vain after women at night admitting to God the dimensions of the women he's lusted after and then never able to move from his lust and then impotent during the day I'd still take JFK all right brother unique view from the historian Doris K's Goodwin who was married to Richard goodn it worked for Jack Kennedy right yes he did and you know the truth is if I were Jack Kennedy's wife I'd have a totally different attitude toward all this I would hate him maybe even kill him I mean he does seem to have been driven in his pursuit of sex he does seem to have sort of an excitement in the chase that once he conquered he lost interest there's a really sad statement he once made he was asked once why he avoided real relationships and had so many of these super official ones and he said I don't really know I just can't help it and he looked the person who said it said like he was going to cry so it was an addiction so you don't want to be married to a guy like that but I'm a citizen of the country I'm an historian and I care much more what he did for the country and that record is far more interesting and a mixture of far more good than bad than hirh allows in his Zeal to expose the sexual side of Camelot and John Kennedy of course he sounds also uh the former president that Zoe was addicted to certainly amphetamines and that may be true too I mean this is not a these conversations are never about me and I and I'm not not presumptuous enough to think they are but I mean I am a recovering drug addict and I do understand about all that and you can get I mean I used to get those shots I mean they they can be fairly addictive and they can change the way you think about yourself and everything else oh I think there's no question about that in fact my husband says that you know when they'd be exhausted from the campaigns from long hours in the White House they could go to that White House doctor and what they thought they were getting was vitamin shots but they did get the White House staff would get these amphetamines too but to be fair I don't think people understood then some of the bad aspects of the amphetamines they just thought it kept them up kept them up and kept them going and energetic you well they used to describe them as B12 shots right that's what they thought we're getting these good vitamin shot uh do you think not to dwell on Mr hsh here but Gary Wills in uh surprisingly sloppy review written in a New York Review of Books that's almost prompting me to cancel my subscription to the New York Review of Books but that's a matter between me and them I guess but anyway he uh he said essentially that in uh to paraphrase Mr Wills but that in this mad effort to discredit Jack Kennedy that sear HS who after all did win a polisher prize for did expose a m Li Massacre I mean he's not you know it's not like he's some clown writing for People magazine but I mean Mr will suggesting that he's pretty much uh disassembled and in his words obliterated his own career and reputation do you think that's true or well I'll tell you I mean I know s h too he worked with my husband in the McCarthy campaign I like him I've seen him over the years he came to our house to interview dick for this book but I do think that something happened to him in the writing of this book because he got so excited about exposing the dark side it's as if no other side existed of these people I mean look at poor old honey Fitz John Kennedy's grandfather he starts off his chapter saying that the image that came down to us from other historians was one of a popular energetic mayor but the reality was that his mayorship was marked by cronyism and Corruption and payoffs and that's what John Kennedy learned and acquired his understanding of corruption well the truth is that honey Fitz did grow up in the old boss system of politics he did Round Up votes from the cemetery and he did have men who warded the streets followed by bicycles who were watching to see if they warded the Street followed by more people on jobs walking to follow the bicyclers so it was payroll padding without question but at the same time he was also considered a pretty good mayor he gave the poor citizens a system of public parks he set up a whole Vocational School System he provided clean streets with all those characters and he gave the Irish a sense of Pride after years of the Yankee dominance and if it hadn't been for his own woman troubles his woman by the name of toodles he would have won a third or fourth term so it's not only corruption that Jack learned from him which is the only thing HS says he learned from him but how to take care of your supporters how to pay attention to detail how to be a hard campaigner so I think he just presents like a prosecutor he's presenting one side much of which is sometimes true but it gives you a totally distorted picture as if that's all the person is the same with Joe Kennedy he was a very mixed character as a businessman he made a fortune he left no institution of note behind him I don't respect what he did in business as a public figure he was a deadly ambassador to the court of St James but HS never mentions that as the chairman of the SEC he was fabulous most historians say he did a great job as head of the maritime he was terrific he never mentions that as a father he says that he was a pain in the ass but the fact is those kids loved him they knew he believed in them Jack once said if I walked on a stage and I fell flat on my face my father would say I feel better than anyone else so there's no doubt that there was a bond and that other whole side is missing from hs's book and that's what pisses me off we're talking