what's up no Nation it's the guys from plant the spear back with you for another episode and this is the one you've been waiting for the 2024 final win loss prediction where's Florida State going to end up when when all the dust settles at the end of the season are we an ACC title Contender a playoff Contender we Tak it home The Natty we're going 0 and 12 what we doing Michael we got to figure all this out we've done offensive previews for you guys defensive previews for you guys and so now we are going to get into where the rubber meets the road and do a a win loss prediction well we're going to go through our overall thoughts about this 2024 FSU team we're going to look at the schedule a little bit and then we're going to give some win loss projections here so man I'm nervous and excited to get into it because I'm telling you like my gut changes my win loss prediction about every five minutes but you know so it may surprise you at the end a little bit um you know typically I I spend a lot of time researching other opponents and whatnot and I've gotten most of them I haven't gotten to every single team yet so I'll share what I got on what we have I usually do really well with win loss predictions and and because I do all the research but man I'm a little nervous this year I'm kind of on the fence I I really don't know my guts leaning one way I may decide when we get to that point uh with that being said how are you my friend and are you ready to get into this one this is this is the one that gets clipped if you get it wrong right that's right this is the one that goes viral and everybody's making fun of you at the end of the season they got receipts I mean I'm good I I like you I you know it seems like um I went into the offseason thinking one thing and then then after the spring camp I was think or spring uh uh practices and and showcase game I was thinking maybe something else and then fall Camp started and I was really you know Giddy and I was ready to be like declare US national championships and then fall practice reports are coming out about the offense and I'm like well maybe we should slow that down a little bit so yeah I think I think I'll be like you I think I think it we're it's gonna be like a last second at the shop buzzer with uh what I think this team is going to be able to do right and I will say this too like extremely optimistic about the season I think it is going to be a really good season I think the years of of are are gone missing bowls and stuff like that I think those are gone um you know I think you have a much higher win floor this year it's just I I I think you have a tougher schedule this year and you're replacing a lot I think that's fair to say and I I do think that a couple things I want to really say before we get into this is one it's hard to go undefeated yes it is Florida's been trying what 120 years and never done it hasn't done it one time so like it's hard to go undefeated and last year Florida state did that up until the you know the end of the season when when they should have been in the playoffs and so that doesn't happen all the time and I think it's important to say that it's a different season this year you got a 12 team playoff there's a heightened importance on winning the ACC championships so you can get that automatic qualifier bid you know a 10 and two season can be everything you need it to be and can still put you in contention for the playoffs that's right you know which is a miracle after 13 and0 didn't do it last year wow so uh let's jump in but before we do that let me bring you a quick word from today's sponsor and that's our friends over at the autograph app this is the app that every sports fans should have in their rotation it has all the podcasts football season gets ready to kick off go to your app store use code spear to download it or I'll link it below to make it easy on you guys but let's get into this Michael I think the way we'll start first is because you you really made a good point there when you said you felt one way then you felt a different way then you felt I feel like my emotions have changed on this team a lot yeah in in in both ways I I still feel good I still feel good um I just think some of the areas you felt good or bad may have changed a little bit over the course of the offseason so we're going to do we're going to start with some overall kind of thoughts on this team and so let me just lay some numbers here for you to lay the foundation so in 2024 here are the facts Florida State's returning production is at 58% 83rd in the country the returning yardage is only at 24.2 116th in the country returning tackles is at 50.2% 95th in the country returning big play defense that is your sacks tackles for loss interceptions things like that 48.3% 88th in the country on the positive side that didn't sound too positive on the positive side offensive line starts are combined for 190 which is the third most in the country you have a quarterback coming back that has 40 power five starts uh some SNP plus projections which is from Bill Connelly which is a service that's pretty pretty good at what he does um the team projection is they are finishing the season ranked 12th in S&P projections uh the offense is the 21st ranked offense in the country the defense is the 10th and special teams is eth so all that sounds pretty good sounds like it's going to put us where we need to be um on offense Phil steel has your position group rankings as quarterback is uh 33rd running back is 19th wide receiver is 23rd and offensive line is at fifth woo seeing to me Alex Atkins come on uh defensive line is at 15th linebackers at 14 or 40th DB is at seven special teams at 13 so you're still up there in all of these things right and your over of course we know your over under win total is set at nine and a half Florida State is favored to win the ACC in both the betting odds and the media polls and I do want to mention that Florida State's Blue Chip ratio this year is at 53% 16th in the country this is you know if you believe in that blue chip standard something that that has been made Popular by butd Elliott for CBS Sports where it still holds I think it goes back to 2012-ish 20 where no team with a a blue chip percentage below 50% has won a national championship this is there's been some close calls Florida state was won of them in 2013 this is the first time norville's had this high of a blue chip ratio this is the first time he's been over 50% so technically if you're betting on Florida State to win a title this is the best year they've had to do it and and while this team doesn't feel as experienced you've lost a lot of your top producers from last year technically like we've talked about on paper it is the most talented team Mike noll's had and to give my overall thoughts on that I think you the thing with with all of this no matter what we talk about I think the X Factor for Florida state is Mike norel and this coaching staff I think it is one of the best coaching staffs in the country I think Mike norell is one of the best head coaches at maximizing talent in the country we've talked about on the show before where you know he has taken teams that were ranked lower in Talent rankings and I think he's like 19 and or like nine and two or something like that against he's got a really good record against teams with more talent and a really good record against teams with less Talent like not like Mario chrisal uh you know I think he's only lost two to two teams that weren't as talented as his and that was the wake and NC State Games this is in the last two years now yeah yeah we ain't talking about that dumpster fire that happened a few years ago but I'm betting on Mike Noll to to be able to assemble whatever he needs to do to put together a good team I think on offense I I like dju as a quarterback I think there are question marks there I think that is fair to say and and guys I want to keep an overall positive tone on this but we're going to be real and honest in this because because again this is the one that matters right and so I think there I think dju will have his best season in college football I think that there is the potential that he he's not special you know what I mean I think that's at least worth saying but I think he can be what Florida State needs to be with a strong running game which is what we're betting on I think the running game will be improved this year I love the stable of backs that you have I think the offensive line could be the best that under Mike Noel that we've had which is what he said I think you have more depth than you've ever had there I think two things that that for me is the wide receivers who's going to step up that's what I'm really looking for I like Malik Benson beyond that I feel like there's a lot of I hopos yeah um which which hope is not a strategy we have determined that so um that that does concern me but I think really the Lynch pin of the offense is that offensive line if that offensive line hits like we think it can I think it opens up the rest of everything else I think you can you can get away with dju and and maybe some some questions at wide receiver I think you'll be fine on offense I think it'll look a little bit different than last year but it'll still be a good offense right on defense I think you're going to have a great defensive line I'm worried about a little bit of the the depth across the entire season on the interior group there yeah as we just talked about in the defensive preview I think the linebackers I feel better about coming into the season than I did in the spring by far I think that group has taking a massive step I didn't feel bad about the secondary to start with and I feel even better about him now I think that is going to be the strength of your team the strength of your defense um and then also special teams I think is going to be an absolute weapon for you obviously with the guys that we have a kicker and kick returner and the potential of having some block kicks with Patrick pyton who's been blocking everything in Fall Camp right I think special teams could be a weapon this year and as we get into things the reason I bring I think that's so important is because I think you will have some close games this year you have a tougher schedule which we're going to talk about but I think in in close game special teams can be the deciding factor so that's really where I'm feeling I I feel good about the offense feel good about the defense maybe better about the defense than I did in special teams of course I think is really good so let me know how you're feeling about this 2024 before we get into the schedule yeah you know I I I walk into this season Jesse feeling uh moderately good um last year I was feeling very giddy is what I I would call it as I I was taking receipts from what everybody was saying it was like okay this is going to be the year we're g to cash in them receipts and from game one to Game 12 we were cashing receipts like we were billionaires right this year this year I'm feeling moderately good meaning I'm feeling I'm really excited about this defense I think this defense is going to uh like uh like we like we talked about on the defensive preview that that that that's out there so make sure you catch that show you know we think that there's going to be a little bit more yards given up maybe you maybe maybe the scoring might you know the the scoring defense might uh go down a little bit because of just the better offense are facing but we feel really good I feel really good about where that defense is at I'm confident in who they can run out there that they're going to be good and productive players I'm confident in the offensive line of of this offense this year I think it's GNA be better I mean Mike nille and Alex Ain they've been they've been saying this they've gotten you know they've got a couple in the transfer portal that they got players that are in another year in the system they supposed to be better I am Uber confident in the Run game I mean they got a stable of backs holy cow um Rodell Williams and Lawrence s Philly and kaziah Holmes and Sam Singleton and Cam Davis and mot Dany I mean you just keep going I mean they just got back after back I'm really confident where where where my confidence begins to wne and it's not because I think they're bad it's just because you just don't know it's the unknown it's the ambiguous of quarterback play and wide receiver play right um you know with the new wide receivers who's going to step up obviously we got mink Benson who was the who was the top Junior uh junior transfer uh from who to Alabama didn't didn't get as much look maybe that's the quarterback's problem maybe that I don't we don't really know but he's now projected as the number one white out for Florida State we bring jaai Douglas back who's been a consistent player for us we also add Jaylen Lucas in that play we had Jaylen Brown from the transfer portal so