[Music] [Music] welcome folks to downtown Atlanta and mercedesbenz Stadium sight of this year's Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl and of course part of the college football playoff it's time now for the quarterfinals with the top four seeds a time to begin their Quest toward the national championship but they run into a battle tested team already coming off one playoff pictory trying to shock the world here today and make the semi-finals as we'll see the number six seed in this playoff the Texas A&M Aggies taking on the number three seed in the playoff the Missouri Tigers threea sports college football and Chris fer here in the booth with Kirk herb Street and here we go a college football playoff quarterfinal game only one team here can keep their Championship dreams [Applause] alive kickoff team out there we're ready to rumble for this college football playoff game return starts from inside the five he's tackled at the 21 that's where the drive will start the Missouri Tigers offense will be the first up today of course this game in Atlanta I think is the mech up of college football and over the years here in the Peach Bowl we've seen Underdog teams like UCF and Houston really come in here and make their own piece of history and Chris think about it the peach bow kind of like the Cotton Bowl who's been a major winner in this playoff expansion they have put on a great game and they've already had some memorable moments you can for breaks clear End Zone ahead out past the 30 crosses the 10 they're not going to get him he's in touchdown Tigers but all the filmor that they've done to get ready for this game here we are in the opening drive they see exactly what they thought they might see based on their film work it pays off and this back had a ton of space to show you what kind of speed he has here's the point after attempt and it's seven nothing after the bat getting set to kick the ball off now Turner decides to field it he'll be tackled at the 18 that's good coverage there Texas A&M's offense takes the field the first chance we had to see them today M let's take a quick look at the impact players for today's game and how they're going to affect the outcome these are your leaders on the field and in the lock room these are your go-to guys not only when you need a play to be made but also when you need somebody to Rally your team first down play call coming up how aggressive will it be now begin with a quick throw to the left and the defense swarms not much of a gain on that completion the back behind the quarterback now in the pistol they'll try to pick up the yardage on the ground they'll tackle him at the 27 man you know the back gets a lot of the attention here he's a good back I'd love to see that offensive line win the battle the line of Str can he make it to the marker goes backwards losing three yards there well the running back comes up a little bit short of the first down big decision here for this offense because they are down a touchdown here early in the game they don't want to dig themselves too big of a potential hole mcover seemed able to bring the returner to the ground so the Missouri offense head back out onto the field it didn't take long to reach the end zone last time a perfectly blocked running play can they keep it going here easy throw to a wide open receiver down field potentially a touchdown saving tackle but not before a long completion what a pitching catch by the quarterback and receiver for a big gain for this offense it's a first and 10 play coming up for the offense looking to throw it's cook looking to scramble he bought some time now lets it Go receiver looks it in it's complete and that is always the toughest thing for a def defense when you cover the initial routes by the receivers but then they start their second routes adjusting to the quarterback scramble and they're able to get open and when you have a quarterback who can run around and buy he takes it in for the score touchdown Missouri this guy can do it all we've seen him go behind coverage and make plays down field we can see him catch the ball underneath just like this when he catches a football he is so dangerous after the catch this one leads him into the zone for the six points extra point try coming now extra point is good they stretch the lead a little bit more kickoff team is on the field boot this one away turn starts inside the 15 gets it to the 25 yd line that's with to start the drive and here comes the agies offense back on the field they're coming off a quick three and out so looking to put something together on this drive with a little more urgency back behind the quarterback aligned in a pistol hand off to the back Breaking Free at the 35 that gain is good enough for a first down all spotted at the 42 this back has room to run he really can hurt you with his speed and ability to accelerate up field to pick up a first down think about A&M backs over the years they have been spoiled some great backs most recently devvon aain and Isaiah Spiller but even though I'm back people forget Dante Hall brings into the clear it's a Sprint and a huge game oh he spce out of bounds big yardage to set up a fresh set of downs outstanding blocking on the left side of that offensive line that's really what opened up this