🚨 SHOCKED: Tim Patrick is OUT along with Samaje Perine & My 53-Man Roster Prediction!

Broncos Country what is going on Happy Victory Monday got my victory Monday shirt on in man what a Monday it was we got the roster being cut down from 90 players to 53 by tomorrow afternoon at some point and we've talked about this uh throughout the offseason I think I put a video out on it a couple weeks ago what would happen if we moved on from Tim Patrick and samaj as well as Jared stum and it looks like at least two of those three names the Broncos are moving on from in a little bit of a surprise to me shocked when it came to Tim Patrick you've seen how productive he's been not only having moments in training camp but his production in the preseason seemed to be developing a good rapport with bone Knicks now spot track has corrected the cap implications I believe my video from a few weeks ago is now with incorrect information we'll take a look at or it was with incorrect information now that's been corrected but it looks like the Broncos moving on from Tim Patrick and samaj perine will save I think about $3 million total collectively between moving on from both of them so not a ton in cap savings but still it does help again when you got 30 million plus in dead money next offseason saving having some salary cap room to roll over into next next year is is very helpful so I I do um I can get behind moving on from Tim Patrick uh but I think the way that I'm interpreting this is just how confident Shawn pyton is and some of the other wide receivers that we've had in this group right we've had Brandon Johnson make a ton of plays Will Jordan Humphrey right I think that he has a continue to hold trust from Shawn pton of course Devon B is perform in like you would expect when you draft a 26y old rookie you don't draft him at 26 to develop him no and I think that's the biggest takeaway that I have from this is that Devon Val is ready to be in this rotation I think that this speaks well for Marvin Mims I just got watching got done watching the all 22 from the tape from the game yesterday and I think we saw a better game from Troy Frank not only on the stat sheet but just in the effort level and his blocking the route running looked good so I think this speaks positively about his game and samaj perine it's a crowded running back room he's going to be great on the Dallas Cowboy something like that but y'all let me know your thoughts I will break down some of man we got a crumble cookies account in here absolutely and crumble cookies from Salt Lake City if I remember this correctly I could be wrong on this but I think you guys are Utah uh people so that makes sense why it's vet time baby absolutely love it but I will break down my 53 man roster prediction projection right now here in just a minute so uh but want to say hi of course to crumble cookies huge fan of y'all uh cookies are amazing let's talk nuggets what's going on nuggets fans please go subscribe to let's talk nuggets keep sticking with it it's going to pay off what would you want in a trade for Tim Patrick I hope a fourth round pick at least oh man would that be really nice now um I guess it depends on what cap number this other team would be taking on but I think it would be pretty minimal I think it's probably more realistic that we get probably a sixth or seventh rounder for him as well as Sam P Ryan which again I'll totally take because crumble if we're able to find more Von in the future with these picks that we get huge win Shawn Payton can find these guys in the later parts of the Draft Marcus coulston a seventh round pick an older Wide Receiver right he has done this before he will do it again he will find another diamond in the rough yet again and so these draft picks these late round these day three picks whatever they are they have more value to us than maybe at the tail end of John Elway's tenure here is GM man you know what I'm saying I don't know if they were kind of putting in the homework like we we see Shawn pton George Payton really grinding burning the midnight oil to do so I would love it I think I would grade it in A+ plus if we got a fourth round for Tim Patrick I imagine it's probably going to be a little something later but I think that that's perfectly reasonable to wish for absolutely and I'm with you on Troy Franklin better than Jerry Judy shout out to respect my co he is a beloved Jerry Judy Stan that's just the one thing we'll have to disagree on it's okay but man I I hated Jerry Judy man I hated his his attitude as long as Troy Franklin's not going at it with people on Twitter like weirdos that's I'm totally game I think he's got a great upside better speed more speed than Jerry Judy we'll see how it all works out but uh overall let's go ahead and play through this scenario and just how much cap space we save actually cutting these guys or trading them away give me one second to pull this up smash that like as I pull this up let me know who's watching in the comments greatly appreciate every single one of you okay let's go ahead and you know my face could probably be smaller okay let's run it so we're going to manage this roster apologies I don't have an ad blocker thing going here because I do like to support these sites but anyways let's go ahead and find Tim Patrick's deal here we go so you see here if we release him or trade him it's still about $6 million in dead money so we do gain 1.125 million in cutting or releasing him and then when we go to samaj a rine it is the same number for either a trade or release being 1.5 million so total gain in cap space will be a little over $41 million taking our top 51 cap space to just under $10 million again I believe we can roll any savings over that we have from the year into next year which again when you got 30 30 plus million of Russell Wilson dead money that's very