you just are not sure and then of course with DJ U DJ oui angay uh we we know what he has he has over 2600 snaps he has you know he's 30 and 10 I believe uh is his record and and as a college football quart starting quarterback he's had great Seasons he's had not so great Seasons so which version of dju are we getting so that's where overall I'm feeling like I said I'm feeling moderately good as an overall feeling but there are question marks Jesse that I think we won't know until until the until you know until the first kick yeah no I I definitely agree and I do encourage you guys to go watch the last three episodes that we released a deep dive on dju offense and defensive previews right because it will allow at on some things that that we're trying to keep short in this episode but no man I do agree I'm excited about what Kyle Morlock brings to the table I'm excited about a lot of that stuff but you know I do think that I think it was 2022 that I said I was cautiously optimistic because I knew how good this team could be if they hit on a lot of these transfers that weren't necessarily proven I think you have a lot of transfers now that are more proven I think I'm you know I said I I was cautiously optimistic then I think I'm nervously off optim this year because I think Florida State can win every game on this schedule yes I can also see a scenario where one or two injuries or one or two things don't pan out Knock on Wood where things go a lot farther south than maybe we expect them to so I I just think that's where I'm at but again I trust Mike norell um I also want to paint the picture real quick before we jump into the schedule that one of the things that is big about the schedule it's tougher this year and and Phil steel has us ranked as the 12th tough uh toughest schedule in college football this year last year in 2022 he had us at 61st you have four teams on your schedule that have a higher Blue Chip ratio than you do you have seven teams on the schedule that were ranked in the preseason top 40 so this is not an easy schedule I know a lot of people talk about how easy to schedule is I don't think that's the case we talked about it in the offensive def uh defensive previews the defenses on the schedule you had a couple good ones a lot of bad ones overall they look like this new schedule this year based on what we saw from 2023 and again team will change from year to year the defenses should take a small step up the offenses that you're going to face this season should be significantly better you had a lot of year one quarterbacks last year you had a lot of guys who were freshman in place of injured players uh like with Florida and Miami that's not going to be the case this year unless injury happens again you have a lot of experienced quarterbacks coming back this year you have significantly better offenses I think what do we say four in the top 50 last year seven top 50 this year four in the top 25 this year one in the top 25 last year it's going to be it's a tougher schedule man uh but I do feel good about this team I feel like we are at a place where Mike norell can reload versus rebuild and we're going to find out this year I mean this this is kind of the the the proof year of of you know whether it was just a couple of stars or or whether we got this thing really rolling but either way man I I feel really good about this team in the season and what they're going to be accomplished so right let's kind of get into this schedule here and give some of our thoughts as we run through starting with game one in Georgia Tech or in Dublin should I say with Georgia Tech on August the 24th that's a long trip man that's that's a long way to go for a game but I have heard Mike Noll talk about they have some guys on staff that were associated with NFL teams in the past that did that Europe trip y so they they kind of know how to how they're gonna they have a game plan how they're going to handle this um I'm not really gonna put travel into this game because I I think both teams have to travel both teams have to deal with the distractions and things like that now I I'm probably on an island by myself here I have said for the long that this Georgia Tech game is going to be harder than people think I think this is I even in in our top five most important games this was number one for me because you're GNA find out this is a gut check game right here you know all the distractions and stuff you're coming out against a team that has a really good offense they averaged 31.1 points per game last year They're bringing back over 80% of their production They're bringing back uh Haynes King at quarterback who is a legit dual threat guy last year 2800 yards through the air 800 yards uh over 800 yards on the ground started pretty hot and then he he waned off towards the end of the season had a couple of real kind of stinker games there but this Georgia Tech offense was I believe tied for the second most yards per play against Georgia throughout that entire season so this offense is is no joke now I know that Georgia team didn't have Brock Bowers Brock Bowers don't play defense so they also get three of their top four receivers back they get their uh returning rusher back they return four out of five offensive lineman so like this offense is going to be tough over there in Georgia Tech now now I think the good thing for this game is that Georgia Tech did not play defense last year for as good as they did on offense they did not play defense last year now they do have uh obviously they're going to be making some changes on defense but I think the good thing is it's like our question mark on our team is kind of more of our offense right and and their defense is was bad last year let's just put it that way so we have a a above average with some question marks offense against a bad defense versus a good offense versus a good defense so I think your strengths kind of way out there but man I think Georgia Tech just game one with all that continuity on offense the same play caller the same quarterback coming back and a lot of those same guys I think this game's going to be harder than people thinking and I will tell you guys that what we're going to do we're going to run through every game then at the end we're going to give our win loss uh ceiling floor and prediction so we're just gonna kind of get through some of these games this year but Georgia Tech has a hard schedule man they're they're only projected to win five and a half games I think the schedule has a lot to do with that but again with 83% production back on offense only 49 on defense even though it was a bad defense you know I I will at least say that I like Florida State in this game I'm not picking them to lose I'm just saying I I think some people have have picked this game to kind of get out of hand I don't think that's going to be the case I think that offense is gonna is going to give us a lot of problems in game one yeah yeah I would say you know last year Georgia Tech opened up the season against Louisville and that score was 3934 and Louisville had a you know pretty decent you know I a great defense but they had a pretty decent defense and Georgia Tech put up 34 points against them of course you you know the rest of the year they end up beating number 17 North Carolina 46- 42 at North Carolina I mean I'm sorry at home at Georgia Tech so they they they uh you know so that was a you know offense offense obviously no one played defense in that game they end they end up winning their bowl game against University of Central Florida you know 30 to to to 17 you know when it comes to Georgia Tech just for me now you got all the stats you're the stats guy and all stuff for me when it comes to Georgia Tech I throw it all out the window because here's why that dadgum yellow jacket has ruined so many yeah of my Saturday nights I mean Florida state has a 15 and 11 and one record all time against Georgia T it's one of the few ACC teams that Florida State hasn't been able to just like completely Dominate and separate out it just and now again now granted a lot that was with Paul Johnson and the let's let's let's take your knees out offense but um it it's just they're just so frustrating now the last time you remember at the beginning of the Mike noell era Georgia Tech uh with former quarterback Jeff Sims right came back to beat us that was the beginning of the Mike no era and then two years ago in 2022 I believe uh smok we smoked them 4116 that's right but yeah again they're projected to be you know you know better than they were last year I mean Hayes King who transferred in from Texas A&M threw for over 2800 yards 27 touchdowns had 737 yards on the ground had 10 rushing so he's responsible for 37 total rushing uh total touchdowns and of course you got to remember who the offensive coordinator is our beloved Chris winky okay yeah yeah so you know he's gonna want to win this game even though it it would break his heart a little bit to to to see his SOS lose he's going to want to win this game and he's going he he has proven to be a uh pretty decent uh co-offensive coordinator because he he's he's the quarterback's coach and co-offensive coordinator of course like you said they returned Jamal Haynes uh who had a little over thousand yards uh last year and scored eight total touchdowns there this is not going to be uh a a a walk in the park for our defense against this offense they're gonna have to actually show up and play uh because Georgia Tech's gonna throw everything they got the whole kitchen sink at them now defensively like you said they are uh last year they were like uh squish banana I mean you could just you could do whatever you want against that defense throwing a banana pill on the field would have been a better strategy than they had on defense that's right that's right that's so true I mean they were dead last in the ACC last year giv up 437 yards last season I mean a 221 yards on the ground I mean you could just run all over them and their pass defense was 215 yards as well too so you know they went out they got a new defensive coordinator I can't think of what his name is I just heard it um but they went out got a new defensive coordinator they think they're going to be they went out to the transfer portal got some players there they think it's going to be Improvement but you know un unless they went out and got Jesus Jesse I don't think it's gonna be that much of an improvement on defense yeah and the new DC is Tyler s Tui I hope I said that right he was the Duke uh Duke DC in 2023 which you know Mike Elko probably had controls of that defense but you know he's still Tage under a really good defensive coordinator there but no I agree man I think a lot of this is just the off defense that that worries me the most in this one and not to scare everybody but to give you a stat that makes me nervous if no one else uh Brent key the head coach at Georgia Tech is currently 4-0 versus ranked ACC opponents he's not he's not undefeated against ranked opponents period but against ranked ACC opponents he is 4-0 so I mean again that schedule's going to drive him down but I think that's going to be a pretty good team and a pretty tough game coming out in game one um looking at game two though Boston College you get BC coming to town gave us a scare you know we wiped the mat with him last year or two years ago in do it was just a Beatdown from from really the opening kickoff return for a touchdown that's right but last year they gave us a scare man Thomas castalanos you know regardless of what you you think about BC that kid is an X Factor and he is freaking good yeah um mostly with his legs not not so much as a passer but I did get to talk to them at um ACC media days and they said that look they understand his skill set and they are not going to re him in you know they are going to let him do what he does of course you got the new head coach Bill O'Brien actually did a pretty commendable job at Penn State back in the day then he served at B OC bounced around the NFL didn't have a lot of success there now he's back at Boston College and I think this was an absolute home run hire for Boston College oh yeah they have will lawing as their offensive coordinator uh he was an analyst at Bama with O'Brien in 21- 22 um also was with him in the NFL a little bit as well this is his first stent as an at this level he was an OC in D3 uh DC is the new DC is Tim Lewis he does have a lot of experience coaching in the NFL and the UFL but this is his first college DC job you look at castalanos coming into year two he actually only his second start against us last year and I think he went for over 350 or like 300 something allpurpose yards it was ridiculous um which again man you just got to couch that a lot of the players did have the flu in that game that that's kind of been kind of come out that it's known now but 2248 yards through the air and if you hear some of our numbers sound a little