what's happening everyone it's me kiki solano welcoming you to byusn right now wow do we have so much byu football for you playoff rankings watch lists we're chatting so much about the team it only makes sense to talk to a player on the team samson makua let's bring him in let's go the initial college football playoff rankings are out and our cougs came in at number 15. i like the rest of cooker nation felt pretty good about that and i'm feeling optimistic about the way the rest of our season could shake out in fact i got a side with johnny linehan here these lyrics are perfect [Music] but as promised it's time to hear from one of the players samson congrats on a great game it's been so much fun watching you ball out and it's been great to watch you do it with your brother puka this year what's it like for you guys to play together this year a movie i keep telling everyone it's a movie i've been enjoying every moment of it celebrating the touchdowns with everybody celebrating puka and his big games and uh now it's finally my turn to go off a little bit and i always felt good to see puget uh finally cheering for me and it's been really fun okay now let's get to know you guys a little bit more we're gonna do a little comparing contrasting since you're wearing the comfy let's start there who has better style you or puka come on you see me dripped down in the comfy everyday come on i got better of course but pugla looks better so i don't know we'll see okay well maybe if puka gets some more comfies like you then then he'll be that level we'll see yeah yeah who has the better celebrations between the two of you i think it might be me because i feel like puka is honestly just trying to take his anger out he has a lot of bits of anger and if you look at our celebrations i'm getting punched in my face the whole time or my chest and it's it's a lot of work uh trying to you know get some treatment on my body after those punches so i think puka definitely needs a lot of work on the celebrations maybe our fans could give uh some tips on him celebrating instead of just punching me that'd be nice yeah that that'd be nice for you particularly we'll we'll get working on that cougar nation's watching this i know you guys are both big on bowling so who's the better bowler hookah is good i i'm working on it book is nice he's got his own bowling ball he's got the shoes he's a little more dedicated than i am but i'm getting there don't you worry i'm you know i'm just older brother it's gonna it's bound to happen for me to beat it it just i won't let him win absolutely i believe in you no doubt okay what is something that cougar nation should know about the nakua brother we just want you guys to have a good time we want you guys to come party with us we want to come party with you you let us know we're trying to have a good time surely temples all around so you just let us know we're there i love that samson is always great but i want to rewind to the beginning of the interview i keep telling everyone it's a movie samson is basically giving us free content ideas here i mean he's begging us to do this [Music] it's [Music] [Music] okay maybe i just need that in my life but seriously am i the only one who would watch that movie no absolutely not exactly it's always a great time to highlight the nakuas especially considering samson was recently named the 2021 polynesian college football player of the year award watch list oh and puku was spotlighted by the same award look the brothers bald out each getting themselves a touchdown and 107 yards receiving hold up though because the nakuas aren't the only guys getting watch list attention o lineman james empty has been named as a semi-finalist for the 2021 warfall trophy this award is given to student athletes who combine exemplary service with leadership achievement on and off the field the best news though the recognition does not stop running back tyler algiere lands himself college sports madness independent offensive player of the week but i mean well duh come on the guys ranked number one in the nation for rushing touchdowns and ranked third in both total rush yards and rush yards per game oh and did i mention he also received honorable mention for college football performance awards and national performer of the week yep tyler is good it's crazy all these awards just really inspired our own award what byu's best social media award don't look too close you'll see it doesn't say that oh that's so kind thank you i'd like to thank you i'd like to thank my producers same with my editors i'd like to thank this episode that's it we should probably just roll the cred this is where they roll the credits playing the music to get me off okay [Music]