play they did their job and you can see the results you burst open and get a big gain on the ground them keep going to that side and see how much more success they can have second down after that run on the previous play change of pace now looking to throw the football pressure is coming on the junior gets home making a sack there I like the call here but you can't run long developing playaction passes like that if the offensive line is not going to give the quarterback time to throw they come to the line a long way to go for the first down but needing this crucial conversion right now PR comes and once again no Escape well that's their second sack already in this game right now and and this offensive coordinator he's going to have to come up with some in pass Pro keep a tight end in roll the quarterback out anything they can do to help him out otherwise this poor guy's going to spend his entire playoff experience on his back and no chance for a return as the punch sailes out of bounds here comes the Missouri offense back out on the field they punched it in the last possession can they do it again or will this defense make some adjustments to get a stop that wasn't alert enough didn't get the play off that'll cost him five yards delay of game off quarterback lost track of the play clock that'll cost the offense five [Applause] didn't quite get the playoff in time it'll be delay of game delay of game offense delay of game penalty will cost the offense five [Applause] looks like he didn't get the snap off in time that'll cost him five [Applause] [Music] yards e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e quarterback unaware of the play clock that'll cost them five big guys up front lined up it's first down from the shadow of the goal line looking to throw the ball quick throw misses his Mark there incomplete second down after the incompletion keep it on the ground there's the handoff socer with a strong tackle there so a tricky situation here third and very long inside your own 20 how much of risk do you take you know this defense could be very aggressive at this moment quarterback leaves the pocket on the Move now his four down and a long way to go they're going to go for it looking to pass it's cook he's moving out of the pocket let's he go on the launching deep he make the tackle but he easily gets first down yardage and the drive keeps going Bo it's a blown opportunity here for this defense they get the offense all the way to fourth down and long they got to get pressure they got to get this offense off the field make them pay for this aggressive decision to go for it and instead they give up the first down this can cause it offense cranking up the tempo now no huddle Chris I just love to see this offensive line in this running game able to it's a highlight diving catch there Chris that's just a great individual effort to lay out like that to make a catch this Missouri offense is moving quickly down the field from the shotgun here's an inside give the gain is three yards so second and seven no huddle here for the offense second down we're going to throw it that's reeled in it's buron he'll be taken down but he does have first down yardage Chris that's another positive game for this offense and this quarterback continues to show why he's had such a great year this year when he has time to throw he gets his feet set he's as accurate as any quarterback in the he'll take it into the end zone touchdown Tigers that's just nice execution quarterback and receiver perfectly in syn that time yeah you can see why route running is one of the most underrated attributes of receiver it's easy to get caught up on their ability to catch or their vertical or their speed but nothing substitutes for someone who can create separation like this before the ball's even thrown [Applause] back to pass it's Wegman the pass rush closing oh it's tipped at the line and intercepted you bring him down after a short return with the takeway Y Line is huge oh how I love when this happens the big dog up front is working hard and snatched his opportunity good for [Music] [Applause] him so the Missouri offense has back out onto the field the last Drive the passing game very effective moved him right down the field can the defense and he's going to fling it deep going for it all here touchdown Missouri this Air Attack is still Unstoppable well they began with great field position and that didn't take long at all Curry well that's how you take advantage of an opportunity your defense sets you up in great field position you're not looking for a field goal you're looking for a touchdown give the credit to this offense but being aggressive and punching it in so they'll try to add to the lead now with the Pat and the kick is up and good they tack on a point to their lead [Applause] and they'll give it to the back tackled behind the line it's a loss of two get Missouri with the lead here we reached the end of one in this quest to move one step closer to a national championship let's check out the stats so far crucial stage of the game as we begin the second quarter is this one going to get out of hand well a serious challenge for this offense you don't want to be in third and long inside your own 20 how much of a risk will they take to try to pick up down