cornell welcome week: day 2

hey guys first morning at Corell good morning guys I just woke up it's like 8:20 yeah uh or 8:15 I'll show you our bathroom so that you know what the bathrooms look like at bar clint. we've got two sinks one bathroom with a stall and a shower with hooks included hey vlog it's maked up time oh I have one of these um would recommend makes your life easier five six hi guys I'm going to do Uno makeup because I'm a clean girl no we're we're cutting that out I'm not cutting that out we are cutting that out I don't want them to think I'm a freak okay bye [Music] Vlog okay so we just got breakfast today we have potatoes scrambled eggs and bacon and then other things too they have other things they have like mixed berries oatmeal um they always had yogurt yogurt yeah they have like the whole Fruit Stand all the time they always have the fruit I don't know if the other dining Halls have this but if you're at Morrison try the Orange passion fruit guava juice that one's really good okay guys uh breakfast over headed to um man library that one for the new student orientation also the sun is out so everything is out and it's so beautiful outside I love it the views are honestly amazing that's one of my favorite Parts about being on campus as a two-day student who hasn't started classes yet yeah it's [Music] beautiful waterfall oh my God guys it's pretty but the the slope is not not it yeah walking uphill the uphill is is brutal not having a very good time right now show them the the colorful thing yes let's wait till we get in front of it yeah it's a little bit of a of a library so now we're going to check out the gyms and by gyms I mean two gyms cuz only two of them only two are open so we are going to the teagle hall right that one right now the teagle gym and then after we're going to check out Helen Newman which is on the way back to our dorm Barbara clck and do some editing for for you guys for day for day one Vlog for day one to show you guys that we care this is cows very beautiful place lots of trees makes me excited for like fall weather C is chilly but just wait until she walks a little bit longer and then realizes that it's so warm guys look how many plants are on campus such Greenery really helps with the depression no what doesn't exist place where smile more it's a myth if you smile we take mental health very seriously and I feel like that nature does help oh the good thing about Cornell though we do have our own Police Department right so and blue light system so very safe on campus um hopefully oh my mom is there oh that's your mom oh wait that's let's be c m together hi guys me and my mom guys I love my mom but yeah um you want me to hold this is so pretty that way oh okayy guys we're at T please do not take photos or videos oh uh we'll be back we just check we just checked out both uh both the downstairs one and the upstairs one the rooms by themselves are kind of like small individually but if you put them together and if you like combine the machine in like both of the rooms it's like it's probably like everything you made I think the upstairs one honestly has more than enough for like or around enough for hitting upper body like for my routine they have like hella ellipticals and um trials for those cardio freaks out there I quickly hit a bench warm up the PE building in like 2 weeks we'll have our first PE classes and cuz our PE classes start one week after our normal classes and I don't know why but it's does if you need anything if there's anything that I can do just let me know like if there's if there's a specific way me if there's a specific way that you like to be supported as a good roommate right guys support your roommates support your roommates they're going through similar things as you probably everyone's everyone's probably going far from home and going to be missing their family so support each other don't get mean take some weight off the other person's chest also I recommend to those watching as you're figuring out what your courses are since Cornell allows you to like do free- enrollment when you're doing your scheduling like go on Google Maps look at where your classes are going to be and plan out like where everything is give yourself time for lunch every day um and like don't overburden yourself I'm pretty sure Cornell has like a for engineering they have a limit of 21 credits um per semester as long as you're not under 12 cuz if you're under 12 then you're just considered a part-time student oh also guys tip for pre-enrollment when I pre-enrolled I got all of the classes that I wanted and that's like kind of that's really yeah not everyone does that I pulled up the clock so that the moment it turned uh 12:00 p.m. I clicked The Next Step button and you guys want to make sure you're place with really fast Wi-Fi and you only want to click the button once cuz I've had some friends who like just like kept on spamming it and that did not help so you want to click it once and then you want to make sure all your classes are enrolled and then just click finish and rolling so just like have patience you know it took like few seconds for it to load for me but I ended up getting all the classes that I wanted so just just wait for that I ended up not getting all the the classes I wanted so I got four classes that I wanted and then I would say like definitely have backups they say to have backups for your writing seminars because everyone's taking a writing seminar like it's required you have to take two writing seminars so take where are we so you're going to need to take a writing seminar have a lot of backups I had like two backups and that was not enough because all of them filled up also there's like a Cornel um rap my professor app like there's a rape my professor and then there's a specific Cornell one that's a similar thing but more reliable and I'll put the we'll put the name in like here or here or whatever oh also um if you want to have a course but you you know there no more spots um another app for people is course grab you put in the class that you want and the time slot that you want and then it'll notify you when the class opens again so then you could add that to your course list right I think I know that girl I've heard from I've seen that girl on Instagram I've heard from a lot of other classrooms that a lot of the classes are like flexible like if you really need to be in a class it's like like a core like requirement class um they do let you add and it's