with an angry steamed K Goodwin the historian who's a current for wait till next year published by Simon auster a memoir about growing up a Brooklyn Dodger fan is on the New York Times best subtle list where it has been for uh a couple of months and she's I guess you're out on a book tour now right oh yeah I'm in the last phase of the book tour which really hasn't been so bad I mean the great thing is embarrassing to admit that but because of growing up in the 50s everybody I come in contact with remembers the a bomb drills or the early days of television or the polio scares or playing in the streets and they'll say It's my life you're describing and then I look at these people who are sometimes 400 pounds much richer than I was grew up in a different part of the country and I can't say it's my life you're talking about but it's great I feel a connection with these people back to the Kennedy thing for a second I I hear what you say about the the womanizing and I uh just speaking for myself found that to be the Le interesting the least interesting aspect of any of these re ations even Mr boff's book The Crisis years where he talked about this uh this German woman Ellen ramish whatever her name was and that Affair and how that was about to blow up in the president's face but but what I did find I don't know kind of disquieting was apparent not just Mr hsh's allegation but others of this Obsession that the Kennedy Brothers had with um uh assassinating Fidel Castro the role they perhaps played in the ass ation of DM in South Vietnam and and also the how their accomplishments even the Cuban Missile Crisis and I you know I understand I was talking to Jeff Greenfield earlier this morning how we got into all of that but the the disparaging for example of ADI Stevenson and his suggestion in the Cuban Missile Crisis that the resolution would be to trade the missiles in Turkey for the ones in Cuba and how he was ridiculed for that and that essentially is what happened and I but I found some of that kind of dis do you or does it matter yeah I don't think it's a good thing for governments to get in the business of trying to assassinate other leaders there's no question about that and you know if it's so that they were as obsessed as HH claims with assassinating Castro I would find that disquieting I mean it's also true however that at the end of Kennedy's Administration before he died negotiations had begun to have a reproach mon with Castro they had sent some guy up to the UN which Johnson later cancelled so once again there's another to all of this I mean I think in the end you know that what he really is concentrating on even though the book seems to get its legitimacy from the issues you just mentioned is the sex if you look at the number of chapters there's a whole chapter on Ellen there's a whole chapter on Judith exner you know and in the end I think most politicians the weird thing is if I had to make a bet I think most men we know in politics are more interested in the Applause of millions than they are of the love of one woman I mean I remember Lyndon Johnson so lonely in his ex that he would come to visit me at 5:00 a.m. in the morning to talk cuz he needed someone to talk to now however if a crowd had suddenly appeared outside the bedroom window he would have jumped out the window to see that crowd applauding him he would have cared about that much more than he did about me and I'll bet that's true about John Kennedy too so we seem to talk about sex when I don't think it's what drives them look how many politicians would probably get up at 5:00 a.m. to come and talk on your show so they could expose themselves to the public rather than be with their wife in bed we're doing a series uh in connection with PBS called the great minds of politics in which uh they've asked me to talk to four or five people well actually I I helped select the people uh who I thought were and along with these these Eggheads pretentious Yale Harvard yuppies from PBS I think of the great m one of the people we did settle on unanimously there was a absolutely a consensus with George C Goodman about and one of the thing I going to talk about now but one of the things I'm looking forward to chatting with you about all of that but one of the things that I'm sort of curious about I I I I I asked Jeff Greenfield this morning and let me ask you and I'll let you go uh well what is a uh a just a casually interested person I mean what should we think what appear with what appears to be reasonably true things about not only Kennedy but Johnson and Nixon and and and these Revelations themselves and the whole business about the presidency you know it's a really good question I mean I think when you take all of the tapes that have come out together particularly the Nixon tape and some of the Johnson tapes and now this Kennedy story it shows that it takes something to make a person go through all the hurdles to become president and by the time they get there they are an odd set of characters I mean look at John F Kennedy liking to swim nude in the white house as HH points out well LBJ also liked to swim nude in the white there's something about president that make you feel your bodies are so beautiful that you should swim nude um there's also they're complicated people people that have that drive for power and I think what seems unfair about just looking at them in the narrow way that hirs does is that the Kennedy tale as the Johnson tale is a complicated compound of you know glory and degradation achievement and tragedy strengths and weaknesses and what you really look for in someone writing about one of these people is