bit different that we're reading off uh some of the rushing numbers that I have are sack adjusted which is a kind of way that I like to mention them but on the ground man 1222 yards rushing with 13 touchdowns Florida State hasn't had a thousand yard rusher at a running back position since 2017 and they got a quarterback out here running for 1200 yards so I mean his turnovers were his problems last year 14 interceptions to only 15 touchdowns uh 23 sacks 20.9% pressure to sack ratio so he's still learning the position uh they do return one of their top wide receivers in Lewis Bond who was over 64 or about 646 yards last year but the problem is man with with when you look at some of the people around castalanos they do return two of the top three but some of those aren't the greatest they they did add a guy from the portal uh J Duran Bradley he did have over his career 87 receptions for 1175 yards but that was two seasons worth and then they did add a uh transfer that he didn't play a whole lot uh he was at Vandy most of his yards came against n power five teams he only had 88 yards against SEC teams in eight games so I think the problem with them is they're just not going to have enough pieces around castalanos now they do have some good running backs they got Kai roacha I think that's how you say it he is a senior did run for 780 yards last year and they also added Tran Ward this is going to be a little bit of that one with like Chris winky like you're going to feel bad about it and good about it at the same time but you know they got three of five offensive line coming back they did lose some pieces on the defense which was not their strength last year um as well but I think overall man you are just you're a more talented team than BC you get them at home this year it's their I think BC has the potential to be a better team than really than people think I I think the problem there for them is it's it's a little bit of a lack of talent across the board you have a couple Playmakers here and there but the good thing for Florida State I think is while they can be better I i' probably be more worried if you were playing BC in game 10 and game one you know game one against a new staff and a new system on both sides of the ball and you got some players to replace you know again man I I just I'm looking at this BC team and and I think that this is one that you feel good about they were 82nd in scoring offense last year 24.8 points per game 86 in scoring defense 28.3 uh seven and six on the season last year they did lose the or they did beat SMU in the bowl game which was kind of interesting but quarterback had a broken leg right but yeah man I only Pro only projected to win four and a half games this year so not a whole lot of expectations there to me BC is that game that's like don't sleep on this man this is corre do not sleep on this game but it's a night game in do first one in do of the season and you get him at your place this year under a new staff I think that that's enough for me to pick Florida State in this one but man don't sleep on BC no you you should never sleep on Boston College okay like because they walk into the game and thinking this is going to be uh whatever and then you're in the fourth quarter and you're like we might actually lose this freaking game like you should never sleep on Boston College because they always that g it when they when when you least expected they always find a way to ruin your your your especially when we used to play on Friday nights oh heed to drive me nuts um Jesse remind me castalanos was he the starting quarterback against Virginia Tech when they opened the season last year no he was not uh they had somebody else uh I forget the kid's name but they he was the one that finished the season for them the year before when they benched jovic corre he he actually came in and did good at the end of 2023 he was going to be the starter and they they worked a two quarterback system and then eventually they just went with castal Lamas correct so so the part of the part of what happened last season and and this might be making excuses so I'll go ahead and admit that but you have to think about some of the circumstances of that that game last season it was the red bandanna game right so they was already hype and emotional it was a I think it was like a nuner uh the weather was bad the weather was terrible and it was the flu game if every like half the team was throwing up on the bus on the way over and so um now they did get out to a 3110 lead took their foot off the gas and then had to hang on for dear life at the end this year I think they're coming into that I I think Adam Fuller and that defense is going to be lock Point step on castalano knowing exactly what this quarterback wants to do you know I hope they leverage a spy I kept screaming at the TV last year this guy like what are we doing here so I think they'll do that obviously you know in uh 2022 that opening I was sitting in a hotel room watching that game and that opening kickoff when he ran it to the to the house I was like this is over this is over we got to dominate this sucker that was it I would like for it to happen again now I won't be at the game Jesse because I'll be in Montana doing some other stuff so I'll have to like get off the plane and then try to see where the scores at by then um but uh I hope it's a rocking atmosphere it's opening game Labor Day night come on Florida State we got to make sure Florida State walks out of here this game is going to be determined by the fans that's what I'll say I like it and you know they did say that I know we're reduced capacity this year but they did say that one time uh in the 2021 game that they couldn't hear or yeah 2022 game that the players were having trouble communicating because of the crowd noise so hopefully that's that's uh the case again this year but yeah man I I I like I like you to be BC I just think you can't sleep on them you know what I mean they're they're a team that can give you trouble with castalanos but like you said they should have a better game plan against castalanos this year and if you have less pieces to work around him you can kind of hone your focus in on him but I do want to touch on one thing I'll throw it about to you and we'll pick up the pace a little bit here but I do think it is important to remember everyone talks about how close that game was and trust me buddy it was close we were clinching and during that one but they still went on a 280 run it still was 31 to 10 towards the end of that game and we just kind of goofed around and let it kind of slip away so but that game was it was closer on the end but it wasn't as close as it really felt so at least we'll throw that in there yeah yeah absolutely and I just wanted to say this just for as we're going through this is that Flor state has won five straight against Boston College and they've won 12 out of the last 13 uh and they've been extremely dominant at home there's only been one game in the last I think five matches at home where it's been even close there's a 22 2217 Victory by Florida 2221 Victory by Florida State in 2018 that was a tager Eric dude tag yeah they were all close or not close deping which way you looked at it that's right all right so the next game up is a fun one Memphis against Mike noll's old home Squad I know that he's got a special place in his heart for Memphis we do too because they were really uh gracious fan base when when despite us taking our coach now I will say the thing about Memphis is first off I'mma pray for anybody who is at this game you included Michael because it is a noon game in September oh man I'm going be right here in this studio watching that game waiting to do that that post game because I made a promise to myself years ago at the Boise State game that we would not do any more noon games in the month of September so uh you guys have fun with that but I think this is a this is an interesting game dude I to me I know you're going to hear me say this quite a bit through as we go throughout the schedule it's not a game that I think you lose but I think it's a game you do not roll your helmet out there and expect to win there a lot of people that have Memphis getting into the playoffs as the number one G5 team I mean they went 10 and three last year uh they had the six rank scoring offense 39.4 points per game now I do have to say that they only averaged 23 point or 27.3 points per game against the top 25 scoring defenses they face they played a lot of bad defenses in The American or or whichever they play and I think it is the American um they faced five defenses ranked outside of the top top 100 so they kind of feasted on some bad defenses last year but I mean this is a really really good offense now they do have the same problem Georgia Tech had they just kind of forgot to play defense last year uh 28.8 points per game given up 95th in the country and they only faced one top 25 offense uh and three ranked below a 100 so it wasn't like it was the toughest out there when you look at some of the advance metrics they actually finished with the 18th ranks offense and the 100 and Ninth ranked defense when you factor in competition so it was not that great for them they are projected to win n and a half games this year so I mean 74% returning production on offense 65 on defense uh so they they have some production coming back they are expected to have a good season you know and then also uh when you look at the quarterback and again like I said you got to look at this is against G5 competition and whatnot there but when you look at the quarterback situation here Seth henan is a legit dude I mean he is going to be a fouryear starter uh at Memphis he is right now he has eclipsed the 3,000 yard Mark in all three of his starting Seasons I mean Memphis has a good history of quarterbacks and and he's a really good one so that's what makes you nervous anytime a team has a really good quarterback they also returned three of their top receivers including a guy that's 63 215 pounds a senior Rock Taylor that was a thousand yard receiver last year um you know that's just they got some weapons on this offense man now they did lose a really big running back for them uh Blake Watson who put up over, 1600 allpurpose yards and 17 touchdowns last year but they have some dudes there as well um so I you know I think it's again it comes back to where their offensive line has a little bit of struggle here they did lose three starters so I think that's a place where you can you know your defensive line can help you win this game and then also on the defensive side like we said man there they just did not play good defense this or last year so I'm thinking that you know you should be able to to kind of you should be able to move the ball on this defense let's just put it that way it's a G5 defense and not a good one you should be able to move the ball on this defense it's just you're gonna have to stop that offense so I I think I'm more worried about like Georgia Tech than Memphis in a weird kind of way just because of you know that power five versus G5 but man I Memphis is not a game you can sleep on this is this offense is legitimate and you know I I I don't know how much it's worth but I will say that like Ryan silverfield is the head coach at Memphis who was the off line coach for Mike Noll he knows Mike Noll Mike Noll knows him Adam Fuller probably knows their guy they know Adam Fuller a little bit so they there's going to be some interesting things to do I actually asked Mike norell at ACC media days have you have you kind of had any side Wagers any bets any any crap talking or whatnot he's like he did text me but he had yet to respond so yeah man I I just again I I think the defense is going to be the difference here for us and we'll see man but again I think this is another game that's harder than it looks yeah harder it's a hell of a lot harder than Southern Miss was last year I'll put it to you L for sure like I mean you look at this team and you just think okay you know this is this is Mike nll having the team that his first head coaching job come back you know obviously this is a favor he's been doing he's he's doing for them because normally nobody's playing a team like Memphis you know who who's had some success you know you're gonna play a lower G5 team like a Southern Miss or something like that so this is this is a favor being done uh to to uh for Ryan saterfield or saterfield yeah Sil silverfield the Silver Dude um but Memphis is an interesting case and and in and it's not that I'm worried necessarily about Memphis in a sense I'm more so worried that this is a game that they don't get up for this is a game that it's a ner it's in September you know if it's a if it's if the heat is where it's going to be it's going to be scorching right yeah and so you just kind of worry about like the players actually getting up for it and showing up and bringing