here at the booth as always by David and Jesse Palmer guys let's te this one [Applause] [Music] [Applause] up the Tar Heels will kick it away [Music] [Applause] first fielded In The End Zone it's Johnson not nearly as much as he' hoped when he brought out at the end zone he'll be stopped at the 15 here's this offense with a fresh set of downs keeping it on the ground with the running back works his way ahead for three they'll spot it at the 18 you know when you get off to a tough start in conference play like these guys have sometimes the temptation just to try to get through it play off the string how can they turn it around well they just need to put a game together in all three phases for four quarters and they haven't been able to do that yet this year especially David when they've gotten an ACC play yeah and they've struggled um it's not the start they wanted but what are coaches talking about like when you get some adversity how are you going to respond and how do we finish the second half of the season so we can build on it for the future it's it's not pretty it's not fun uh but let's finish strong throughout this conference play just a simple power play again not sexy run the ball up the middle physicality offensive line gets to assert themselves run block what they love to do this pays dividends down the road in the fourth quarter opening drive of the game and they're facing third and [Applause] one to the air it's Jefferson and the pressure gets there and down he goes at the 18 and that is how you silence this rockus crowd defensively on the road first drive of the game setting the tone getting a huge sack on third down and they'll get the punt out of there and it'll be marked down just outside the opponent's 45 offense getting set for first [Applause] down from the gun the give looking for room at the 35 he's got room nothing but green grass down the middle and the defense couldn't Coral him and he took it all the way Dodge down UNC number 28 and I am a great play caller when I can hand it to guys like that and he can go that far to the house create big plays showed you a little bit of vision showed you a little bit of burners when he kicked it in gear and got the long touchdown [Applause] run lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive Feld it in the end zone it's Johnson that gamble did not pay off as they bring him down at the 12 yd line and the UCF offense back on the field ready to go to work boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing really clicked no rhythm got off the field really really quickly they need to put something together here yeah David bad execution on that last drive so they got to take a collective breath and start playing like a unit on this drive simple pitch simple catch easy little drag route right over the field it's a nice timing route you can run it versus man or you can run it versus Zone and have a lot of success still some work to do after that last completion it's second down [Applause] [Music] on the option you'll pitch it perfectly timed on that pitch and they pick up the first down on the play I love when players understand situations and they understand where the first down marker is and they understand where I got to get to a lot of people you'll see run north south and try to bounce out wide and make big plays sometimes it's not about making big plays sometimes it's about getting that first down to make sure I get an extra set of downs instead of trying to make those big touchdowns know I think a big part of this isn't necessarily scoring a touchdown on that plate but you're just trying to get your offensive line in the rhythm of the game let those Big Fellas get lathered up to the air it's Jefferson it's complete to the right and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play the quick passing game does several things one it doesn't let the pass rush get to you those great defensive linemen the ball's coming out so fast they can't get there and then what else it gets me ahead of the sticks I don't have to worry about getting in Long yardage in predictable situations they'll try to pick it up on the ground and he just needed a few inches and the defense was Surly and nasty into no Sur the knights will try to pin them back with the punt this will be the second time they've had to kick it away wouldn't call it a shank but I don't think he'll include it on his greatest [Applause] hits the North Carolina offense returns to the field then that last drive if you want to call it that was efficient one big run for a score David see if they can do it again yeah and I find it hard pressed they're not going to give just flying through the air like a superhero to make the grab man I I love those guys that are willing to put their body on the line and he does it right here man just lays out that Ball's coming in you can see it from several yards out making that play laying out keeping the football from touching the turf great concentration great effort by the receiver get it out on the screen and that one looked great on the grease board but when they blow it up like that the defense is going to win every time the defense sniff that screen out perfectly all the D lineman they were reading the body language of the offensive line they knew something was up and when the screen pass got thrown they were right there to make the T makes a grab and he's dragged down and that's what I love about this offense you're not going to get all of your big chunk plays in the passing game by throwing a deep down field you can kind of Dink and dunk and on that RPO play they had it dialed up and set up to go to that player in the right flag nice job back through the air one more time oh he's going to take a shot at the DB snags it and the defense has to be kicking themselves for allowing a first down there you're just maybe going to give them a few yards and let them set up for a field goal instead