some measure of empathy and understanding to rendered to the reader what the person really was with all their flaws and foibles they strange people who had make it to the presidency but also with their strengths and powers and to expose for exposure sake with no proof necessarily of the impact of those exposures on public Behavior which is the only relevant question is part of today's frenzy and I I just worry that sometimes it leaves a country without any respect for our leaders as as as flawed human beings but with strength and without any Heroes I mean certainly the Kennedy White House wasn't the Camelot it was made out to be but I don't think it was the Sodom and gomorah that it now seems to be either you know perhaps he wasn't working every hour of the desk at this day as they claimed in the early biographies but surely he wasn't screwing around as often as herh claims or he wouldn't have gotten anything done so in the end we judge them as public leaders and we know that we're dealing with odd creatures or they wouldn't be there they'd probably be at home with their wives in bed having a happier time and the other uh quandry for people like me just regular folks is who do we believe I mean who do we go you Charles now were talking about this the luxury that we have on this program to be able and I'm believe me I'm not patronizing you but to be able to talk to you or to best loss or or people like Greenfield but I mean most people can't pick the phone up and call you or call them and so you know the the problem is who do you who who do who do you trust well you know that's even true for an historian you can't always know you get so many different ways of looking at something and in the end you just have to go with Instinct you know like there was one line that the Secret Service guy said about John Kennedy that you just know isn't true it said that he was lazy and he really didn't come to work some days and he just was screwing around at night I know from everything I know about John Kennedy can say a lot of other things about him but that's just not true he had been disciplined all his life after he became a young adult man maybe not as a kid to working very hard to become president and the thought that he's just lazily lying around all day in that pool makes no sense from the person I know I suspect was in the pool but then he would jump out and be in his desk also so you have to just use your instinct as to what you know about these people I mean just as you know people wrote about Roosevelt having in somehow instigated Pearl Harbor to get us into the war the man I knew Roosevelt would not have allowed those guys in the Navy 4,000 guys to die in order to do that I I just know that's not right and I think that's what people have to do they have to sort out all this morass and come to their own understanding of what do I think about this person and what's my in think going to be and the more they hear the more they can sort it out for themselves well I mean again you have to have the luxury of being able to be exposed to you know what what you information you can trust anyway that's what's scary because there's such a frenzy now that you you know some young people this may be the only thing they know about John Kennedy and they'll not have any other sense that he also was a public figure who actually did some good things as president of the United States congratulations on your book and I guess I'll talk to you again well we obviously we'll talk to you again here and then I'll see you in January terrific thanks my friend byebye thanks Doris K Goodman the historian here in the IR morning program her current book wait till next year is a memoir about growing up in the 50s as a fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers she's in Kansas City on that book tour and uh wait till next year is uh on the best subtle list so which means you can buy it at amazon.com for about 40% off at Barnes & Noble and places like that for 30% off it's great it's a wonderful book it made Keith alberman cry it didn't make me cry I did like reading it and I like her 13 to Leon you promised an hour ago right that you were going to drop this that there was one more telephone call and two questions to Sam Tannon house and you were going to drop Whitaker Chambers Alder his or just Santa's going to bring you that new computer right or maybe he already brought you one and you just need an internet service that hasn't been naughty one that's nice how about one that actually works just program oh man I love talking to Doris K Goodman don't you just the best really she is just terrific but Charles and I we're talking about and you know that's really what the problem is here what is who do you uh I mean you pick up Seymour her's book do you believe seore hsh or do you believe that fat pretentious goof uh Gary Wills do you believe Michael bof do you believe Richard re I mean who do you believe and you know you just re re Ires believe me just an extraordinary amount of reading mhm and um particularly if you don't have the luxury picking up the phone talking to him gotta so um you know there's a national edition of The New York Times that you can get are you aware of that yeah yeah I mean if you live in uh Tucson you can get the New York Times every morning I mean I'm not trying to sell the New York Times but well maybe I am sounds like it sure does must mentioned the IM man well I think the W no they don't I think I don't care about that I think the Washington Post is a great newspaper I think the Boston Globe is a great newspaper um I think the Dallas Morty news is a pretty good newspaper Chicago