The Padres continue the second leg of a two city tour after being in Pittsburgh dramatic victory last night in Miami game two as the Marlins take the field, Roy munoz trying to shut down this team that's won six in a row and 15 of 17 starting pitcher for the Roy Munoz, his 14th of the season and his 15th game a loss against the Reds Monday night and he gave up his 8th 1st inning home run and, er , a of 831 in the first inning, a grounder up the middle that will find its way to center field, a base hit to start the ball game for the Padres. This one is floated out to left field for Kyle and that's the first out one away at first that brings up Jake Cronenworth batting in the three spot for the Padres to left center field. It is slicing towards the gap and that's going to get back to the truck in the wall. Arise, racing around Tim Leer is going to send him, throw towards the plate not coming and scoring all the way from first base is a ror with an RB I double and the Padres strike first on top one to nothing and this one hit to third base across the diamond from Berger to Bride. Moving up is Cronenberg broken bat fly ball in the air. Shallow center field. Hill is racing in coming together with Otto Lopez. It's Hill who makes a basket catch 1 to 0. Padres have a leader of the Marlins as we head to the bottom of the first inning. Matt Waldron has really put together a nice season. The right hander 27 years old, 24th start of the season taken outside. So the leadoff man aboard and Xavier Edwards draws the first walk of the afternoon and now Edwards goes and what a great job by Bogart to keep that ball from getting into center field. I don't know if he tripped over the bag or lost his footing or what, but it was an awkward catch and Then seeing that Edwards nearly out going back to the bag and the knuckle ball gets berger early on. There's no question that Waldron is having trouble commanding his knuckle ball. That one just totally got away from him and a fly ball to right field. Peralta will have room settles underneath and makes the catch at second. Is Edwards, he'll head to third without a problem. That's out. Number one as Waldron's able to get sanchez that is strike three , gets him looking for a strike out of the night for Matt Waldron two down that's some pitching right there, elevate 10 strikes him out, matt Waldron out of a jam in the first inning one down here in the second inning, David Peralta payoff pitch fastball called strike three in a ring of Peralta that heater hit the inside corner. Peralta doesn't like the call by Malachi Moore payoff pitch is hit on the line sharply to center field chasing hill back. He makes the catch on the run. Waldron working his way out of a tough situation in the 1st 1 to 2 pitch swing and a miss, he struck him out. That's three strikeouts in a row for matt Waldron by the mound out to second base and fires to first for out. Number two retired slowly chopped to third Machado on the run and in time nice play by manny again. Two down in the third for pro far hot shot through the right side into right field. A base hit a pro. The two out knock up a string of seven in a row retired by munoz and he gets hit that hurts seven mile an hour. Fastball gets him all of a sudden with two down. Padres have runners at 1st and 2nd. Manny Machado coming up. That's it the other way. And off the glove of the diving Lopez trickling into right field being waived. He's on his way. He's going to score RB I single , Manny Machado and Padres on its 2 to 0. Boart with a line drive to right field breaking in is sanchez Bruja. He makes the catch on the run, collected his first two major league hits a couple of nights ago against Cincinnati. Long time minor leaguer 1 to 2 and a swing and a miss kind of chase an elevated fastball. This is driven to break field as Peralta headed back on the track , we have a number two. Berger is hit on the line into center field sinking fast. The base hit the first of the ball game for Miami and the second time this afternoon that Jake Berger has arrived safely at first balls. Two strikes, two outs to Sanchez who pokes one through the left side of base hit and had a little bit of a shift on but still right through that hole between the third baseman and shortstop. So it brings up Jonah Bride even with the 0 to 1 today, a 310 hitter his last 18 games and trying to get the Marlins on the board in the air to left back, still going on the track. He's there makes the catch on the dirt of the track to end the inning one down in the fourth inning. David Peralta driven to right center field pretty deeply. That ball is back and it's going to be off the bottom of the wall. David Peralta cruises into second base with a one out, double one down Peralta at second base and here is Hasan kim up the middle and into center field, David Peralta being waved around. Here comes the throw, it is off the mark and is Peralta as the Padres take a 30 lead. Hasan Kim driving in a run with a situation like that. You still want to throw to come in hot to home plate but low enough. Yeah, through the cut off its head, a double play in order which it no longer is now at least not a conventional one. This is a fly ball out toward right center field for Ruhan. He makes the catch tagging is kim throw goes to third and Kim slid right by the tag of Burger and the Marlins go to the replay phone just to see they will challenge this one. I think he got him the glove and the jersey right there by die. That right there shows you some , some glove. So is the glove moving to call the field is overturned. All the runner is out. Nobody on for the switch hitting vidal Brohan, his throw a big key in the top of the seven pitches. It high and deep right center. This is crushed. It's on its way is going to go. It's gone for vital bru. That's his second homer of the season. And now it's 3 to 1. San Diego here in the bottom of the fourth. You make a great throw. The next thing you know, you hit a two