just like my previous videos I've been going back and covering the most messy and chaotic award shows and the 20124 MTV VMAs are no exception let's hop right into the pre-show because a lot happened this year's show had an interesting air date 911 no no no no no no well you don't want to hear about 911 we're going to talk a little bit about this moment the show was originally scheduled for September 10 but needed to be moved a day later to avoid conflicts with the presidential debate which was an entire mess in itself they're eating the dogs the people that came in they're eating the cats unfortunately sweetie was not invited back to host this year's pre-show we've got more we got more from your favorite nominees more glps more Glam and definitely more music coming your way right after the break and you're not going to want to and you're not going to want to miss what we have up coming on the VMA pre-show I know that's right I'm available to do the show in 2025 just putting my sabotage tonight in order to secure the win others well you're going to see hold on hold on Nissa then reminds us how to vote for the award for best new artist after showing her bias I hope you win for best alternative video because obviously this music is way too alternative for the main show the nominees are B and Boon beautiful things bleaches tiny moves joser too sweet Imagine Dragons eyes each award tonight but best alternative hos is sweet got a majority of the votes however binon Boon's beautiful things wins you guys were wrong we then get an interview with with Katy Perry and they are not ready she says hi to Daisy watching MTV for the first time at home Nissa then announces that she won the most iconic VMA performance for raw under the Brooklyn Bridge at the 2013 VM um this is not correct the other performances nominated in this category no this was riggory congratulations you won for most iconic performance the performances nominated were Madonna Britney and Christina's 2003 performance and Lady Gaga's Paparazzi 2009 performance raw under the Brooklyn Bridge no no the Brooklyn Bridge yeah I can't the 2001 Britney snake performance was not even nominated so clearly this award is invalid we then get an interview with the host of tonight's Awards Megan the stallion in uh Bob this is not a Fu ass Bob this is a Serve and Protect Kevin casually mentions that she won the award for best trending video for mamushi you have already won trending video for mamushi how does that feel and just seeing all the like the love with the dancing casually saying what I really flopped with this one you guys I did not even make this an option in my YouTube poll YouTube only allows four options and I thought the other nominees had a better chance at winning this I was mad wrong out of the options to pick Chapel Ron's hot to go one once again and we can see how the night unfolds but I'm sensing another form of riggory taking place usually MTV always gives the host of the night and award themselves and this may have been the only category where they could have afforded making a win I'm that girl been that girl Still That Girl will forever be that girl they then give out the award for song of the summer fortnite wins song of the summer and my only question is which summer in my YouTube poll birds of a fiver won by a landslide you guys keep on voting wrong do better we get an interview with Camila Cabo with brown hair she has been rocking blonde for the past few months for her C XOXO era but as all camilizers know at the end of her music video for godspeed she returned back to herself she then gives a bunch of fans tickets to the main show we get an interview with Tate McCrae and they pretty much cut her interview short for an ad break I would be pissed ify with her because she has a song releasing the very next day and she did not get a chance to promote it so right now we are going to go ahead and keep a lock for more v action when we return they then present the award for be rock video Human by Lenny Kravitz Wiz we then get another performance by larapin this time doing this song Crazy coming out of the performance we get some technical issues they absolutely we minut from the start of the stick around and we right back Miss coming back from an adbreak we get to hear guess by Charlie XX playing while Taylor Swift is on the red carpet it is so funny to me I do not think Taylor was prepared for this lyric to be playing while she was [Applause] posing oh my God oh my God this is so we get an interview with Tyler the interviewer says very demure very Mindful and you can hear Tyler cringing under her breath we are being very Mindful and demure if we can say to ourselves with our friends Tyler then leaves deii completely stumped Houdini he and a bunch of extras come out to the stage wearing