important to be able to chip away at that again we we very well could have one of the most available salary caps in the whole NFL next year right now we're already in the top 10 I believe According to some of the lovely commenters in my stream yesterday that is it's wonderful I love how Shawn Payton and George pton are managing this cap situation with Russell Wilson and again if you're able to trade these guys not only get the cap savings which I think is important in a great value in itself if you're really feeling great about the wide receiver room and the running back room which I feel like we are um if you're able to get day three draft picks on top of it I mean isn't that just extra icing on the cake uh that's phenomenal stuff now let's talk about Jared STM as well I know that he's been in the media the local media has been talking about him because he spent like 30 seconds out of his five minute presser not talking about Bo Knicks and just talking about him personally how he was bummed that he's not the starter how he believes he's an NFL starter uh I think the local media is just blowing this out of proportion uh Jared STM is not a me guy um if if that was the case you wouldn't see teams continue to bring him in as in my opinion a a a good to high-end backup in this league and I I think that that narrative spin was just ridiculous taking 30 seconds out of his whole thing uh just to spin a narrative uh he he's been nothing but class since he's got here and if you got a guy in the team that doesn't believe that he's an NFL starting caliber player what the hell are you doing uh I want every quarterback in this room to feel like they have a future and a long career ahead of them um and again you just got to look at at it in context I think that that is a nothing Burger story I think that people are just doing that for clicks stirring up controversy Jared stm's here I think we are going to see uh 53 our 53 man roster include three quarterbacks uh to to begin with but if we do trade Jarrett stum we are able to um wow we are able to gain these freaking ads $6 million if we trade Jared stum which I don't think is going to be possible uh but we will save $5 million if we release him so a little bit different either way that's going to uh put us into a great standing it could still put us into just under $16 million just under $15 million in cap space if we move on from all three of the dudes that I talked about funny enough just a few weeks ago and lastly one guy let's go ahead and get to my 53 man prediction right now um one guy that I do have us releasing would be Tron Smith I know that one's a little bit of a controversial one but it looks like we would save 07 million on the cap releasing him uh he's definitely a bubble guy let's go ahead and get to it and then I'll get to some of your comments okay so hopefully you guys are able to see this all right maybe I'll increase this a little bit so you guys can see it a little bit better um okay so this is what I got right now so 25 guys on offense 25 guys on defense uh three on special teams we'll take care of special teams right away uh will Lutz Riley Dixon and uh faon fabron our Long Snapper that's three spots let's go ahead and move to the offense the offense I got the three quarterbacks again my goal if I'm in control of the team right my goal to make the playoffs okay so that means we need to keep that uh keep the ship going right or whatever the saying is we got to keep the momentum going even if we have an injury at the quarterback position that's why I want three quarterbacks here um I don't want to put bonucci out in a you know must-win situation anything like that have these guys here in the system have them all comfortable running backs I think with moving on from perine and Tyler batty wats was one of those guys that I had a prediction to make the roster but that is not happening I think it's very clear that Tyler batty is that rb4 whether he's on the practice squad active roster remains to be seen but here I just have us going with three running backs Javonte Williams Jalil mlin and audre EST now if we do move on from Michael Burton a fullback that I have on the roster we very well could keep a um what we could keep a fourth tied end right now I have us cutting Nate Atkins and keeping Greg doul Adam Troutman and Lucas koll if we're going in jumbo sets I have us keeping a total of nine offensive linemen so we could put those guys in if we're needing to go jumbo or kind of a goal line set obviously if we need more tight ends we guys lining up there we can do it and Lil Jordan Humphrey also kind of takes on that role can I think he's a very good inline blocker which I think why Shawn Payton has kind of always kept him around whether it's been New Orleans or Denver but getting ahead of myself let's talk about the wide receiver room without Tim Patrick here Courtland Sutton Josh Reynolds Devon Val Marvin Mims Troy Franklin and L Jordan Humphrey again I'm bringing Humphrey in because I like his versatility more in the Run game I think he's a little bit bigger a little bit better of a blocker than Brandon Johnson now if they decide to have a seven wide receiver here or if somebody gets hurt somebody gets IR I think Brandon Johnson is that next guy onto the roster no doubt that's that's how I think this thing's going to go but I can understand I think Brandon Johnson does probably bring a little bit more vertically and in big playability in the receiving game both of them had wonderful plays last year uh bit big plays but I'm keeping Humphrey because of blocking uh with three tight ends so I hope that makes sense let me know if you guys disagree or agree with this wide receiver room I think that that's one of the more debatable ones offensive line um surprise here outside of bus and mcglen at tackle I got Matt per making the roster