you let them move the chains and now they're knocking on your door first and goal he'll pull it on the read and he's stuffed by that big defensive tackle up front really nice job by the defense shutting down all the options don't let him get into his reading phase go get him right now play sound more importantly tackle him and get him on the ground fre snap motion quarterback trying to get a read going for six he's got it in the end [Applause] zone heels Carolina number CCH theend the coach still thinks he was right the officials say he was not the challenge is denied and the timeout is gone and and the extra point pushes the lead to 14 and for a quick update let's go to Kevin Conor's in the studio fellas it's a final now in one of the more intriguing games of the week that notable top 25 clatch Kansas had an impressive showing at home today and I know the fans there in Lawrence are ready for Hoops but pay attention to what's happening on the grd iron to people really unexpected outcome in this ranked on ranked matchup the type of lost guys that'll get the attention of even a good football team and Kevin Conor is keeping an eye on everything all over the country sounds like they had a good one there UCF has it once again what do you think about that to say this has been a slow start is a bit of an understatement and they really need to get it going here Jesse that's right the opponent they're firing on all cylinders right out of the gate offensively for this unit they've been slow and struggling they need an explosive play to wake themselves up yeah and it's just the first quarter so it's not the end of the world you've seen slow starts but you got to continue to pick and pick and pick until you find that play or or that scheme that you can use against this defense love the execution there on the screen the running back shows pass protect pass protect last second turns around so he's able to get the ball the D lineman have already run past him now he can turn up field for a big Gainer looking to go up top on first down he tosses one high and deep down the left side and the ball is caught he's inside the 35 you see that's what's so scary about this offense they've got guys in the perimeter that can change the game in one single play and you saw it right there too much speed on the perimeter to create that explosive Play the knights have it with a first and 10 used the play fake now to throw unloads to the wide out got him downfield and the catch it right into the end zone touchdown UCF and what did I start for this offense the throw game getting working getting the touchdown pass this quarterback getting a little bit of confidence this passing game getting in a rhythm nice start for this offense and after the extra point they've cut the lead in half down 14-7 about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown he'll call for the fair catch here North Carolina has it back in the tarel so pleased to send the offense back out Jesse a very productive Drive last time wound up with a touchdown yeah mixing and matching play calling really well nice balance on that last one Dave we'll see what think snags it down the right side nothing but green ahead and he ran away from the defense to take it in touchdown North Carolina really nice job working the route getting himself open he was able to locate the football snag it out of the air and this guy now has five receiving touchdowns on the year and the extra point puts him on top 21 to7 that kind of Drive will boost your confidence one hit the big pass but a touchdown on the board fair catch called for and me e it's on the now the UCF offense ready to go back to work the last time they had it they took it down the field for a touchdown they can build some confidence that they can go backto back scoring drives here yeah and remember it's not uncommon for offenses to find themselves as the game goes on they had some things not go their way early but they found something last Drive David let's see if they can build on that yeah you you you just pick and pick and pick and until you find that place where you're like okay this is an advantage I have they clearly found that dude they score here we're in for a ball game that's the end of the first quarter Carolina UC back at it to open the quarter with this first down play fast motion from the offense looking downfield it's Jefferson he fires to the left side and DB making a huge qu knocking it away down field great play by the defensive back showing you his variety of skills his ability to turn the hips he's speed running down field turning his head to locate the football and then swatting it away you just can't do it better try to get the edge with a quick touch pass continuing to turn and move it forward and they're closing in on Midfield it's down at the 48 and these little touch passes man they're just the easiest completions ever for quarterbacks Palmer I bet you would have loved being able to just Flip It Forward that counts as to your completion percentage which is good and then it's all run after the catch so pretty easy for a QB you wouldn't have been the only All-American in this booth game if I were allowed to have Push passes when I was playing quarterback I'll tell you that it is so hard to defend it's so hard to fires the pass intercept it and he's wrapped up after a solid return on the pick a lot of quarterbacks have so much confidence that they can f the ball Windows how about the defensive player right here making an unbelievable interception forcing the turnover big play Big momentum swing and he'll pick up one it brings up second and nine guys they're really starting to find a rhythm in conference play now they'll try to keep it going through the rest of this ACC slate I think it's really important because they're building confidence early in the season there were a lot of expectations on this team to play well and they've been doing that obviously