running back situation that might have messed you up in week one. Christian McCaffrey, a surprise inactive on Monday night against the Jets as he deals with calf and Achilles injuries. 49 ers just put out their initial injury report for this week. Officially listed him as a limited participant. So will McCaffrey make his season debut Sunday at Minnesota. Kyle Shanahan doesn't sound like he's ruling it out. Just yet. Christian is still limited and not just out. I mean, I'm not a doctor, but I would read that as a positive sign for how he feels. I'm not a doctor either, but I take that as positive. Yeah. Yes, I do agree, but I'm not a doctor, so there be any is way premature to suggest that he could maybe go on IR just to make sure he's good for the rest of the year or some. You never even considered at this point? No, I've never considered that. It was considered him to play last week. So definitely not thinking about four weeks off. That's how I am every week. You know, I'm not lying. I think as soon as a player says, you know, maybe I'll play, maybe I won't. That's not a good mentality to go into a week with, you know, when you're kind of on the, on the fence. So for me, I'm ready to go. It's artificial turf. Any issue with you answering? Yeah. If you can't run on turf you can't run on the field. You can't run on grass, can't run on turf. You can go, you can go a long season in the NFL. The 40 niners are on the road this week. They're playing at Minnesota. It's an artificial surface and that's always a consideration when teams are talking about this here. But if you listen to Christian McCaffrey it seems fairly apparent that a guy who never really wts to acknowledge even when he is banged up, believes that he can go right now here, this is going to be some really interesting back and forth, I would think, both on the practice field, maybe even in Kyle Shanahan's offense leading up to this one in week two. Yeah. And here's my understanding of where this stands. Christian McCaffrey should be considered a long shot to play this week. He's dealing not just with a calf injury which we knew all during training camp. But also Achilles tendinitis, which is a really bad and frustrating injury. Not something that will knock him out for the season. It's not expected to be like that, knock on wood, but really it's something that just lingers forever. And so I understand why Christian McCaffrey takes the mentality of I'm just going to go out there and play. He also said that last week, as did Kyle Shanahan. By the way, they all said at the end of the week they expect McCaffrey to play. He said he hoped he would have his full workload and all that. Then you get to Monday night and he is not only not having his full workload, but not playing. Christian McCaffrey always wants to play, but really what it's about now is the 40 niners going all right. You are an excellent running back. We would love to have you out there at every chance we possibly can get. The other guy who filled in for you, Jordan Mason, also has been very good. Why risk Christian McCaffrey in week two when you could have further injury? When you have a guy who is very productive behind him, sitting bv iohiusm lyma iket's ssens e. not going