sometimes I think the the San Francisco Chronicle I think the LA Times Detroit Free Press but if I had one paper that I you would that I could read it would be the New York Times and I mean that would be that just would be it on the old desert island and I don't think you can take a paper seriously that runs Comics frankly that's it you're not going to find him here so no sir plus it's maybe it's dunesbury but that would be it y so uh Fred reads the New York Times every morning he gets the national Edition there in Santa Fe good idea you can go over to Wild Oats there in Santa Fe and they have a dispenser there where you can she got the lingerie helped them out at the New York Times so what man it's just it's an extraordinary newspaper now we got old how Reigns our friend over there I love him him to take off the panties for a couple of months well we got him to take off the panties for a couple of months well he's put on a pair of fatigue shorts here for crying out loud he's got he's got on the hair shorts yeah got on his camo gear yeah up on the deer stand so another another kick butt editorial in this morning's New York Times yeah only weak thing about the times is their sports section they need U that's the Achilles they need somebody with a little Edge there and they they got a bunch of guys pretty much wussies like George vessie who I like a lot but he's pretty much a [ __ ] Bo absolutely which he would admit innocuous no fast ball so they got they don't have anybody over there with a fastball in the sports department so got a couple of guys that threaten occasionally but it's in the high 80s nobody throwing in the judge free says the White House has been slow indeed in producing documents in the campaign fundraising investigation here's an exchange with committee chairman Dan Burton that I made a recommendation C's inclusion in this legitimized fre Welles position for trying to make this a race issue is is is ridiculous and I don't have any doubt this fre Well's probably a pretty nice kid and just has a bad temper but this is don't don't don't sit down there and tell us that this is the first time anything like this has ever happened in your life when you attacked your teammate Jerome KY uh threatened to beat him up with a 2x4 and then threaten to come back with a gun yeah twice he threatened to kill somebody so I mean if you got a guy who's twice threatened to kill somebody he's lucky in any other situation having committed this act he would have been charged he would have been he would have been arrested and charged with a felony try assault he'd be in jail and and Johnny Cochran would be there trying to get him trying to get it pled down to a misdemeanor what are they talking about here being a sea block Warriors I mean that's that's you know that's just absolutely ridiculous the whole thing by by the way there's no excuse for people like that punk PJ carisimo either I'm not excusing his behavior no I mean he's a jerk and they they ought to get guys like that they you know these players I don't care who black or white players that's not that's irrelevant it's not a race issue believe me there's a plenty of issues in this country that are race issues this is not one of them it's not the issue it's not suddenly a race issue no but after 40 or 50 years of basketball what are you talking about here it's about the benjes yeah man that's what it's about about to Benjamin's baby absolutely but PJ car PJ carisimo should he should be thrown out of the league as well wonder what Hood the IR man grew up in yeah that's it 411 right money Compton I learned so that's so that's what I'm saying Johnny Cochran and that art tell him what a punk he is and and and and who's that buffoon Billy Hunter what's his story yeah you know you're in trouble with the National Basketball station when the president of the players league is that nitwit Patrick y the missing L Jesus get out of here president president Ying get out of here oxy Mo on there somehow or other come on I'm too tired to be Bernard the guy disparaging the Knicks who also just the other day was trying to get tickets to take his kid to a Knicks game so nothing better than watch the Knicks lose in their own house so well now wait a minute own house you you have revealed yourself to be a transparent Nick butt boy like the rest of them that's ridiculous one thing you will never see me at is a Nick's game I did it for my son well I do anything for my boy well expose him to the real world go ahead War come on war sleeping what will now be referred to as the Jerry Jones rule the NFL tired of seeing the Cowboys owner running up and down the sidelines trying to influence the referees has sent out a memo to all 30 NFL owners from now on no Club Personnel will be allowed to Badger or try to intimidate officials during the game sit down Jerry Jones abely get him out are you tired of hockey fights no no not at all well how about a hand for Montreal I mean the coach can't even say anything to the uh coaching players yeah sure well the coaching players can but but that's it why can't uh Jerry Jones simply designate himself a coach could well of course he could make himself a coach go the future is the future is gone Ken Dryden now the general manager of Toronto Maple Leafs as far as he's concerned the National Hockey League should not be treating fighting as though it's part of the game gotcha now that's that's different from what the owners feel because they think if you cut out fighting a good percentage of the people will stop coming to the game but if you really wanted to cut out fighting very simple drop your gloves you're out of the game because