and today's starter Mitch Keller power pitcher he's going to speed you up with the fastball velocity and out of his hand will explode the breaking ball very difficult for hitters to keep that front side closed and hit the ball the other way because they know if they're not ready to pull the trigger the fast ball will beat them and a foul [Applause] ball and the O2 hit on the ground to the right side Fair ball I'd say a mistake pitch in an 02 count too good of a pitch to hit right there you have to expand the Zone keep that leadoff man off first base swing and a ball popped up and that'll fall for a base hit the throw in the tag and he's out on the north side of Chicago John shabi and Chris Singleton in half up to hit [Applause] and he handles it himself for the out and up to the plate comes Cody Bellinger Line Drive swinski makes the grab and that's the inning back here at the Ballpark and our pitcher tonight it'll Marcus strowman he really relies on working down in the zone with that heavy Sinker he's got you know it's not as popular to throw that pitch today as it used to be because know guys are looking to hit balls down in the zone get them up in the air it's very important for him when facing samide hitters to be able to get it in especially early in the count and to opposite guys be able to throw it at that front hip and run it over the inside corner that misses one ball one strike stro a former first round pick out of back in 2012 when he was at Duke he actually was a two-way guy he played middle infield he still loves to Shag taking ground balls at short or third or second really good athlete got him swinging one down very frustrating right there as a speedy potential base runner when with two strikes you just struggle to put the ball in play you don't even have to get a hit at that point you can help your team just by reaching on an error but some way got to find a way to shorten up the swing and put the ball in play next time yeah this is a guy that goes out there every time looking to prove that height does not measure heart it's something that he has written on the bill of his cap often times when he's pitching this one high in the inning so up now for Chicago Jan Gomes bounce to the right and it goes just fouled that's off the mark and it's a ball a strike swing and a ball lifted to center field pulls it down and he makes the catch and there's one away here here's Nick madreal that's towards Center swinsky under it and it's caught for the out here's the center fielder number 40 one for one with a single so far and first offering is fouled off Keller 26 years old and he's one of the few players in Major League baseball born in Iowa and a pop up on the left side of the infield Hayes brings it in and that's the inning as we go to the last of the third here's the rookie right fielder Henry Davis and ball one swings and misses and it's one and one and there's a ball and the right-hander deals and a swing and a Miss Lead off man retired here in the third and now the catcher comes up to him Andy Rodriguez first pitch doesn't find the zone and that's downed away rander kicks deals and it is two and one there's a strike two ball two strik swings through it and that's a strikeout back to- back strikeouts to start the frame and that's now three in a row yeah he's really settling in and getting a feel for his pitches throwing him where he wants to right now so we'll see how long he can keep this streak going trying to keep good speed off the bases man he'd like to have that pitch [Applause] back the 02 got him looking Frozen with a back door [Applause] slider and welcome back here's ni horer and the pitch lays out but he can't squeeze it that leaves him without a throw and they come away without an he saw exactly where that was going to be the challenge not get over anxious and come out of your swing he stayed on it and got all of it here's Cody Bellinger strike one 01 popped up he puts it in