their best to that uh you know last year in the bowl game they won that game which is a big 12 matchup they lost to SMU um and then outside of that they didn't really play I mean they played Missouri and they I mean they they hung with Missouri they went um they played on neutral site they U they lost 27 to 34 so they they have some experience playing Power five power four teams as well here's some interesting stuff about Memphis believe it or not this is the first matchup since 19 1990 okay that's crazy yeah first match up Memphis or Florida state is 10 and seven and one against Memphis here's the here's here's what's wow Memphis won the first seven of 11 games of the series okay but then Florida state has won the last um last eight games against him like I said they they haven't played since the 90s so this will be a kind of refresher of that again I don't worry about this game unless I I I noticed that the players are not taking this as seriously but you know Mike he's gonna have them ready to go uh yeah Jacksonville State right I I think this is one where I almost I hope Mike Novo has it in his heart as much love as he has for Memphis to put the nail in the coffin early you know what I mean like like you said man I'm just more worried about I could see this being one of them games where maybe you don't get up for it right away right you're a better team than Memphis you're more talented than Memphis you have a better defense than Memphis and this game is sold out too right it's going to be I think you you know you the fans probably won't show up to the second quarter you know I I again I do think this is a game that you should win I just think it's not a game that you can Sleepwalk through and again that's The Narrative of this schedule man there's last year you could pencil in like this is probably going to be a win this is probably going to be win there's a good four or six teams on the schedule if you if you f around they can they can find out yeah right and I will say when you look at this next one there's a lot of people that pencil this in as it just an easy oh cow oh yeah we're going to whoop them coming over from the Pack 12 they're not ready for all this I'm just going to say that I do think Cal is going to be a tougher game Than People expect it to be I still think Florida state is able to get the win here and we're going to get into win loss projection later but I still think you're going to be able to win this one I still think you should win this one I just think it's going to be a little bit tougher and what's going to be interesting is we're going to find out how good this Cal team is because two weeks before they play you they travel to Auburn and they play that game and you know they had Alburn on the ropes last year and if it wasn't now Auburn you know was a hit or miss they almost beat Alabama they got hammered by somebody South Alabama or something like that New Mexico state New Mexico State it's like they had them on the ropes last year if it wasn't for Miss field goals they would have knocked alurn off and so if they go out there and beat him in Jordan ha you better focus on this game right I don't think it's G to happen but they were six and seven last year they did have a 28 uh strength of schedule they're scoring offense 30.2 points per game pretty you know pretty okay or uh not great but not bad tied for 48 there um their defense was atrocious 14th in the country now we know those Pack 12 offenses are really good but here's the thing man when they fac a good offense holy cow four top 25 offenses three against the power five gave up an average of 57.3 points per game they got absolutely smoked on defense so I think it's a good thing like we talked about in the defensive preview a lot of these early games were teams that didn't play defense and that'll give your time your offense time to get up the speed uh do keep in mind last year dju was 19 to 25 for 275 and five touchdowns against Cal so that right there should tell you uh that it that it's he's got this one figured out maybe a little bit but even in the advanced rankings their defense was only ranked 60th so 114th to 60th that tells you they played some pretty good offenses there as well the thing that really now I will say we'll talk about let me talk about the defense in a second but they play a weird really weird defense and I actually had to go look it up because I was like what the heck is going on um I think they they actually play a two defensive linemen four linebackers and five DBS it's super confusing they just bring some big Hefty linebackers up towards the the line scage it's super weird maybe that's why they're 114th in defense y'all stop stop doing that California weird stuff it's time to play some some normal defense bunch of hippies um but so when you look at the offense I think this is where you could see a little bit of issue here we know Florida state had a pretty bad rushing defense last year in the 70s it wasn't it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either that's the area that we struggled um we talked about in the defensive preview KY has one of the best running backs in the entire country and that's Jaden a I actually picked him to be my my you know first team all ACC this year I mean the guy ran for over, 1300 yards uh on the ground last year and I think he missed time in three games so 1315 yards 5.3 yards per carry and Miss time in three games so I mean that guy is he's a legit legitimate running back man he's he's if you don't button up that run defense this year he can hurt you uh now they did lose some pieces on the offensive line but they returned three of them and then I think when you look at the quarterback situation they did go with a red shirt freshman last year they rotated a lot of quarterbacks and then they finally settled on red shirt freshman Fernando Mendoza uh he did start the last three games had a 63% completion percentage threw for 178 yards and 14 touchdowns with 10 interceptions as a red shirt freshman in eight games not bad numbers by any means now I will say it is funny I got to talk to this kid at ACC media days one of the best brightest interviews of a kid that I had out there he's actually from Miami uh he actually yeah he's actually a Florida kid he said he was a got a pwo offer at Miami but he got a full ride at Cal so he's familiar with the rivalries he's familiar with the Florida heat I asked him about that too I said you ready for that humidity he said I grew up in South Florida I know all about it um but I think this is another case man this is like this is literally copy and paste for the first couple of games here I think this is a game you should win I think that offense is something you better watch out for I think the defense you should have no problem putting up points this may be a shootout type of game I think your defense if you button up against the Run they're in trouble but if you don't button up against the Run Jade KN can hurt you yeah yeah yeah listen I'm I I I I was listening to you and I was trying to map out this two four five defense like I have never heard of anything dude I had to go watch film because I was like what kind of what in the world and I I lived in California I'm like I don't remember us playing defense like that out there but uh you know the thing is this like you said it it it's copy and pce man if Florida State shows up defensive or offensively they're going to score points as long as they don't turn the ball over and then defensively man lock down the run if you lock down the Run you'll shut this team down because that's their bread and butter that's what they're that's what they're going to try to do to they're going to try to shorten the game they're going to try to wear you down and then try to catch you over the top with something that what you're not expecting so show up put this came to bed early let us party we'll be good to go exactly maybe they'll have a few extra brownies on the plane over and forget what they came there for so all right let's pick up the pace a little bit so we can get this in up next is the game that I think a lot of us are a little bit worried about and that's SMU now there it's funny because there's a 50-50 on this I think a lot of people are like y'all are worried about SMU and then there's a lot of people that are like you should be worried about SMU yes yes I think the the big thing for me with SMU is it's it's got that trap game feeling man it's it's your first true Road game it's the week before Clemson and I think it's a much better team than people think now I'm not worried about Road aspect from like a it's an intense environment I think they their Stadium only holds 25,000 they only averaged around 22 or 23 last year I think this game's already sold out and I think you're gonna have a good portion of FSU fans there yeah so I I'm not worried about that it's just on the road that road environment that road trip the week before Clemson that worries me the most and SMU is a good team team they were the best non power five team last year they were the most talented non power five team last year I think they were actually more talented than six ACC teams last year uh so that that is worth talking about and this team is absolutely loaded with power five transfers so it is only G5 by definition they're not even G5 anymore uh 11 and three last year like we said that third loss that came against Boston College in the bowl game their quarterback broke his leg we know something or two about having some some quarterback strugles there uh you know and and and losing your ball game we won't talk about that so I think what's interesting though is last year you look at that 11 and three 122 in the strength of schedule so they pretty weak schedule it's gonna be a massive jump for them this year scoring offense this is the first team you're running into that played both uh scoring offense 38.7 points per game eighth in the country scoring defense 17.8 11th in the country so they did play some good defense last year but that has to that has to come with a little bit of an aster there because when you look at some of the numbers that they did against Power five yes it was a completely different team and and even when you look at all the just the their win loss against Power five I mean it's not going to be it's not impressive they're one and five versus Power five teams under Rett Lashley and their only win was against a 5- seven TCU which I think was even before he got there um they do actually play TCU right before they play Florida State so that's going to be interesting uh to kind of see how things go there but I mean this is a team you look at that P5 versus G5 discussion so against G5 competition they put up 43.1 points per game but against Power five teams that number plummeted to 14 points a game that is a massive massive difference but again you get Preston St at quarterback starting again this year he gets basically his top seven targets back at wide receiver so I mean that's again that that continuity that that was a good offense last year um in the backfield they do have Jaylen knon formerly of Miami right so you will recognize him as well they also have a former Texas A&M transfer a former Bama transfer back there I told you this team is loaded with power five transfers up front they do have one of the better offensive lines in the AAC last year but they do have to replace three starters however again they brought in more power five transfers uh so I think the offense is is going to be pretty good you know I think that is a good strength for them again it plays out versus Power five teams we'll have to wait and see now to the defense real quick I wanted to point out that P5 versus G5 again they allowed 17.8 points per game total and that number went up to 28.3 versus a power five team so again the numbers look completely different so for me you know when you look at this defense and and this offense combined I mean again they have they did very well last year yeah but the story against Power five teams is completely different different now granted they lost to Oklahoma last year that was a pretty good team um and then Boston College again with the broken leg thing so I don't know man I don't know what to make in this game I think it's harder than people think I think it's a in a trap game position I think you should be able to beat this team but this is probably you know just from a just from a straight up like I'm nervous about an upset type of game this is probably number one on my list yeah definitely this is the first time Florida state will will have played SMU in the history of it of of the school and this game comes right before probably one of the more most important games of the Season against Clemson but like you said last year they went to Oklahoma and they lost 2811 then they went to TCU and lost 3417 and then of course um they lost the bll game against Boston College 2314 