they can't fight with the gloves on what if they fall off accidentally they still can't fight they can't hit and hold but but if the rule is drop the gloves what if what if your gloves what if your hand itches and you take your gloves off to itch your hand what if your hands are hot and sweaty oh you're out change the rules you got to change the rues prevent off finally ask Kim Abdul Jabar hockey players should all change their name k ABD jaar finally it falls off you lost your Club fell St get him out finally after after constantly being ridiculed for my pro picks on the Imus in the Morning Show week after week let's go back to last Friday the Colts Jets game what's your next big friend Jets over the Colts well we know what Mike thinks the Jets will win this game and beat Tampa Bay they will win their next two game I would take the Colts and the seven points thank God and I'll I'll tell you why what seven of their losses six points or less oo did you know that Mike yes but what we're talking about one is the idea is to win the game they've won one out of one game out of 13 W come back to us please Colts 22 Jets 4 right water that's it but you didn't pick the Colts to win outright now wait a minute you picked the Colts to cover to cover they were seven-point Underdog you don't cover when you're the underdog I'm saying take the Colts and S they won't lose by seven points there's no way the Jets will win by seven but they could have won by three and you still would have I would have won that's right but so you so my point is you did not pick the cols to win the game now get out of the studio well thank you very much War wolf ni little Le dashing through the snow oh ho ho ho what the program tomorrow on the iris morning program access Hollywood's Pat O'Brien oh boy well I'll tell you something uh okay of those shows and not because he's my friend or your friend or have or that he's been sort of loosely associated with this program for a long time it is the best of those shows it is the of those shows it's level is a is a little higher and it's because of him yeah oh he brings a veneer of sophistication to the program and that's not the disparage our little friend jelle Fernandez or the uh or uh the little blonde babe on it or any of those other people they're fine no but uh O'Brien is uh a notch above all those folks because one he's smart remember O'Brien came out of news once working with David Brinkley and those folks yeah before he decided you know to go Heraldo on us yeah yeah but O'Brien is smart and funny yep and I saw a uh an interview he did with Denzel Washington that was just first R yep I'm not surpris funny and charming and seemed like yeah but how was Pat seemed like Mr Washington enjoyed it in that I'm sure Denzel is tired of talking to idiot Barbie doll Talking Heads on these lame Entertainment Television programs so and I even I even spoke to Mr Brian privately and congratulated him on his performance which he seemed very suspect at my praising him as well he should yeah waiting for the other shoter oh sure it's like when I tell Lupa but like Lupa WR Callum and I'll I'll say to Lupa you know feel was a great column there's always a pause you know yeah if he's waiting for you know but you suck your little shrimp as though you're you're concealing the hammer holding it down thigh you know what Lua doesn't know that one of my doormen Matt uh talvi I believe his name is it's not my doorman he a doorman in a building where I own an apartment has been writing to shoot from the lip for about eight years now and every letter he's ever written has been published no kidding yeah he was in the column last Sunday really yeah I love it obviously a big Lupa fan yeah as are we so he's the one I have a perfect relationship with who's been a friend of mine for 20 years buff that 20 has it been 20 years I don't think it's been quite that long but it's been a while yes I never have to see him that's and that is the relationship that you seek with friends is it not yes I simply speak with him on the phone perfect for him he's loving and um believe me he's oh sure that does not just disappoint him this is a two-way street believe it's not it's not like Lupa saying oh gosh Taylor can we get together with Don and Deedra like anyone's saying that no not well my wife has friends I don't have any friends but anyway uh it's going to be dark tonight too it's a quarter till L hour also the New York state parks commissioner uh bernardet Castro she'll be here tomorrow great yeah uh with her new mush hm looking like hoochi men yeah skin uh skin stretched tighter than uh Mick fleetwood's snare drum she could use one of those n ruckles for a chin now you know I'm watching PBS last night and they're running this Fleetwood Mac concert that they just did and so I'm talking to Lou this morning and I said because Lou is the man's uh cultural bridge to uh rock and roll yeah because I'm still back in the days of Leed Zeppelin you know John May and that's where I kind of dropped off caned heat caned heat Tommy dorsy yeah oh well no Tomy dorsy Lim lighters so I always I just always dismissed Fleetwood Mack as a group like the Archies I mean I never took it much more seriously than that yeah the Partridge Family or cheese yeah but I guess I've been making a mistake there you go see because Stevie Nicks first of all is great I mean she's only a couple years younger than I am and Lindsay Buckingham I mean is a great guitar player plus plus plus a plus a great act a great you know can play he can play and sing and write so we got Stevie Nicks who's great and Lindsey Buckingham old fat Mick Fleetwood who's a absolute