[Music] [Applause] [Music] this is the Rel show of me Josh Aon Andy Simco Alan Smith and Tracy Martin we're going to react to last night's eventful 3-2 loss to Manchester United under 21s look forward to Northampton town at the weekend and also the latest season is underway and we're going to have a quick discussion about that so let's get stuck into it [Music] so Tracy new season um for the women after the success of last season as well um just looking to build on the success from last season with obviously like a good foundation now in place yeah obviously they got promoted two seasons on the trout uh now in equivalent of like tier four so um decent level now I would say um yeah tough season ahead but uh recruited a lot of players a lot of changes so pretty um I won say new Squad but blend of old and new um and yeah they started their season on Sunday against fil for those who don't know anything about fil they were one of the women's teams that in Years Gone by had a lot of money pushed into them we're playing at a really high level then money fell apart and uh consequently they got they've been relegated they've they've sort of tumbled down the leagues so it was bated last season didn't they yeah bars get promoted so it's quite a big start really um I finished on a two two draw and I'm not going to sit here and pretend that I went to watch it because I wasn't I was on holiday surprise surprise but um oh did that's and it the number one fan I watched it you went to watch it didn't you so obious i' had a chat after with Jess ET how she thought but go on what do you think well I went with my daughter uh grand daughter my granddaughter Grace and we uh with loved it we got a bit confused cuz it wasn't on the astr turf um it was on one on on the upper uh training pitch you know the one that's got the the sort of stand with it as well U so it was on grass uh on the basis apparently that the um the asttr turf pitch isn't big enough at this this you know in this league for the women to play on so okay for the men but not for the women to play which you know it's all right they playing on grass but it's a nice it's a nice standing the old one but you know it's what it is um we were Grace and I were sat behind the dug Arts we were doing a Jo a Josh sat behind and I tell you what the file the filed coaching staff oh the gut a mouth on him my good god did they every they contested virtually every decision they were up and kicking off they were off she were offside now she went kicking off right left and Center it all got a bit DFT really but I think our you know Jess and our coaching staff handled it with um greater plump the um referee had to come over word with him the linesman near us kept telling him to stop in the technical area in G the game itself yes you're right there some some new players some old favorites like Mel at the back with uh young Mard who was outstanding you know she she were great at sort of left side of of the defense but we're a that she's not um up on the right wing because she's like lightning she's a really quality player real quality player going a new goalkeeper uh Becky FY flery and she assured really assured she did she did really really well um the others that I've not seen before are number 10 who played up front with Jordie Jordi Gregory was uh I think it's Louise Biggins I don't want to get her names wrong I think it's Louise Biggins and uh she got into the game pretty quickly and she's going to be an asset in half to the team um no more so though than the number 11 the left Winger um or the Winger left Winger uh Lauren Wilcock she started on fire they had to I lost counter how many times she got fouled it was the only way to stop her she were up and down that left wing light lightning took them on and beat him so many times um I think it's fair to say there were a lot of robust defending um where a few good chances they had they had a couple of chances but goalkeeper were play to were excellent um nil nil at half time second half we pushed and pushed and it were mainly mainly in my view in their area and we made the break for 60 odd minutes no 50 50 odd nearly 60 Minutes about 50 odd 58 I think um when we through goalkeeper came out to clear it um but it went out to uh fre Walton who uh from it must have been 35 40 yards something like that it came to her out on the out on left and she did a David Beckham if you want to put it that way lobbed it all that way 35 40 yards into anet it was um a lovely lovely goal the shame was the shame was that they then equalized which um were a shame because we were on top but I have to say I I don't know their any names of their players the the the the player that scored it ran through a couple of tackles and were good 25 yards out maybe 20 but I think about 25 and launched an Unstoppable shot it were a remarkable goal to equalize so fair play to the file player and then you know their goalkeeper pulled off a couple of great one to ones because we thought you know we were pushing to try and to try and win it and she made a couple of really really good close range saves but then we about well with seven minutes left jck alfield got the ball um it'd be about about 25 yards out it might only been three yard out no about 25 yards out and she uh had an Unstoppable shot placed it beautifully into the top Corner no no no goalkeeper were going to save that so we thought that's that we've won they pushed and then we're in a very short space of time with a couple of minutes to go three four minut too they from a bit of a um I think it were a corner I W sure to that think Corner they managed to uh you to to get an equalizer but one of you one of them things just a shame they could easily have won it and in