follow Germany and close its land borders and Spain's interior Minister Fernando Grande malaska quite clear that borders should only be closed under extraordinary or exceptional security circumstances like for example a NATO Summit or covid-19 remember that and the fourth and final piece of news now and Spain has put an idea on the table to try and make bureaucracy in this country more agile and as we can see the government has proposed creating the 18th autonomous Community a virtual region to reduce bureaucracy the ministry of economy is Seeking a new approach to facilitate the acquisition of permits and enable operations throughout Spain with a kind of unified license that is always agreed upon with the autonomous communities the ministry aims to begin working on this plan in close collaboration with regional governments to this end it has called for a sectoral conference to start identifying areas is where progress can be made in this direction the formula for developing the idea is quite imaginative the letter report on the European single Market proposes the creation of a fictitious 28th state within the EU this proposal is also included in the political program of the president of the European commission for her new term it envisions a sort of legal space where licenses and permits can be obtained quickly allowing seamless operations across all EU countries this basic harmonization of requirements would reduce bureaucratic burdens and allow businesses to operate in different states with a single license so there we go both Spain and the European Union proposing the creation of a virtual state to help speed up bureaucracy and I must say it sounds like a good idea because anybody who has dealt with bureaucracy in a country like Spain will know that it's an absolute Nightmare and if you want to operate on a national level in this country and you have to get permits from different autonomous communities wow it can be tough so let's see if this proposal gets off the ground now let's take a look at some comments that have been left on the channel recently one here from Joe the squatter issue stems from the fact squatting is seen as a civil infraction that is dealt with through legal eviction this can be timec consuming and expensive yeah Joe thanks for the comment and I believe you are correct that getting squatters out of your home here in Spain can be timec consuming and expensive and people are encouraged not to take the law into their own hands and to get an idea just how long it can take to evict a squatter from your property here in Spain we can see here in this article from a law firm here in Spain that on average from 3 to 6 months and no doubt a lot of anger anguish and stress for owners of properties in this situation but and as we saw in yesterday's live stream the problem of squatting here in Spain according to the central government is not that big of an issue and figures are blown out of ation by the right side of politics who are trying to sell you a home alarm believe it or not one here from Mikel stewartos fearmongering or not I don't know but for those who have their property kidnapped stolen it must be an absolute nightmare the laws must change to support the property owners that's what I think yeah Mikel thanks for the comment and many people no doubt would agree with you that laws in this country need to change in order to give more protection to property owners and as I said before and you also mention it there it must be an absolute nightmare for people that are in this situation people that have squatters in their properties one here from pen Ross I thought the problem with squatters was that they initially entered a property legally but then stopped paying rent and alarm wouldn't help that scenario yeah pen Ros thanks for the comment but that is just one of various ways that squaders can take over your home they sign a contract move in Legally but after a couple of months they stop paying rent and good luck getting them out and if it's a family that's considered to be in a vulnerable situation good luck with that but another way a squatter can enter your home is if it's empty or vacant they somehow force entry and change the locks and if they've been there for a while also good luck getting them out because as we saw earlier it can take anywhere between 3 and 6 months one here from Guam mess Spain at war with a conservative government in Argentina and a socialist one in Venezuela who's missing yeah Ms thanks for the comment and you're right this year 2024 Spain has had diplomatic spats with Argentina with the Malay government and now with the Venezuelan government led by Nicolas Maduro and maybe it's just me but I reckon it's not easy to have a stable diplomatic relationship with some of those Latin American countries given the type of leaders that pop up there every now and again but the good news for Spain is that these countries speak Spanish so there shouldn't be any problems communicating when it comes to trying to work these problems out one here from Sharon mudo one fair and square they don't like a president who represent the common man not the elites yes Sharon thanks for the comment and only if it were that simple that mudo won fairly and squarely those recent elections in Venezuela but unfortunately it's not that easy given the fact that it's almost impossible to have any type of opposition party in Venezuela if the leaders of the main opposition parties are not in Exile they're not allowed to run in the elections but hey everybody's entitled to an opinion and to believe whatever they want and the final comment here from Todd have anyone's pets ended up as a dinner yeah Todd thanks for the comment but as far as I know here in Spain no pets have ended up as someone's dinner but I'll just check to see if my dog's okay hi Mia how are you everything well you haven't ended up on somebody's dinner plate yet so as you can see Todd all good here nothing to worry about but I imagine it's only a question of time before the same narrative hits Spain and immigrants are accused of eating pets you can't make thisit up on that note I'm going to wrap the video up questions and comments please leave them in the section below if you have anything to add to the conversation today the comment section is the place for you give the video a thumbs up if you liked it thumbs down if you didn't I'll see you in the next one asle