David they've got bigger challenges hit him ins by the 20 still going and he was loose and in the open field and on his way a tremendous pickup on that one they've got him wobbling after that big play now to pay it off on First and 10 from inside the 15 they'll run it from the gun oh doses his way through he almost punched it in for six they'll get him down at the one yd line first down physicality wins football game is being able to run the football and create balance and and right here just chws up another first down gives you another chance to maybe continue to run the football and I feel like this guy too is just an explosive play waiting to happen his vision his quickness and he's got a burst if you give this guy just in crease he's going to hit it and right now he's doing some damage on this defense after getting knocked back it's second and goal from the four firing to the right complete and he'll take this into the end zone but hang on just a second flag down let's see what this is about can the defense stop them again on second and goal looking downfield it's Harold takes a hit as he fires touchdown UNC and they made it to the house where they found that six points waiting on him these guys are really hitting their stride in week four as they push out that lead and the extra point is true and the lead balloons to 21 about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown 28 UCF he'll bring bring it out it's Johnson he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the [Music] 18 the UCF offense back on the field ready to go to work they're down by 21 points but you got a touchdown here and you do at least apply a little game pressure Jesse it's true and the ball is picked off he'll try to take it back he is finally out of bounds but he was smelling that End Zone on that return tell you what when you come out with your own End Zone you know the shadow of your own inzone a lot of bad things can happen you want to got to get a few first downs get some space so if you punt after that point you can pin them a little bit deep this is the exact opposite of what happened now you set them up in beautiful scoring field position already really bad play by the offense up going to work on second down in the red zone is still still some ground to cover to pick up that first down give to the back he's brought down but there's a flag on the play let's see if it stands so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty and here comes the offense on second down he's looking to throw Hogs it down field and it's picked off at the goal line that's one way to make a stop and they'll close in on him after a good return on the interception timing has to be so good we're throwing it his own defense over the middle of the field the ball's got to come out specifically on time cuz these windows close really quickly ball there thrown a little bit late as a result it's an INT quick pass on the jet motion finds just enough daylight to work his way up to the 19 yd line well and on these little push passes timing is so important you're trying to snap it right as he's getting a full head of steam when he gets the ball he's hitting the outside and David it puts the defense in such a difficult spot you immediately have to be rotating when you see that motion so everybody's got to communicate and kind of bump over that's why offenses love to run it just it makes the defense communicate and see if you can just get them out of a [Applause] spot got it with the first down they'll put it in play from the [Applause] 332 going to run it it's Harvey he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense well with the weapons this offense has you knew it was just a matter of time in the Run game before someone was going to break a long one they just been running into a wall they just couldn't seem to find their creases and get enough movement up front but they finally got it there picking up the first let's see what happens next and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pickup right away after picking up a first down they go right back to their playmaker at running back and I love the push they got up front getting a hat on a hat opening a huge hole and you become so hard to defend when you can run the football successfully on first down you're starting like that now what opens up play action now you're making me play pass and run this offense if they can create that run physicality now it opens up everything else wide receiver shows motion touch pass on the Jet Sweep maybe a three yd pickup there third and long coming up 39 [Applause] baby they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here dropping back it's Jefferson and he was hit just as he was releasing the pass and it falls to the ground incomplete got to give the defense credit on that play taking everything away forcing the incompletion now it's decision time fourth and short in your in field goal range what do you do here oh he missed it no good couldn't find the range on the field goal couldn't cut into the deficit and they are still down by 21 the North Carolina offense returns to the field boy they hope this next Drive is more productive after throwing a pick last time Jesse Yeah and the coaches did a good job on the sideline there just talking to the Young quarterback and making sure he's able to turn the page calm him down to go out and refocus this drive yeah and some people do that better than others but you got to show some trust in him maybe get the ground game going and help around him a little bit with this system first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two-minute warning as we reach the two-minute warning they'll need to try to get a stop to keep this thing from getting out of hand see if they can turn this drive into points they've got it first and 10 at the 50 getting some heat and he just threw that one away safe move didn't see anything Live to