Moscow says its forces have recaptured around 10 settlements from Ukraine's military in Russia's K region a Russian Commander said that happened in August keev launched a surprise incursion into Russian territory on August the 6 more than two years after Moscow invaded Ukraine Yulia shapovalova joining us from Moscow so what more are you learning about this counter offensive so basically what we're hear now is more like the news published by an official Ministry of Defense Channel actually saying that the counter offensive had begun there in the KK region uh there reports like Marines of the Black Sea Fleet uh have captured six Ukrainian attack attack aircraft uh during a this counter offensive and kis but also uh there is a number of unverified reports from local sources close to the ministry of Defense saying about Russian gains in the kusk region also Chan Commander abti alino said that Russian troops have um captured several settlements in the Kus region but he didn't specify how many of them or which ones um some say that the situation on the Left Flank of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Group uh in the kusk region has worsened uh that the defense Ministry has uh transported armored vehicles across the same river there and a number of other rivers also the gusovsky district and some uh other regions um also have been um liberated as they say from the Ukrainian forces places like gva uh nzap no U vikka and number of other settlements have been captured by the Russian forces regained rather by the Russian forces so why did it take Russia uh more than a month to start fading for its territories and to regain [Applause] them well Russia has made many attempts uh to um retaliate the incursion of the Ukrainian Army into the kusk region of course since it occurred uh as you said a month ago but it failed to push them back and now it seems like Russia has accumulated enough forces to strike back uh when the ukrainians first entered the Kus region on August the 6th uh there were many voices assuming that uh now Russia would pull out some of its forces from HOV and Don's directions and that would relieve some tension in those areas but that never happened and Vladimir Putin said that that was out of the question instead Russia made some gains in donet and uh it's still to be seen how this new round of events is going to play out really but we know that US Secretary of States and British foreign office Chief um are arriving in Kiev the capital of Ukraine uh today on Wednesday so your secretary of state Anthony blinkin and British foreign secretary David Lamy are making joint visit to Ukraine um allegedly to discuss further support for Ukraine's defense against Russia and also uh the visit comes amid reports that Washington May lift restrictions on Kev kev's use of long range American missiles to strike Russian territory and even US President Joe Biden uh confirmed that it was being discussed in the white house but krin of course once again says that uh it talks about the red lines and is going to retaliate thank you Julia thank you for that reporting from Moscow make sure to subscribe to our channel to get the latest news from aler
