Kaos Season 1 Explained | Netflix’s Bold Take on Mythology

y'all welcome back to the channel uh listen Jeff Goldblum as Zeus was something that I didn't know I needed but I'm so glad so glad they did it if you guys are new here my name is Ashley and this is my sweet perspective where I give my take on all things TV and movie related and y'all know that I'm here to put you on okay and so this evening we are going to be having a live talking all about the brand new Netflix series that premiered last week called chaos uh this is an eight episode series all episodes are out and I wanted to come just to give you guys a brief rundown of what happened in this series so that you're prepared for tonight okay so let's get into it again as I mentioned in the opening Jeff gold Blum plays Zeus right and in this world um so here's the thing I want you guys to think about this series if you've seen American Gods all right um I want to say this is it gives American Gods if American Gods was like a dramedy okay because I'd call this a comedy but there's some heavy things going on some heavy topics some heavy issues and it's dark okay just going to set it right there but when I tell you the acting is superb the writing is great um and I know some people were in the comments talking about this is woke woke woke woke woke and I want you to know what you guys thought uh Greece was all about back then and Rome was all about back then honey it was debauchery it was a bakan all everything was going going on so I I didn't get that comment but anyway y'all so imagine that the Greek pantheon is still the major belief system right uh and so you know they worship the gods they have you know their day that they celebrate Zeus and the gods are still very actively involved in everyday people's Affairs well that's the scene we have a Zeus that's getting older that's getting paranoid uh and again Jeff gold Blum plays a very convincing megalomaniac right uh someone who is neurotic and uh intense and brutal and unfeeling uh selfish narcissist that that's everything that he's going to give as his portrayal of Zeus and then we have Hera which is his wife and and y'all know about Hera honey um and then we have Prometheus who is you know attached to this rock paying for his crimes of giving Humanity fire and all the things um perpetually being picked up by birds uh and then we have Iden you know his brother who is having an affair with his wife okay meanwhile Hades is down you know down below doing his best to keep things afloat with his wifey panie and y'all it's so interesting I love the portrayal of panie um not anything that I would ever have imagined I think what the creator of this show does um so well is that he uh has all of these juxtapositions of these de ities we thought you know based on you know Greek mythology and all of that into these characters that we actually see on the screen and it actually is compelling so Zeus is worried about losing everything okay his son dionis is out here pleasure is not pleasuring for him anymore and he needs something deeper so he's on a mission we get a prophecy very early in the beginning because it's narrated by Prometheus and there's the plan that's been working um for quite a while okay but now is the time for all of the pieces to come into play we have three actually they say three humans but there's actually four humans that are involved we have uriy which is rid um we have orus which is her husband uh we have canus which is someone else you know betrayed by his mama and then we have Ari okay who is the daughter of the president of is it cre y'all correct me in the comments if I'm wrong honey and so these four are going to cross paths okay throughout this series to accomplish prometheus's plan right which is basically to oust Zeus to take away Zeus's Powers because he's doing the literal most so literally the Journey of these Eight Episodes is us watching this plan unfurl we meet the fates honey we meet the prophets uh we we meet the tasas which I actually love that's hara's like toness women Society um you guys it is so much fun um it it is I mean like I said there are moments that are a little deep um but I really really enjoyed this I think this is a worthwhile watch and I can't wait to break this down in Greater detail so you guys if you haven't watched it go watch it go take some time watch it or if you did already watch it drop it in the comments let me know what you thought of it um yeah and don't miss the live tonight because we are going to be talking all things chaos and I cannot wait thank you guys so much for watching um yeah let me know if you wanted a more indepth review because you know we can always do that as well but thank you guys so much for watching please be sure to like comment subscribe do all of the things all right and I will see y'all in the next video thanks for watching bye