play another play Here Comes the offense on second down down misfired on the last play they'll go back to the air and there was nowhere to go for this quarterback and down he goes that is exactly what this defense need they have not had a great first half given up a bunch of touchdowns but this might get them started this might get the energy going and maybe rattle the quarterback a little bit with that sack wide out in motion on Third and long he's going to have to turn one loose down field and how about that DB getting a hand in there and forcing the incomplete pass oh man the quarterback almost just threw his second interception on his many drives he's trying to fit that football in there it gets tipped up in the air he's lucky that wasn't picked off [Applause] fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way running it back it's and the ball is loose on the return touchdown carar heel and they'll put that scoreboard operator to work and put six on the board getting set for the point after and with the extra point they push the lead out a little further and let's check in with Kevin Conor's in the studio Kevin very different emotions inside the locker rooms of these teams who did battle today Michigan came through with a lunch paale hard hat performance and the end result is an eye openening Road Victory and it's not so much that they won it's more how they wanton and the fact this wasn't ever really in question it's one game you don't want to react too much either way but I think both teams will leave this one with some things to work on moving forward how about that sounds as if they had a good ball game there Kevin thanks for the update what you get PA wants to throw on first down he uncorks a bullet to the right wide open he makes the catch flips the field in an instant and he has it down to the 25 yd line the knights are in the hurry up [Applause] he's looking to throw it and it's incomplete if you're going to take a hit like that you might as well hang on to the ball got to give the defense a lot of credit man cuz they've come into this hostile environment they've quieted the crowd down with some of the plays they're making they've got a nice lead right here and pressure is on the way and the pressure has arrived and down he goes at the 30 and the defense has given up some plays some passing yards on this drive you want to stop stop that nice job rushing the quarterback making him feel a little bit of pressure and getting him on the ground and now getting him behind the sticks on Third and long hoping to throw beyond the sticks scrambling away on the Run fires down field it's caught a timeout is called as this offense tries to find a way to get more points on the board before the half the knights have it with a first and 10 he wants to throw and that incomplete pass paused by the big hit on first down second down coming you know it's difficult for QV sometimes when you're throwing to your running backs because they're not receivers you really got to be perfect with the ball placement you got to make that a catchable throw a little bit too tough for the RB on that one on second down he'll try to make the connection and the pass is incomplete jar Loose by the hit this offense just has to find a way to find a rhythm here they're playing at home and they want this crowd to stay involved and be an asset in the game but they need to start making plays they can't keep throwing incompletions this early now they missed a field goal on the last drive but you need to get points here so they need to pick up some yardage to at least get in range for their kicker on Third and long he's going to have to throw for it he couldn't find anywhere to go and now it's fourth down I don't know about the play call there guys third down they're throwing it behind the line of scrimmage seeing if this guy can do something once he has it in his hands but a better job of pursuit and tackling defensively Now setting up fourth just enough time to get off one more snap quarterback making adjustments with his receivers on fourth down trying to find his man lets it Fly pass is incomplete and half comes to a close on that play first half in the books time now to join Kevin Connor in our halftime update the knights will will kick it off to start the second [Applause] half no return coming he'll call for the fair [Music] [Applause] catch North Carolina has it back in the tarel so pleased to send the offense back out going to the run to start this second half tackle is made at the 28 after a pick up of three and it's just simple simple first down run showing your physicality setting your offense up in a good spot got three on first down it's second and [Applause] seven and the pass is incomplete but there is a flag down on the play Let's see what that's about they'll decline the penalty here and let the result of that play Stand let's see what call they have on Third and long from the 28th to the air it's Harold coming after him quarterback floating away from pressure he'll fire to his right and this is dropped incomplete pass he had a huge gain in his fingers and he couldn't hold on and the tarel send out the punt unit this will be the second time they've had to kick it away [Applause] really good job by the coverage team to make the Stop and that's where they'll put it in play they'll run this play from the pistol trying to start the drive with a pass gets it out fast and he's able to shed one tackle and pick up pretty good yardage well it's a nice job by the defender they're closing the Gap with the wide receiver they're going to complete the hitch pass but he's able to run right up on him get him to the ground for a minimal game on second down wants to throw got the Quick Pass finally run out of bounds but he has his offense rolling with a first down the defense has their hands full trying to stop this guy in the slot they're going to have to figure something out to bracket