whack job and then uh John MC John mcve is on base and his wife who plays keyboards she's very good too she's great too I mean so so i d and I watching this concert last night so these people are you're thinking what was I where where have I been why I why was I so dismissive of these people I mean like we were listening to the Eagles the other day me and Rob to to the album um that heartaches tonight's on and long run that's sely those are I mean those are great records well for my taste but uh and I on my Jude boox you know I've got a I've got couple of Fleetwood Mac albums I've never listened to that changes now that's over sure that changes in 13 minutes absolutely up go now so every day I go back to and I punch up Delbert or Dwight Yokum or Eagles or they can hear it on the third [Laughter] floor that's where that's at that's what I'm saying deal with IM man Big W what did to deal with the IM man all right let me tell you what you can do here's a big big Southwest holiday uh uh project for you you go to patad golf appliances there in El Paso Texas buy a big screen TV right go over to your Jeep dealer there in El Paso buy one of these new 5.9 limited Grand Cherokee Jeeps okay all right I've got it take it over to River AutoCraft and see Keenan and cleat yep have them customize it for you then buy a trailer for it drive over to Sherman Barnett's uh uh Harley-Davidson dealership by the way the world's largest Harley-Davidson dealership buy one of them big Hogs from Sherman then get back in your customized Jeep with your big screen TV in it and with your Harley on the trailer in the back yeah drive up to the man's hat shop in Albuquerque New Mexico they're on Central Avenue buy go and see Stewart and boys and buy yourself a big old resist Hall and you'll find that this this whole project is taking you about a month MH and you spent around $70,000 you really need to be put to sleep but you're happy back in the 70s believe me so I but I wasn't paying any attention and you were sitting there with me they're better now and uh they're better now you played them but you didn't uh you didn't absorb dismissed him the flew Mac to me was a part that wasn't real music John May though that that was you know those are those are records uh Led Zeppelin that those are records not these clowns the some of the eagle stuff not these people however captain beart that was a Frank Zappa that's what I was into not Fleetwood Mack well what has happened the Archies huh The Archies that kind of stuff but I mean I I watched them the other night and then I listened to their album yesterday and um I don't have the video for this but this is a great cut from their new album which is in the top five all over the country and of course they're on tour thing called Silver Springs at Stevie Nick [Applause] [Music] Road message with [Applause] we go beyond them sorry baby I'm s War news time it's 5 minutes past the hour and coming up in a little bit the New York State's C Parks commissioner our old friend uh Bernard at Castro who could very well very very well can't it's a matter with you could very well be the new lieutenant governor of the state of New York could be Could Happen she ran against Pat monan for the United States Senate last time around got 40% of the vote damn near w you know how does that help us her yeah I don't know I like her she's very smart me does it help us if she's lieutenant governor it doesn't I I like the current governor by the way paky about uh leave my president alone too dick Mo said a good quote about Bill Clinton but people were speculating during his second term whether he was going to go left or go right Morris said nobody thought he was going to go to sleep which is essentially what he's done he's a fat loser what's your not like him but he's a fat been president how much more money have you made terms of the economy it certainly had nothing to do with him well he's president United States no it had to do with Mel Carmon that's who it had of course Mel Carmon okay well had nothing to do with Bill Clinton car Bill Bill Clinton's a creep and a you know I like him though I don't I don't unamerican Activities Committee when where is Bernie were grilling these Hollywood Communists right dton trumo those people yeah so I'll be getting into this now God great be focusing on this do you hand out rope and weapons when you start getting into these issues do you realize how the aleris thing plays I'm up early in the morning as you know I'm a runner okay so I run and I turn on of course the I'm is the morning program yeah on 570 KAC in Los Angeles um and I have to listen to you talk about these things and in La know that you're listening to KAC and the I'm wi program it might be penis you like that does that matter God oh and they say they're taking John Armstrong's word that two children who are two and four years old are still okay conversations with the children back up Armstrong's assertions that he's treating them all right police spokesman Sergeant Jeff G says the hostage crisis is tough on everybody including the cops we all have children and uh it's it tugs at you a little bit you want this you know you hope and pray that this thing ends cut off his penis gram said the woman what go ahead the woman uh it was very quick apparently it didn't require you know any time to commit this act and that Mr Hall did not get to the hospital for some 8 hours after the incident paramedics found him collapsed on the front law surgeons there were not able to reattach it so so he has lost that um we also understand that he's lucky to be alive had he had he waited much longer to summon Aid uh he