out home run that was almost a dead central. You have to worry about Berger. You have to worry about this guy too. That's with two on one away here in the Marlins fifth inning on his way to third. Go home. Great slide there by Berger getting a lot of help from joe mcbride telling him which direction to slide. Good, take, good at bat there for stour and it will bring up Otto Lopez with the bases loaded an opportunity for skip Schumacher's ball club to open things up here. One run home, here comes a second. There is on his way to second base. The lead of the fifth, a much more controlled swing with two strikes. Viano Lopez big base hit right there and a center and it stays up for Merrill goes to third. It will be a sacrifice fly as stur scores. So put another one on the board for the Marlins. I tell you why. Three couple really nice swings and at bats lined to left, a base hit coming from second base is Lopez the throw off line it 73 Fish Pereda makes it 7 to 3. This crowd is fired up. Cronin will face the bottom third of Padre's order this one into center drop in front of hill. A base hit for Peralta to start the inning. There you go. A in the right field base hit as Kim back to back hits here off Cronin to begin the inning lying to left and a base hit for, they will stop. Peralta. Padres have the bases loaded with nobody out here in the seventh inning. And you can hear the Padre fans here at Home Depot Park, they're getting fired up. He is loaded. Nobody out. And you get Luisa Rice coming up next ground ball softly hit as the first baseman Bride will foot. They just did get the foot down run will score and the back door from third comes Peralta. He's now seven of four, Marlow and gets hit with the load them up. It's hit again. Jay Korth has doubled and hit by a pitch and grounded out on the ground is shortstop in the back Edwards to second to get out there. And now Lopez, the out at second run will score for the Padres and it's now 7 to 5, Anthony bender into the game. Big situation for the Padres third baseman has come through before swinging a miss and strike out on a sweeper. So now three and two boards takes and a breaking ball outside ball. Four, Xander kind of throws his bat towards Merrill in the on deck circle as if to say, hey, come and get a kid runner on first. Nobody out tying run at the plate in the eighth inning. You got the right guy coming up here late with the Padres trailing. This is a specialty Merrill to right field back. It's two run shot ties the score 7 to 7. The kid's done it again. Unbelievable. It's a good baseball game. Truly unbelievable. It is insane. It is crazy line to left and a base hit for Peralta. Why turn he's headed for two throw going there. Miss the tag drops the bunt down. That's a good one. A look at third throw to first and the sacrifice is complete as Bryce Johnson takes third base that is strike three. He goes looking second out of the inning two down in the eighth. Luis Flaired back at second base. Second baseman Lopez fires on a couple of hops. It's run scores Bryce Johnson from third Padres taking 87 lead with the infield hits with a one run lead two outs and nobody on in the bottom of the eighth inning. A very dangerous Jake Burger home run leader at the dish. Yeah, he's on fire his 20 first of the season. His last Lord have mercy. Sanchez is at third. The count is 1 to 2 on Bride ground ball to shortstop Kim. It's the throw gets out of the jam. Marlins get the one on Berger's Homer but they leave Sanchez at third, Robert Suarez into the game in a tie game on the road swing and a miss, he struck him out one down in the ninth inning. Uno Dos Adios. Spring to gas here it is 100 with some movement swings, pops it up high on the right side of the infield runner calling for it looking up into the roof here in Miami makes the two handed catch for a second consecutive night in Miami. We will play extra innings. He saw balls runners at 1st and 2nd. Nobody out expecting him to bunt in on the corners and he is squaring. Gets it down to third baseman Berger barehanded. The throw is in time. The sacrifice is complete. Gio getting it down nicely and a nice play by Berger gets it by a full step accurate throw on the run charging on that one on the ground to first base. Now he's gonna be tagged out run will score from third comes Wade Padres take a 98 lead. That would have been really, really dicey if he went to the play right there, they get the out right there but hey, Rice just put it into play for the run and have two guys in scoring position. Andres are four for four with runners in scoring position today. Fly ball center field Hill back a few steps and now over to make the catch Padres cash in the automatic runner in the top of the 10th inning and now they will try to slam the door in Miami 9 to 8. Padres have the lead over the Marlins. We head to the bottom of the 10th inning and into the game, the former Marlin Tanner scott Warners inching in as Hill drops down the bunt and it stops 1st and 3rd. Nobody out and he let it roll. Runner goes at first. He is punting and he's out. Now they had a chance for a double play, but nobody's at first. So he pops up the bunt bid and it's caught by Scott for the first out field. Still up, kim a little bit back in shortstop runner goes and no throw. So that is huge for the Marlins because a base hit from a guy who's notched, a bunch of them could potentially win it. Although the outfield will now be up as well on the ground to third base. Machado is coming home with it is thrown out at the plate by Machado two down in the 10th man. He got rid of it quickly. Nice job by Higasa hanging in there to erase the runner. Jake Beger is going to get a chance here in second two outs. Berger homered to tie the score swing and a miss he struck it on the Padres win in 10 innings and scott finishes the deal in Miami Padres. Hold on and win it 9 to 8. Another wild battle for the Padres and another victory as this great run continues.
