can do up front Germaine Johnson somebody that swag loves coming off of the edge quinon Williams one of the best D tackles in ball and maybe the first or second best duel between Mosley and Williams on the inside they lock up outside we get that but what are you going to do at the safety position Chuck Clark comes over from the Baltimore Ravens Tony Adams and a a former undrafted free agent can they stop Brock py from operating in between the numbers in the middle of the field we know that's where Deo Samuel lives George KD also Brandon I can make plays there and Christian mcaffrey what are you going to do with that matchup and so I'm really excited to see that and lastly if Brandon auk is only going to play a few plays he's only going to be in a few packages will that be third down and will someone like s Gardner travel with him since they know he'll be the x r see you know what's interesting man and you brought it up with CJ Mosley and Quincy Williams we know that K Shanahan wants to displace you before the ball is snapped San Francisco be what I be on that yak okay and and the thing is man is like we know that this team devastates you with tackling in the open field so you talking about two of the best linebackers in the NFL when Christian mcaffrey is spread out or they move him to the slot or they throw a little out to him can you make these plays in space to line up again and play more defense I think that's going to be critical you talk about the middle of the field as well when he's running the football on those Zone stretches and when he has those cutback situations these two linebackers to me are some of the most athletic and and fast going sideline very like in the image of San Francisco's linebackers to be honest with you I want to see when Debo Samuel and Christian mcaffry gets in face and as Quincy Williams or as Chuck Clark or as CJ Mosley can we get them on the ground and play another down cuz if not that's how they devastate you and other big thing that the New York Jets do is this little men tackle and big men run right that's the best sort of defenses and when you watch this defense that's exactly who they are the big piece is going to be how do you match up with all the movements and the Motions when they are trying to get you in space are you in man are you in cover three where you understand matching your Zone and so it's going to be about communication and that's a big way to stop the San Francisco 49ers D we look Rogers has to do looks like he'll become the seventh 40s something quarterback to start an opener tonight you talked to him yesterday how was he feeling ahead of this game yeah Laura it's been 610 days since Aaron Rogers last played a full game that was his last game with the Packers back at the end of the 2022 season so so it's no wonder why Aaron says he's got to go out there tonight and remind himself that he can do this he's got to remember that he is the great Aaron Rogers but his coaches and teammates say they need no such reminders because they say they've been seeing it with Rogers throughout training camp and preseason offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett said Rogers looks like himself and that the arm is still the arm and defensive tackle Quinn and Williams who has to go up against Rogers every day in practice he backed that up he said the ball just sounds different whizzing past your ear when Aaron Rogers is throwing it there's a a zip on it he said and you can actually hear it running back Bree Hall who got to take only one hand off from Rogers last season said he's hoping that Aaron will rely on him to take some of the offensive pressure off Hall said having Rogers back has just raised the entire team's level of play and desire to do more just face lighter boxes it also to me is game plan specific the San Francisco 49ers defense is very good not as great against the run in fact they actually rank near the bottom of the NFL in a lot of metrics Advanced metrics and run defense last year the Jets know that I think they're going to lean into it how about the 49ers and Brandon auk he was in the headlines all off season finally got that deal done over under four receptions for the Niners wide out tonight this is an over for me he hit this over uh several times last season most of the times actually most games I also have a general rule if a guy gets paid I'm usually going to beton him in his first game after the contract because I feel like he's got something to prove but also it's Brandon auk I don't think it'll be uh too challenging despite the fact that of course in SAS Garder he does have a difficult matchup yeah they like to let uh Brandon eat in this offense ba back in really April and that is that Russell Wilson should be the starter and of course for for story line sake in a bit of a Revenge game of course we all want to see Russ go out and and play up against the the Broncos in week two let's talk about Hassan reck his hold out it continues he's been away from the uh from his team for months um he's going to Forfeit 800k by skipping out on tonight's game JJ what more are you hearing about his hold out situation 800,000 for the game check that's what he's going to miss out on every game that he is not present a lot of money uh for a guy who has a base salary of a little bit more than $14 million this year looking of course for that long-term contract extension it's weird the the situation the best way that I can put it is it's weird uh not only is he going to miss out on $800,000 tonight uh he has also been fined an NFL mandated almost $5 million when you consider uh the training camp fines as well as the fines for missing all three preseason games uh we see right there he is in Elite company with what he has been able to do across various teams over the past couple of years years there is no question that Hassan reic would make the New York Jets defense team pass rush all those things better but the Jets are not going to budge on someone who is not in their building they've been very clear about that over the last couple of months it has been consistent Hassan reck show up we'll talk contract don't show up we're not talking contract and so until Hassan shows up that I don't think anything's going to change maybe he's banking on the Jets suffering so much against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night and perhaps beyond that they will come graveling back to him I don't see any NFL franchise doing that I don't see any franchise giving that sort of power over to a player certainly a non-quarterback in today's NFL and as long as he continues missing out on those game checks that's real money we don't see jack on a lot of holdouts in the NFL regular season anymore because this is clearly legitimate money you miss training camp and while $50,000 per day is a lot to not only the attention San Francisco 49ers fans today we bring you a new story that shows the most intense side of NFL negotiations Brandon aak our star receiver was on the verge of missing the 2024 season if he didn't return to practice in a very limited time window what really happened stay with us until the end of the video to find out all the details it all started in mid- August when aak was in the middle of negotiations for his contract extension as reported by ESPN's Adam schfer the 49ers sent a 5-day letter to the receiver informing him that he had to return to practice or face the possibility of missing the entire season can you imagine an ultimatum of that caliber is no small thing aak had been absent from practices due to back and neck pain which allowed him to avoid the $40,000 fines that the team could have imposed on him for not participating in training camp but everything changed when the ners made their Final Cuts to the 53-man roster and aak was medically cleared at that point the team was well within its rights to find him or even suspend him for Miss time ESPN's Nick Wagner further explained how this works under the NFL's collective bargaining agreement CBA once the league enters the regular season teams can begin finding players for missed activities such as practices meetings or curfews these finds can reach upwards of $45,000 per day if a player misses multiple events additionally teams can suspend players for up to four weeks for conduct detrimental to the team and can also impose fines that could reach up to a full week salary fortunately for aak and all of us fans this drama came to an end when he agreed to a 4-year $120 million contract extension on August 29th however tension was high until the very last moment as the 49ers reportedly told aak that if he didn't accept their final offer he would be traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers what a relief that everything was resolved in time aak is back to training and according to head coach Kyle Shanahan is expected to play in the upcoming Monday night game against the New York Jets however it's unclear how long he'll be on the field as he might have a slightly reduced role Shanahan mentioned that although aak has had a good week of training and his pain hasn't
