Is the Saints running back depth chart shakier than expected?

[Music] coming into the offseason the Saints depth chart at running back looked like it was going to kind of be set in stone but as we went through this summer program it looks a little bit shakier than maybe expected I'm Nick under and you're watching the dot presented by Matt bers Auto Group we know Alvin chimra will be the Top Dog on the running back deps chart all throughout the season and really the only hope here was that maybe Kendra Miller will push him for a spot but it doesn't look like that's going to happen so now where does that leave things we thought Miller would definitely be the number two running back but after seeing these practices it looks like Jamal Williams is actually going to probably be running ahead in that spot when training camp starts and Miller is going to have to kind of make his case now I think Miller might be the most talented guy after chimra on this roster but he needs to put it together he needs to get consistent and he needs to show that he can thrive in this new offensive system I was hoping to see kind of a big flash this summer out at these practices kind of the way he looked when he was practicing last year but that impression really wasn't made and if we're being honest Jordan Mims is somebody that kind of caught the eye more than anybody else that was in chimra throughout all these practices so it's going to be interesting to see how things shake out it might just be a case of everybody going back getting a firmer grasp of the offense coming back in the training camp and putting their best foot forward so it's way too soon to draw conclusions but I was kind of the guy that was hyping Miller all throughout the offseason and I think we're kind of actually in a spot where we need to wait and see how all that shakes out [Music]