goes the quarterback it's a sack and the aies will bring their punt team onto the field I mean it's another sack Chris I mean we just getting started here first half and you're already talking about giving up three sacks got to think about changing things up schematically help that offensive line and help that poor quarterback before he gets killed down Tigers huge play by the Special Teams P return for a touchdown in a playoff game that's a moment we're not going to forget for some time we won't forget about this one and I don't think I'll ever forget the blocks that help get him loose to be able to score this touchdown he's going to get a lot of the credit when they go back and watch the film I think he's going to give an assist to the entire unit [Applause] here comes the point after attempt bet is good and the lead rows to 35 nothing looking to pass this time defense is coming after him quick throw complete to the tight end looks like Texas A&M will have the first down well this is called settling down in his Z defense just kind of finding that soft spot so not only does this tight end show that he's got great athletic ability and great size here he shows that he understands coverage by sitting down in that hole giving the quarterback a nice Target able to pick up that first down second down after that run on the previous play we corner back up now playing a couple yards off the ball pre- snap motion from the offense tries to get it to the running back caught over the middle it's Owens touchdown A&M strong game by this quarterback Chris how about the call here with the wheel route the running back we know he can run the football but here he shows his ability to catch the ball out of the back field and that wheel route is tough on a defense sometimes the back can get lost here he catches it finds his way into the end zone for a touchdown and they'll set up for the p in and he make the extra point Trail now 357 kickoff team on the field getting set now and he takes this from inside the five and he'll be t L after a solid effort on that return here comes the Missouri offense back out onto the field theyve really built momentum in this game they've been hard to stop and the defense make some adjustments come up with a stop here offense operating from the pistol and here's the handoff he shrs the tackle the gain moves the ball to the 34 Chris is the consistency of this back is giving this defense fits they've got to come up with some changes up front is already over 50 yards and if he keeps running the way he is not only is he having a great day but it's going to give this quarterback a chance to hit some big plays down field off play action shotgun formation here's an inside handoff the sophore able to bring him down quickly with the defense coordinator this week all week telling us about Gap Integrity not giving this running back any Crees at all really sound defense on that play that run sets up a critical third down play get there on the ground takes it out to the 44 that's good for a first down you know offensive linemen are just a certain de they're always going to do their job no matter who's back there carrying the ball tell you what they have a little bit more confidence from the person that's carrying the ball can break off some big time runs that makes him block just a little oh and he's in the clear now it's a foot race pass the 10 touchdown Missouri made the defense look slow that time Chris all week I wondered if this back might get loose and come up with a big play like this the defense had their back turned couldn't really see where he was by the time they realized it he just had too much speed and he's able to take it to the end zone [Applause] [Applause] linebacker shifting around now grab near the stick it's Mohamed bring him down at the 44 that's a solid game getting closer to Midfield now Texas A&M getting set with a first and 10 now from the shotgun drops back looking for an open man doesn't get rid of it he's brought down way behind the line of scrimmage that's a huge loss I can't believe the amount of pressure this defense is getting on this quarterback sack after sack boy you got to about things up the snap count thee anything at all to help this offensive line they're overmatched so far in this game grab down the middle it's Allen they bring him down that's a very solid game but still well short of the first down yeah's looking to run some Tempo here drops back looking to throw for it on third down the pocket breaking down and the junior able to get home with the sack great call here going with that nickel defense giving you more speed on the field on that third down and long nowhere to go gave the defensive line plenty of time to come up with that sack now it's fourth down and long and the agies will line up to boot it away that's his fourth punt already today on the return it's buron he's got an opening watch out he's got great speed now they finally get him but he found a nice Lane on that return this dri starts good position so the Missouri offense heads back out onto the field offense protecting the lead here but they've been playing so well let's see if they go for more before halftime so they'll start this drive here with less than a minute remaining on the first half clock to the air it's cook