my personal view should have won it so it were very very well done to to Jess and all the team so a great a great performance especially as we said earlier when you're thinking about they've come up to the fourth tier as a team and the team that play a team that got relegated so he's used to playing at a higher division absolutely outstanding such a shame that um they were they couldn't manage to hold on to it well so there they are we loved it really enjoyed it good and you spting your her game too in collaboration with red all over t-shirt as well sa I've got one saing mine saving mine for the for the women's only show just there and I I've like plugged us yeah I'm just trying I'm just trying I keep trying to proot you know promote merchandise it's on a it's on the show and you can buy the merchandise this is all these shows are now are just going to be depending on which week it is either an away plug or a women's show plug now and I'm just going to be in the middle going oh yeah we've got a game going on F men's this weekend is it not um yes so that is one thing to look forward to we do have a series coming out just about the women's team as well so keep you updated with that as well which will be hosted by Tracy very exciting right moving on to yesterday's game um which set off nicely 2-0 up looked comfortable before halftime um didn't finish that finished that way at all last 10 minutes basic capitulation so Al as you mentioned there looked all right in the first half second half couple of changes made it was basically our youth team versus united youth team and last 7 minutes it just fell apart a little bit it did Kate and I were there we lasted 35 minutes we way at one n uh drove back home uh drown rats uh got Afters work close and watch second half on Sky Sky Sports Plus and uh yeah part time it's very part-time uh and I got a decent seat as well I could stretch my legs I quite happy clearly not if you were so but everybody everybody would going under under East stand concour there were hardly anybody left uh anyway uh yeah 2-0 y aan up front uh I'm thinking what we doing here with no Strikers really but he took both his goals well and and thought Oh it's it's it's going to be steady this but now changed the second half and honestly truthfully what I watched on TV is uh what six minutes at end the game three goals in six minutes uh and that one of Fletchers just a stunning goal uh if I've got anything to say we should have had a point because we should never allow Fletcher to get that winner uh from that throwing uh poor defending poor defending nobody went with him uh a throw in uh bottom uh Corner near Way End by East stand and he just floated in to space and got ball running and put it in and you know good look well done to under 21s and also to Jacob Deany Martin son for getting a victory against his dad yeah breing rights in the Dey household which is good to see Trace you lasted 90 minutes you weren't part time like Al sub him first half hey I got to look after my hip sub himself off after in first wait um a great performance again from um loft house who so far every time we've seen him this season it's starting to beg the question of is he going to get some minutes in a little bit more competitive circumstan than what we've seen him so far yeah and obviously he playing well playing up front pretty much um for the first half then he ended up playing he played center M field for a bit then left left wing back for a bit he was very versatile what I thought impressed me yesterday certainly first half was his composure on the ball was um was excellent and he played in J and aan uh for the goals and you know he took very well but he uh he was very composed and he stood out for me in terms of you should stand out as a as a professional against under 21s and he and he definitely did I thought to be fair Benson played well it was nice to see him back and I thought he had a good 45 minutes he he got on the ball a lot and showed a bit of quality which we know he's got but obviously his Fitness is is um always been ini isue but he played well uh yeah and when he went down um loft house got a bit of a I think it C and I were thinking this is the last thing we need he's actually looking like one of the players that can do something and he he went down with a bit I think it was a nigle but he seemed to be all right played on um second half I thought we lacked quality um taking off uh John Russell uh change of the formation bringing on Martian and D neither of them did particularly well up front didn't have a great deal of service to be fair to them but when they did they sort of wasted the opportunities and then I just start we look very very tired at the back very tired uh I think it o getting sent off was a disaster um in that what he did was stupid and I would imagine Clark would have been less than impressed with him because from where I was sitting which was pretty much opposite he clearly flung an elbow around frustration but still for somebody of that you know professionalism he shouldn't have done that now he gets three games I guess I'm assuming it's three for that it was a straight red um at a time when we haven't got the biggest Squad in the world um so I think that was a massive I bet well I can imagine Cloud would have been fous at that um so yeah that was and then like I say um loft house having a bit of a sit down look around thinking have I got have I pulled something out so yeah that would have been a disaster but other than that it is what it is they played reasonably well um they're accomplished but the young um as we know there yeah were quick they were good but what did you expect I thought Wilkinson I um you know for a 15y old to come