REPORT: NFL Executive Believes The New York Jets Will End Up TRADING Haason Reddick

all right guys what's going on welcome in so another Hassan reic report has surfaced they're coming out they're they're all over the place right Hanan reic is such a major storyline at this point in time right you know obviously the Jets traded a a solid asset to go get him in the building uh somebody who wanted a new deal the Jets brought him in and it it it's just been this standoff right we had josa Anderson's massive breakdown which we covered yesterday along with Jesse Palmer's uh report suggesting that uh reic in the jet solution it doesn't really seem like there's going to be one anytime soon and the two sides are just at a standoff we also heard I think it was Diana Rini last week uh report that Hassan reck is willing to die on The Sword in regards to reck wanting a new deal he's not showing up unless he gets one it seems like he's okay continuing to miss games and continuing to be fine whatever it is like 800k per game missed which is crazy money man crazy money but let's go over this Jeremy Fowler report so he goes on to say multiple League execs believe the Jets will eventually need to explore flipping Hassan reic via trade as the contract in pass has no end in sight not sure they have a choice in quotations now if you open up the article Fowler goes on to say the Hound Ric Saga rolls on with no end in sight both sides appear to be dug in as the Jets wait for the defensive end to report to work he remains on the reserve did not report list and just forfeited $791,000 um you know as far as a game check on top of the more than $5 million in NFL mandated fines even those close to reic aren't exactly sure when he might reverse course and clock in at one Jets Drive the bad blood has boiled over and now teams around the league are curious as to what the Jets will do if he doesn't show their options appear clear keep them on the reserve list until he reports or attempt to trade him closer to the deadline now we did have the Joe Douglas presser weeks ago where he publicly said that he's not trading Hanan reic but let's move on here the latter is looking more likely according to multiple League exacts not sure they have a choice an N an NFC executive said they wouldn't get similar value back a third rounder but it would be hard for the Jets to pay him at this point and he clearly does not want to be there both sides badly mismanage the situation and the has reinforced a harsh reality in trading for Star players in contract years teams will be nervous to make a trade for such a player if they don't want to pay him a separate NFC exec said that was my first thought when Atlanta traded for Matt judon but it looks like he's comfortable playing it out so I guess it's different but if you make that move you have to be prepared to do a deal in most cases yeah I I think uh you know one player that stands out as far as like acquiring a star player uh in the last year of his deal and it's no known by the team and it's known by the player that it's not really going to be a long-term fit and it actually worked and had success was kawhai Leonard going from the Spurs to the Raptors right one year show up boom they win the championship and then Kawhi Leonard bounces out to you know LA to join the Clippers and the Raptors move forward now I can't speak for every Jet fan but I you know from my perspective I know when the Jets initially traded for reic I was pumped up I was freaking fired up I'm like the Jets just got one of the best most consistent pass rushers in the entire NFL for a 2026 uh you know conditional pick it's it's looking like it's going to be a third round pick you know if if news broke later that day the following day the following week whatever that the Jets re-up reic they gave him a two-year extension I would have been like I I would have been super like psyched you know what I mean like I like Ric as a player and obviously that the need is there for this Jets team reck is the best pass rusher that you know would be on the Jets um but you know again it just never happened you know you got all these weird team reports coming out uh from Connor Hughes like once suggesting that the Jets offered reic a contract uh pay raise before the trade even went down and reic denied it and then the Jets went move forward with the trade anyway that should have been a red flag right uh we had the Ric tweet where he said hey you know don't don't just believe everything you see like there there there's more to the story essentially right not for btim but that that's kind of what reic was hinting at but I think at the end of the day because the regular season is here and a solution has not been reached and and we talked about this in the uh the last reic video yesterday there's really four potential outcomes number one a solution gets met tonight tomorrow now that seems unlikely given the circumstances given the reports given salah's press conference where he always says there's no update on the situation um but I I you know I I guess you know anything could happen reic shows up and the two sides mend and they move forward together that's number one right they find a solution soon right this week next week the second option is that it continues to be a distraction week after week I want to say it maybe a month goes by end of October Halloween first week of November then something gets done uh because one side is pressured into it right right is sick of losing all this money or the Jets just create no pass rush um and cannot get in the back field and they're desperate but at that point you know you're paying for half a season of Hassan reic who has not practiced one time yeah he's going to be rusty you know that to me you know after all of these games wasted like that just to me is just it's not a good look it just doesn't make a ton of sense you don't want to be guaranteeing money for half a year right at at that point point you know unless of course you're trading for a player at the deadline uh but in any case the third the third possible outcome here is that reic just skips the entire season and just says screw it I'm not showing up I want a new deal you knew I wanted a deal supposedly you offered me a pay raise and I I declined it you trade it for me anyway I'm not showing up and the Jets on the other hand are like you want too much money we don't feel comfortable paying you we're done and it continues to be a talking point I mean think about this man like I it's still early in the season and I do think talks are magnified because of the pass rush being non-existent against San Francisco but we've had again all of these reports come out in the last two weeks it continues to be a talking point I don't think it's going to go away the only way I think it's going to go away is if the Jets P Will McDonald Germaine Johnson Clemens these guys they start getting the Back Field which very well could happen these guys are still talented um but yeah again that that's the third outcome here he just skips the entire season season and it just is a distraction week after week after week after week and solah continues to have to ask uh answer questions about it and then the fourth outcome uh which I think is interesting which is you know what Fowler and um you know these Anonymous NFC executives are saying entertaining a trade right and to me I'm personally not opposed to it if if reic is hellbent are not showing up and the Jets don't want him if the Jets don't want to extend him beyond the season and they don't want to give him any guaranteed money and they're sick of reic then what why hold on to him would be my would be my argument because as a general manager of a football team I believe that the the the winning football game should be at the priority right set doing things that favor the organization should be the top priority and if reck again is not playing he's not playing and he's not coming and the Jets don't even want him and they're pissed about it too then just try to recoup an asset right flip him at the deadline for something try to include him you know in a package and and send him for you know for a player something right because to me it just doesn't make any sense to keep reic disgruntled answer questions it it be a headache while internally the Jets know he's not showing up and we're not going to pay him so this is going to continue on and on and on because let's face it the Jets no more than the public does obviously about the situation now again if the Jets feel like they can get something done within you know the next week or two then I don't want to trade him because reck is is still a damn good football player but you know if reck you know has has drew a line in the sand and said I'm not showing up I'm done done with this team then you know again I would much rather be without reic and have you know an extra an extra solid draft pick then let this Linger on and on and on and there'll be a 0% chance that something gets done because the the bridges are burned at that point I believe that you could trade reic to a team that you know might struggle in rushing the passer and they have a little bit of cap space right I think the team you know we again we talked about this in the reic video the team that comes to mind is the Arizona Cardinal a lot of Cardinal fans have been banging on the table hey let's let's bring reic back right we have the money to pay him he'd be our best pass rusher he makes a lot of sense with Jonathan Ganon being his former coach he knows the defense you know if the Cardinals are willing to give him an extension reic will probably show up because that's what he wants you know so we'll see how this we'll see how this thing plays out but again the four potential outcomes skips the year doesn't he you know he shows up today tomorrow this week doesn't seem likely but I guess it's you know still still a possibility the Jets trade him or he doesn't show up for like half the year and then one side of caves with like you know eight games left or something like that which to me is one of the worst uh one of the worst