but their quarterback had a broken leg they did beat tlane in the uh American uh championship game 2614 that was their only ranked win win from last season but they're 0 and three last season against power power for power two whatever you want to call it uh Power four uh school so I think Flor State can win this game I don't think it's going to be easy I think it is a trap game there's a likelihood that they put this game a as a ner too as well and uh you know in that 25,000 uh stadium and so of course this is the Dallas Fort Worth area so we're assuming a lot of Flor State fans will be there and be around and man if you are get in that game let let let's make our pres known like we did with Wake Forest how we took over snuggy Hill let's go take over uh Southern Methodist University as they're called um I think Florida State should win this game but if they again rinse and repeat if they don't show up this could be an upset yeah I think this is the one that you that you worry the most that could be one of those upset games but yeah I I I still think you should come out and win this one and I will say that Oklahoma game was 14 to 11 in the fourth quarter so they it was pretty close and so again you cannot sleep walk through this game uh now up next like you mentioned you hinted at the one of the most important games on your schedule and that's against Clemson I think this is going to be one of the most fun and interesting games of the season it's obviously already sold out inside dope Campell Stadium I cannot wait for this one it's going to be fun so many cool storylines you knock them off For the First Time and Forever last year in Death Valley you get him at home this year you got dju on your sideline you know he's going to be motivated to kind of you know get back at at the staff that told him maybe he wasn't good enough to play quarterback there as well when you look at Clemson 35th in Phil steels experience ranks 53rd in returning production 79% on the offense which was kind of their weak point last year 49% only on defense which was their strength that's where I think things are going to shift a little bit here uh scoring offense last year 29.8 points per game 52nd uh scoring defense still good at Clemson TI for 30th 21.1 points per game now you know for me man it really when you look at Clemson last year it was the just the Red Zone issues they were 121st in Red Zone scoring yeah I mean they just klubnik was was calling his own plays and fumbling balls throwing interceptions and so like when you when you look at it I mean when you look at their turnovers they were 108th in turnovers lost last year but they were it's it's kind of crazy because they were actually tied for first and turnovers gained last year so like I think what you're seeing so far with this Clemson team is that defense is still maintaining that's right that offense is kind of floundering and like I I acknowledge that Clemson still has good coach good talent they're one of they're still I think one of the top 10 most talented teams they are one of the teams that have the higher Blue Chip ratio than you they got the talent to win games yes they I'm one of the ones that I'm not as high on Clemson as people think I I think you're gonna have to have Kate clubnet take a massive step I think you're gonna have you don't have will Shipley anymore I think mafa is a great back but he's by himself now I'm not really scared of of a whole lot of anything they got a wide receiver there um you know Bo Collins transferred out and they've had a freshman lead the last two years now they get some guys back from injury their offensive line has has kind of struggled a little bit recently we talked to our friend at Clemson football live about that and and he's hoping that you know that's something that they can get fixed this year the defensive line is interesting man they lost all four starters three or four of those guys were NFL draft picks uh you do return two really good guys and Peter woods and TJ Parker and again a bunch of talented guys that do have experience to step in with them uh but they're not as experienced up front and they don't have quite as much much depth so we'll see how that plays out linebacker again they bring back baric Carter but they lose Jeremiah trer who's an NFL guy that's a big drop off I mean Wade woodz is the guy that's gonna step in there but he's he's not Jeremiah troter um and then they do have some good DBS there it's just a talent situation but they only bring back one experienced Corner they lost makuba uh they lost their their safeties U I forget the kid's name um but they lost him as well and so I think when you look at Clemson at the end of last year they did win five games in a row they were plus 92 yards per game in ACC games even though they were four and four so it's again a lot of that points to the turnovers and the mistakes that cost them the issues they're super talented man they are super talented they but they lost a lot and let me just give you some interesting numbers here and I'll kick it to you because I think Florida State can win this game I do um I just think I think these programs are on two different trajectories and I'm just not super sold on Clemson we'll see this is a big year for davo this is a really big year like can you do it or not but when you look at at season total averages right for your offense and your defense over the past few years Clemson's last National Title was in 2018 in that season their margin of victory for their points scored and points allowed throughout the season was plus 31.2 after that it dropped to plus 30.4 plus 23.3 plus 11.5 plus 12.3 last year was plus 8.9 they have consistently dropped and dropped and dropped in how dominant they have been and so man I just again it's a talented team it's Clemson you beat him once in what seven years but at the same time like I I just think Florida state gets it done in Tallahasse I think dju is gonna have a big game in this one man I just again I'm not super sold on this being in the year for for Clemson yeah yeah you know with h man this is the game that in the ACC outside of Miami in the ACC every year I I like sweat bullets for uh because they've become they they they are still a perennial ACC Championship team still seven out of the yeah seven out of the last nine exactly even though we de Throne them last year they're still a team you have to contend with they still have Uber amount of Talent on that defense even though they did lose their their their defensive line their four starters there they're they have they have guys for days to to back them up now is it the same amount of talent that they had during when they were winning the title No but it's still pretty good yeah they still have a a the potential to have a allor quarterback if he can grow into the the Legacy that he the height that he had coming out of high school as well too they still have pretty good uh Talent skill players and wide receiver and running backs now it's not the same type that they had when they had deshun Watson when they were winning national titles but it's still there and so again like you said man this is a this is a pivotable year for dabble Sweeny I'm not saying that if he has a terrible season they going to fire him but I would say that the crowd will basically completely turn on him um if if he doesn't do that because he's been completely against the transfer portal he's you know we nil is for Jesus as he says and listen I'm a man of the Lord but I don't like you using nil for that that just makes no sense whatsoever um the the thing I keep going back to is something that the legendary may he rest in peace Bobby bow used to say when he was building for estate is that you you lose big then you lose small then you win small then you win big yeah Mike nll for State this is a win big season so with that I am I am going to nervously say this is going to be this is this is when we see that that Florida State walking into to De Valley and win 5114 kind of thing I think that's what's gonna happen this year I'm calling the shot right now I love it hey Babe Ruth go ahead and go ahead and point that thing to Center let's go I'm calling it right now I do think like when you look at Clemson again to me I think it's you know we talked about this in off or in the dju Deep dive there was a lot of talk about how Talent covered up the deficient season scheme and I think that's still the case I think they have great talent because they've recruited well for so long but the scheme is just not quite there and I think this is where you see Mike norell that that evil eyed focused Mike norell I think he's going to want to make a statement in this game you know want dju to have a big game and so I think as as long as you can avoid getting too high for this game and you can avoid the mistakes I think you can beat Clemson I don't know that it's going to be a blowout but you know again I I already said I didn't pick them to make the ACC Championship so I'm not as high in Clemson as a lot of people think so the next one is Duke Friday night in Durham welcome back to the ACC Manny Diaz who is a uh you know former FSU guy we just had to get him away from that dump down south before we could actually celebrate him as one of our own but you know Duke actually had two pretty recent years the past two years under Mike Elco of course they probably would have had a better season last year had Riley Leonard not have got hurt but you look at last year scoring offense 26.9 points per game 68th in the country uh scoring defense tied for 16th in the country at 19 points a game again Elco great defensive mind great defensive coach um now you get Manny Diaz steps in a head coach your uh new OC is Jonathan Brewer to co OC at Southern Miss Southern Miss had a 96 rank uh offense last year so I don't know who you hir but you know I mean I could have used a little I'm close to Durham you could hire me I can pull out some NCAA 25 offense um then the new DC is from Texas State he was a DC there last year allowed 33 points per game in 2023 again Manny what you doing uh but Manny will probably be calling the defense there that's right uh to really we we'll make it short and sweet on Duke they lose Riley Leonard that definitely hurts but they bring in Malik Murphy when I saw they got Malik Murphy I was like holy cow they just got a festar from Texas right guys got incredible athletic ability got a size he was at ACC media days I was like bro you are way bigger than you should be but I've heard it's not gone swimmingly well in Camp so far I've heard it's not been there so I think you're going to have a little bit of drop off at quarterback there which keep in mind Riley Leonard because we're gonna talk about him for Notre Dame he was more of a more of a running guy I was more scared of his legs and his his arm uh running back they did lose their leading guy uh I think it's Jaylen Waters he went to NC State and so they're going to be kind of rebuilding a little bit there at running back but they do have jaquez Mo back who who was a 600 plus yard rusher so he's good there as well um they do have a good receiver Jordan morbach number one ride receiver for them 62 receptions 835 yards and so I mean they got they got a little bit of of talent at wide receiver they were also brought in a ODU uh Old Dominion transfer um your offensive line they lost four starters and two were NFL draft pick so that's going to hurt they brought in I looked it up they brought in some guys from the power five uh one of the guys from UCLA was a left tackle 13 game starter PFF grade was 37.3 and if you have been paying attention that's not great I would have a PFF grade of 37.3 and probably a blown out hamstring um and a bunch of FCS starters so the the I mean again you're probably taking a step back at quarterback probably taking a big step back at offensive line um and so you just kind of got a couple of Playmakers there on the defense Manny always had a good defense pretty much Miami but you lose all your starters up front at defensive tackle nose guard DN uh you just you lost pretty much everybody lost 27 game starter at middle linebacker 26 game starter at Nickelback um you know I linebacker should still be the strength of this defense but you lost some pieces uh DBS they were 26 in the past defense ratings last year for Phil steel but they did lose a quarterback in a safety two do return five have experience not a bad group just not a high-end group right um it is a bye for both teams prior to this Friday night meeting in in Durham looking at their schedule do could very well still be four- two to 5 and one coming into this game with a pretty easy early schedule minus UNCC and Georgia Tech but man they get FSU SMU at Miami at NC State and then Virginia Tech that's a that's a bit of a tough run there Gauntlet yeah exactly so I mean Manny is two and one against FSU but you know that's when that's when Florida state was