I thought he actually looked pretty good I thought that this guy was dead weight I saw this as terrible signing and I think Zack Stree Shawn Payton they saw something there crit to those guys that's why they're making the decisions and not me I thought that EAS looked much better than what I expected this year in preseason and I think he's made this roster kind of controversial to keep two tackles if both of them are going to be swing tackles but right now I just would like that flexibility so I do want to keep peski as well now this is where things get interesting uh guard Center the interior positions on the offensive line Luke wattenberg Quinn Miners Ben Powers I think that those guys are going to be our three starting interior linemen with thror and muster making the roster muster making the roster now you might you might say David what what happened to Alex foresight again I I think we've seen kind of must muster I need to change his name muster jump him a little bit maybe I'm wrong on that I haven't paid as close attention to the offensive line uh this past game as I have compared to like week one but but to me it seems like muster gotten snaps at center before him and I think he's looked better at guard curious what your guys thoughts are better at guard than foresight yeah I haven't exactly loved how forsight has looked at guard but again muster plays guard Center just like L wattenberg does and I think throck Morton has has look good as well so that's the offensive side of the ball that I have right now again I think for fory would be one of those high-end practice squad guys along with fory and Tyler batty those would be some guys I'd want to keep now let's move on to the defense again got 25 guys over here as well wanting to stack up on the defensive line I want to have a lot of bodies to rotate through both the interior and at the edge positions so I got DJ Jones we got Zack Allen John Franklin Meers our starters over there then in the two deep we got Malcolm Ro aaza and uh Jackson Jordan Jackson Jordan Jackson's a great example of why you develop a guy for two years on a practice squad I thought that he's looked fantastic uh through throughout preseason and getting the starts at certain certain points in preseason with other guys you know from this starting projected starting lineup with him starting I think that that goes to show that he had really has earned the trust of the coaching staff and started as a practice squad guy with New Orleans come over here to Denver last year practice squad and now you see him in his year three what that development does he's looked like a a great addition that we found and we developed at the edge Jonathan Cooper Baron Browning Jonah Ellis Nick Bonino and I got DeAndre Tillman making this you can't keep Tillman off the roster this guy was getting sacks tackles for lot he was batting balls he was all over the place similar to a guy like kedron Smith I'll talk about here in a minute he's made too many plays you just can't ignore it is it little bit of a luxury to keep maybe a fifth Edge right now maybe but uh maybe we go a little bit light at corner to allow that to happen I like that inside linebacker Singleton Cody Barton Jonas Griffith Justin sternad of course um Bailey had that pick six and maybe he makes the roster I think another one of these bubble guys that if he's not on the roster he will be on the practice squad with a chance to be one of the first additions to the roster if we need to add dude to injury cornerback I got us keeping five right now that is Patrick San jaquin McMillan Levi Wallace Riley moss and deari matthys now if deari mattisse needs to go on IR I think yeah you can continue to bring somebody back like Tron Smith somebody who's good on special teams but I think that we've seen Skinner do a good job on special teams again I I think we got a lot of good special teams players right now and I don't know if Tron Smith especially with what what we also have at returner right now I don't know if that's necessarily needed if we need a player like him right now um uh on the roster but that's kind of how I have us with the cornerback room right now and then safety I got us keeping five safeties PJ lock Brandon Jones Devon key JL Skinner and Kyron Smith maybe that's a little bit of a luxury too but I couldn't leave Kyron Smith off this even though Devon Key's ahead of him and I'm not gonna cut Skinner I thought that he's been pretty good for us as well and a good player on special teams but I I think that again this guy was involved in like five turnovers throughout three games that something like that he was very impressive and I want to see him on this roster and what I value I think again is just when the lights come on who is really making the plays and both DeAndre Tillman and KRON Smith were making plays when the games were going and I I think that's very important to recognize and I think it should play importance when it comes to being on a team where you need to play where you need to make plays when the lights are on so with that being said I will get to some of your comments what do you guys think about this um thank you so much I'll get to some of these comments from crumble cookies yeah Judy gave no effort on routes where he wasn't getting the ball I totally agree with you you you say I think we should release toari mattisse was on the train of if we need to free up some cap space this offseason releasing deari matthysse um I think that's still could be a possibility especially with his sprained ankle to be honest right now I'd like to keep him based off of the fact that I think we have seen him play better uh this this preseason the one we saw last year but I think that's totally I think that's totally reasonable I think it's a total possibility that he could be cut kedron Smith Reminds Me of dquan McMillan