him try and get two bodies around and maybe get some safety help as well cuz right now they do not have the answer for this guy and he was hit just as he released it and it falls to the turf that's another example of just really good football this is why they built the lead here in the second half nice job pressuring the quarterback making him feel uncomfortable coming into somebody else's building and keeping it really really quiet he had all kinds of company as soon as he got and he had to fight his way back just to get to the line of scrimmage this defense has got some monsters up front individual athleticism you see guys winning their one-on ones they're getting pushed they're swimming the offensive lineman and then converging on the running back third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off to throw it's Jefferson fires into traffic it's picked off God room on the return he's at the fo 40 he's at the 20 and it's going to be a pick six touchdown North Carolina car what a play by this defense with the pick six and how about the defender exactly what you're supposed to breaks on the football makes the interception everybody on defense we turn to offense go lay some blocks so my guy can get it and take it back to the house they'll kick it off and send that defense right back out there to try to score again after the Pick Six coming out with it it's Johnson not nearly as much as he'd hoped when he brought it out of the end zone he'll be stopped at the [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] 15 UCF has it once again what do you think about that this possession will be a test after squandering that long drive throwing a pick six Jesse you're right reys well I think this is really dependent too on the leaders in this huddle right now to step up and help this offense get back on Pace here on this drive yeah and this defense is froing at the M they're excited they're jacked up they just made a big play they got all the momentum so they're ready to [Applause] hunt they'll throw it on first down pulls it in it's Harvey still running at the 40 and he gets it to the 45 yd line and that'll be a first down this guy's gotten off to a good statistical start guys with that last completion he's already now over a th passing yards on the season and man you know he's looking for more off the play fake on first down to throw got his man downfield and they got the defense on that one and they get it to the 29 yd line man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out the knights have it with a first and 10 looking to move it through the air and he got smack just as he released the pass it's incomplete there's nothing better than being a defensive lineman and a defense period that pressure the quarterback that gets hits on them that make him feel uncomfortable especially when you come into their building and you get everybody really really quiet that's a great feeling they keep attacking through the air and the incomplete pass taking a shot on second down and they'll be left with a third down well the offense is in that Fringe area this is a place where a lot of coordinators like to take shots they tried one there just weren't able to come up right they were really starting to put a drive together but after a couple of incompletions now they need a big play on Third and 10 looking down the middle it's complete and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pickup and with that one he's now over three bills for the game and there's two reasons why reys he's made good decisions and he's been accurate throwing the football all game long they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one I got to be honest I am shocked at just how well the defense has played in this game especially stopping the Run we've talked about statistically how they've struggled this season but they have put the clamps down in this one and they're just playing with a ton of of intensity it's really easy to say the word RPO and say I'm going to run them but you got to make those decisions and you got to make them fast you can't get confused by all the craziness that's going on by all the guys moving around or talking nice job by the quarterback staying in the moment seeing it throwing the slant making sure he makes the right decision oh you know that's one as a quarterback youve thrown the completion and you're like dude can you just turn around and make one guy Miss and go get the first or can you just stretch out and get the first down you need your guys to have a little bit more awareness into the house touchdown Knights and that's why this running back is so dangerous it's not just handing him off the football but he's a weapon in the passing game you see his his ability to catch it turn up field make people miss and find the end zone and he tacked on the extra point so a drive there of 85 yds it was capped off by a one yd touchdown pass 42 UCF 14 not going to risk a return here he'll make the fair catch the North Carolina offense returns to the field they'll have another opportunity to extend this lead after punting last time David and it's important to put that punt behind you it's it's over let it go get back to what you were doing that built this lead yeah and defense obviously they won a few Downs uh that last drive so we got to put them on their heels here maybe mix up a few Personnel groupings and try to show them some pictures they haven't seen yet and he'll make the grab along the sideline but he's not able to get to the first down marker he goes out of bounds but there is a flag on the field let's see what this one's about second down coming up linebackers trying to create some [Applause] confusion these Corners going to give these receivers for some space not able to hook up there incomplete thir now facing a third and long2 looking downfield and he needs a bunch he'll take the Deep shot holds it in on the left and the explosive