into that and play as well as the others um didn't didn't stand out in terms of you were thinking this lad looks a bit nervy I thought he were very assured and did a really good job and actually after he went off we we didn't look as strong I have to say um so yeah I think it's it is what it is but I think for me if Clark's looking at at players in terms of who can support the first team squad I don't think he get a lot from that it just shows we a't got strength in dep Tracy yeah George again again I just don't think he's ready I just don't think he's up to League one standard currently um yeah so it was a bit of a difficult one I think for Clark to take um but fa P to Fletcher when he came on for them he was class very good I think it's um it's good to see some potential signings as well could be having a could on a word with man united on the blower for any of their youth players that aren't going to get is he Daren Fletcher's son he is good player very good player him um Andy I've seen a couple of people taking the way of obviously Loft out and yogan starting up front as darl clap potentially making a point of the lack of Strikers which you've got in the club um which I can see that as it being taken in that way but also at the same time the system worked of them two that were playing the more Advance position of yogan loft house both combined for goals and both and yogan Squad too so justified in his selection and probably less of a statement than what it did look like to start with but it is it it were it must been a little bit difficult for players like Aden Marsh for example to see two players who were not Strikers playing in that role a little bit well if if you're aiding you'd be a bit fed out would you you think why why not me unless they were unless saving you for for Saturday because we've got a Dar of Strikers which you know is well documented that we need Strikers and we aren't including whether or not Max Waters has um got an igle so you know who knows so yeah you'd be youd biing what's that all about but he tried them he tried them both up front and I'll tell you this there were a success it were worse it were much worse as Tracy said when um when Joshua da and Aiden Marsh came on they were much more effective in the first half and I thought they'd be quite effective when they came on I was glad Kiren went up because like Tracy said it looked like he got an nigle or cramp or something I think just take him off this this this don't mean anything just just take him off and don't you know don't blow it for him um because he was it was outstanding I thought he was absolutely outstanding when he played up front he were outstanding and you don't know what it's going to be like in a a proper League one fixture but based on based on what we saw he would be he would be starting for me before Aiden cuz Aiden has not not had the best of starts um uh viml played all right but he got on the end of things it it was it was Kyon that made that made him it were him that that caused it to happen but you still got to finish and we all know what happened against Mansfield that the chances were made to finish and we just didn't finish them so I I I could see if if if maxw if we got a striker in and you know he starting to look a bit dicey at this I know what's going on but it's start to look a bit dicey you know we're hoping to we're hoping to it's imminent no it didn't it's opening to it's essential if we've got any any proper thoughts about about going up um but if you want to play if you want something to play up up with um uh up with with Cosgrove it it'd be hard pushed to look past them to as it stands at the minute because they were both very very good playing against other young ones but we got to remember their young ones as well Kiren you got to say when he's played you know you know it's come on a few times now in the first matches and looked something like you know the player we want get the ball and texes him on you know it's supposed to be a fullback I I would have if if if if we couldn't get a strike out I don't have no problem with him playing up front because he he's going to make things happen so yeah like Tracy Benson Josh Benson I'm glad he were back he had a good 45 minutes I'm glad he came off because we don't want him to break down we just don't want him to break down because it's it's it's a quality it's a quality Midfield player when he's fit and not breaking down so you know if if it if it takes some easing back we should be all right in you know should be all right in in those positions and just need to change it around if somebody's not performing very well or need have a bre but then again could have brought them all off last week none of them played well in center and Midfield against um against Lincoln despite winning so um yeah we were all right I think defense looked a bit the the winning goal was ridiculous Absolut it's it were a note throw in as Alan said by the um not far front goal line by the uh by the stand and two of our players both ran to mark a player and left this one on his own he just lobbed it over him and it's a free a completely free running and I thought that that was ABS that was you know I don't care what age range they are I don't care if they're under 21 that's criminal that that was really really poor and I I hope they look back and learn a massive lesson from that CU that that that that that that were as that were as bad a thing as I've seen for a bit so tomorrow it's meet the players half one while half three at oakwell hopefully there might be a new player announced he's saying that I like you've got some sort of information but the last time you said something like this Liam kitchen left so um there might