floundering real bad so not a whole not really sold on Duke doing much this year no if I if I'm correct Manny got the last of tager the first of Mike Ville and the second correct right yeah okay that's what I thought the fourth and 14 yay I love that time sorry Benny um yeah I mean listen Duke is 0 and 22 in its history against Florida State their best shot at winning came last season actually I believe that their best shot at winning came last season and it was 3820 or something like that it was 3820 they had Florida State down at the half 2017 um and then of course Florida State took over and scored 21 unanswer points in the fourth quarter to win that that game going away I was at that game the stadium it was rocking Duke was ranked it was the only time they've ever been ranked in a ranked match against Florida State the only thing that gives me just a bit of pause normally I'd be like Duke win go we're done this game is a Friday night bro yeah I'll be there and you'll be there and Florida State um Florida State uh every time we play on Friday night I just like go hide in a corner because we just have had the worst luck on a Friday night I mean all the Boston colleges all the Lost uh the NC State games that we've lost on Friday nights like I just uh that's the only thing that gives me just a little bit of a but you know what's great though is that this is coming this game comes off a bye which is nice so we can refocus our team yeah I'll be there and I you know we got that 22 and0 record to defend so hey look I'll run on the field and make a sack from the stands if I got to I ain't letting that happen uh but yeah man I think you should I think you should kind of beat Duke Handley this year yeah but like I said I'll be there we're going to look at maybe doing a tailgate for that one for if you're in that area or considering going to that game uh so definitely check that out now the be the big one the big one and I mean I know you're gonna a lot of people consider Notre Dame the big one this is a massive one and that's Miami obviously this is huge now Miami Miami is the definition of doing less with more you know they they they have had so much talent over the years you know they have the thing that's funny with them man is like they have had a top two or three ACC roster the entire time they've been in the league pretty much as far back as I could get the 247 Talent rankings to load and they've won the coastal the terrible Coastal one time and got their face kicked in by five touchdowns that's right so like here's my take on Miami this year and again we're going to try and kind of roll a little bit faster this because we're running you guys a little bit longer expected but with Miami they should win 10 games this year they should make the ACC Championship Game this year they got a relatively soft schedule you get I think Florida State and you get Virginia Tech those are really your two hard ones there you got Florida and the swamp to open up they got all the talent you know in the world they got Restrepo at receiver they got that uh the other kid I can't think of his name right now receiver who's also pretty good Kobe George I think it is um you know they got cam Ward at quarterback now let me give you my my quick take on cam Ward I don't think cam Ward is as good as people think and that's just me I think he's a good quarterback he's put up insane numbers against insanely bad defenses he throws the ball 500 times a season congratulations a lot of people can throw for a lot of yards when you throw it 500 freaking times a season so interesting stat Michael cam Ward we already know about the sacks we already know about the turnovers we already know about all that stuff I mean he's had what a thousand turnovers in in two years like okay 21 turnovers in 2023 18 turnovers in 2022 uh his qbr last year was 65.2 which was 50th in the country 40 plus sacks in both years at Washington State over a 20% pressure to sack ratio in both years at Washington State I get that he probably was trying to make a lot of things happen there for a not great team but he's number three in quarterback own pressures which means the most that he's responsible for um and then he also is 33rd in PFF path pass grade 39th in Big Time throw rate DJ was 13th 55th in turnover worthy play rate 11th highest in pressure to sack ratio so 30 second NFL pass rating I can keep going they're the numbers are not great but what's most interesting to me and I've been saving this one for a while okay did you know fun fact of the day cam ward has never in his career at Washington State because I ain't counting the Incarnate Word has never faced a top 25 passing defense that's a power five team never not once in his entire career at Washington State he faced one at Fresno State and Colorado State both nonp power five teams and in that year both of like Colorado State faced Air Force that's an option team they threw for zero yards so obviously they're pass defense got a sizable bump but so far of power five teams I think the hardest one and I'm just kind of checking my notes real quick the hardest one that he's ever played uh I think was Wisconsin at 29th that's it so he is never played a slate of defenses like he's about to find out in the ACC and I think that is why I'm not saying cam Ward's not good I'm saying I'm not as sold on him being the Heisman winner that's leading Miami back to the Glory Days uh that that people think they are because I mean even then when you look at you know they're talking about they're gonna let him air it out a little bit more he's got a you know got a air raid guy there but look at Mario chrisal you know they did not throw the ball a ton when they had Justin Herbert and so like if he right I think it was around 46% of the time they threw the ball with Justin Herbert so you know they got talent up front on the offensive line but they did lose a few pieces so you're wondering how those new pieces are going to jail they got a dangerous running back and Damen Martinez from from Oregon state that came in that was DJ's running back so they should be good on offense on defense they secondary lost a lot of pieces it wasn't a good secondary last year they lost both safeties and I think a corner so I think their their back end of the defense could be sketchy front end of the defense we know they lost some pieces on defensive tackle uh Leonard Taylor I know they lost I think they lost a couple other guys there the defensive end they got Ruben Bane that's kind of what they're banking on you know and they got some they got uh the Maui NOA guy at linebacker as well but man I mean they got talent they got pieces it's year three they got their quarterback I'm just not sold on the coaching and I'm not sold on cam Ward being that guy when he plays tougher defenses yeah listen you know Miami has recruited in exceptionally well I mean they they are undefeated in the offseason recruiting I don't know how many national championships they won in the offseason but it seems like a lot in the last 20 years um the problem has been is that they haven't been able to actually win some on the- field championships over the last 20 years exactly and every year every dadgum year Miami fans get into my mentions get into your mentions and they want to talk that is they want to talk it over and over again that this is the year the U is back the U is back now let me go ahead and give them their flowers they have a uber Talent team this team is really talented Mike norell I mean Mario chrisal is an incredible recruiter absolutely no hands down about it um you know they may even say you might even say he's a better recruiter than Mike nll is okay he can get the guys that's for sure they should have a better offense than they had last season for sure but the problem I have is the fact that what changes a chameleon is always a communion no matter how much it changes its skin color right no matter how much it changes its camouflage and Mario Chris Ball is a guy that wants to run the ball and play defense he had NFL draft pick Justin Herbert and he didn't throw the ball as much he had TVD who was probably one of the best quarterbacks coming out of the H high school at that time period and he drove him into the ground what do you what what makes anybody think that cam Ward's gonna get the same kind of Freedom or get any kind of Freedom that he didn't give one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL right now right it's not gonna happen so I I'll believe it when I see it now if if they if they start throwing it the rock all around okay then maybe I'll believe it also cam Ward was one of the most turnover prone quarterbacks in the portal last season now yes I will admit before you Miami fans get into our YouTube comments yes we wanted cam Ward we did yes we also wanted DJ you we wanted both we wanted to try to get one of them we got the one we wanted you got cam board congratulations to you he still was turnover prone had he come to Florida State that's the conversation we having right now well can he keep the ball can he not fumble it can he not have an interception again you just mentioned Jesse he has not faced a top 25 passing defense in the power five conference like that is a problem yeah so I I'm not predicting anything right now about Miami I'm just laying out the facts there about where we are right now Florida state is seven and two in the last uh nine games in at Miami like that's why we call it do South yep probably gonna be eight and I hope so so yeah and you know I mean that's the one game they show up for and but it's still 50% FSU fans in so should be a little HomeField Advantage for us there as well and I will just say that they are 82nd in in experience rank for Phil steel uh 66% returning production 79 on offense only 53% on defense so they've lost a lot too let's not make no mistake about that correct and I do think it's interesting when you talk about TVD this was a guy that when he was a freshman coming out it was oh we got an NFL quarterback right here and then it went to oh he's sucks get him out of here and they brought in puffenberger and then they send you know they sent him up the road to the Big 10 and and Luke fickle comes out and says yeah Miami ruined TVD and you know then they got cam Ward so like again man I just I think Miami should be good this year I think they they could be good I think uh cam Ward could be great I I think he could very well win a Heisman we said that when he was going to come to Florida State when we thought he might that he's a very high ceiling very low floor type of guy DJ was a a less maybe high ceiling but higher floor type of guy so it's a gamble that Miami needs I don't think Florida State needs dju to win a Heisman to win games I think I think they need him to have a Heisman type of season but you know 31 and a half points per game last year tied for 39th on offense defense was 44th in the country allowing 22.8 points per game so you know man again like I said we're we're going to see how this one plays out but I'm not as sold on the Hurricanes even though they should be good I mean they should be good uh next up is UNCC this is a team that's got a lot of turnover you know to make quick work of this man they got a really really good running back Omari on Hampton uh they have a quarterback competition going on right now uh you got you got the Johnson kid that comes in from by every other team in the SEC that he played at LSU Texas A&M now here you know Brad Johnson's kid shout out respect to you uh you know but he he's he's traveled around more than an NFL quarterback has um I think he probably will end up being your starter they had another kid that played for Drake May last year that does have some experience uh they're pretty much starting over at offensive line pretty much got all new starters now I did talk to m brown at ACC media days and he said they got a couple of guys that are 68 300 pounds so like they got some some massive trees there that doesn't mean they're going to be any good so right um we'll wait to see they still have some stuff at wide receiver although they did lose their their top guy last year um or or maybe they're second I forget the guy that got suspended I can't think of his name um this is the team that for me with UNC to sum it up they do have a new defensive coordinator they got uh Jeff Collins that used to to be the Georgia Tech guy I think I've heard some of the staff that's been responsible for the bad defense is no longer there now how fast they flip that we'll see UNCC still has talent they they are actually one of the more talented ACC teams but they this is a team that has not been able to put it together despite having two NFL quarterbacks you know back to back basically and Drake May's not there anymore um you know and and I've drawn a blank on the other guy I want to say sam Harman but it's not um Sam how Sam how Sam almost ended up here uh they don't have