from last year another diamond in the rough you were absolutely right you are absolutely right and what jquan McMillan do just made plays just made plays and you're absolutely right about this as well so much depth on this team in every position I mean we're we're possibly going to get some draft compensation for guys that aren't going to make this team and it's been a long while since we've been in position to uh do something like this consistently so uh this is uh this is great I know we traded a conditional six or seventh for like Albert o when we traded him to Philly but I can't even remember if he actually made that roster or anything like that Jordan Jackson 64 293 pounds need to have big bodies on your dline um yeah I guess he might be a tad under siiz but when you turn on the tape I mean I'll do a film review on him uh this week crumble cookies he was one of the players I was looking at going through the film from yesterday's game and I mean this man was was he was splitting double teams he was just pushing dudes around out the way um yeah he's going against backups but that's what you should be doing I've been very impressed by his uh ability to stand his ground and his strength and I I think um I don't know I think maybe he just plays a little bit bigger than the than the size that's uh you know on the roster sheet but I've been very impressed with him Douglas wall what's going on hope you're doing well what's up Dave I have a theory PP talk about PP talk about Tim P he was good in preseason I think they were advertising him May oh may you meant to say SP Shawn pton talks about Tim Patrick he was good in preseason I think they were advertising him knowing they are parting way same with other players and that could be typical Shawn Payton 4 d chess uh you're absolutely right it could be to just showcase him to get him better opportunity and like we saw with Dante stalworth no uh not Dante stalworth with Marcus coulston there was no need anymore for Dante stalworth in New Orleans it could be a very similar thing with Devon V and Tim Patrick yeah it's ironic V has tp's old number and I guess you could argue he took his roster too Sol kma thank you so much for the comment need to get deari matthys and keep Tim Patrick because he's a big Target to make catches and this is the one kind of unknown right when it comes to releasing Tim Patrick it's finding this Balancing Act of having enough wanting to give opportunity to the guys that you feel like fully deserve it they might be a little bit younger balancing that with you want surround Bo Knicks with veteran weapons I think that that always serves a rookie quarterback well right that's kind of the give and take here and um I preferred us to keep all our veteran wide receivers on the team I've toyed around or thought about the idea of hey would you move on from Tim Patrick Yad Yad Yad but similar to Jarrett stinum I've always kind of come back and Zach Wilson I've always come back and said I'd like to see all these guys on the roster but I I think right now the the biggest takeaway that I have is that Shawn pton clearly feels like any veteran experience that is being lost with Tim Patrick uh isn't enough to justifying the money savings the potential draft Capital that you're getting giving him away to another team if that's the case and you know providing uh you know Val with an opportunity you know it's interesting too because it's true Tim Patrick hasn't played a regular season football game in over two years if you want to look at it from kind of a pessimistic perspective or maybe if you're not attached to him from a fan perspective you hear a guy that's coming off of a torn ACL and torn Achilles whatever order it is you're really just asking yourself how long is he G to stay healthy before the next injury occurs and uh if you are going to move off him you want to do it before the season starts while his stock is a little bit higher um but yeah I I was very surprised at this news uh I can understand the reasons behind it but like you pointed out he's a big Target that has made some big time catches for us uh throughout his career and in this pre-season has looked great what does this mean hopefully we're not going to miss him uh in the regular season hopefully the the rest of these guys that they're putting their confidence in they really do step up that that's got to be Our Hope right but it does hurt losing a veteran Target like Tim Patrick and you want to get rid of deari matys um okay well if we do that then we could technically keep Tim Patrick but I think now with with the news of him kind of departing that would open up a spot for somebody like Brandon Johnson who I think a lot of us have been pleased with his play as well I think kind of my order of wide receivers i' would put Brandon Johnson there on the bubble then maybe David Sills then Bandy then Jaylen Virgil curious what you guys think as long as B Knicks is the guy we will be an elite offense it starts at quarterback that's why I think the Raiders will not be good this year I'm there with you they doing the same thing that we've done the last nine Seasons or whatever it is I agree with you it all starts with bone Knicks it all starts with giving him a good line that's why I got nine guys on the line but if you wanted to remove somebody like throck Morton again throck Morton can play both guard positions muster can play both guard and Center maybe that's not totally needed uh to to have him do that but um yeah or like maybe per and paleski is a little bit of a luxury having both of those guys on the roster but I think both of them have earned it do you think there's a chance Malcolm kunce gets cut or are you talking about Okun let me see here Malcolm I see Malcolm Roach let me pull up the Denver Broncos roster again one second smash that like as you guys are