be I'm just aming I'm just amizing meeters it could be meetting new play I don't know a year on a year on and there still happing on about it or it could be saying goodbye still on about shirts I won't buy any shirts and there's two behind me still on um Al speaking of players departing obviously it's been rumored styles to West Brom for it feels like a week or two now um and Daryl clar yester saying there's no approach and Callum Styles is very much in his plans but then again on um Saturday came out and said he wasn't in a right right sort of head space to play and left him out completely which them two things to me are completely contradicting they definitely are I don't I don't think he's going to be a boundy player I don't think he's going to going to get any game time uh personally uh I'm hearing lots of things that he he don't meet with other players and that as I say it's all say what you're reading in press and everything on social media I have no idea but uh I don't think personally uh is good for dressing room at this moment in time Alan Alan all I need you to do Al is to say I've heard on good thought by Friday he'll still be a barsley player by end of w he'll still be a barsley player that's all you need to say Al to make it happen not for him to stay that's what we're waiting for you to say yeah if you say he's going to stay if you're going to say he's going to go then that's it we know he's staying JY is a little bit of a weird one because obviously we know we've seen previously from Kum styles that when he applies himself he can be he was one of our better players in the season under Val but from that point on we've never really seen him hit the heights that he did in that season and for someone at that time after the season with Val you got such high hopes and expectations for him to sort of kick on and potentially made his way to the Premier League at that time to now sort of see his been on two loans out to Championship where both clubs have had the option to buy and both turned it down and he's now back here for a third time with probably zero interest in playing in League one again um to look after his own International career if he is a b play at the end of the window and there's nothing we can do about it would you have him as part part of the Squad part part of the 18 aside from any rumors of he's not a part of the whatever if you're asking me purely on ability yes um because I think we are short on the left side um he's talented you know we had his best season on Nal I always remember that he played him he was the first play person that put him out on the left because he was always wanted to be Center mid and he couldn't get in there and he played him on the left and he got the best out of him even though there were times where Styles made it quite obvious he wanted to be a center midfielder he still played him on the left and he was he was outstanding for that whole season uh and since him no one seems to have been able to get the best out of him um but yeah pure and simple if if he's our player after the transfer window then I think we have to use him um if there is I mean Clark has said on several occasions since he come that he's been good in training he's had no problems with him etc etc etc so if that's the case which we have to go on then he has to be in the squad because I think if you're looking at ability he has ability and you've got to open clar and then get him to play um plus he's got to go in the shot window because we're going to end up with nothing um so Financial wise I know there's this two million apparently is the tag that we've you know the sellout Clause um again we're not going to get two million for him at the minute I don't think because no one sees him um and it'd be a big risk for a a championship team to to put that out on him you know it would seem that the likelihood is that we're going to get some sort of player swap plus money if if he plays so many games that's what seems to be the the the the thing at the minute how true it is we don't know um I think that's probably good option as we're going to get um or he goes out on loan again and then we're back in the same position we've been on the last two seasons where we still might end up losing him for nothing so it's a tough one but if he stays he plays yeah it feels like and do we still If he if he is still V play Under the window we need to start getting some value from him in terms of him playing because like Tracy said no one's going to take a punt on him in January if he's not played for three months and he's just sat wasting away in the reserves and things like that it's almost in his interest as well to get himself out in the shot window put a good three months in get a move and then it's almost like all parties leave happying away then if he if he's got any sense he'll He he'll go for for his sake he'll go to West Brom because he played his best football as a left wing back when he got Alex Mo playing just inside him they were exceptional together on the left hand side under big bow and Alex Mor at West Brom so if West brom's got any sense they'll stump up a few extra quid to get him and not expect to get it on the cheat because you know I feel for our board because they can't win you know if they sell him for wherever a small a smaller amount it'll be that's us Tim Po always selling cheap these have proved that they're not going to do that so but it's a fine line isn't it you know oh know I'll be glad when the wind is shut I really will it I say it every time it drives me absolutely insane with all the stuff that's on message boards and Twitter especially Twitter and everywhere else and everybody everybody's in the know you know we get this player