play and they're on the move all the way to the 44 they used the chunk play across Midfield and they've got it first and 10 just outside the 40 making sure they have good balance keeping it on the ground what a Nifty run there to pick up the first down first down you know you always want to establish the running game how about this off offense nothing fancy run the football be physical get a big game the tar are marching down the field to the ground he's got it again going to be a gain of about three down to the 21 small gain I know but again the defense knows he's going to run the football he's willing to run the football not just drop back and pass make him on to the Run game you got to do a lot of this [Applause] quick strike complete and the defense had that one well covered just a short game there great effort by the defense here offense trying to go wide receiver screen how about the speed on defense round the football and the tar helds are threatening in the Red Zone linebacker shuffling around trying to keep the quarterback from getting a read [Applause] headed to the end zone touchdown UNC and the route is on number this defense is going to have to do a better job being physical that's two rushing touchdowns they've now allowed they have got to be better close to the line of scrimmage and that kick was perfectly down the middle they marched 79 yds on the drive and it was capped off with an impressive 18yd touchdown run he'll bring it out it's Johnson I imagine he's going to get an earful on the sideline after bringing it out of the end zone and being knocked down at the [Music] 11 now the UCF offense ready to go back to work there's certainly still a hill to climb but they've got to make sure these drives pay off got a touchdown last time can they back it up here well and it's amazing in a football game how sometimes they'll surprise you with what you do dude once you get settled and you realize what's going on now I'm comfortable with it Jesse this offense looked comfortable on this last Drive they sure did it looked like they started to find some momentum so now it's on this defense to stop that all right you're a little bit upset based on what just happened the previous drive you've got to Bow up again and go back to what was working earlier in this game got his man all by himself they'll move the chains after he gets it to the 43 yd line well how about the offense setting that play up we've seen earlier in the game game a couple shorter throws they're just trying to suck those safeties closer to the line of scrimmage anticipating that they would get an opportunity to take a shot they called the perfect play at the perfect time right there defense coming through and knocking him down for a loss and that'll be the end of the third period Carina 49 we'll get this quarter going with a second down play looking for a man it's Jefferson It's On Target and complete good pick up there they'll move the change and their set up at the 41 the knights in the hurry up nice job by the running back there on that angle route against Zone coverage he wasn't in a hurry he was able to sort of find the soft spot in the defense and it's caught inside the 15 and chunk plays are the name of the game and they get one here before the defense finally makes the stop the knights will have it first and 10 he's going to pass and they get to the quarterback and knock him down back at the 16 and I tell you what this defense they've heard all about how great this quarterback is they came in today with a mission with a purpose they've been flying around harassing him and making life so hard on this offense looking to pass on second down now caught in the back field it's Harvey and just a short safe pass play they pick up a Fe and listen I I know that wasn't a huge gain it was positive but I like doing more of that in today's college football I'm just going to try to give my Playmakers a chance to do damage in space away from all the big boys inside boy they'd love to pick up this conversion and go to work with a first in goal they're bringing heat fires a b and now it's picked off and and he's brought down and this defense gets the ball back forito and as a defensive lineman late in the game man when you know it's passed you're pinning your ears back trying to get to the quarterback and DBS are trying to do this pad them stats get the int nice job by this D they finally get him on the ground but the big running play moves to change for the first down and the defense down in this game they just can't do anything to stop this offense at this point David right now they know they're going to be trying to run the football and try and Ice the game but there's nothing at this point it seems they can do yeah and it's frustrating I got to sell out man I I got to bring his many guys to the line of scrimmage as I can I got to find a way to get this ball back to my offense the the clock is not my friend and then running the football is only going to run this thing out quicker I got to find a way to make something happen strip the football do something this offensive line better figure out a plan for this D tackle he is tough to block with one guy you might want to start double teaming him he's going to be a problem moving forward you saw all of his ability on that last play looking for a man it's Harold they're setting up the screen they finally get him stopped but what a good job by that front wall to set up the screen and create some lanes for their running back this offense will snap it from the 42 on First and 10 power football with the run and a nyd gain on first down leaves him with second and short yeah and that's a great job by this offense and I tell you what fourth quarter you have the lead that's exactly what you want to do lean on these guys run the football eat that clock after the nyd pickup on first down here's second and [Applause] one the give to the back he's knocked