throws a bullet to the right makes the catch can he get in no stopping him takes it all the way touchdown tigers touch down to a wide open man what in the world was going on the defensive side of that W what was the defense thinking here you can't let a player roam free like that they just completely forgot about him and gifted him a [Applause] touchdown [Applause] e e get set now to try the Pat and the p is good as they continue to pull away even more so the offense gets momentum scoring before halftime now the kickoff we'll see if the defense can get his top and preserve that momentum he'll return it from inside the five and the returner brought down by that coverage team and the Texas A&M offense heads back out onto the field it'd be a surprise if they took a risk here with the final seconds of the first half backed up near their own End Zone caught in the back field it's Owens one thing I love about this back is how he gets involved in the passing game nice catch here time running down just one play left here in the half and the ball is handed off out of the shotgun he'll be brought down and that will wrap up the first half of play and that will do it for the first half here Kevin Conor now has our halim update thanks Chris the magnitude and intensity of these playoff matchups is always something special to be a part of and we've got to start our halftime breakdown with this Superstar running back his elusiveness his raw power this young man is the total package and his ability to catch the ball out of the back field is a differentiator a lot of guys could hit the hole this kid can hit the hole and hit the home run in the passing game that's going to do it for us here at the half time to see how this incredible playoff drama plays out and for that it's back to Chris and Kirk all right thank you for the update Kevin appreciate it Sing Sing linebacker trying to confuse this offense now looking for a gap it's Daniels a tackle him behind the line a loss of four that's a great Play All Around by this defense their first level Defenders hold their own at the point of attack allowing the second and third level players to roam free and make the tackle close to the line of stren and it's the senior getting home with the sack and just like that you squeeze the life out of this offense that's another sack by this defense they have been in that back field the entire game and a big reason why these guys are enjoying a lead [Applause] e the aies bring their punt team onto the field on to kick now for the fifth time today [Applause] bringing it back it's burden they finally get him down but that's a solid return good work by The Return Man here comes the Missouri offense back out on the field first down here for this offense quarterback adjusting now to the defense dropping back it's cook looking for a deep completion he's got it near the end zone touchdown missoury and the route is on Kirk this quarterback told us this is my time to shine a playoff game he has gone out and back that up so far yeah he's done everything that's been asked of him and more just a great job of getting into a rhythm really tough to defend right now the defensive ordin you can see him down there he's throwing his headset he's frustrated he's got come up with some new wrinkles to try to slow this guy down so they try to add to the lead now with the p extra point is good they stretch the lead a little bit more the punt team making their way on the field forced to kick it away for the sixth time running it back it's buron and the returner will be brought down so the Missouri offense heads back out onto the field last time out a oneplay touchdown drive through the air can they keep it going here trying to extend the play and he'll scoot out of bounds after a short gain not enough for the first down offense getting set up here's second down quarterback drops back probing the secondary finds that big tight end for a short pass and he's out of bounds after gaining decent yardage offense facing a third and short from the 41 can they make the first down and avoid a tricky fourth down decision quarterback on the move and to make something happen B carrier heads out of bounds but the pickup is good enough to move the chains first down well this is so deflating for this defense on Third and short good coverage down field they take away all the short routes but the one guy that they don't account for is the quarterback in his legs picks up the first down by being athletic there in great awareness this Missouri offense is moving quickly down the field on first down it's play action trying to create here on the Move that's incomplete they waited all game for a chance to intercept one and set a second down quarterback appears to be changing the play to throw it's cook quarterback escapes the pocket tried to go very deep there good effort now it's third down not going to be easy here backed up a long way to go for a first down on third down he drops to throw looks down field and connects with a wide open wide receiver with that completion right there this quarterback now has gone over 300 yard in this game what a day ball handed off they'll stop him behind the line for a loss of one second down play coming up for this offense and the quarterback looking to make a play through the