either one of them guys so I think it's going to be a little bit of a step back year obviously they're always good on offense some way somehow they don't really play a whole lot of Defense I think this is the game Florida State should win just from a talent and and experience Edge yeah I agree too Florida state is seven and three in their last 10 matchups also Florida state is 17 and three in their entire day history against North Carolina North Carolina's only been able to beat him three times and I remember one particular one I was watching as a little kid where uh a running back by the name of Greg Jones ran over a kid and they should have called the cops on that dude because he was dead y'all want to see a dead body I mean I mean the the hit I watched the replay of it the other day and the guy's helmet came flying off yeah like you said this offense is starting basically all over again uh Drake May's gone off to the NFL they ma Brown can recruit he has recruited ma Brown former FSU graduate just so everybody knows has never yep never beaten Florida State yep and so uh yeah I I I think Florida State this is at home Florida should win this game uh if they show up and they play the game it it it yeah they should win yeah I think the home will play a difference even though you know we all had that one where the freaking kicker was running and doing all that stupid stuff but yeah man I mean watch out for the offense but but at the same time I think that's I think that's good there um with UNCC I think they just lost a lot and they they haven't really been you know m brown specials man like I keep talk talking about you just losing the most questionable game so the next one we're going to come to here is the big one Notre Dame this is the biggest game of the season by all means if it is what it turns out to be uh you know they're a top 10 preseason team you're number 10 in the preseason if both teams follow that trajectory this could be a top 10 matchup you know at Notre Dame at nighttime Big Time game I think there's two interesting things to take away from this Michael first off is that a lot of people think this is the game we're going to lose I would say 99.9% of the people who have Florida State at 11 and one think this is the loss yep you know and I think that's interesting I also think the second most interesting thing about this game it's not an ACC game that's correct essentially depending on how you handle your ACC slate and by the way will be wrapped up the game before this with in with UNCC so that's right there's a good possibility let's just say you are undefeated in the ACC at this point and in the ACC Championship game man you could roll out your twos out there in this game it would not matter and so that is what is so interesting about the Notre Dame game but you know they're going to want to try and win this one for the at large perspective especially if you drop an ACC game along the way uh but looking at at at this team the Irish are still very talented I mean when you look at the Blue Chip ratio they're definitely one of the teams that are up there uh they of course they lose Sam Hartman they get Riley Leonard they're doing like the the ACC refurbished quarterback system you know tra just they're on a lease program exactly they just come in and get a new ACC quarterback but you know like we talked about with Riley Leonard he's a good kid yeah he's going to have the most Talent around him that he's had as a quarterback but I'm more scared of his legs than I am his arms at running back they lose estim their leading runner of course they still got talent back there but again you're kind of starting over a little bit there at your running back position you know and then they also have uh some offensive line issues that they're going to have to replace we know that I think they're they're losing three starters they only get two back and one of those we just found out was lost for the season they left tackle you know that that is going to be huge man you lose guys like Jo Al who is one of the you know first round draft pick uh in in the NFL draft and then you lose another guy already and then you you know you're only r that that can really hamper your whole season now I'm sure they got talent to backfield but again you're you're losing some big pieces there um on the defensive line you know on the defensive side of things Notre Dame has a good defense obviously uh they were one of the one of the top defenses that you're going to face this year they do lose some pieces not a ton but they do lose some pieces especially that secondary um you know man I'm not going to make my prediction right now but I think on the road is tough I think at night is tough I think Notre Dame is extremely talented you know when you look at the the Blue Chip ratio Florida State we mentioned was at 53% with transfers included Notre Dame is at 63% so that is still a very talented roster um I actually like Marcus Freeman as a coach I know a lot of people aren't high on him I'm not as scared as not or Dame as some people are I'm really not I just think that out on the road at night against a talented team it's going to be a tough game but this is the one a lot of people got losing I know you got some interesting stats that aren't going to make us feel comfortable uh but I'm gonna go ahead and let you give those as we sit here nervously waiting for what you're about to say uh man here's the thing about Notre Dame you're right like this is the game if you have Florida State projected to go 11-1 this is probably the game you have uh the L by Florida State uh total has played in order Dame 11 times and they're six and five against Notre Dame but they've lost the last three also dju is 0 for two against Notre Dame as well too and so one of those losses was setting the the all-time passing record against Notre Dame still lost what he throw for like 400 something yards and 439 yards still lost and still lost and this is the game that if you remember uh uh at the beginning of the 2021 season you know we basically you know got down came back tied it up went into overtime and just broke our hearts I was at that game flew in all the way from California to just be there for that and uh man we just need to get one it's been a quite some time Florida state is two and three versus Notre Dame at Notre Dame Stadium they've lost the last two there uh in blowout fashion in 2018 and in 2020 so this is an opportunity for Mike nille and that team to go in there and do that listen I listen I like Marcus Freeman I actually think he's he's a pretty cool coach his defense isn't isn't anything to be you know last year they were pretty decent as well but also they were seventh in scoring defense and seventh in scoring offense so they were good on both sides they were good on both sides but Mike noell I just I just just remind remind everybody that in that 20 oh gosh in that uh 2021 game Mike noll's offense put up 38 points against Marcus Freeman's defense there okay just remember that remember that the year be or two years before that it when M Mike Nell was at uh Memphis uh Memphis put up a whole heap of points against Cincinnati where where Marcus Freeman was the defensive coordinator twice in one season so again not to say that um not to say that uh nor Dame doesn't have a decent defense it's just that Mike noell has has answers to this defense so I I don't know man this game I've gone back and forth on like I want to say yeah this is the time we go get that win but then again it's at Notre Dame it's 7:30 Saturday night Prime Time on NBC you know yeah I just don't know I don't know man yeah and and I will say this too a stat that just popped in my head that also makes me feel uncomfortable is I saw someone had tweeted the other day that apparently Mike Noll has never won a ranked Road game and last year when they played Clemson everybody's like but they beat Clemson Clemson finished ranked but they weren't ranked at the time that's right so you know just another thing to make you feel great about that one um again I'm not as worried about that game as I was last year but you also look two of their you know two of their losses of their three losses were on the road they the only game they lost at home was to Ohio State by three points that was a dag on good team um so yeah man I mean that's going to be a tough one so so I don't know I think I think like I said if that's one you're G to drop from a talent perspective and a coaching perspective like you look at the teams that are more talented than you it's it's Clemson Miami Florida Notre Dame that's the Blue Chip ratio I think Notre Dame probably has the most complete of those teams and the best staff of those teams so that that you know we'll have to see but uh the next game we'll spend about two seconds talking about it Charleston Southern listen I'm going to say two things about this game first off they lost 66 to 17 to Clemson last year so you should definitely uh be able to handle that now what I will say about this game is I'm gonna say that first off that game was a little bit sketchy at halftime uh I think it was like it was I'm looking here 2417 at halftime because I remember watching that game at do Stadium I remember checking my phone we were tailgating and I was like oh dear lord about do because that was like right after they got blown out by Duke I think so it was yeah it was that was a sketchy game so they kept it close for a little bit but then Clemson walked away 66 to 17 so I think they were four and seven last year Charleston Southern the only other thing I'll say about this game is I'm gonna say exactly what I said last year about I knew what you were gonna say I knew it there is zero chance a starter touches the field in this game that's me I think I think maybe last year your twos weren't good enough to to maybe do that to walk away we struggled a little bit early on there I think your twos are good enough this year you don't you rest your starters this week that's all I'll say about Charleson here's what I'll say about this game it should be over by the end of the first quarter and your starter should be out by the end of the first quarter I don't think you should rest them because you don't want them to get rusty because you you know you know what's coming up next week yeah so you want to play them the first quarter but you want to get them the heck out of there uh and don't call any unnecessarily plays okay don't call any plays we got PTSD okay I was about yeah right I was about to say listen I love you man I promise you I don't mean this in any kind of disrespectful way look I'll take Rusty legs as long as they're not broken uh so I mean I mean that in a respectful way I love Jordan uh but give me the rust man give me the rust God it sounded terrible there's no way to not make that sound good that's just bad all the way around well let's distract Everybody by talking about Florida the next game here and so this is another one man that that's circled on the calendar here I think what's the most interesting thing about this Florida game I will say first off I'm glad you get him at home yes yes you know if you have the you want to beat Florida let's let's make no mistake about that but if you have your ACC schedule wrapped up this is a loss that you know and you're you're already penciled into the ACC Championship this is also a game that doesn't necessarily hurt you if something crazy were to happen I don't think that's going to be the case but what's interesting for me about Florida is we don't quite know who Florida's going to be by the time this game even get here and the reason I say that is because I mean they have so such a ridiculous schedule I think they have what eight ranked teams or seven ranked teams on that on that schedule gez there's a possibility that that maybe Florida overachieves and I'll be honest I think they have some pieces to be better than people give them credit for uh you know Graham Merz is a i i he's a decent quarterback I dumped on I'm GNA try to use a familyfriendly word I crapped on him when they brought him in from that I was like he just brought in a triple option quarterback the guy knows how to go left and then right and so that's pretty much it but man he's actually I got to give it to him like he he's very efficient now he doesn't stretch the field at all so like you have to understand he's efficient because he doesn't throw the ball hardly at all but you know he threw for 333 against Utah and and 423 against South Carolina so I mean he he can put up some stuff only three interceptions lowest in the SEC almost a 73% completion percentage but we could see DJ lagway by that point if train has come off the tracks you might see an interim coach with DJ lagway uh but I think for Florida it's going to be two things I think it's the motivation because how well I mean they're gonna be motivated to play Florida State but goodness gracious if you're