waiting for me to pull this up here we go now tonis inkum he was another Edge player that hey if we decide to keep six Edge players I would put them on there let's see Thomas Thomas and Kum is that who you're talking about apologies Hunter Camp Moyer could be another practice squad guy as well uh to keep your eye on I thought that he made some good plays here in preseason trying to think of other guys i' would want to keep on the on the practice squad if possible but yeah I want to keep dandre Tilman I want to keep aazar I want to keep Blake Watson on the practice squad Thomas Yasmine uh he will have an automatic spot on the practice squad because every team needs to have an international player so he will be practicing with the Broncos developing all that as a tight end I again I think he's a couple years away before we can see anything from him similar to a guy like Jordan Jackson oh yeah yeah Thomas enum yeah yeah he I think it's between him or tman for that fifth Edge spot if they keep a fifth Edge uh and right now again I would go with tman just because I think he's made some more impaact plays during the games but I think all reports has been that he's been impressive out there as well V Mario saying V is literally the same player as tatrick without the recognition and now wears 881 right both 6'4 and around 210 pounds with absolute mths and yeah um one's cheaper one doesn't have the injury history those are the things that you're thinking about right to make this sort of move um yeah with absolute Ms and he he's been great great he's been great as well no worries crumble cookies I talk about the Broncos almost every day and I still get mixed up uh all the time so no worries but yeah guys this is my 53 I doubt it's going to be right you know you know I'm sure the coaching staff is thinking about uh some things a little bit differently than your man David talks Broncos is but I thought that this was a pretty fun exercise I'm was texting Mary Sports and Jeremy earlier today and uh Mark brought up the idea of yeah maybe you cut Burton so you can keep Atkins which I think is kind of interesting if you want to make sure you have a plethora of tight ends but he was also a guy that kept Brandon Johnson I I believe Over Lil Jordan Humphrey sorry for spoiling this Mark I hope I'm not spoiling your video you're putting out on this um but again why I decided to go with little Jordan Humphrey is I think that he's a better inline blocker if we need him especially only carrying three tight ends where two of those guys are a little suspect when it comes to blocking right I I said on Twitter let's talk nuggets that I would love to see Tim Patrick with the ners I know you're a Packers guy so obviously you guys always lose to the ners in the playoffs sadly we went through that years ago always losing to the Colts every single year but I just want tatri to go somewhere where he's on like a real Contender for this year that's what I want to see and it could be the Packers I mean you guys have a very impressive underrated room of wide receivers but I think on most teams there's always room for a nice affordable veteran and if Jordan love kind of needs that type of Target that would be kind of cool see him go to green bit just don't you know right now not sure how I feel about the Cowboys Texans are a little full trying to think of other contenders it can't be the Chiefs it won't be the Chiefs Niners Rams I guess they're not really a contender this year but yeah I want to see him contend get to the playoffs have his moment so uh I'm going to wrap this up guys I I will be doing some more traveling tomorrow again kind of in the process of moving but uh let me list for you the film rooms that I have right now Ravens that's a great one so film rooms that I have coming this week from this week three of preseason I have Zack Wilson I might break this up into two parts because there was so much more good than bad I know that he had some throws there at the beginning that was like but guys it was so good being able to see him reset his Fe feet when he was going to his like second third read his pocket presence just looks so much better than what I remember seeing in New York like I'm really excited to take this stuff take you guys through this stuff uh we'll look at Troy Franklin as well again we saw him get on the stat sheet and there was so much better effort level and blocking in this game I thought better consistency I think we saw improvement from him in in a lot of phases that we talked about last week in his film room Chris Abrams drain I got probably eight plays that we can take a good look at at you know he played 80% of the game I think he's oh gosh I left Chris Abrams drain off of this dude I'm an idiot oh how did I leave him off of here how did I do that yeah Levi Wallace dude you gotta go hav played all season That's it man Levi Wallace dude you gotta go you gotta go it's Chris Abrams drain man we're keeping these five and if we need to resign Levi Wallace we can do that but yeah I I don't want to keep six corners and five safeties and uh I'm we're just going to keep 10 in the secondary that's just what we're gonna do that's what I'm doing oh my gosh I can't believe I had that brain fart I you know I blame you guys what why didn't y'all call me out Miami will take Tim Patrick and yeah they can pair him with an often injured obj too that'd be kind of fun but Miami is a great place to live that that would be really fun and buffalo is in need of a wide receiver in my opinion he would be a good addition there too but uh I'm sidetracked enough we'll go through Chris Abrams drain film we'll take a look at Jonah Ellis he played a little bit as well and then Jordan Jackson I got five six plays we can take a look at from him and then a little bit of audri esime I might pair that with footage from the game