air on the Run he'll let it go touchdown Tigers to stretch the lead the route is on and they connect again that's just been an Unstoppable ditch and catch combination all game this receiver making defense looks silly Chris the entire game he has multiple touchdowns so far just shows you that whatever the game plan was to slow him down flat out hasn't worked [Applause] you guys are now tuning in going czy fow y see that right yall see that yeah that right out of your y man they getting wrecked already face them once in the year they're they I've already conquered this team so a tricky situation here third third and very long inside your own 20 how much of risk do you take you know this defense could be very aggressive at this moment that deep shot is caught for a big game and bulldozing his way through they finally tackle him at the four that's a solid gain in the pitch and catch really good job here of converting by this offense and let's face it at this point in the game because they have such a big hole to climb out of they've got to be able to convert and come up with a new the go line touchdown egies Chris that's what I love about this quarterback this a great touchdown he shows you his versatility we know he can throw it but here he shows you his speed and how he can make the defense pay for that as well extra point knocked right down the middle kickoff team is on the field let's see if they give the returner chance to bring this one back he's going to return it from near the go line still got it down that return here comi back out on the field this group has been really built momentum can the defense make adjustments come up with a stop here well much like what we saw in the first half Chris in this playoff game no adjustments go right back to giving this running back to football he's had a monster day and continues to get positive yards gets into space at the 50 get the [ __ ] out my [ __ ] face get the [ __ ] face continues that's another touchdown for this running back they can't stop him dream performance of this playoff game yeah this is going to be a performance we're going to be talking about for a long time I just love watching because many different ways seen speed youve seen his physicality he's breaking tackles boy just an absolute dream scenario as you said dude I was booking at Midfield [Applause] D look like I have my own teammates chasing my [Applause] ass kicking team out for the pat try and the kick is up and they t on a point to their lead now they get set to kick it away Fields it inside the 5 yd line makes it the got by line get set up it's a first down Play Over the Top yeah let's bring that P forward that's the wide receiver coming in motion now from the shotgun it's a handoff can't go nowhere line no linebackers moving around trying to confuse the offense and K get Missouri with the lead here these playoff games we certainly hope for a much more competitive battle the shot of the national championship on the line it has not been the case here so far so let's get back to the action one quarter away what would be an impressive cfp statement we're B first play of the drive they're going to throw the football oh St at the 43 but that's enough to make a first down man I've really enjoyed watching this guy play all year and it's been great to see him in person today making good decisions accurate throws and keeping this offense moving game moves the ball to the 43 first down coming up [ __ ] [ __ ] scanning the field it's looking to throw he's got it big gain inside the 25 you know they've got a lead here late in the game and the play calling I think shows you how much confidence they have in this quarterback he's had a pretty clean game today and this decision to still throw the ball with the lead shows they believe he's going to make the right decisions and make accurate throws makes the throw across the middle of the field touchdown Tigers here I go catch it go [Applause] play action here on first down he's escaping the pocket now and he'll lost it to the end zone oh and a chance and an interception in the end zone could not quite hold on to the ball it's going to be second Down Chris That's a classic case of predetermining what to do with the football you've got this incredibly talented receiver arguably the best athlete on the field I get it you want to get him the football but throwing in the double watch that's a no and a great way to throw completely Miss thir my fa [ __ ] play in history dropping back a throw for the first down but I can't but I can't use in could not es now they that Niel defense I think that's the right call you get more speed to be able to cover with those five defensive backs and also allows that defensive line with that good coverage to get after the quarterback as we see here he's moving out of the pocket [Applause] [Applause] now we looking to throw it's cook and he's going to Rifle this one to the left side def ball is caught for a huge game Chris I'm kind of surprised they're still taking shots down field they got a big lead we're in the fourth quarter run the ball get out of Dodge keep everybody healthy here's a shot toward the end way over hise that's just a miscommunication here that's busted cover by leave AER problem for the offense is the misses the throw that's a