literally could have bled to death so the unable in this uh in in this particular episode of a a penis severing to reattach the organ hate when that happens I do too good but I mean she got even right she got even for the death of a of a friend good for her she did was season with something unique from framing plus located at the corner of Woodruff Road and Highway 14 at Maxwell pass it down the lane D Pier Down the Lane Smith 4 seconds yeah it's all it took was 4 seconds that's all I can stand fine Golden State beats the LA Lakers good morning Mike brainwood Sports Tim Roy the call from San Francisco where the Warriors beat the Lakers 9392 second straight home win for the Warriors since Latrell spre well was fired spr well supporters continue to be heard the latest New York State's Parks commissioner bernardet Castro this man is one of the finest men I have ever met Castro standing by her friend of many many years and she'll com further on the well situation later on here on theis in the morning C andrell are friends known each other for a long time when did she say that we missed that when did she say that you know what who she was talking about on Nightline she was talking about Saul Walker remember that Saul Walker is a Supreme Court Judge here in New York who was mail and who was who was stalking this woman and writing her uh uh he was having an affair with some woman and then he wrote her threatening letters he sent her 14-year-old daughter a condom in the mail I mean it's a nut he did some time right course a diary abolutely black like me Diaries and he was in a halfway house yeah or under house arrest or something and uh and somehow bernardet got she she somehow thought that Saul Walker was listening to this radio program so she calls up in fact I said he was listening which I'm having obviously no idea right she calls up remember sure I do and she's talking to judge Walker through this radio program thinking that he's sitting there with his handcuffs on listen electronic beeper around his yeah exactly it a weird deal hang in there Soul we're all with you yeah and is she a friend of his is that yeah she well he was he was a he was a big he was a huge highly connected guy here in New York and he turned out to be a Murray of the Wizards no surprise at the team's Hotel prior to the game the two teammates exchanging blows one with left Murray with a cut that required stitches after he took a punch in the face from Strickland who apparently landed several punches as the NBA with some fine Representatives continue here in the 97 they arguing about Strickland stole his Sam Tannon housee book his M man Football news Jim Kelly may come out of retirement the former Bills quarterback said yesterday several NFL teams have made offers for him to return next season yeah Kelly says he doesn't know if he'll return or not he's right now broadcasting for NBC Sports meanwhile Tom Osborne is not returning that's for sure he's retiring after 25 years as head coach at Nebraska that announcements much to the dismay of first lady Hillary Clinton oh Tom many other people feeling the same way for poor Tom Osborne the man who will succeed him is Frank solich I don't know that you replace Tom Osborne as much as you follow him that makes sense no Osborne will Coach the team his final game the Orange Bowl against Tennessee and could go out as a national champion they're undefeated they're not going to be national champions no they're not because the coaches will not the coaches will not vote them National why would you say that the Missouri game was a was a freak game uh the coaches you know barely beat Colorado barely beat Colorado everybody knows that schedule no all right so UCLA if they win and Michigan loses then they won't be national champions is that what you're telling me I don't think Michigan's going to lose it's the best defense in was question that wasn't the question answer the questions Pat please 26 after the hour here what I'm saying I've never really done this kind of thing bernardette CER she's a New York state parks commissioner yep and Saturday night Governor Rockefeller is presenting uh governor paky governor paky is presenting something to Lawrence Rockefeller who's the brother of uh the late David and Nelson right and uh so anyway let's talk about Doris Duke now Foundation that gave us the final $5 million of the $55 million purchase of Sterling Forest this is a federal issue the feds gave us money Governor Whitman gave us 10 Governor [ __ ] put in 16 and now we were short five MH this week the Doris Duke New Foundation number 12 in the country they'll no no she was slightly accent but she was a wonderful woman who loved animals she loved the Arts Jaz she locked up in her house with like 100 cats or something Charles something something along the no she didn't have some some animal there's some animal story there she had lots of variety like Noah's Arc she had a few camels she liked animals okay so one of her Estates she had a couple camels one of her Estates she just loved her animals no she was weird but she loved jazz music she was not weird when she involved in some big divorce some nasty big divorce deal or some her Butler married her or something or they Garden she get with doing there was some big uh State settlement problem there that's that's behind us all the litigation is behind the foundation Mr James Gil who's a fine fine lawyer in New York is Chairman and uh Joan speo from a former executive of the americ Express is the executive director okay good congratulations okay thank you who's going to run against damato do you think against Senator damato I don't know you know