Could Dillon Gabriel lead this year’s Sooners team to the College Football Playoff?

Brent Venables was not expecting Dillon Gabriel to play another year of college football. I really thought he would go to the NFL. And so, he really was expecting Jackson Arnold to take over as the starter for OU this year, and they kind of had a mutual agreement for Dillon Gabriel to go somewhere else. That's kind of how it played out. Would he increase OU's ceiling in the immediate? Yes, absolutely. I think so. He's one of the best passers in college football history. A proven talent with a lot of experience. He takes care of the ball. Doesn't make mistakes. Hardly threw any interceptions so far in his career. So yeah, it would definitely increase the immediate ceiling, because Jackson Arnold is gonna have some growing pains this year as a first-year starting quarterback. Juwan: If Dillon Gabriel's the starter, is OU a playoff team this year? Mason: Yeah. I totally think they are. I mean, they've been building toward that for awhile. We're all expecting big things from him at Oregon. I think he would be capable of doing that at OU too, based on who OU has on the team this year.