touchdown after he's over the middle it's Bon [Music] right that's another for these guys they have well minute 15 left I guess I'm winning this one supposed where's dude at why is dude not oh hold up off the play fakeing that's circles there [ __ ] they it deep and he's it the 35 touchdown tigers and the route is on [ __ ] did you think that was [Applause] first play of the drive they come out throwing hit as he released it it's incomplete they waited all game for a chance to intercept one and set a second down quarterback changing the play now at the line looking a pass here on second down he lets it go on the Move looking deep caught way down field for a huge gain and they'll bring him down but this creates a huge chunk play Chris how about this approach by this offensive play caller up big fourth quarter and they're still taking shots down field looking for more points think they're trying to rub it in here a little bit the offense operating at Peak efficiency they come to the line again off the play fake looking throw on first down on the Run he'll let it go touchdown Missouri to stretch you know coaches love to see a football team that doesn't get caught up in the the scoreboard they're just out executing and doing what needs to be done that's what we're seeing from this offense yeah they continue to put points on the board and they're pulling away I just love to see the execution how they're going their bus 99 points not 100 so they decide to run it in on the two-point conversion and it turns out to be the right call put two up on the board here's the kickoff team Now set to boot this one away short kickoff fielded just inside the 25 he's brought down at the 28 that's where the drive will start here comes the Texas A&M offense back on the field they need a couple Miracles here in the final two minutes to rescue what's been a very very rough outing so far back to throw it's Henderson and he's got his man open down field oh and he breaks free it's a foot race they've got him at the four but a big gain in that catch and run that's one way to be able to move the football up the field in a hurry he's the types of plays that can really Galvanize an offense bringing pressure they've got him to sack from the defense and a out is taken with just one second remaining in the game so the ball mve back to the 12 for second and goal here's the snap quarterback looking to throw and it's incomplete As Time Runs Out game over of course in the playoffs it's survive and Advance this is a crucial W great performance but now the stage gets even bigger the challenges will continue going forward yeah more and more pressure teames win been themselves stay focused on the task at hand they did that again today they Advance cannot can make a play they come up that touchdown oh [Applause] we on first down it's playaction he'll take a deep shot here this one is broken up balls incomplete the offense going with the hurry up well Chris the offense takes a shot down field Defender does a great job making a play on the ball not only that he tis that the good chance for the defense to come up with an interception there interesting play call here third and short inside their own 20 they want to get this drive going or a punt could give the opponent excellent field position first down big game out of bounds it'll move the these are the kind of plays that keep defensive coordinators up at night you spend so much time putting your plan together toop the and then nobodys for thearter got to get out of [Applause] head coach keeping the offense on the field inside their own down to throw for it makes the catch and that is enough for a first down tackle made after a big game this Missouri offense is moving quickly down the field on First and 10 looking to throw finds a receiver in the middle of the field it's a huge gain across Midfield ball will be spotted about the 31 big chunk play this offense operating at Peak efficiency play action here on first down and he's going to fling it deep going for it all here and he's got it touchdown Tigers well that's a thing of beauty right there good Tuesday practice Yeah that quarterback eyes have lit up on that play because you've got one of your players way down field without around was talking yeah where is he first down looking to throw the ball he's going for a big play downfield the catch is made for a huge pickup oh and he breaks free it's a foot race who could not [Applause] stop look him out throwing here to start the drive he's on the one launches deep he's got it right near the end zone first first and goal now a chance to claim even more momentum before the halftime break to the air it's cook catch Made In The End Zone touchdown quarterback pre- snap adjustments now for this defense e looking to throw it on first down on the run here taking de shot and it's caught way down field inside the 35 see what the call is on First and [Applause] 10 quarterback drops back we're going to test the secondary he's going to take another shot right here makes the grab in the end zone touchdown Missouri well that's a well machine right there everyone on this offense has been a star in their roles when they're rolling this it results in quick and positive results [Music] 299 first play of the drive looking to throw the football