in part exchange we're not getting this player we stumped up this money we're going to buy so and so from Mansfield for this amount now they want more who knows who knows cuz we're we're not sh we're as a club we're not sharing that and I don't think we should we we shouldn't so I'll be really glad when it all shs and and what happen is will will will will not get two Strikers and we'll keep Callum Styles now that's on the basis that I'm doing an Al so if I say Callum staying and we're not signing two Strikers another Callum prove prove me wrong that's all I'm asking prove me wrong it maybe that maybe that's where we have to go about it Al what would you do if you were Daryl Clark because obviously he's come out and said that Dar CL said as Tracy said he's been good in training um his attitude's been right he just went in the right place on Saturday listen if Al Daryl Clark he'd go home at half time because of his AP he wouldn't stand it rain home got to look after me I bony end I'm under cover don't worry about that I feel for East Stander paying all that money to get wet through if you d more than and get wet through it's sorry for a dry seat how am I happy oh you you wouldn't be I know this might be a bit difficult tell but if you were Daryl Clark you wouldn't be sat ponti and directing it from ponti you'd be sat at Dugout you're rightful place in my V The Dugout you could sit it back in corner it's probably all right there be all right could sit up back it could sit up back and exercise his up is it while he's watching hey football and exercise what what more can you want anyway Al I'm sorry for interrupting you mate what would you do then Al that you're darl clarkco he's a professional football player and if if we got weak weakness inside we need to fill that Gap then you've got to play him a't you but as I say it's up to it it's in his head does he want to play for us there's a difference about playing him and and being a footballer but does he want to play for our football club and that's the Dilemma that we've got in it it certainly certainly is it seems like a very feels like a very complex situation when the solution feels quite easy of the best I think the best thing from my point of view is everyone would just have a clean break of we pack it in with these loans with options to buy and we just go look buy him or don't yeah buy him if you don't you don't and then we keep until his contract runs out because I highly doubt it'd want to move in January and I think we'd really want to move in jary to get some sort of return investment whereas he won't want to move because he'll get a bigger sign on bonus if he leaves a free agent rather than if he moves in transfer so we ended up gting him threeyear contract didn't we first time Lo out the first time because that's when the release CLS were inserted and no one thought we were gonna sell yeah that was the sole reason had it tin yeah right let us know in the comments what you would do if you were darl clar and if K Styles was still a player um come the end of the window because there's two ways which you can look at it um in terms of for um almost the way not the way in which he's treated a club but he's never want to play in League one necessarily for us um or would you give him the chance to prove himself in the three months let us know in the comments below Right Moving on now to the weekend where we Face Northampton town at home so looking at steps back Northampton Town manager John Brady top goal scor tied first Kam McAn and Morton on a big one league position 14th so a big game of 13 versus 14 form this season two losses and a win win came in there last game at the weekend a 2-1 win Key player Jung Guri um continu his good from from last season formation was a slight tweak from last season play three at the back they've now gone sort of a 42 31 it can be variation and then of a free fre 412 um as well and key stat there's no real key stat so the only one got is kamam mcgean blocked me on Twitter after I said Kenny Dall had a better season than him um didn't tag him either he searched his own name and blocked me which a little bit pathetic that cam you're better than that you're better big cat I think I notic that anyway all I'm going to said to that is cobblers cobblers Josh cobblers so Tracy how do you feel about this one because Northampton Town sort of killed any momentum we had last season with that very very late um equalizer or winner I can't remember at equalizer um at home and stopped any potential um momentum going into playoffs so I feel like we ow we ow and one for that in my eyes yeah I mean it's hard to we don't I don't I'm not going to profess to be on the knowledge on Northampton because I'm certainly not um but they did all right last season you know I thought they came up and they finished 14 think they were pretty highly regarded as team that might go down but they did all right um in terms of how they started this season it's pretty much bang on with us I think everything's the same even goal difference so you know there's nothing at all um from what we've seen you know the beat exitor last game is that right in the um in the league but again exitor have not particularly well um lost lost the first game away at Bristol Rovers so uh bit of a direct flip to us in terms of we lost at home and won away so yeah it's um I think it's going to be pretty well you would think even um I know they've got is it Sam Hoskins Who scored quite a lot last year uh5 I think he had quite got quite a good season um so yeah and obviously they've got McKagan as you've mentioned uh signed in this season I did noticed that they signed a lot of players I think they've brought in something like 11 players