How concerned should Cardinals be about Darius Robinson's calf injury?

reports that came out that happened in the closed portion of practice so I'm not real fired up about that guys the guys that were there um that didn't report on it thank you to adhering to our policy uh he's getting image in today he's got a calf little talking to there from coach gin and you thought you were going to get off the hook for scooping some information there no no no saying SA stuff to some reporters there like a tough tough scrum to be Howard Bowser I guess we appreciate Howard for keeping us in the know and doing some reporting of course but coaches really care about their injury policies College follow the rules but the important thing was the the end of that where he said that he is getting Imaging he it is a calf and it is a calf injury which is where we can mildly speculate Kevin let's not full out speculate here but the main things we are scared of here are the typical season ending injury that we see whenever we hear about a story like this where a guy is getting Imaging done you automatically think of ACL MCL Achilles like those are the three main things you're kind of thinking about in this sort of situation there were some upper body injuries that could have been considered as well we were really vague here in terms of what was exactly going on now there could be a really serious calf injury here don't get me wrong but do you think it's fair to mildly speculate that maybe not that the Cardinals dodged a bullet here but this could be an injury that is not severe yeah I mean I'm worried about Kevin Durant had a calf injury that was a unique case before he had an Achilles injury so hope it's not that um but you hope it's you know a strain or one of those things where it's you know weeks not months um not a full year um that's that's as far as I will go as far as speculation but at least we kind of have a a way out of like worst case scenarios I think think I think we're I think we're almost there again uh wolf and Luke is going to be the show to listen to Burns and gambo as well obviously but I think during wolf and Luke is expecting when we're going to see the news break at some point or we have to wait until the Cardinals announce it because everyone's on high alert now and everyone's in timeout right now maybe I don't know it sounds like we're everyone's doing the hands up thing I didn't I didn't do don't get mad at me now it wasn't me that other guy man I wasn't I don't even see what happened I don't even know what happened don't get mad at me Jonathan again what's going on Darius Robinson is a crucial piece of this defense I would argue that if he were to miss a significant amount of time that would actually outweigh the absence of BJ o jalari who was already out for the year because he tore his knee um because dar's Robinson was going to be used and and could still be used I don't want to use my language that way could still be used in various ways around the defense and this is the type of injury where I remain skeptical of it just because you want him back as soon as possible but he cannot his versatility is going to be seriously hampered if he's playing even at 90% because he needs every part of what he does athletically to thrive in all the different spaces he does on the defensive line I think it is natural to look at it and think the pass rush the pass rush that's where he's going to help but he's going to help on the interior as well that is where we mentioned earlier in the show balal Nichols Justin Jones the big fre agent signings particularly Jones that's where they going to help short some things up as well but Robinson was going to be in that rotation and I'll say it again he is the game changer of that really front seven in my opinion I think Kaiser White's a really solid football player people are really excited to see Mack Wilson but of that front seven I think the guy that has an ability to change games the most even as a rookie is Robinson you're really unlucky almost to the point of laughing at it that really the position group that you could least afford any injuries to are where the two big injuries have been this off season yeah and and I think now looking forward look Justin Jones B Nichols aren't necessarily the pass rush guys and I think that's what Jarrett was alluding to is just the pass rush I think the defensive line again the depth is there you LJ Colliers coming back from an injury from last year I think this is a big now opportunity if again if Darius Robinson's out where Dante Stills could have opportunities to show that he's taken another step three and a half sacks last year got a lot of run um you know he even hit he was probably playing over 50% of the snaps um just a few weeks into the season for rest of the year so I I think he's the guy now that I look at and say okay there there could be opportunity for you if Darius Robinson's injur is going to keep him out a few weeks yeah few a few weeks would be a relief and that and that's the crazy thing about following Sports in this kind of way is that like 24 hours ago we weren't even concerned about this at all and now if you just are now just catching up and you haven't missed any of the news if and you've missed some of the news we're now in a stage with Darius Robinson where he got Imaging done today is getting Imaging the Cardinals are going to have that information back to us I would imagine at some point today and the phrase Imaging is so scary it's kind of to the point now where you fear for the worst so we went from this not being a story yesterday to today if you told me he was out three weeks I would take that no questions asked right now immediately and remember this is a topheavy schedule that the worst is at the beginning especially with the quarterback play and the point I've in all week is the point I'm going to keep making about this football team I'm really worried about them against good to Great quarterbacks and most of those are featured in the front half of the schedule I think outside of Jaden Daniels the second worst quarterback that they face before their bye might be Jordan love depending on how you feel about some of the other names on that list probably Caleb Williams honestly is is the second worst name there but even still that's a hyper talented rookie who can make every single throw in in the world so it is going to be an uphill battle for them against those guys because of their inability to get to the quarterback and all the time that quarterback is going to have to throw against Corners who we aren't even sure that can defend those guys under a normal pass rush anyway so this is going to be a big blow for them even if it is just a couple of weeks even if it's just one game he's a guy that they need out there every single day and we'll see how serious this calf injury is later on in the day who do you think is going to be the most important newcomer now if once pass him like not even like talking about the injury but like I saw him as this is the most important new piece to this defense like who else would you go with after that and do you agree is there someone else like the guy they can't afford to lose or who needs to step up with who's the new addition who is going to make the biggest impact I'm going to cheat and not do a new addition and I'm going to talk about a guy we don't really talk about in this way anymore because he's proven that he is a competent solid football player but man you took zav in the first round like it is not out of the RO possibility for him to have that Hassan reic year where he has 14 sacks this year and is all of a sudden showing what is what he's all about we know that he has the talent to do so if I had to sit here and predict who is going to lead the Cardinals and Sachs I think my prediction is probably Z and Collins even though the numbers really haven't been there you hope with a new contract the security and again what Jones and Nichols and hopefully Robinson are going to do in terms of creating pressure in other parts of an offensive line so that someone like zav Collins can get those