Fenty hair you know what he looks pretty good in a pixie cut this is also a perfect opportunity to promote my video on why Society hates the pixie cut and wait a damn minute I had to do a double take I thought that this guy was CGI and it was a younger version of Eminem he then does a performance of somebody save me with jelly roll Megan the stallion then comes out to the stage in A Team USA Gymnastics unitard shout out to s b Nan then tells us what VMA stands for the voluptuous Megan Awards Jordan Charles and flavor flave then come out to the stage flavor gives Jordan a golden clock after the Olympics tried to take away her middle flavor flave goes way off script and Jordan is struggling to stay on track thank you so much it's hey he guess what else too they then present the award for best collaboration the nominees are junkook featuring lot seven Drake featuring sexy red and scissor Rich Baby Daddy Jesse MF featuring jelly roll Wild Ones glorilla and Megan the stallion wannabe Taylor Swift featuring post Malone fortnite and post Malone featuring Morgan Wallen I had some help Taylor Swift and post Malone win yeah boy Taylor starts off her acceptance speech by paying respects to the victims of 9/11 and then goes on to talk about post Malone's position in bed you are so versatile post then tries to to think of stage while Diet Pepsi plays we're in the right timeline Edison Ray comes out to the stage to present a performance by Carol G she does please mind my pronunciation cantes hubiera Kido she dances with Taylor Swift and Camila Cabo Tanashi comes out to the stage to tell everyone at home to vote for the best new artist award the finalists are Chapel rone Gracie Abrams and Tyler in my YouTube poll Chapel rone won in a landslide let's see if she actually wins coming back from the commercial break Megan is in the same outfit as Britney her 2001 performance of I'm a slave for you with a live snake come get this snake I don't know this snake the snake don't know me oh my God I tried to hold it down for Britney important to note around this time Taylor Swift had disappeared out of her chair in the audience Taylor Nation then tweeted did anyone check the cleaning cart referencing how Taylor used a fake cleaning cut to transport herself around the venues going unnoticed but obviously still part of the song it then instantly transitions into a performance by Sha mindes in the most anti- slay way in 3 2 1 he performs nobody knows just like its title Nobody Knows the lyrics be because the song isn't out yet MTV was also very polite there was no Shady cameraman shots of Camila or Sabrina in the audience during this performance for those that do not know there was a bunch of discourse in the media around the dramatic love triangle between Shawn Mendes Camila Cabo and Sabrina Carpenter sha and Camila dated for several years and then broke up and then Shawn had a short and sweet fling with Sabrina Carpenter during this time sha was also catching up with Camila famously spotted together at Coachella Camila has a song on her new album called Jun Gloom that references the rekindling with Shawn Mendes while he was still seeing Sabrina referenced in lyrics such as if she's so amazing why are you on this side of town Sabrina then released her album short and sweet referen ing the I used to say espresso Orlando Bloom comes out to the stage to introduce his wife KT Perry doing a medly performance of her biggest hits all of the songs are featured in the Spotify playlist she starts off suspended above the stage singing Dark Horse she actually utilizes the suspension cables she does not just float she runs across dances flips and even looks like she's being dragged like an image around a screen Taylor Swift was loving her performance the entire time but Jack Antonoff not so much he puts in earplugs while everyone is dancing and refuses to stare at the stage this adds fuel to the fire when he shaded Katy Perry at the 2017 VMAs when he was eating a banana You could argue he was just protecting his eard drums but the timing for him to put in the earplugs is suspicious ktie then premieres her next single I'm his He's Mine featuring DOI this prompted somebody to tweet Katie sneaking in her new music into her hits like how you hide medicine in peanut butter for dogs absolutely foul they almost kiss and then cut to a shot of Orlando this cracks him up once he realizes she makes the audience sing along to California Girls and thank God the audience sings along not like her performance of part of me in [Music] [Applause] 2010 KY then puts on gigantic metallic butterfly wings and a bunch of drones disguised as butterflies flutter around the stage you can't even tell that she was afraid of the Butterflies during rehearsal [Music] but all of her haters at home put some