on like six game losing streak you ain't gonna be motivated to do nothing but get to the get to the off season um but then I think it's the pieces around that that quarterback that I you know I think he's good enough yeah but you know they just lost etn they got Montreal Johnson Jr uh who came over from Louisiana was you know pretty good last year obviously uh was one of their two leading backs I was talking to uh a friend of mine that covers Florida you know one of the only friends I have that that covers Florida but we had been doing some offensive and defensive previews on on the other show I talked about and he was telling me that like look Johnson's good but he's not etn right and so especially if you only have that guy they said their offensive line has has been pretty bad now I told him I didn't like hearing that because we got Richie Leonard yeah uh so so you don't like hearing that but you know he did say that they have some pieces at at wide receiver you know peaw is gone but they do have some some Talent at receiver it's just a lot of young guys yeah so you're wanting to see them step up and I think this is one where the offensive line is still not that great they lost uh two out of their five starters from a not so great offensive line I think your defensive line should be able to eat in this game um and then you know you look at the defensive side of things they lost their best defensive end they lost another defensive end they lost they just lost a defensive tackle to injury in the preseason uh you know they got all them guys that are like 400 lbs in the middle and and one of them just broke his leg which I don't know how you don't break your leg just standing up when you weigh that much that's just crazy um the defensive backs you know they they weren't too great and they lost a few there too so I again man I think Florida is not a terrible team they're still talented they're still one of those teams that have the higher Blue Chip ratio than you do um you know my my guy over there is that covers Florida is not super sold on that coaching staff so I actually didn't think that that Napier was a terrible coach but man I just I just don't know what Florida you're going to get I I think if Napier makes a a bowl game this year he saves his job with Lag Way in in the in the bush or maybe in the Hand by that point yeah but I think it's I think it's if they're on the back end of a six game losing streak or something like that yesh man but Florida's always gonna play you tough you know that exactly it's a rivalry game you know they're gonna play you tough listen Florida every year their one Saving Grace that they quote to Florida State fans is that that they have the overall wins loss record right they're 36 and 27 and two against us they've been playing football for longer than us oh okay let me let me let me just let me just run this down for you Jesse real quick I know we're gonna end the show here but let's let's just run the Chanel okay you open up with number 19 Miami okay you got Sanford that should be a dub then you go you play Texas A&M at home interesting interesting interesting you go to Mississippi State you should should win that you got UCF Gus mazan in that offense careful be careful careful you go to Tennessee probably gonna lose probably gonna lose you you you you have Kentucky but now you've lost the last three to Kentucky yeah so okay yeah didn't their guy put up like 9,000 rushing yards on them last year exactly okay now watch this Gauntlet number one Georgia number four Texas at Texas number 13 you at home l number six oh miss at home l number 10 Florida State on the road l so good luck Billy yeah that's it that's it that's all you need to say so gonna be a rough year for Billy and the boys but you know again man if they get to six or seven wins we'll see but listen if they win if they win four games you should give Billy a contract a new contract okay that against that schedule give him a lifetime contract before win which is funny I did see some guys getting excited cuz I think they got moved up from like three and a half to four and a half wins and it's like that's what kills uh my guy who covers the Gators he's like this is this is not we shouldn't be excited about things like this uh but yeah man so that's that's pretty much what you're looking at there that's the gauntlet again just to kind of give a a thousand foot view I think it's tougher schedule than people think man I think there's a lot of teams whereas like last year the wakes the pits and things like that you felt like once you kind of saw a pit fall apart you were like man we we should be able to go in here and win unless we just do something exceptionally bad or sick like you had in the Boston College game or something like that I think this year there is a lot of coin flip games and that's not an indictment on FSU that's just it's a tougher schedule yeah um so with that being said man I I think let's go ahead and and and let's do this the way I normally like to do it because I'm I'm so hard to pick some of these um let's do a ceiling a floor and our most likely outcome right so I'm going to go we we'll start with our ceiling I think we're both probably at 12 and0 here I think we both think that this team if they play well could win all 12 games right or or you going with an 11-1 ceiling yeah my ceiling is 11-1 I think they're gonna lose one game I think they're gonna lose one game yeah I I think if everything goes right if DJ hits if these receivers are good if the defense stays healthy this is all this is also assuming we lose nobody from injury right yeah yeah I think they can win every game on their schedule I think they can go 12 and0 I think their floor is ah ha and four I hate to say that that's that's that's painful uh you know I think when you look at Notre Dame Clemson Miami SMU even Georgia Tech again that's why I think that game's so important because you're gonna find out some things right when I say floor I mean like DJ wasn't that guy maybe you switch to Brock Glenn you know maybe you get some injuries at some key positions that that goes sideways where like you lose a defensive tackle or something like that that that you just don't have a guy to replace I think there's enough good teams on here that if a few things go sideways you could get beat yeah yeah yeah I think the reason why I'm saying 11 And1 is just because again for me I'm one of the ones that has that Notre Dame game it's just I until I see it until I see them do it I just can't my brain is just not getting there going to Notre Dame winning it winning there overcoming the Notre Dame curse whatever it freaking is that we can't win against them and so that's the one game that I act I I I just worry about and so that's why I have them at 11-1 but 11-1 gets them to the ACC Championship game which is all that matters get in the ACC Championship Game my floor for them is I I see three easily losable games now yes there are a lot of coin flips but there are a lot of coin flips that should flip to Florida State's side yeah there are three games that are true coin flips Notre Dame Clemson Miami those are three games that I'm like yeah I even though we're pick I'm even though when it comes to the game preview I'm gonna pick fors against Miami in my hard of Hearts I'm gonna feel very nervous it's a rivalry game right yeah and so those are the three games that I feel like are coin flip true coin flip 50-50 it could go either way so my floor for Florida state is actually nine and three that doesn't get you into the ACC Championship Game unless everybody else sucks right so you're probably on the outside looking into the playoffs yeah and I will say that like I promise you during game week I'm picking Florida State I don't care what I say I will never I will never give that um the most likely outcome this is where it goes man this is this is where we think Florida State's going to end up and I will be honest I wish-wash a lot on this over the last couple of weeks and months and thinking about this um again man I I think that this team has such a high potential I think they can go out I'm such a Believer and Mike norell and what he does I think this team can win every game on their schedule I think there's there's some games in here that are going to be tough you know again we had some close games last year games that we thought now we blew out a lot of teams more people maybe give credit for but like that Miami game was close now we know there was that fluky touchdown it should have been about 14-point win but still a 14 which actually was a seven-point win at home against their freshman backup quarterback that type of stuff makes me nervous knowing that they should be better this year you have a tougher schedule this year I think I'm going to go with 10 and two I been 11- one this whole time I think I'm going to go 10-2 and this might disappoint some people but I'm going to go with the loss is g to be I'm gonna pick that Notre Dame game too I just think that's on the road at night it's tough if you got a couple guys banged up and you're already locked into the ACC Championship maybe you don't even risk it with them I don't know we'll see um if if like cold weather is a factor and things like that I think the other loss comes somewhere I can't I can't even pick that's the problem there so many coin flip games that I feel like should flip Florida State's way you get Clemson at home this year we obviously know Clemson is a night and day team away from Death Valley right you know again that Miami game is down in do South I know it's do South but you know they're a better team it was close last year when it shouldn't have been you're on the road this year you don't get HomeField Advantage uh that SMU game is is a heck of a trap game sleeping on that Georgia Tech game coming out game one um I just I would say if I had to put that second Lo in a group it would be either Miami Clemson or SMU and I know some people are going to be like what the SMU but it's just that it's that trap atmosphere right before Clemson and and a really a better team than people think so I'm gonna say 10- two but I also will say with that 10- two um I would lean more likely to 11- one than nine and three that is the over on the wins that does if one of my losses is to Notre Dame that also does put you more than likely in the ACC Championship you know unless you get edged out by one undefeated team and one team that you may be lost the head to-head to I think a lot of teams are gonna because the ACC is good you're gonna have some parody inside the ACC there uh so I don't know that there's going to be any ACC teams that are going to finish the season undefeated you know I even think like I was talking to my brother yesterday who's a Georgia fan I said look I think Georgia will make the playoffs I don't think they're going to be undefeated this year they have a much harder schedule I think there's going to be some parody in the game this year so I have Florida State at 10 and two in the ACC Championship I think that's a very respectable season I think it either gets you into the playoffs with a win in the ACC Championship I think you're at you know you're in place to get that at large bit if you lose the ACC Championship as that number two team out there or at least you know and I don't even want to say in a new year six bowl because those apparently don't mean anything anymore so but I'm going with 10 and two and and an appearance in the ACC Championship yeah you know when we were talking about this pre-show was like yeah you're making some great points about 10 and two and like I was like okay yeah scared you a little bit they did you really did you really did I was thinking okay where could that second loss come from but you know what Jesse I'm sticking to my guns I like it we're going 11 and one we're going 11 and one that's the outcome they're gonna lose to Notre Dame I'm I'm not gonna be okay with it during the week when they lose but I'll be okay with it at the end because they're gonna get into the ACC Championship they're gonna win the ACC Championship and then we gonna Shock the World this year I told you in the off season that's what we're going to do I'm sticking in my guns I love it man I mean you got to be confident again like I I lean more 11 and one than nine and three so I believe in Mike Noel I believe in this team man it's just like we said going undefeated is hard man it's tough it's tough but you know again I think 10- two 11- one as long as you make the ACCC Championship you have yourself where you need to be so right it's going to be an exciting season though I mean obviously with with better teams comes better games and it's going to be really exciting man I can't wait for that Clemson game Florida Miami you name it there's a lot of underrated games on this schedu so I'm super excited to see this one but that's that's it man that's that's the win loss projection for