his numbers are getting so strong um that I think they're getting better they're they're getting strong for him it's wrong you know he's always been an underdog this early would it be great if Jalene Ferraro ran against him well I I think it' be pretty tough for Senator deato to bring up the mob stuff with her right and her husband no and he wouldn't do that anyway he would do that I'm talking to you he he will stick to the issues and I think he will point to the fact far to the left no I think he's going to cite the fact that she's far to the left and says I'm Geraldine Ferraro from the left I'm Geraldine Ferraro on CNN you don't think he's going to talk about her husband people's bodies in their Tru a drug dealer son a drug dealer will talk about issues and how she will come down to the left of every single issue there is and that and it will be an interesting race and he will win when are you going to run again you know what I love being in this appointed cabinet position I can understand why Kissinger no I swear to God Kissinger never ran for office think of the policy making think of how he worked with so many different leaders and I mean George [ __ ] I have I personally I'm not speaking speaking for the governor or his staff personally I think he's going to be president one day and I think Governor if you're listening I want to be Secretary of the Interior why don't you just simply call the governor rather than coming on his program and like like remember the time you were on the program on the phone you're talking to sa Walker I thought you thought Saul was listening have you seen him since he got out of jail by the way I haven't I haven't but he's turned his life around he's now teaching and and but didn't you guys used to be friends we certainly did I sense a condom somebody and somebody you turn your back on you know what I didn't turn my back Saul Walker anyone will tell you that knew him this was unbelievably shocking because this was a brilliant man and he is still brilant thank you Bernard he is not dead he's a brilliant man he is teaching he is writing um he's turned his life around he was Ill at the time and I'm sure we all have regrets Don and you have regrets I wasn't mailing condoms for 14-year-old kids I know I don't know I did a little cocaine or some LSD and drank a little bit but I mean I wasn't a and stalking women so right and it was just unfortunate all I can tell you is I no one can make excuses for it other than to say he was sick and he made a horrible mistake so but he's brilliant when you guys have these big dinner parties sa's not there anymore right no the time you stood me up at my daughter's wedding my only daughter's wedding you had a seat to my right the mother of the bride Saul Walker was at the table uh the then publisher of news day was there Bob Johnson and you were in no show Don and people waited for you all night we waited had sa been arrested BR my little daughter's heart had Saul been arrested at that time no about two weeks later uh January 12th January 12 big day go ahead suprem is the Supreme Court going to issue a decision or hear arguments in the ls Island thing they're just going to hear arguments about who owns LS Island and it's really quite ridiculous who does Own It New York New York owns it there was a pack back in the 1800s between New York and New Jersey and the language says that New York shall have authority over Ellis Island my father arrived at Ellis Island Italian immigrant do you think he thought he arrived in New Jersey give me a break I don't know no historically you know I'm the historic I'm the state historic preservation officer did you know that no I didn't our agency is in charge of all historic preserv TR to focus on and that's why I care if New Jersey gets title to this island it's ridiculous they're going to build a permanent Bridge from New Jersey to Ellis Island I know they'll do that first right out of the barrel that's very bad I mean Ellis Island is an island right millions and millions of immigrants Irving Berlin why does it make any difference who owns it it makes a big difference makes a big difference to all of those who thought they were born in New York their birth certificate say it makes a huge difference to the story and the history and the fabric of New York state does it make a financial difference I think there will be some Financial certainly if they build a permanent Bridge first of all that's that's a no no nationally preservationist nationally we wouldn't want a would we I want you to write to senator lenberg who wants to build a bridge we don't want a bridge don't want a bridge it's ridiculous uh who's going to argue for the state in the art you know well it'll be the Attorney General I don't know if he'll be there himself but our attorney general Dennis vodka who's doing a great job uh someone I'm going to try to be there for the for the arguments I want to hear them myself and and I'm hoping some of the justices listen to you this morning and and understand I'm sure they all gathered around the radio Clarence Thomas and all of them yeah I think so renquist and the rest of them Sandra day they're all still listens yeah I'm sure I'm sure they're all gathered you want in fact in fact I have it on Bernard Bernard just said in on my headphones right now that he happens to know that six of the Supreme Court Justices list right is that right now Bernie is that right if you have a message that you would like to try to get to any of these Supreme Court Justices feel free to speak directly to them now no I fell for that once young man and I'm not ping all right I admit I in their cars right