but loads were on load from Premier League in fact they've signed Sunday yesterday from Brighton on loan so they seem to have brought a lot in um so but whether that's settling in I suppose we could say we're in a similar position trying to work out's best in what position for us but um yeah it'd be interesting to see what Daryl Clark does in terms of what we said from last night's game uh whether young and Ean and loft house will get the nod up front instead of cosg grov and Waters who some would say they may be more productive um we shall see but yeah I don't I think it's going to be KJ um yeah we've we've not started particularly well at home well we hav started particularly well full stop so I won yet we hav won at home yet yeah we didn't play particularly well away at uh at Lincoln at the weekend so I just think it's going to be a tough one I think expectations will be quite high again from the fans I think most people will be expecting us to go out and beat them but I don't think it'll be quite that simple no if only it were as simple as um as saying that Andy um a bit of a as Tracy said that a bit of a awkward team almost Northampton because they seem to get some decent results last season against the better sides but obviously still finished like kind of maroon mid table no real threat of relegation but also no um imminent threat of pushing into players kind of thing so by there probably an all right season after going up from League two um but again aside that we just seem to struggle against strugg against some home andway last season and ultimately they cost us run into playoffs struggle that much we beat him at their ground we' done him is that when Callum Styles got that goal from left hand side on a full we done we done them two1 at their ground so that really lucky we were doing all right at the time we were you know we we were on a on a good away roll at that time um they played well at Towell and and you know I wouldn't like to said he a draw but they probably did cuz they did really well the the the difficulty is lots of changes it's it's hard to tell at the start of the Season you know they've got ourl player will onar who threatened to deceive a Towell never really got um nil down a place um so he there so you know I want him to do well in his career obviously want him to do well on Saturday but it' be nice to see him and you know I'd clap him same with camam again I'll clap C I re he'll get sent off for stamping on some didn't get a three match ban cuz it's what he does but yeah it be it'd be nice to nice to see two old Reds um I just hope that they don't have great don't have great games I think I don't think if I'm honest obviously it all depends how well we play because s Midfield didn't play that well in fact not well at all at Lincoln it wouldn't get in our Midfield with the Midfield that we've got if they if they play anything like the potential but you know good luck to him he left us under you know he signed for us when we signed about 300 under re he s about 300 Midfield players nobody in defense nobody up front but about 30 Midfield players so you know a good look to me went to one of our at the time one of our sister clubs and now is come back and I'm glad for him he were a player I liked he always get everything I remember him bursting towards the end of a game bursting the full length of the field to put a you know to tap it in on nearly on goal line but he had to run the full length of the field to get to it so I always liked him so yeah I want I want him to do well in his career but like like we will but not on not on Saturday I want him to get sent up on Saturday I don't think to hurt anybody stamping I want to fall over and not stamp on some like he didn't the last time but he still got three match ban um so yeah it'd be nice to see it funny side funny side but we don't know are funny because we don't know that much about him it's so early on in season the lost at home to Wickam last week as well so exit really off in that as well yeah so they're not so you know it were good that they scored some that they scored a couple of goals against exit but I think even we might scored a couple of goals against exitor the way exitor are playing at the minute um but you know Cameron you know one goal you know one goal for Cameron one goal for Mor two goals is not uh it's it's not great they also lost preseason they also lost 3-0 at home to um Norwich as well so they're not having a great start but they're exactly the same as us except they've scored that their goal difference is 2-2 where ours is 33 so we're just above them on goal scored so we can hardly Crow can we I know you just said that top scor is on one to score on One V yesterday two yeah have a BM though they don't count don't matter oh it does they stopped gting fre pieces out they get three cars out don't they it's brist Street Motors don't they get free cars out no unfortunately that offer did not roll over from the papa joh Legacy that's why he now no longer the greatest trophy in the modern game no you seen it you seen it my way note against Manchester United under 21s saw a lovely photo of Martin and his lad Jacob that were you know really nice to see on Twitter today so that that were lovely but under 21 shouldn't be playing should not be playing in what's the really the efl trophy just shouldn't be you've not mentioned that before and I know I'm I thought I'd better get it in before I show up a travesty a disgrace and a travesty and if we don't get through I sincerely hope that two under 21 teams get to the final so England as a national team can benefit from it at the expense of all the clubs that are in the bottom two divisions all 48ers that in the bottom two