it's like a lecture they do let you add chairs so just talk to your advisor yeah and you can work something out wait we're we're supposed to go that [Music] way also I know a lot of people say that if you don't get the course you want or if there's a specific course that you really want and it fills up you can email the professor and they'll help you like be on the weight list and then get off the weight list I also know that there's a special different form that you have to fill if you want to be on the weight list so you know don't count on just checking off the box and the pre enroll thing that says to put you on the wait list if it's not full um like you have to fill out that form which is really annoying but yeah hi hi Vlog uh we just finished uh lunch at Morrison again um and now we're going to the new engineering students resource for at uh Duffield hall or HM [Music] gold pinch Vlog got to dfield Hall oh an right across the street over there um from Morse to dfield it's pretty straight shot you know um stra I think you could take the teat we're going to go search for du hm hi Vlog hi we just finished the uh Welcome Center thing initial initial thoughts thoughts I thought it was really cool like they had so much information there and everyone is super nice everyone is super duper sweet there's a lot of free stuff and oh I the and then there was like a special room for all the project teams and I feel like I learned a lot that I didn't know otherwise for example combat robotics it's not just robot it's not just robotics they do like CLA machines and other it's pretty cool and then originally uh CU like Cornell University air wasn't even on my list but after talking to the repres the student Representatives who are super nice by the way um I think I'm going to go to the intereste huh we we have a ride back for for our dorm and then when we get there we're going to help our our pod rates move some stuff around what kind do you want uh ice cream ice cream yes the the the where is it the dairy shop I think Corel has has its own cows yeah so they get them yeah so it's supposed to be really good um we'll give a food review hey Vlog we made it to the Dairy Bar and look how cute it has a giant milk Glass Carton thing outside hi Vlog we got ice cream I got Ezra's morning cup which is coffee and I got caramel three times which is not caramel I'm joking no is did just three Chimes do you want to be in the wait this is so good hi I'm sharing this Cofe review rating out of 10 11 out of 10 11 out of 10 this is really good it's really creamy though I it's really creamy n out of 10 oh the UMD Dairy Bar with yeah really well it's not like the best I've had but you haven't tasted they haven't tasted this this is really good okay so we just got back to our dorm and guess whose key finally works this guy okay so we're going to now go over to our roommates our podates moving in we're going to help we've got the Vlog going selfie she's so cute she's cute she's cute oh she's cute so much room and it smells so good it does smell good this this is confidential I woke up to the cutest guy playing tennis we have a dorm [Music] dog guys so editing took longer than we thought it would and we're still not done but as soon as we came out of our dorm guess what we saw it's beautiful oh I met the dog her name is Kayla yeah there was a dog too and oh my god when we get outside we have to show you guys the sunset because this our Sunset it's gorgeous Gorge gorgeous get itz is like a and we have Gorge [Music] okay it's beautiful oh that's nice pretty gold trip I beat you [Music] hey hi hi Vlog came back from our required um residen home meeting of us were showing down dinner today I think it's the best thing we've beat so far dinner today it was curry chicken with rice um you just had the um the thigh Curry yeah I had another chicken curry that they had they didn't specifically have like a name for it it was like a PR it was so good it was even better than the t yes so Morrison far thumbs up so now we're headed to Camp Cornell hopefully make some friends yeah say hi what's your name Nick Nick okay nice to meet you nice to meet you Nick y look at this this was up when I came that's the blue light system if you didn't know Cornell part of the yeah it's part of the blue light system which is probably a national thing um it's for safety so if you ever feel doing my hair I had it up all day it's probably flat as no no no it looks good try a pancake so safety if you ever feel unsafe on campus just click the blue light and then police will come Cornell's own police department will come to you I don't know what they're doing in the dark that's not they playing frisbee they're in the dark is that frisbee yeah they're playing frisbee in the dark wait that's so cool can you see they can't really see oh wait there's a tree that's why do you see the lights going around that's people don't watch I could be one you add it's all in my ha but I want oh head not ha I don't World I'll take City blame [Music] call be we're trying not to be new I made it you [Music] dance wait they're playing spikeball in the in the dark wait we have to join them hey guys hi hey Vlog so oh what does that mean hey Vlog we just got back from the um camp Camp Cornell uh we did not get any free stuff o Moon's super pretty wait can they see where is it it's behind the cloud stand o they can see okay girl that's a cloud yeah but they got like free mugs and ice cream but in terms of socializing I would say it's oh oh I mean no no no like like in terms of meeting a lot of made but I met some people through like our pod mate yeah and they were really really cool like I I love talking to them they're both in Jam um and everyone everyone was super nice everyone was willing to meet new people so that was cool right they were very social they were very talkative everyone was very amicable so it was nice everyone there is kind of just looking to friend people make friends some people more than others the Moon that one it's not a street light that's the so now we're going back to our D probably shower then edit more shower edit yeah [Music] sleep hi Vlog it is wait show them the clock it's 327 it's currently 3247 27 you can tell a.m. we just Fin and we just finished editing first day at Cornell uh we did not end up going to Target no time for that but um the video progressively gets more and more cracked because it got later later in the night and we start we're clowning we're clowning we're clowning
