THANK YOU DERRICK. NOW WEEK ONE OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS HERE. THE KANSAS STATE WILDCATS TAKE ON UT MARTIN TOMORROW. AND THE KANSAS JAYHAWKS ARE ALREADY CELEBRATING THEIR FIRST VICTORY OF THE SEASON. A LOT OF EXCITEMENT RIGHT THERE. KSN'S MOLLY JONES IS IN STUDIO THIS MORNING. AND MOLLY, YOU SPOKE TO THE ATHLETICS AND THEY'RE EXCITED ABOUT THE SEASON IN KANSAS CITY. YEAH THAT'S RIGHT. THIS SEASON LOOKS DIFFERENT FOR THE JAYHAWKS. THE TEAM IS PLAYING IN KANSAS CITY WHILE THEIR STADIUM IS REDONE AND ATHLETICS IS EXCITED TO HAVE THIS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY. THE TWO NONCONFERENCE GAMES ARE AT CHILDREN'S MERCY PARK, INCLUDING LAST NIGHT'S, AND THE FOUR CONFERENCE GAMES ARE AT ARROWHEAD STADIUM. JASON BOOKER, DEPUTY ATHLETIC DIRECTOR, SAYS THERE'S A BIG FAN BASE IN KANSAS CITY, AND BEING LESS THAN AN HOUR AWAY, IT'S ALREADY A HOME AWAY FROM HOME. FOR LAWRENCE. CHILDREN'S MERCY PARK HOLDS LESS THAN DAVID BOOTH. KANSAS MEMORIAL STADIUM WHILE ARROWHEAD HAS A BIGGER CAPACITY THAN WHAT KU FANS ARE USED TO, BOOKER SAYS FOR AT LEAST TWO GAMES, THEY EXPECT TO SEE MORE FANS AT ARROWHEAD THAN THEY COULD HOLD IN LAWRENCE, AND IT WILL BECOME A UNIQUE MEMORY FOR JAYHAWK FANS. I THINK TEN YEARS FROM NOW, OUR FANS WILL LOOK BACK AND SAY, HEY, DO YOU REMEMBER THAT TIME WHEN WE PLAYED AT SPORTING OR WHEN WE PLAYED AT ARROWHEAD? WASN'T THAT REALLY COOL? AND WHEN WE WERE BUILDING OUR OUR NEW STADIUM, WHICH IS EXCITING BECAUSE PEOPLE KNOW WHAT'S AHEAD TOO, RIGHT? LIKE, WE KNOW WE'RE OPENING, YOU KNOW, REVITALIZED. UM. DAVID BOOTH, KANSAS MEMORIAL STADIUM IN 25. BOOKER SAYS THEY HAVE BEEN WORKING OUT THE LOGISTICS FOR A YEAR, PUTTING TOGETHER BUSSING FOR STUDENTS AND GIVING A SIMILAR FAN EXPERIENCE. AND WE HAVE MORE DETAILS, INCLUDING TICKETS AND TAILGATING ON OUR WEBSITE. KSN DOT COM AND SPEAKING OF TAILGATING, I'M HEADED TO DERBY TO GIVE YOU A LOOK AT A WILDCAT FAN GETTING HIS TAILGATE READY FOR TOMORROW. THAT'S COMING UP AT SIX. HERE FOR YOU, MOLLY JONES, KSN NEWS THREE. ALLDERRICK LYTLE, DERRICK THANK YOU. THE FOOTBALL SEASON IS OFFICIALLY HERE. DESPITE THE JAYHAWKS NOT PLAYING IN LAWRENCE FOR THEIR FIRST GAME, KU FANS STILL TURNED OUT TO CHEER ON THE TEAM. THEY PACKED INTO CHILDREN'S MERCY PARK IN KANSAS CITY. THE JAYHAWKS STARTED THE SEASON OFF WITH A HUGE WIN. THEY BEAT THE LINDENWOOD LIONS 48 TO 3. TOMORROW IS K-STATE'S TURN TO TAKE ON THE FIELD. THE CATS TAKE ON UT MARTIN IN MANHATTAN, AND FANS FROM ACROSS THE STATE WILL MAKE THE TRIP TO WATCH KSN'S.