respect on Katie's name she is a living legend and an icon of the VMAs walking down the carpet with her date Miley Cyrus at the 2008 VMAs performing raw under the Brooklyn Bridge at the 2013 VMAs her double denim look with riffraff and stoic presence during Taylor Swift's performance of shake it off at the 2014 VMAs and also hosting the 2017 VMAs keep in mind that was her last appearance at the VMAs she took a 7-year break Orlando comes back out to the stage to present Katie with the Michael Jackson video Vanguard award thank you I did that all on my first day of my period too can you believe it Taylor is perplexed by this thank you I did that all on my birday performs b s p and mamushi featuring Yuki Chiba Tyler is unsure about this performance someone on Twitter said that she could not be caught vibing because she's eyeing out a Nicki Minaj feature dummy comes out to the stage to present the award for song of the year the nominees are Jack harlo loving on me Beyonce Texas holdom Kendrick Lamar not like us Sabrina Carpenter espresso Taylor Swift featuring post Malone fortnite and Teddy swims lose control why are we nominating songs without music video at an award show about music videos Sabrina Carpenter wins in my YouTube poll kindri Lamar W this woman behind her is not missing her opportunity to serve face Well Done Mama during the air break we find out a bunch of Award winners this is so pathetic this is an award show you give out Awards why are you making everybody vote online if you're not even going to showcase the awards properly Taylor Swift wins for artist of the year and best pop in my YouTube polls Sabrina Carpenter won for both of these Awards best R&B video went to snooze by czm my YouTube poll was correct fortnite by Taylor Swift also won for best editing and best Direction Houdini by Eminem won for best hip-hop and for best special effects in my poll making the stallion boa won for best hip-hop however boa won for best art Direction This choreography went to Houdini by Doula Pete this cinematography went to We Can't be friends the YouTube poll got that one correct too and finally the video for good award went to Billy ey's what was I made for this song is over 1 year old it was even nominated for song of the summer at last year's Awards it feels like MTV was just trying to give Billy an easy win so that she would show up to the show and it didn't work but still my poll was correct Carson Dy then comes out to the stage to present the award for beer K-pop video the nominees are stray kids la la la la John Cook featuring lot 7 Lisa Rockstar new jeans super shy NCT dream smoothie and tomorrow by still has her blonde hair brunette Camila then pauses the video and starts performing godspeed her latest single and probably my favorite Camila song thus far this was almost as good as the performance that she gave Harry Daniels just a couple days ago far away far away the song is about genuinely parting ways after a breakup which is such a Greatful Circle moment it started off with sha singing about Camila Sabrina singing about Shawn and Camila and then Camila is singing about leaving her the [ __ ] alone her backup dancers are wearing ski masks it's giving Spring Breakers the Miami aesthetic of her C EXO EXO era was absolutely fantastic Camila then does exactly what I do when my videos get flaged for copyright Megan then wraps her rendition of We Will Rock dressed up in the town red Taylor Swift featuring post Malone fortnite Eminem Houdini czor snooze and Ariana Grande we can't be friends wait for your love Megan then accidentally opens the Winner's card upside down oh is upside down Ty in my YouTube poll Ariana Grand days we can't be friends once so you guys were wrong again I guess now it makes sense why Ariana did not show up she then does what we are all expecting she announces reputation Taylor's version coming out September 13th her favorite number and also the 15th anniversary of Kanye interrupting her at the 2019 VMAs the only problem with this is I'm lying she did an announcing anything why was she backstage the entire show why did Taylor Nation tweet this I'm confusion anyway everybody congratulates Taylor including Burger King Burger King congratulates Taylor Swift and post Malone you can see Megan on the side swapping the winnner card for a microphone we then have the most anticlimactic ending to the show it's just eerily silent and Megan is just vibing she slowly makes her way to vienta stage and then does a little Dany dance to her song thank you to all our fans and that is the end of a 2024 Video Music Awards if we can even call it an award show in conclusion although Taylor Swift was the big winner of the night you guys hated Taylor Swift this year she did not win a single one of my polls a quick reminder that I have a