down in the back field he will lose a couple it's going to be tough sledding for the offense here they're trying to ice this game by running the football and bleeding the clock they've got a pretty good lead here late in the game but the defense knows the run's coming right so they're going to be loading the line of scrimmage getting stops like what they just did be interesting to see what the offense does on this next one a third down try for the offense they'll try to run for it he'll be stopped short pick up one but they're facing fourth and [Applause] one the tarel will putt this one away they'll look to pin him deep never had a chance what cover to get down there and knock him down inside the 10 the UCF offense back on the field ready to go to work well they had that last Drive moving a little bit David but then the mistake J and that is his fifth interception a nightmare he is not waking up from touchdown tarel what a great play by the defense and paying it off with the interception they give themselves a little more cushion as they try to reel off their fourth straight win dude this you didn't think it could any worse right you thought this game's over as it is anyways offense still throwing the football still trying to make plays and the defense just continues to pour it on gets the pick makes its way all the way to the end zone he'll bring it out it's Johnson he was looking for some running room but not much to be found as he stopped at the [Music] 18 UCF has it once again what do you think about that the big thing now don't get rattled by that last pick six David N it was a big mistake uh obviously the defense took advantage of but you got to put it behind you Jesse I'm sure you know a thing or two about throwing a pick six and and how to rebound I believe I've only thrown one in my life but yes I do because of that singular instance I'll say this you can't let that play Beat you twice you got to go out not try to get it all back here in one play Just execute the offense fires to the wide out and he's thrown another interception touchdown North Carolina the defense put six on the board with a big time interception return that one ought to give them firm control with this game and they have gotten things going here about to move to four and one the DB saw it he thought don't drop it don't drop it then thought don't get caught don't get caught and he didn't the pick six hey these guys can play offense too now look at this I showed you I can be a wide receiver coach might split him out at wide receiver next week after making that big play but defense great job making the interception and you're right doing something with it don't just slide down don't be content take that thing all the way back [Applause] brother and to the wrong team Jesse well that's an unfortunate part of the game brings it in down the left side and the tackle was made but not before that completion gets him 30 plus let's go we got some life we we made a big play something to build off of we need a lot of points and we need them quickly time's running out we're trailing big in this ball game back to throw it's Jefferson quickly out to the tight end brought down at the 25 yd line give him 15 yards on the pickup and this offense is threatening and thank goodness for those new age throwing techniques that takes wear and tear off your arm because it ought to be tired by now over 450 this guy can throw from all the different arm slots and arm angles he wants Reese but the end result is always the same complet itions and touchdowns this dude's a machine this senior quarterback moving the chains and picking up a first down for his team I just love this guy's instincts right when things aren't open right away he never panics he just understands the situation where he is on the field and he's so confident in his own natural ability that he has the ability to run go get the first down keep this drive roll the knights with the first and 10 Yankee blue Yankee blue we using his legs it's Harvey you'll take four yards on first down every time second and six and and I think this offense is all but surrendered right like they're they're down so much they need to be throwing the football they want to score a bunch of points to get back in this game but they got to find something moving forward man this was a rough day this was not a great offensive performance they got to bounce back the next opportunity the next moment because today it was not a good [Applause] day they're working that left side and that defense is there to guide him out of bounds after a short game and this game is obviously out of hand but I think the fans would argue to at this point like all right well let's not throw check Downs right let's throw some deep balls and and he'll take it in for the touchdown it won't have much impact on the outcome of the game but it is a fabulous party the consolation prize and this has been a rough day for this offense and finally some good things to happen build some momentum maybe for the future you know that's the way the coaches spin it when you're getting beat up and you're getting destroyed like listen let's find something for the future let's keep fighting let's keep working this team's done that put some points on the board so it's not all bad from inside his own 15 looking for room ni he's just you're looking for when you have the better team go out and show it don't fool around with them go out and play to a standard of Excellence just dominant you know you're going to take care of business you know you're going to win it's it's like how many how many can I win by and I like that you keep your foot on the gas and just continue to pile it on it's their job to stop you let them do their job you just keep going on it's not about the x's and the O's it's the jimmies and the Joe's this is why recruiting is so important in college football they just had better players more physical they
